Teresa: I'm licensed but not accredited yet. It's a looong process and costs $500. I'm going to stay as home daycare. I'll lose a lot of the perks if I switch to center and unless I go to a big center Id be makig less $$

Morning all

Well I am gimping around today. Last night when I went to pick my daughter up at soccer practice I fell in a divet in the ground I did not see and turned my ankle OMG I fell like I was shot. The mom I was with as we had just gone for a walk laughing at me asked if I was okay. I grimmaced and said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. OMG I was embarrassed. It is very swollen and sore today and I am gimping around. My daughter was not overly sympathetic as she laughed at me to. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I went home iced it and had a large rum and diet coke

This morning I weighed and I lost 1.5 pounds. So I am down 10.5 pounds to 209.5. I am happy with that. I am truly in the groove with this right now and feel good about it.

Teresa
I am in induction but doing a lot of lower carb meat and veg days with no cheese, peanut butter etc. I am having cream in my coffee. Which I had no idea how much I realized I missed when trying lowfat again. I am hoping to get close to or under 200 by July 1st ( Canada Day) that may not happen as 9.5 pounds is a lot to lose in a month. 6 pounds at least would be great. I know once I am out of the 200's I will be so proud of myself and happy so that is why I am setting my goal high. We shall see. I was doing a lot of exercise so I am hoping this ankle is not to bad. SIGH

Missy wow daycare. Hats off to you. You have to be a special person to look after kids. Not me I would rather work in a maximum security male jail It sounds like a long and expensive process. I am not sure they do that in Canada. Good luck to you.

cdn gal. I like your post very funny

Well I am off

Breakfast was half a sausage and a piece of chicken. Boy do my co-workers think I am weird LOL

Katie

WOW small world relatives in Guelph. That is pretty cool.

It can be a real challenge trying to fit work, life, a house and dieting in but I am sure we can do it.

I am happy about the weightloss. When I am in onderland I will be ecstatic. I am not finding the eating too bad at this time. So I hope it stays this way. Summer vacation will be tough.

Yup my ankle sure does hurt.

Teresa: I guess the reason that I am still on 20g carbs (net) is because it is easy and comfortable for me. I can just eat without having to think too hard about it. But if it will help me lose faster, then I will do it.

Yesterday's menu:

b. 2 oopsies, cheese, small piece of pork chop. Coffee
l. grilled chicken on garden salad, creamy asiage dressing, coffee
s. hot sausage, 1 oopsie, coffee
d. chicken wings, spinach pie, blue cheese dressing

This has been a day from h*ll and it's not over yet. Only 20 days left till vacation. I can't wait!!

Lisa--for the last couple of days I have been shooting for 1800 calories and 30 net carbs. I'm not too great at the counting stuff so it's pretty rough but I'd say I'm pretty close to that. Tomorrow I will up the carbs to about 40 net and by Monday I plan to be back to around 50-60 net which is my norm--but I'm going to try to stick with the 1800 cals until I get some of this bloat off at which point I'm guessing I'll go back to over 2000. I agree, I think stevia is a much better alternative, I need to work on figuring out how to use it! I also need to get rid of diabetesweet and start using xylitol but I just haven't made the switch yet.

Katie--whoohooo on the 1.5 down! I bet you will be seeing onederland in July!! Sorry about the ankle, that stinks. Hope you are up and fully functioning on it soon!

Alisa--I can't swear that upping the carbs will work, but it might. When I first upped mine the scale didn't budge for a week, and then I started losing faster than ever. I didn't add in 5 per day, instead I added about 20 every 2 or 3 days. So like I ate 30 carbs every day but say Tues and Sat and on those days I ate 1/2 an apple with breakfast and 1/2 with lunch bringing my carbs to around 50 on those days. It worked really well for me, I think without knowing it I was getting a cycling effect. Anyway, it's one of those YMMV kind of things but since this whole things is like one big experiment (figuring out our confusing bodies!) I always figure it's worth a try as long as it doesn't set off cravings.

Missy---were you referring to our heads then?!

Lisa--if you want any tips on upping those calories--let me know. I seem to be the queen of not having a single problem getting plenty of calories in!!

Lei--how's it going? Are you exhausted yet?

Gonna go check out the boards, bbl!

Hey girls! SO SORRY!!!!! I haven't been posting because I've been horribly sick! I've been sleeping like 16 hours a day (and I would sleep longer if I didn't have work and school), and then when I'm not sleeping, I've been going to work or school! I think I might have vitamin deficiencies or something other than just anemia (I need to start taking me iron supps again).

I really have been sticking to plan exceptionally well though... not that I really see too many physical fruits of me labors... It'll all come in due time I suppose.

I really will try to get on here more often, but maybe can I take the first week of the June challenge off? I'll still stick to plan of course, but I want to give meself time to recover so that I don't let you all down and break the challenge rules.

I hope all is well with everyone else, and I look forward to posting again soon (if you'll have me back! )...

Yes, I am totally exhausted... Got home made dinner, did an hour's homework, and now I am heading for bed.. Geesh, it's only 8:19 here right now and I'm heading to bed.. Does that answer your question? 4:30am comes way too early...
Today we spent 7 hours in the lab, and I really think my brain is in over-load mode right now!
I apologise for not doing personal's tonight, but I just can't do it... Brain is not functioning properly.... I'll try to come back on in the am, when I can sleep off some cob-webs first...

