I just weighed myself on two different scales and I'm 195
. I was 189.5 last weekend, it's so frekin frustrating. I'm not weighing myself again until June because at the moment I'm just thinking what's the point... I lose then gain then lose then gain then lose then gain and I'm not changing anything I'm doing I haven't cheated, I haven't had alcohol, blah!!Anyway, I better eat something since I haven't eaten since this time yesterday, and then in a couple of hours I'm going swimming. I feel better for the exercise if nothing else, walking to work every day is doing me good even if it's not showing on the scale. And I love swimming . I just hate swimming costumes .

may I join? I read your rules for being in this challenge and I can handle a kick in the butt and some tough love.
I am 136lbs. I am STILL after 10 years trying to see 125. I quit smoking in Nov. and went from 132 to 136. I have gone from a 127(2) to a 136(4) and it sounds like to many that at 5'5 and 1/2 that is a good weight..BUT I have fibromyalgia and every added pound often feels like 10. I have a size 3 ring finger and a 6 inch wrist. I need to be 120-125 to feel my best and my fram and joints are HATING this 10 lbs difference. I have been in a TON of challenges since I met this board in 99. However, they become too too social(I understand caring about each other...that is wonderful) but when the focus becomes dating, kids, portions of life NOT weight goal oriented 24/7 I feel like ...why am I here in this challenge...Then I joined one with non smokers who wanted to lose weight after quitting...but them that became an issue of "How to Stay Quit" rather than losing weight....to me quitting was easy...even after a 1-2 pack a day habit for 20 years. I DONT have to smoke...I DO HAVE TO EAT. So, Maybe you want to kick me out because I am already sounding like a pain in the butt...I am looking for a challenge that is a WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE...with people who feel like weightloss is the goal. *now....may I please join you?? ![]()

I also see that you are having sugar free sweets, which may also be affecting you, with all the sugar alcohol etc. Perhaps replacing those with some of the homemade treats Lei posted will help appease the sweet tooth and you know exactly what is in it. It's great that you're going swimming. Don't worry about how you look in the swim suit, I think that most people are too worried about how they themselves look, than to be worried about you. They make a lot of swim suits nowadays that are flattering to all kinds of figures, so get one that minimizes flaws/maximizes attributes, feel good about what you are doing for your health, and recognize that you look good!!! I live 20 - 30 minutes away from several beaches, and it used to be that I never went although I love the beach. Then I got over the being self conscious, started to go regularly, and realized that very few people have "perfect" bodies. Most are just normal people just enjoying themselves, and there are a number of "big" women who strut their stuff in a 2 piece without a care in the world. I look at them and think how free they must feel, and I want to emulate them. Not with all my stuff hanging out , but being comfortable with myself in my own skin. KWIM? Quote:

yesterday's menu:
b: 2 salmon cakes, 1 oopsie roll, coffee l: hot wings, garden salad w/ranch dressing, coffee d: steak and smashed cauli water: 3 liters exercise: rest day I realized we haven't seen Lucy in a few. WHERE ARE YOU LUCY, YOU GOT SOME SPLAININ' TO DO!!! ![]() ![]() I have been to doing some reading and thinking (always a dangerous combo for me). Every time I've done LC successfully (mostly Atkins) I lose about 20 - 25 lbs during the first three months, then everything comes to a screeching halt, no loss of pounds or inches for months, and no amount of eating "clean" seemed to help. Then I gave up. From what I'm reading, I think my metabolism adjusts too well to this woe for fat loss. So I am thinking that I should try a slightly different plan this time around, while I'm still making progress and before I get too discouraged and frustrated. So I'm going to try the cyclic ketogenic diet. Basically you eat induction level carbs for 6 days, then on the 7rh day you eat a small amount of carbs, do a glucose depleting workout and refeed w/carbs for the rest of the day. The next day it's back to induction level. The reason why it works is on this thread: Fat loss with ketogenic: cyclical & targeted ketogenic w/weight training I have built my strength enough w/T-Tapp that I think I can use it for my depleting workout. I'm going to start it today and see how it pans out at the end of the week. As for progress, I am down another pound today, but may be retaining some water, because I still have some soreness in my thighs from my wed & thurs workout. My measurements are down slightly and....beware this is ....my double butt has all but disappeared. Yes, I was developing a double butt, you know how you get a double boob when you a spilling out of a too small bra, I was developing something similar on my booty. ![]() And since I never had much booty to begin with, I guess it's my last to gain, first to lose area. Anyhoo, I'm off to work my now single behind off. BBL.... |

![]() I have ben super duper busy, mt carpets were cleaned today so i spent the last couple of days clearing the furniture and cleaning and I am learning how to sew and have been practicing my photography. I"m so tired. Still on plan though. I gained weight probably because I added yogurt this week, I've only had it twice, i hope its just my body getting used to a new food after a few months of not having it. Im sooooooo happy i added dairy back, next week is Kefir. I'm still staying between 20-25g of carbs, i cant seem to go past that. anyhowe just wanted to let you all know that Im still here!!

