Hey guys,

I had a hell of a nice surprise when I stepped on the scale this morning. I saw 300.4 for the first time in a long time. Probably for a good three years. I know that weight jumps around day by day and I could be 302 by tomorrow, but damn was that nice to see.

The weekend is our chance to prove our commitment. Stay strong, or admit that you're a wimp.

I really dont know why I b**** and moan about going to the gym. I think its the aspect of actually putting gym clothes on, and driving the 2 miles to get to it that I dont like. As once I get there, I actually enjoy myself a lot. Every day I go in and lift its like discovering something new. I hadn't done dumbbell military press in almost 4 months so I decided to throw it into my shoulder sets today and holy crap, I was putting up 50lbs an arm no problem.

Also found out today that I am within 5 pounds of being skinnier than one of my roomates. My new goal, weigh less than him by the time I move out in two weeks. The race is on I think.

CTI I'm 5'11" and thanks for the compliment. I just weight a lot inherently. Heavy frame, big ribcage and stuff, but I'm not especially muscular or anything. I can also hide quite a gut under that ribcage as well. I had a body fat analysis done many years ago that said I'd weigh 179 at 0% bodyfat. So I don't know what sort of reference that gives you.

That picture is actually from a charity calendar me and a few of my friends put together for an organization that helps indigent people get legal services (raised about $1k). You'll all be thankful that it's a major crop. The full pic has my skis crossed in a very strategic position and the only additional clothing I have on are my gloves!

Not So Big D, most recently I've practiced family law (not exactly my choice). Long story how I ended up there, but in law school and after I worked as an IP and Corporate attorney. Just found out that I'm flying out to NY next week for that interview which will get me back to IP work, this time in-house with a major company. Those of you who pray, please do! Those who don't, wish me luck!

Hmm Im only an inch shorter, and also fairly large built. Hopefully I'll end up ok.

Skis though? Come on, you must have just done that for the shoot, boarding is so much more fun. And good luck with the job. It seems many of us are in the job market/hunt lately.

Harley Checking In.

I made it home last night from OH and found out my trip to Rutgers U. was postponed for next week, so as of right now, I am in town and home for a whole week. It's going to be great.

Eats are going well and the weather is absolutely perfect today. I was able to drive the cycle in and went for a ride during lunch. It was hard to come back, but I did.

Work hard this weekend gents! Don't slow down!

Harley Out!

Well I've been skiing since I was about 4 and actually got really good at snowboarding at one point. I liked it but the whole new-school ski movement was just starting (twin-tip skis, no spandex) so I just kept going with skiing. Skis in the park and halfpipe are the **** when you have twin-tips. Also wider skis have changed powder and backcountry skiing entirely. I wear all snowboard clothing but can't get the sticks off my feet!

Yeah I'll let you all know about the job next week after I get back from the interview. Look forward to Monday's weigh-in as well! Hope you all have a great weekend!

I guess....

I haven't been in a year or so. Last time I was up, I broke 4 ribs and it ended the season for me. I found a new sport though, armature AMA super sport racing. Im trying to get into it, but I cant find a set of leathers big enough for me at the moment, so my action is limited to the street. Im hoping that once I drop another 40 lbs or so, I can get a full suit and hit the track!

Ugh, gross. Yeah that'll pretty much do it for your season. I didn't get up at all this year either and I live about 2 hours from the closest resort. Pretty much sucked.

AMA sounds like it'd be a blast. How does one get into the sport (nevermind the leathers)?

Buy a bike. LOL, sorry had to drop it. Gotta decide what route you want to go, if you actually want to get into the AMA then the regs are a lot more strict with what you can run. I pretty much plan on just showing up for track days so the rules are a bit more lax.

Your bike has to meet certain specs, safety mostly, and there is a laundry list of them. Gotta have the right gear, which includes a one piece leather body suit. Then start showing up for track days at a race track. Usually they run three different classes; A, B, C. You'll start out in C which is the beginner class, and depending on how the officials/instructors feel you rate within that class, they will move you up/down as they see fit. When you get to the A class, its time to sign up for the AMA. Fork out a ton of cash, go run in a qualifying heat, you make time, you're in for the race.

