Lucy: Great to see you again!
![]() Amy: Congrats on the 2 lbs!!! ![]() Anna: Sorry you had such a rotten day. ![]() Teresa: Thanks for the advice. I agree that carb cycling can lead to problems with cravings. I also thing there is a potential for binging. But I will be careful and definitely will stop if I run into trouble. Leanne: There is definitely some improvement in your menu. Because you're used to eating so little, you may have to eat full meals even when you're not particularly hungry. Today I took my mom to a Mets game for mother's day. Yay, they won! She is a huge baseball fan and we had a great time. I am already back in ketosis!!!! I noticed the stinky keto - pee, and decided to test and the strips were purple. It was less than 24 hours from the refeed, and this is the quickest I ever got into ketosis. I'm hoping this is a good sign for this ketogenic cycling thing. Today's menu: b. 3 scrambled eggs, 1 slice cheese, 1/2 avocado, Coffee s. coffee l. 1 hamburger patty, 1 Italian sausage w/peppers and onions (ballpark food) crystal lite d. jerk pork (1 country style rib), smashed cauli I didn't get all my water in yet, so I will chug some before bed.

Whew, just got finished with a 20 minute pilates ab routine, and I feel a little better now.
I'm nauseated though because I ate too close to when I exercised. After the butter on bread, I had some toasted flax seeds (trying to get things movin' if you know what I mean), a little peanut butter, and a slice of cheese. Still not enough for the day, but at least I know I'm in ketosis I guess by the lack of appetite.Quote:
. I wouldn't rip the heads off of anyone here... maybe just some of me friends and family. LOL I'm a little upset at me mum today. Not to bore you with the details, but in short: she decided to spend Mother's Day with her new boyfriend of about a month (don't worry, she's not still married to me father! lol) instead of me. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but I took her to her favorite restaurant and got her gifts that took a lot of thought (pants she loved, sugarless candy because she is on a LC diet too, 5 mother's day cards, perfume she told me she loved, etc.), but she didn't appreciate it, wants to return half of it, and she talked to this new guy on the phone during the 2 hours she was forced to be with me at dinner. So... But oh well. I understand that she is really enthralled by this new guy, so I am trying to not take it personally.Oh, but BTW, Bramble -- that was so funny! I bet that diet WOULD work!!!! And I guess that I can't really give you too much crap for the 1000 calories because I didn't do much better today. ![]() Lisa -- what a cute couple!!!! ![]() To everyone else ... and I hope to be able to update with more personalized messages tomorrow!I promise no more venting about me frustrations either....... it's just been "one of those days" two days in a row apparently! ![]()

![]() I'm here, just having a very relaxing day off! First day off in 14 days and am loving it (even though I slept most of the day away) ![]() No, the binge monster didn't find me, as I said, I was going to hide under the blankets so he couldn't find me! I was totally exhausted last night after working, then having to come home and have a dinner ready on the table for 8 people.. Everything just kind of piled up, and I felt myself losing control (not just with food) Food has always been a comfort to me, and makes me feel better through all kinds of different emotions... So I was just kind of disappointed in myself for letting it get to that point.. I know better.. Today has been much better, and tomorrow I start my round of Atkins, so it's all up hill from here.. Thanks for all the kind words... ![]() Off to have some tea and watch the Survivor finale... ![]()

Morning!
Hi Missy--no going away without telling us! Hope you had fun! Aim--we weigh on Tuesdays and measurements are the first day of each month. Lei--glad you had a nice day off--sounds like you deserved some serious relaxation! I hope your work schedule eases up. When do you start classes? Lisa--wooohoooo on skipping the wontons! I love all those chinese appetizers, very tempting. That's funny that the mean smileys came to mind--maybe I need to have some of those posted around my house and office to ward off naughty eating! I should be able to check in while I'm gone, at least during the first part of vacay as I'll be at my sisters. Alisa--wow, ketosis already! How did you do your re-feed? One meal, or a certain amount of hours, or all day? And, did you make it low fat/high carb or just whatever? Inquiring minds want to know--and I want all the details! Anna--way to go on exercising instead of eating--that is a true victory! Sorry your mom disappointed you. I think that no matter what someones age is, when they are in the first stages of a relationship they act like they are 15 again and lose all sense of priorities! I don't blame you for being upset. b: 2 hb eggs, 2 pumpkin muffins l: large salad w/chicken, bacon, sunflower seeds and sb dressing and jello fluff d: stuffed turkey roll ups (yum!) and yocheese w/strawberries BBL |