Hey everyone,
Thank you Alisa, Lei and Lisa. I didn't realise, ok that's a lie straight up, I do know that I don't eat much, because people tell me I don't eat much all the time (I had a salad at work a few days last week and one of the women there was like wow.. that's the most I've seen you eat since you've been here.. A SALAD!), I'm just never hungry. I didn't realise how much of the stuff I eat is processed convenient rubbish . I'm so lazy, Ryvita is just so quick and easy, the peanuts were because my Ryvita went soggy at work lol and that's the only other thing I had with me... I hate cooking. I'm usually not speaking to my mum so whatever she cooks for dinner I refuse to eat (childish I know) and then I can't be bothered cooking for myself. I cooked for everyone yesterday and then didn't eat it because I had an argument with her. Sugar free sweets... I dunno why I eat them, I didn't eat sweets before anyway, so I will drop those. The Atkins chocolate though... it's either that or normal chocolate. I didn't think I ate them that much but seeing all of those menus together... (thank you Lei... ![]() ). I will reduce how many of them I've having, maybe limit myself to one a week, if I really really really really want chocolate.I stopped counting calories and stuff in what I eat because I just get obsessed with calories and freak out if it goes over 1200. I KNOW I shouldn't focus on calories and fat, but I do. Brainwashed. These aren't excuses by the way, they are reasons, and I need to change. I'm going to totally give up the coffee because I'm sure I'm getting a lot of carbs that I'm choosing to ignore from the milk. I have been drinking less coffee but still way too much. Is herbal tea ok or does that have carbs too? I will also start drinking water....! Planning my meals ahead might be a good start, rather than trying to find something at 5 to 6 in the morning to eat for breakfast and something to take to work with me when I have to leave the house at 6. I'll track what I'm eating so I know what I am actually eating rather than guessing whether I've had too many carbs, or not enough protein or calories. It's going to be hard not getting too caught up in calories and fat though. Ok Lei, I will make my menu look like that for the next week. If I get fatter, I will shout at you. Then cry lol. Ok that's enough babbling. My menu for today (and I'm immune from being shouted at today because I didn't read these messages till AFTER I'd already eaten). B: None L: Chicken breast, cauliflower, onion, diet coke, tbsp ketchup, tsp Lea and Perrins, 1/4 cup light whipping cream, tbsp butter (what I made for dinner for everyone yesterday then didn't eat- I had what was left). D: 3 boiled eggs with butter. S: Atkins advantage chocolate brownie bar Cals: 912 Carbs: 14 (I know the Atkins bar has like 14g total but I only count the net carbs in them, otherwise I'd cry, everything else I count total carbs), Fat: 48, Protein: 89 I went swimming . What are oopsie rolls by the way?? (Sorry about the really long post.. if anyone actually reads it all they deserve a medal). |

![]() Just for week, I don't want you to even think about calories or fat consumed in one day..Starting tomorrow, first thing, get on your scale and weigh yourself.. You can keep it to yourself if that makes you feel better, as long as you weigh! I'm going to try and show you, that weightloss CAN be achieved through Atkins, eating calories AND healthy fats.. As for things to eat during the day... Make extra at dinner, and have those for breakfast or lunch...That way you don't have to worry about it at 6 in the morning.. Coffee, you don't have to stop drinking coffee, just when you do have coffee, use half and half, or perferably whipping cream as the whitener, very yummy, filling and NO carbs.. If you like sugar in your coffee, try a SF flavoring of some kind.. (my favorite is vanilla) Tea is also a very good choice for a hot beverage... Or Hot chocolate, yes you can have it if made with cocoa and splenda, AND you can even have a blob of whipped cream in it! Imagine that huh? Eating those kind of things AND losing weight?! Who'da thunk it? (wait till I tell you how much mayo I slather on my omelet in the morning when I'm doing a week of Atkin's) ![]() ![]() Just a week my dear, what do you have to loose? A few pounds would be nice huh? Eat nothing that has sugar on the ingredients list, eat meats till your full, a small salad a day, and veggy's!! Slathered with butter! (butter, not margarine) ![]() Can't wait to see your menu's! I'm excited for you!! ![]() ![]() ETA~ These are better then the rev rolls! Evening all! Only a minute to scan the posts and see we have a newcomer! Welcome Aim--glad to have you here! We do have fun (well, they do, I'm usually working when all the fun happens!) but I think we are a group of gals that are pretty darn serious about losing weight and figuring out how to maintain once we get there--so I think you'll fit right in!
I'm trying to remember my eats for today... b: omelet and OMM w/cr cheese l: hamburger, cottage cheese, green bean casserole d: same as lunch but take out cottage cheese and add pb cheesecake muffin I almost went over the deep end last night. I'm beginning to see that Thursdays and Fridays are hard for me, not exactly sure why. I do fine on the weekends. Maybe it's because my weeks are so long and I just feel like I need a break or something at that point. Anyway, I made it through even after I told myself "who cares" and almost had something very evil. Today I feel fine food/craving wise but remind me that I shouldn't go shopping when I am this close to a binge...those mirrors are really depressing! Luckily I have been up since about 4am (damn ketosis) so I'm exhausted and going to hit the hay soon. I'll check in in the morning tomorrow so I can go back and read all the posts and get caught up. Nighty night! |

Ugh, so sorry I haven't posted! I haven't even had time to get onto the internet today at all! I've felt just kind of "off" and dizzy/tired. I think it is a combination of allergies and this persistent ear infection I have. The antibiotic can cause you to feel a little loopy I guess too (according to the side effects I've read about and me pharmacist).. Yuck, I just can't wait for this allergy season to be over and for me course of antibiotics to be through.
I can't even remember what I ate today... how strange is that!? I think I had an egg with some cheese, some coffee, some toasted flax seeds, and a salad w/ chicken. Not much, but I'm not really hungry. I hope to be able to update more tomorrow and I really hope that all of you are doing well (I haven't had a chance to read all the posts from today yet)!!! Will talk soon! Good night all!
