**SLIMMER BY SUMMER~~Week of 5/5**

Hi Slimmers. I'm starting us up for next week.

Again, I've been MIA. I'm on day 14 of a 19 day stretch of work. I'll have the weekend off at the end of next week, then work another 19 day stretch. In addition, we're really busy. I didn't get home from work until 9:30 on Friday, and 6:30 yesterday, having started at 8 both days. I went in early today, as I had to get out to go to the Penguins playoff game. We won, and won the series! So next it will be the battle of PA, as our opponents will be the Philadelphia Flyers. If we win that series, on to the Stanley Cup Finals!

My eating has not been good. But I feel yuck, with my weight being up. So I am going to again try to buckle down.

Diane: Good to see you! Sorry to hear about ex-DH. That must have been tough.

Roma: I hope things improve with your GS.

Mary: Good to see you too.

A wave to everyone else. I'll try to pop in more this week.

Jazzy

HI,
Jazzy....We are waiting for the Dr. to tell us if a center in Wa is going to take him. or Reno NV.?
Its really out of our hands now.
We went to visit him today and the councilor said he had fallen to sleep. We didn't see him. The new meds he is on makes him sleepy at first.

This is going to be a short post I should be in bed

Good morning Slimmers!

I had a decent weekend, even got some exersize - mowing the yard! T.O.M is visiting so the scale is up a few pounds, but I'm not worried about it.

Thanks for all the welcome backs - hopefully I'll stick around this time! I probably wont post on weekends because I'm too busy and my laptop at home is on the fritz. The computer at work is what I usually use. Is Snowrose still around? Does Wari ever pop in?

Jazzy - I remember those loooong stretches of work you have! Thats gotta be tough!

Roma - Hi there!

Good morning everyone,

Just a quick drop-in to say . We had a pretty busy weekend too. Eating was not so great over the weekend but I'm not too worried about it because I didn't go too crazy. I've got a weight workout scheduled for this afternoon. Have a great day everyone.

Hello ladies--

I just got back from seeing my orthopedic sturgeon--a fishy guy . As no surprise to me, I need surgery on my left knee. I'm going to try to put it off until late fall (around turkey day) and then try to take a month off. Of course losing some of this weight will go a long way to help. When I had my right knee done 9 years ago, it was a long time before it healed and I felt better. I want to be in better shape before I jump into this one. I also got a cortisone shot in my knee --did not feel good. Hopefully this will give me some relief so I can get through the golf season (I really don't want to miss it--it the best activity I participate in)

Not much else is new. Hope you're all doing well.

Morning Slimmers!

Things have been super busy here! I had Special Olympics on Saturday. 13 out of 16 of our kids qualified for state. All the kids did an awesome job even though the weather was horrible. On Sunday we spent the entire day with DH's family as my DH's uncle died so we had the visitation/funeral. We also had a big cookout w/DH's family last night after work. Now we are starting end of the year banquets, field trips, etc. It is going to be a crazy couple of weeks till school is out!!

I haven't made it to the gym the last couple of days. I am not sure if I'll make it there tonight or not. My family is celebrating my grandpa's 79th birthday at the nursing home this evening.

grama: Great job staying on plan!

bethr: I am sorry to hear you have to have surgery on your knee!

aunatural: Hi there!

annie: back! Glad to have you join us again!

jazzy: I bet you are ready for the weekend! I can't imagine putting in those kinds of hours!

Howdy Sliminators!

I am a bit bummed out today - the scale is still up a few pounds even though TOM is gone. Makes no sense. I was feeling overwhelmed last night and this morning. Everything seemed to pile on me at once... finances, my car, my marriage, my kids, my friends mom was killed in a car accident (she was 89), and with my DD's big dance recital and my DS's graduation... I just have a LOT on my plate right now... stress... not food!

But... I am on track. I need to drink more water today and get out for a walk or something.

Rachel: That must be SO much fun doing the Special Olympics! I would love to be involved in that. One of the kids I'm a nanny for is autistic, and I used to work in an MRDD school. Those kids are just amazingly wonderful!

Roma: Sorry, I haven't been here and I'm clueless... what is going on with your GS?

Beth: SS to hear about your upcoming knee surgery. My dad had to have it on both knees (one at a time of course), but he can walk a lot better now!

Tracey: I think weekends are tough for all of us as far as eating how we should. I know it is for me!

Hi to everyone else!!

Morning Slimmers!

