DH wants me to go out with him and his mom. I told him I'd think about it, but that I was leaning towards those 2 going alone.
I doubt if I will see DS because he works that day. I don't like Mother's Day either. It has been hard the last few years. My Mom has already planned to go with my brother's WIFE on Sunday to eat . But I will see her Saturday, probably take her gift to her then. On Mother's Day I just want to turn over and go back to sleep really. I know it's not the same reason as you Peskie and not trying to make people feel sorry for me, just feel that way since everything has changed with DS. It really is a difficult time for a LOT of people.

Soooooo, did you see it?????????

Thanks! Wonder if a note that says "Hi! I'm Dorito Dust" will suffice???
Um perhaps "cheese seasoning"?

Mothers Day isn't my favorite holiday either...not because I don't love being a mother, but its a yearly reminder that I never had a good relationship with my mother. But this year I'm going to focus on my kids and grandbabies and not let the past ruin the day for me.

Wanna give me DS's phone number and I'll talk to my nephew? I know it's harder than it used to be babycake.....we can grieve together.

Maybe exotic on front and a "cheese seasoning" note on the back?!

I can't wait!!

I won't be with my mom on mother's day but I don't want to be either. I love her but being around her makes me miss my step mom. I just have no desire to spend it with her. I'll do something for her and my step dad somewhere between mother's day and father's day.

we won't be doing anything this year probably. saturday we are meeting dh's family for an early dinner at Olive Garden. sunday, dh works from 7 am to 7 pm. I may go out with the girls after church or just hang out at home. whatever they want to do.

I might get a helium balloon and send my mommy a note that I miss her.

And its perfectly normal to miss her! Especially on holidays like this! I think that's a wonderful gesture and if you make it a very funny balloon she would get the biggest kick out of it!

You know it's really not my fault.
Everyone else was doing it too!
All the cool kids were doing it.
You want me to be popular don't you?
Maybe that was just a better thread!

She'd LOVE a crazy balloon that looks like Bonkers, and yes, you're right, it has to be CRAZY. Otherwise, it's not her.

Perhaps you're right and I shouldn't tie her to it.

Funny story about helium balloons and mom....I used to tell her I'd never get her balloons, 'cuz she was so little I was afraid she'd drift off like Mary Poppins.

She wasn't allowed to carry umbrellas in my presence either.
