I had a great meeting today with my new client. She is an absolutely lovely lady. I am really going to enjoy working with her.
My mom got her Mother's Day gift. She's happy. I got a lot of work done today too. I had to take a bunch of user rights away from people. Let's just say that I am going to be on several people's S-List on Monday when they realize they can't do whatever they want to anymore. And the lovely pop-up pearls of wisdom I added to the application should only add more fuel to the fire. At least I removed the snarky ones that I put there the last time I had a meltdown. So, I'm over work already and ready for another vacation. ![]() Monika, I'm still sad for you. How's Parker doing today? Hope everyone has a great day planned tomorrow. I am going to try and get the rest of the rust off the horseshoe I found at the ranch in Kona. Yes, my life is THAT exciting. ![]() Lou

oh thanks for asking Lou! The Parker is doing ok so far.. actually we took him to Petsmart today.. just for a few min, and he does love the socializing.. and he had a good time...
So... we got home.. and he laid down and rested. As long he is still eating well. and his attitude is good..we are ok.. once he seems not to care to much about his daily schedule and activities anymore.. I will worry... right now.. I try not to think about the end.. but just look at what a great day we had today.... DD came over with the baby... and Parker had a great time watching the skin puppy.. LOL! and he gave him a few quick kisses and licks. I think he really would like the baby around.. and he would be very good with him.. but unfortunately.. that is a nice wish.. and thought. |

I celebrated Mother's Day with my Mom yesterday, I got her a GC to Barnes and Noble. That's what she always wants; book GC. John gave me mine today since we'd be busy with the move, he got me a St. Francis Statue to put in the back yard, I have it under the tree that I feed the birds and squirrels at and I can see it out my kitchen window. The tree is close to the house. Bet the birds and squirrels will wonder who the new kid is at the feeder tomorrow. He also got me the new Neil Diamond CD, I asked him if he started twitching when he paid for it and he said, "No, but I think I'm breaking out in hives." ha! ha! Smart a$$. He's going to grill me a rare steak to put on top of my very large salad, I told him that since things were busy today and we didn't see each other that I just wanted that. Unless we go to Red Lobster, I would rather him just grill me a steak cuz his steaks are soooo wonderful. He also paid for my psychic today ($40/hr but they only charge for an hour no matter how long they go over, she went 2 hours and 15 minutes today). I found out that Susie, the one that I went to twice passed away this past fall, that makes me sad, I really like her and she was very good. Brenda the one that I went to today was excellent, hit on quite a bit of good stuff. Had some things to say about Katherine that made me cry (she's the one that passed away the day after Easter, My Eastern Star and Amaranth sister). Dad would not talk much, he was playing cards. She said that he was playing eucher and was getting ticked that she kept interupting him. That sounds like him too. So, it was a good reading, I got answers that I needed, good solid answers. I really liked this girl, I will definitely go back. I usually try to go every other year or so. The last time I saw Susie, the one that passed away Alyssa was right around 6-9 months old or so.
I hope that everyone has a good Mothers Day. Patty, I will be thinking about you. I still have a hard time with my father's birthday and father's day and it will be 9 years for him in August. It never gets easier but I can now think about him or talk about him and I feel at peace but it took a long time. And I don't think I'll ever stop missing him, John told me not to expect that, because he still thinks of his father and misses him every day and he passed when John was 8 (he'll be 50 in July). My love and hugs to you, sweetie.

Happy Mother's Day!
Got up this morning and planted the snapdragons & portulaca that I got yesterday. We also picked up some local honey yesterday at the garden center. For the past few years I've gotten poision ivy, never had it before. So I'm going to take some local honey everyday to build up an immunity to the poison ivy. Hoping it will work this year! I just have to dry my hair and I am heading out the door. extra special ![]() for everyone today ![]() Last edited by melnbec : 05-11-2008 at 09:37 AM. |