The craziness continues! I am really looking forward to summer break so I have some time to sit back and relax. Only 10 more school days left!

annie: Hang in there! O yeah.......I Special Olympics!!! It is so exciting watching all the kids participate. We have 3 boys in our school who have autism. You should really check into volunteering. I know our local and state Special Olympics is always looking for volunteers.

Morning Slimmers!

I am really dragging this morning. I didn't want to get out of bed. I am exhausted! It doesn't help that it is cold and rainy out.

Tonight is suppose to be the elementary school track meet. Not sure if it'll be postponed due to rain or not. If it is postponed that means I'll have the evening free.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick drop-in to say hi. This week has been crazy for me too.

Roma~ I'm sorry about your grandson. Outpatient care is not often the best option for mental patients but it's cheaper for the hospital. I really hope your grandson has a good therapist who will follow up and make sure he's been treated properly.
Rachel~ Isn't it great to volunteer for such a worthy cause? My former boss used to volunteer for Special Olympics every year and she loved it. Good for you.

Good morning ladies--

What a quiet group we've all been this week!

DH is gone for the weekend so its just the dog, the bird and I at home for 48 hours I love DH and love spending time with him but since he's left his job and started his own practice he is ALWAYS here and I never have any time for myself at home. I usually only get it when I travel (which isn't the same as being at home). So the dog and I are going to hang out today and do a few things I wanted to get done. I had my hair done last night so there isn't anything I have to do today. Tomorrow I'm planning on attending a yoga class--first in the series--restorative yoga. I have a lot of work to do in order to be able to even take a beginners class. So I've set some goals related to doing a better job of taking care of myself. For the first 30 days I'm going to focus on physical/spiritual. So my goal is to do some sort of exercise (probably walking or using the elipitical trainer) two times a week (15 minutes minimum to start), yoga once a week and meditation three times a week (25 minutes). I want to give myself some flexibility (and if I can't get the exercise in, be sure to replace it with an extra meditation) so I don't feel like I've failed and then do nothing (my travel schedule makes it difficult). So for this week I've done OK. Rode the bike at the hotel on Wednesday, meditated on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and I'll do yoga tomorrow. Don't know what I will do today yet. In June I will start to focus on my eating plan but I know I'll not be successful if I try to take it all on at once.

Tomorrow I'm going out to lunch with my mom, brother and SIL for Mother's Day. DH won't be home in time to go. I want spend some time with him in the evening since I leave on Monday night and don't get home until Thursday this week--ARGHHHH

Grama--it really difficult to deal with an adoloscent with behavior health issues--actually its really tough to deal with an adolescent without them also Hope things improve

JAzzy--where are you?

Rachel--hope you're doing OK with your busy schedule How's Cooper (Kona wants to know )

Sue--how's your recovery going?

Rola--miss you

Diane

Tracey--its seems crazy for everyone. Hope you're doing OK

Hi to all I missed--

Have a good day

Happy Mother's Day Slimmers--

To all of your mothers and grandmothers--hope you have a great day.

I'm so proud of myself this morning. Yesterday I took the dog for a long walk (although my knees were letting me know about it), I did meditate last night and this morning I actually made it to a restorative yoga class--first yoga class I've been to in years. It was awesome! I'll continue to go. I didn't feel like it was beyond me and it was very restful/peaceful. Nice start to a Sunday morning. I'm going to order a yoga mat (I can't find mine for the life of me, and an extra bolster and blanket (DH took mine to use in the back of the car). I'm also ordering a great yoga tape I saw for plus size folks. Oh--and I need to get a pedometer. Anyone have one that they really like? I'm getting motivated.

Going to lunch today with my mom and DB/SIL. DH has been gone all weekend at retreat-its been great being home alone with the dog. Took a nap yesterday afternoon and paid bill (yuk).

Have a joyous Mom's Day everyone.

Happy Mother's Day, Slimmers!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

It is a cold, dreary day here. We are under a wind advisory until later tonight. It's a good day to stay home.

I have started really trying to save as much as possible with grocery, etc items. Last night I sat down and worked on my CVS ad. I went today and got $60 worth of stuff for under $30 plus I got $8 in rewards. I know it is going to take alot of work but I really want to cut our spending with that kind of stuff in 1/2.

bethr: Cooper started on his seizure meds yesterday. We take him back to the vet in a month. Sounds like you have a great plan! Keep up the great work!
