Good morning ladies. I'm in a bit of a hurry as my sis from Oregon is coming to visit us for the weekend and I've got to shop and clean. Yikes, we're a mess here. Oh well, she knows us well.
![]() Toni~I so feel for you, my friend. I've gone what you're going through so many times. But, what keeps bringing me back to LC is that without it I'll weigh over 200 pounds, and it wouldn't take me long to get there. Just know that whatever you decide to do, we're here to support each other, NO MATTER WHAT!We've been watching old family videos the last few days. A couple nights ago it was the thin Sue, but last night it was the huge Sue, at least 210 pounds, if not more. I can't believe how awful I looked. Good motivation to keep going. Lisa~sorry about your day yesterday. But, today is a new day and the best thing is that it's Friday. I can't believe that you are overweight! How tall are you?Stacey~morning. ![]()

Sue~ I'm only 5'3 sooo yeah, I can definitely stand to lose some more. I looked my best between 120 and 125 but havent seen those #s in years. I would be happy to reach the 130s at all at this point
![]() Hope you get everything done and enjoy your visit with sis!! Stacey~ that sounds like alot of work!! Hope you have some time to just relax too ![]() The pool opens this weekend but I dont think I will brave it yet. The weather has been on the chilly side here so the water is gonna be FREEZING! I have some cleaning to do too and gotta get started on my novel for the book discussion. Oh and I HAVE to mention that I did only 10 minutes on the treadmill but it was a run and for an old lady like me that was pretty darn good (pats self on back) I'll check back later...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Yes, I have really only tried atkins. The reason I always stuck with it, is because I realized that I had a sugar addiction and I knew I needed to rid of all things carby/sugary. I don't know if I could handle another program that allows those sorts of items? I don't know...I obviously can't handle this one either LOL SOOOO....DH and I talked today - and we've decided to get on a road to good health, together. We been around some "older" people lately and we both noticed people hobbling around and taking medications beyond belief - that sort of stuff. We don't want to be that way in 10/20 years. I guess some sort of plan is better than none. I'm going to try induction again - which I need to read the rules AGAIN to remind myself to be rather strict. Maybe with us doing this together, we'll be able to succeed. We are starting tomorrow since we got our cookout over with today Going to try and get some sort of exercise every day, no matter what it is. Ya now, I really feel like a hypocrite on these boards giving advice for so long and not seeing success myself. But, I know I have to keep coming back here for support and thanks to all of you for being there - even when I keep jumping off the wagon. LOL ![]()

Toni~I've felt like a hypocrite many times, giving advise (because I DO know what I SHOULD be doing) and not following it myself. But, I agree that keeping healthy is so important as we get older.
As I think about hitting 50 in a couple years, I really want to be a young 50, healthy and not taking a bunch of meds either (which I'm doing right now). So, lets do this for good health and feeling so much better about ourselves. ![]() |

Ya know Sue, even with just making the decision for a healthier lifestyle, I've been in a better mood today. And, I believe I have (so far) made it through the first day of induction.
The 3 of us also went for a 20 min. (?) bike ride and might walk the dog this evening after dinner. Planning on making some chicken kabobs on the grill for dinner - so that will be filling. Hope everyone else made it through the weekend ok ![]() |

Well, I can't say that Kurt is really doing LC - more like minimal carb LOL The last time he did this, he dropped 20 lbs. in a matter of about 3 weeks - it was so unfair. He's just going to avoid bread items and sweets and cut back on the amounts he eats. Also, if he has the carbs, he wants them to be fruit and whole grains. I wish I could do that - but I would never lose any weight. So, hopefully today I'll get to grocery shop and get some good foods to start us out on. I'm hungry this morning LOL
How are you all? Anything exciting over the weekend? |

Morning ladies.
We had a fun weekend, especially Sunday when we had a bunch of people over for a barbecue and huge bonfire. I grilled hamburgers, brats and hot dogs and they were really yummy! So, here goes another week. I want to get totally back on plan starting today. I've been eating other things, but really am going to try and cut out all non-LC items. I've gained some water weight over the weekend and want it all off before my official month weigh-in. ![]() Stacey~how did things go over the weekend with the correspondence course? Lisa~that's sweet of your husband to bring you LC treats. My husband supports me by not buying me any treats. But, he really likes it when I bring him home some SF Russel Stovers candies. He tries to do LC, but cheats way too much.![]() Toni~you're sounding better and like you're in the right frame of mind for Induction. ![]() |

Good morning
Nothing very exciting this weekend, but we did finally get the grill together and ate our steaks I am working today preparing for a party Im doing Thursday night. Toni~ Glad you are feeling in control today!!!! ![]() Sue~ Sounds like you had a fun time. I know what you mean about the treats-I shouldn't have them but it's definitely better than all the bad stuff I could be eating. I am making the BETTER choice maybe not the BEST, KWIM? ![]() Stacey~ Where are you? Hope you're not buried in work and you can visit soon ![]() |

Good morning Ladies! Well We got a lot done on Friday, but by Satuday I got the sick bug Jace had. I finally ate real food yesterday. That was exciting. Taking it kinda easy today. I am real tired still. I told Jace that Mommy will nap with him today. I also got my friend today...thank goodness. I really didn't want them to change my BC pills again.
Well I can say I didn't stick to plan this weekend, but I didn't stick to anything...hahah! Toni~I agree just take it one day at a time or one meal at a time. We know you can do it ![]() Lisa~ How'd the new grill work out? Sue~ How'd the brats taste? I had bought some to make for Memorial day, but that didn't happen. Got a major craving for them though ![]()

