Morning...! Errr, afternoon ! I'm studying for me physics final, so I'm horrified to report that I did a bit of "convenience eating" this morning. I ate the last 1/4 of the low carb lemon cake I made last night (it was a 6-inch cake). I did calculate it though, and it was 5 carbs and 240 calories. Not as bad as I was expecting, but I'm disappointed in meself. Now I'm on me 2nd cup of coffee.... But I'm not using that as an excuse to eat like crap for the rest of the day -- I'm going to make a hamburger and broccoli for lunch!!!!! I'll come back and update when I'm eating it.

Looks like we need a Ginko intervention in this thread!

Today I made stir fried veggies in toasted sesame oil. Yummy in the tummy!!! Why did it take me so long to discover sesame oil???

Today's menu:
b. repeat meatloaf sammy on oopsies, coffee
s. 1.5 once pack smoked almonds
l. 2 boiled eggs, 1/2 avocado, ceasar salad, coffee
s. 1 piece sugar free gum
d. pot roast, veggie stir fry, crystal lite
w: working on my 4th liter
exercise: T-Tapp basic workout

I so did not want to today, even though the workout is 15 minutes. A tough 15 minutes, but the pain does not last long. I dwelt on the feeling of not wanting to workout for a while, then I decided to examine why I felt that way. After a couple minutes of quiet introspection one thought came to mind: self-sabotage. After I realized that, I affirmed that self-sabotage no longer has a place in my life, and the resistance faded away. Totally an a-ha moment.

Alisa--good for you--those a-ha moments are so important!

Hope everyone had a good day. I'm exhausted so only time for menu.

b--n/a
l--ate out, omelet and fruit cup
d--chicken/brocolli casserole and bagel

Oh yeah---tomorrow is National Chocolate Chip day here in the US. Unfortunately we don't get the day off or anything (LOL), but I did make sugar free peanut butter chocolate chip muffins tonight for my staff. I don't usually take them anything unless I've made it before and think they're good but I haven't tried these yet...hopefully they are OK!

Gotta go get some zzzzzzzz's. Good night!

I know, I know!!!!! Admittedly, that's always been me problem! I think I convince meself that what I'm "cheating" with is healthy.... and what's hard is the fact that it IS healthy, just not LEGAL at the stage I'm at! Today there have been ZERO cheats though, and I'm going to work much harder to be prepared so that I don't just turn to those convenience foods. Today I had a broccoli omelet in butter and olive oil! I'm so full, and I'm not craving anything. I might have coffee in about an hour or so to keep me awake.

Now that I'm in the ketosis (I even tested on one of those strips last night to confirm ), I know that me appetite is dying down so I won't be craving things. The odd part is that I haven't even been craving the cheats I've eaten in the past week or so; I was just hungry so I started to snack on convenient crap.

On another note though, YOU didn't really eat anything yesterday! 1018 calories?!?!!?!?! I'll spare you the kick in the butt because you didn't kick me arse to the curb, LOL.... ........ And because I don't want to get a retaliation beating later today! *looks around nervously* LOL!!

Here's your lunch. *hands over brown paper bag* Now don't pick on any of the little kids, don't play in the mud during recess, listen to your teacher, and be a good girl! HHAHAHAHAA!! Be sure to update us on how it was! I'm dying to know! I'm sure it'll be great and so much fun! ........... Assuming that you won't be having any physics finals. lol

Afternoon everyone!

Just a quick minute between meetings--

b: 2 hb eggs, yocheese
l: fried chicken salad w/h.m. dressing and pb cheesecake muffin and 1/2 a pb choc chip muffin (they were pretty darn good!)
d: chic/broc casserole, jello fluff and cottage cheese

Anna--are you getting in trouble again?

Lei--have fun at school, and make sure to follow all the rules/guidelines that Anna has laid out for ya!

Lisa--EAT!!! and get rid of the sf lifesavers!!! I'll work on getting you those recipes tonight.

Missy--Hi!

Hopefully I'll have time tonight to go back and read up on the last couple of days, I feel like I'm behind. Did Lucy ever check in?

I invited a friend from another challenge to come and join us---Dreamcometru. She is a fantastic person who has lost a lot of weight and is also in the last part of this journey (as far as the weight loss part goes). Hopefully she will pop in--if she does, please everyone behave yourself and play nice!

...good job on staying cheat free.....as for me, Hey!!!......since when we kicking butts for low calories.....seriously though ...I was craving chocolate so much yesterday that i preferred not to go in the kitchen lest I be tempted.......it's a good thing i drank a gallon on koolaid in the evening because my calories would have been under 1000cals.....for me my main focus is for my body NOT to feel hunger.................it's already 2pm and all i have had for the day is a protein shake so i know I need to step things up...but I have no appetite.

OK so this brings me to todays question:

DO YOU EAT EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT HUNGRY?

I try to only eat when hungry and it took me a loooong time to distinguish between hunger and appetite..............some days i eat like there will be no tomorrow, but these days I barely have an appetite.....except for the wrong things

Thanks! Oh sorry re: buttkicking ... I was adhering to the 'ol "If you don't eat 1200 calories a day, the world will surely come to an end" rule that I've had drilled into me throughout me life! But since that's no longer in play I suppose, then congrats on doing such a GREAT job staying within your limits!

As for your question... that's a good one! I DO eat when I'm not hungry, only when I'm in ketosis. That's because if I only ate when I WAS hungry, I don't think I'd ever really eat! I try not to go more than 5-6 hours without eating during the day. Certainly I wouldn't gorge on food when I wasn't hungry... Just a small snack, a slice of cheese, a few bites of a hamburger or this or that. You know. Otherwise I listen to me body -- if I'm hungry I eat, if I'm not, I don't. I really think I've gotten better with that!

re: question of the day!

I don't eat unless I'm hungry usually. Only exception is breakfast during weekdays. I usually drink protein shake whether I'm hungry or not just to wake myself up.