Happy Mothers Day!
![]() Rebecca, I think that's so cool that you have a psychic. I would love to go to one. My sister had one come to a party she had once and the lady said some very scary (and later turned out to be true) stuff about her husband. She's been afraid to go back to one since. It ruined the party for her. I would love to visit with my dad. I miss him too and he's been gone 15 years. ![]() So, my horoscope said to relax and watch a movie today. It also said to get some extra sleep, which I already had. I woke up ready to start the day and DH was in the bathroom, so I figured, I'll just sleep a little more until he gets out....two hours later, I'm having a dream about me and this friend who's going to have me doing his accounting and administrative work on his boat, and he's going to pay me a load of money, and we get to have a catered lunch on the boat every day. Everyone is really nice and we all love our jobs because the boat and my friend are helping endangered animals....and I wake up to DH doing the laundry. It's funny. I never read my horoscope. I did today for some reason and it was right on. Watching a movie is exactly what I feel like doing today...after I get the rust off that horseshoe. Lou |

I just got some sad news from my DS. It looks like she's going to lose her house. The interest rate is skyrocketing (she's in an adjustable rate mortgage) she can't get refinancing for a variety of reasons, she's already a month behind and she said she's not sure if she's going to be able to make this month's payment either.
I'm tempted to help her out, but I suspect that if I were to bail her out she'd just get herself back into trouble again. I really can't afford to give her money, but I would if it meant she could keep her house. I think, though, that it would only postpone the inevitable. If she can't afford to make her ever increasing monthly payment, she can't afford to make it, and unless I'm willing to supplement her income every month, I don't think bailing her out would be a permanent solution. Am I wrong? ![]() Lou |

Lou, I always haved used animal communicators... and so far had nothing but good experience... But my first one moved away... lost contact with her.. and than well I had one that ... she was ok.. only used her one time.. the next one I liked and used with Sammy just passed away.. So... now a friend of mine told me about this lady index She said this one is really good too.. and I probably will have to call her and talk to her about the Parker. Sometimes it just gives me closure.. ![]() ![]() Don't know what to tell you about DD or DS... which ever one it is! LOL! I think you are doing the right thing.... you can give her/him moral support and sprititual support and a shoulder.. but better to start over now.. while she is still young.. and hopefully she learned something from this experience... ![]() Very difficult for some of us moms.. that always try to fix things for our kids.. but... sometimes they just have to crash and burn.. so they can get themself together and be stronger. ![]() hugs... |

DS is my sister. My favorite sister (yeah, I know you're not supposed to have favorites, but I do ) She's not thinking this through, I don't think. She honestly thinks that she can sell her house in this horrible market for enough to pay off her mortgage and the second she took out on it - I'm not sure about that. I don't think she realizes the real estate agent is going to take a portion of whatever she gets, which will probably land her in the hole. Then she thinks she'll rent for a year and go out and buy a bigger and better house. Where will she get the down payment for that? And what if she isn't able to sell her place before she goes into foreclosure? She'll never qualify for a loan then. She's in her mid-forties and has never been good at making decisions. Owning her own home is a huge deal for her, and I really don't think she'll be able to do it again if she sells/loses the place she has now.So, I've been doing a bunch of research in the internet about programs that are out there to help people like her out. She's a single mom with two kids. She shouldn't lose her house. And she shouldn't have to pay a mortgage with a 12% interest rate either. There are organizations out there to help people, and I'm going to get her in touch with them. I'm also going to advise her to tap into her retirement to get herself out of being behind. I suspect that's the reason her rate is so high. She didn't go into details with me, but I told her that rates were about as low as they've ever been and, if anything, her rate should be low now. She said her rate keeps going UP, and I suspect that may be because she's a payment behind. I'm also going to encourage her to talk to her bank. She needs to try and work something out with them. That's really all I can think to do to help her, aside from giving her money. Can anyone think of anything else? Maybe I should pose this question to the PG - they are a creative bunch who come up with all kinds of things. Lou ETA. Maybe not advise her to tap into retirement....I always thought you could do that in a hardship situation without penalty. Turns out you can borrow against it - I don't know if that will help her, but it could. Last edited by LINC : 05-11-2008 at 04:11 PM. |

This weekend has been a madhouse....
No chance to get caught up... ...The synopsis is that we were going to a mother's day brunch at my mom's club but they ran out of food and since I live the nearest I invited my whole family over for an inpromptu brunch...all 13 of us....plus W's kids and grandkids popped in for a visit... but I loved it....oh and W decided he also wants a dog to keep him company in his retirement.... so this morning Misty joined our family...she is a 9 wk old pomeranian...![]() I hope everyone is well and I'll catch up tomorrow... ![]()