Ok - day 2 is done
Actually, hasn't been extremely difficult LOL Did get a walk in today too..about 1 1/2 miles I guess. I need to find out how long the walking trail is at the park. I also bought a cheapo kid's yoga video for DS today at Dollar General with a little soft, fold out mat. So, I'm going to try and do that with him tomorrow - he's excited about it DH came across this article today - thought you all might be interested - we found it rather interesting 8 Ultimate Flat-Belly Summer Foods on Yahoo! Good Morning!
Is summer ever going to get here? Holy Cow! What a chilly spring it has been - finally calling for some sun today. ![]() Stacey - I do hope you are feeling better! Not only is it difficult being ill, but being ill with a little one around! ![]() Sue - Are you back on strict LC now? If so, how is that working for your system? I hope the stomach issues are calming down. Lisa - Your party on Thursday, is that for business or fun? (or fun business? ) Are you still treadmilling every day? I wouldn't mind getting on the treadmill - but I'm really afraid that heel thing will flare up again. I haven't had that for a while now. Maybe I need some new shoes LOL ACTUALLY - Kurt mentioned to me that it might have been the shoes because my MIL bought some winter style crocs back around Christmas time, and I wore them all of the time. I'm wondering if the stress of trying to keep them on my feet was causing the heel issue. After he mentioned that, I started wearing my Nike walking shoes and the issue has gone away? I never would've thought that I would have problems with the crocs since so many medical people wear them all day. Who knows? Day 3 ahead - it really IS so much easier having someone else to be accountable to with this. We were both getting pretty hungry last night so we had a little guacamole with cheese "chips." It was a good snack DH felt like he was starving when he got home from work because he said he didn't have his usual "gorge" at work. LOL (gorge meaning grabbing chips and stuff off of the break table)Well, time for coffee - hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! |

I am nervous but it will probably be good sales ![]() I am treadmilling on and off. I need to get back on there today!!! Never wore the crocs so cant say. I LOVE my Birkensocks! I am gonna go exercise now and get my shower out of the way. Since I wasnt originally planning on so many partygoers I have more work to finish up today. I'll BBL... That sounds awesome! Looks like it will be a fun time
I was looking at your website this morning - such pretty things! Gosh! I'm still thinking of getting the recipe cards and making a bunch of low carb ones for my mom. She can never find a recipe when she wants it. Will they fit in a regular card box? Finding the time to get them done is the hard part I think haha I have so many things I want to do but never have the time to fully finish any of them. :/ |

Good morning ladies.
Just a quick check-in. I have some sort of bug and was up during the night for a couple hours. Think I might have the stomach flu. I started Induction yesterday and so far so good. I didn't get enough veggies in and ate too much cheese, but it's a start. It didn't bother my stomach, so I hope I can continue eating this way. Stacey~sorry you picked up the bug. Hope you're doing better and getting rest. Toni~ you're doing great! It's more fun to do this with a partner, isn't it? My DH has always been slim, but in the last few years has put on a few extra pounds. He mostly eats LC with me and is totally behind the LC lifestyle, but doesn't always stick with it. Too many temptations around here, he says.![]() Lisa~sounds like you have a busy day. Hope you party goes wonderfully tomorrow. |

Hello Ladies. Played outside with Jace this morning and have been working on classes all afternoon. Weather is so windy it knocked Jace right off his bike! He was cracking up.
My hubby went to the promotion board today and we are waiting around to see if he got reccomended for E-6 (Staff Sergeant). We sure hope so!! Toni~glad you are having an easier time now that the hubby is doing LC with you that is great! Lisa~What is your web address? I never have seen it. Hope your party goes well. Sue~Glad you started induction. Sorry to hear you got the bug now. It is such a bummer. Well, I am on maintnence now. I am excited to be able to have my half a bannana in the AM. I just love them. I finally found the unsweetened chocolate almond breeze yesterday. I love that stuff. It is a great snack. Have you all tried it? I'll try and check back later. Ciao! |

Good Morning ladies!
I had a day full of energy yesterday and right back up at 5 this morning. I hope today is the same. Jacob is having a friend over for the night and I may have our friend's 2 girls for the next few days - so I will need the energy Our good friends found out her cousin was killed in a car accident (in FL) yesterday, so they need to drive down there - which is why we will be keeping their girls. Looks like we might be ordering pizza tonight haha (I hope I can resist!) Maybe I'll go get tacos instead - less tempting ![]() Stacey - I really miss fruit too - especially bananas. Whenever I start slicing one up for Jacob's cereal, the smell just makes my mouth water! Though, it's almost berry season here so hopefully we'll get some good ones soon! DH and I were talking about how tasteless the strawberries are that I just bought. Is food actually FOOD anymore? lol Lisa - I hope you have a very successful party today! You've worked so hard on it - wish I could come!! Sue - How are you feeling? Any better? ![]() I was thinking about some of the people that used to be on this challenge thread - has anyone seen them on the boards and do you know if they have been successful with their losses? Have a great day all!! |

Good morning, friends!! Sorry I was absent-I've been sick(my throat is on fire) and still had to work ![]() Party went well-not as well as I had hoped but still made some $. It is always disappointing when I share my enthusiasm and can't convince others to join in I didn't get ONE person out of 10 to book a party with me??? Oh well maybe Monday's group will be better Oh Toni, the recipe cards are standard 4x6 so should fit nicely in a box. My mother just finished this set while recuperating from her surgery. They are lovely! And woohoo on the energy-maybe you could lend me some ![]() |