Lisa~ Because it was funny, thats why!! (fishy's down the commode)

hi,

im experimenting with increasing my fats. i tend to eat a lot. i tried doing all meat all the time, but i don't think its such a good idea because i was eating a bunch of protein and the whole gluconeogenesis thing bothered me. im trying for over 65% fat. i am up way too late right now. heres my menu for tomorrow:

1: 1.33 oz 20% fat beef + 1 tbspn butter
2: same
3: same
4: 2.5 oz whipped cream + davinci's
5: 3 large eggs + 1 tbspn butter
6: 2 tbspn coconut oil + davincis
7: 2 oz flank steak

figure skating for about an hour.

1552 cals, 148 fat (86%), 2g carb (0%), 55 g protein (14%)

i wanna see if this stops my unquenchable hunger via mini meals and lots of fat.

i also need to not chew so much gum.

Morning all

OH thank goodness it is Friday.
My ankle is much much better today so that is good.
Last night I hobbled around and got the lawn cut. Hubby and a neighbor were building a base to the new shed we ordered. Then I had to take my oldest to soccer practice. It was a busy night.

On the way home from work today I am stopping to get my annuals. I will be happy to have them in and done as they look so nice. Tomorrow it is supposed to rain. My oldest and I are volunteering at the soccer club early then hubby and I are cleaning the garage. YUCK

My eating is going well. I am feeling good so that is wonderful. I hope to get out of the 200's sometime in July. Though the first week of July we are going to New York and Sauge Harbor. So I will do my best to eat lowcarb. I have to.

That is it here.

CDNgal What are you taking at school. It sounds like a really hectic schedule

Poly good luck with increasing the fats. I never get the hunger I did on lowfat. So I find that weird for you. Upping the fat should help.

Teresa I count carbs but not calories. That is why I like Atkins. As I get farther along in months and weightloss calories will probably have to be counted to. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Yup glad about the weightloss. Come on underland

Well I am off

Well come back Anna. I hope you start to feel better.

Katie

Hi Poly and welcome! I too am trying to figure out how to get rid of the hunger but tons of protein and fat just doesn't do it for me--it actually makes me hungrier. I seem to be one of those exceptions to the rule! You figure skate---how cool!!

Lei--do you have to work this weekend? I hope not, you need some well deserved rest!

M1 2 pumpkin muffins and hb egg
M2 yocheese
M3 salad w/grilled chicken, sunflower seeds and SB dressing and nut cluster
M4 green bean casserole and hb egg
M5 egg casserole and OMM
M6 creamsicle

Yep, I need to slow down on the eggs cause I'm getting sick of them--but it's what I have made up right now so I'll just hang in there a couple more days!

Question of the day:
If you lurk on this board--do you find that there are people that you are automatically interested in or that you find yourself rooting for?
Me--yes! I haven't had much time to lurk in the last few months, but on the occasions that I do there are a few challenges (mostly in the Century Club) that I automatically go read because there is a person or two or three in that challenge that I just really want to see succeed! It's not that I don't want that for everyone, but somehow I must just relate or somehow feel connected to them. If they haven't checked in for awhile or if they are stuggling I really get bummed out. That's such a weird thing when you think about it, they don't even know I exist yet they have that kind of affect on me. Anyway, just wondering if I'm the only weirdo on this one!

Katie---good morning! Glad your ankle is doing better! Is your trip in July for a vacation or business? Hope it's vacation! Yeah, I've only recently started looking at calories--and I hate it! I hope to one day just figure out what is the right balance of things to take care of my bodies needs and not have to think about any numbers----that would be fantastic!

Holy cow people, where are you all? I'm rescuing us from ending up on page 2. I don't know why but I hate that...actually I think it's because shortly before a challenge dies out it ends up on page 2 frequently---I don't want that to happen, I need you people!!

Carry on.

heyyyyyy

so for M3 instead of *more* ground beef, i had 4 oz boar'shead roastbeef+corned beef and 1 oz cheese, so that changed my totals a bit:

1648 cals, 144 g fat (79%), 2 g carbs (1%), and 83 g protein (20%).

have not chewed one stick of gum today! also wasn't too hungry thanks to that M2. i am doing this super low carb thing for 14 days....kind of a pre-induction...after 14 days i plan on doing real induction for 14 days and going from there...

Hey!! Afternoon all! Today so far I've had a cauliflower omelet and 3 cups of coffee (I did get up late though which is why I haven't eaten too much). I'm going to go walking around the mall today for exercise!

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!!

Happy Friday People!!!

Yesterday's menu:
b. steak sandwich w/mayo on oopsies, coffee
l. fried pork chop, spinach pie, plain greek yogurt w/davinci's
s: cheese on oopsie, hot sausage
d. chicken wings, avocado and tomato salad, coffee

Teresa, I thought about upping the carbs, and I'm willing to give it a try. I had extra tomatoes yesterday to bring the net carb count up to 25. I'm also considering trying another carb cycle. I did not lose anything the last time, but maybe I didn't carb up enough or maybe I need to do it for longer period. Cycling carbs helped me somewhat in the past, but then I did a moderate increase for several days and then dropped back to induction levels. So maybe I'll carb up for the next couple of days and then drop back 20 - 30 carbs...I think I'll make the decision in the morning after I weigh in...I dunno, I'm feeling kinda scared of carbs right now.