Okay, good afternoon everyone!
I just wanted to update what I ate YESTERDAY after me last post, which was a turkey burger with a slice of cheese and then 3 bites (not 3 scoops... just 3 bites) of sugarless ice cream. It turns out that even that much is enough to give me debilitating stomach cramps all night. You all are right though about one thing...... I didn't turn to food this time when I was upset... I went to EXERCISE! Everyone's menu so far sounds really, really good! I've had/am going to have: Meal 1: tiny piece of LC toast with some butter, cinnamon, and sugar ![]() Meal 2: 1/2 sliced cucumber with Italian dressing Meal 3: chopped up turkey breast Meal 4: 2 cups of coffee with cream and splenda, maybe topped with whipped cream and cinnamon Meal 5: turkey burger with cheese Meal 6: steamed cabbage with butter Meal 7: probably eggs or a salad P.S. Teresa - Your menu sounds RIDICULOUSLY good! I am SO going to make pumpkin muffins VERY, VERY soon!!! I LOVE pumpkin pie... any chance they taste like that? ![]() I'll update back later... Hope you all have a good day and stay true to your plan! ![]() |

Hey everyone,
Don't have much time to post tonight, I really need to get to bed. I keep falling asleep in random places, like, standing up at work, or on the bus/train. I have to go for blood tests (but not going until I've finished this placement). I tried really hard with my menu today, cals were still low so had 2 coffees with whipping cream (added 400 cals!). B: 2 bacon, 2 fried eggs L: Fried pork chop, lettuce, coleslaw, cucumber, peppers. D: Fried pork chop, broccoli. 2 cups coffee with milk, 2 cups coffee with whipping cream, 7 cups herbal tea, 1 litre of water. (We have a lot of pork chops... I'm taking another to work tomorrow). Cals: 1270 Carbs: 32 Fat: 98 Protein: 85 (shouldn't have had the coleslaw, 13 carbs just in a little bit of it...!). Exercise: Walked 3 miles today (2 miles to work, an extra mile to go and buy broccoli for dinner, because we had no veg left! See, I am trying!). Oh and I weighed myself today like ya told me to Lei- 194...

![]() Even though your menu says 32 carbs, I would worry about it... Those carbs were from veggy's (unless there was sugar in the coleslaw) Other then that, your menu looks picture perfect!! Curious, what's up with the milk when you have yummy cream available? And YEAH on the going to store for veggy's!! Hope you got extra for the next few days?? ![]() I'll give you a B+ for the day!! ![]() ![]() |

![]() Ni night! Ohh Teresa before I forget, I'm living with my mum and stepdad at the moment cos she's really ill, she was in hospital for a few weeks so I came back home to look after the kids and the horses and keep things running here (she came out of hospital but still isn't well, so I'm still here, months later). Not planning on staying here much longer, just saving some money now till I can get a place closer to my mum's so I'm still around to help but not in the same house all the time (the rent round here is a lot more expensive than what I was paying for closer to uni). I don't weigh myself on different scales usually, I did use the one in the shopping centre all the time at weekend, but then you guys all weigh on a Tuesday the only way I can do that is weighing in the pharmacy in the train station on the way to work, so using that one from now on .Oh and it's not pesky advice lol, I really appreciate it! You guys are really helping me stay on track and helping me realise what I'm doing wrong or could be doing better, you're all a great inspiration . (The only reason I've not had chocolate yet is because I wouldn't wanna come on here and admit it lol, it's a good deterrant!). |

Leanne---so sorry about your mom's illness. How nice of you to step in and help out. So, are you going to college or do you work there? If you go there, what do you want to be when you "grow up?" Or, if you work there, what do you do? You mentioned a lab the other day so I'm guessing that science is involved (by the way, my worst subject!). Your menu is looking better every day and great job on getting in 3 miles! You are going to be losing in no time!
Lei--I think starting anything new is a bit scary (or sometimes a lot scary)--but you'll do great and in a matter of days it will be no big deal. Now, remember, don't let the bullies take your lunch and play nice with everyone! Anna--The pumpkin muffins taste more like pumkin cake/bread/bars--if you've had any of those before. I do have a recipe somewhere for sf pumpkin pie somewhere that is really good. Let me know when you want to make one and I'll dig it out. I too love pumpkin stuff! And exercise instead of food---huge progress in my book! Aim--I'm not sure about the bloated thing and ketosis...but I think that being really thirsty might be one of the things that people talk about. The only symptoms of ketosis I get are I can't sleep and I'm starving, but I am not the norm. I know people say they get a weird taste in their mouths and they have bad breath too, but I drink so much water I never get that either. OK, I haven't contributed much in the way of questions/tips/jokes/etc. so here's a question for everyone--- If you had the choice of one of these free services everyday for a year, which would you choose? a--food made by a personal chef (who specializes in whatever type of eating you choose) catered in for every meal for everyone in your family b--a housekeeper or cleaning person (the kind that does windows and everything else) to take care of your entire home c--a limo driver who took you and your family wherever you wanted at a moments notice d--someone who took care of all your financial stuff--they wouldn't give you the money but they would make sure all your bills were paid on time and attend to any financial affairs that you needed them for (balancing checkbook even!) e--a personal shopper--take care of all the shopping needs for you and your family--heck, they would even take care of some of your non-shopping errands Me--I would pick B. I hate cleaning with a passion! |