The trick is being located where a lot of the AMA races take place. I wont be near any of them, so as much as I'd love to get fully into it, I'll probably have to stick to just local track days of the A group eventually.

Hey guys. Been busy as hell lately. Things are good however. Hope everyone is feeling great and doing well. Heading out to the Preakness now, I'll check in later. Went out to dinner to Morton's Steakhouse, took four of my buddies, thought I'd be a stud and pick up the check, $400 bones. Yikes. But it was awesome, best prime rib. That and broccoli is like $70 bucks. It's a protein bar for breakfast this morning. Eats and work outs going good.

Good morning men.

My trip to the parents house got cancelled. The little one is sick. It's just me and the boys this weekend as the wife is out of town at a baby shower.

Corpus, family law is one area that I could never do. Clients are often irrational, but nothing beats a divorce for ridiculousness. Good luck on that IP position. Would you be working in NYC if you got it? That's a great place for a young person to live. Especially if you've got a little dough.

Good morning....

So in the middle of last night I wake up with a horrible charlie horse in my right calf. Spent 30 min trying to stretch it out, but still no luck. Sucks as I was planning on going to the gym today to run and do my leg routine.

Not sure if I should just skip today, or sub in a different set for the day.

CRAMPS...

in case you are unfamiliar....

CTI - potassium + cal/mag/zinc combo regularly.

ESPecially:
if you use a water pill/
doing lo-carb/
really hard, sweaty workouts.
(You shouldn't need diuretic if salt intake is normal and you 'do' good water)

check 'cramp threads' for other info
(see Doc - he prescribes potassium supp. for me - somewhere it says too much potassium can cause heart flutters or other jazz - need right dosage.)
But I rarely cramp when my pot/cal/mag is taken - in fact, 'pre-cramp sensation/pulse' tells me I've been forgetting it.

Ken, finger's crossed for 'getting your props' re: work.

All you walking wounded ........

keep walking....

and get well.

All you Losers......kutgw.

-mack out

Thanks Mack. I take a multi vitamin every day that has all those in it. I think its just me being crampy.

No I'd actually be living and working out of my home here in Colorado. It'd be a great gig, especially considering gas prices. It would also require a bit of travel to NYC and Silicon Valley but then, all costs once I leave the crib are covered. It would be really incredible for me. It would also make working out and eating well really easy. Lunch, go for a bike ride (I think I'm going to get back into racing), 5pm, head up to the living room for some PS3. I'm pretty excited at the prospect.

Yeah family law is the worst. It's a cross between being a family counselor and a babysitter. I literally hated each and every day. Even the rewards didn't make the job worth it...

What type of law do you practice?

" I think its just me being crampy...."

Surely you do not mean time of month... who's on duty for Croc Dundee gender check?
Wapiti? Dramus? Randy?

j/k

CTI - okay, but what are the mg's?
I take 10meq (750 mgs) potassium w/ min. 600 mg cal/mag.
My cramps were intense - unbelievable. Crippling.
Now no problem.
If it persists - recurs- try an additional supplement.
Cheap enough.
Good luck, Bud.

Corpus, ir you are game - post a full shot (legs) of your avi on the recently bumped up 'do you have great legs' thread.
Randy did it -( got a good will ambassador rating).
Keep that thread going, Bro.

Checking in. Things are going good. Hope every one is doing well. I have been on the hunt for a mole that is leaving tracks all through my front yard. This thing loves my yard. I keep flattening the tracks, but they just reappear the next morning.

Adam, since it has been 3+ years since @ 300 does that qualify for VFZ?
VFZ #1 - now goal for VFZ#2...

Ken, sounds like conditioning going great.
I hate it that just one of my legs weighs more than you... j/k.
I hope Camp Charlie forgives me for just popping in and busting stones and not 'reporting'
weigh-ins and such.
Having issues.
(frustration, shame, disgust...lol)
Actually been back on track after a pathetic winter, to wit: writing AND weight control.

Ken, Ed, old timers....feel free to structure a 'reward-promotion' system. Mini-goals, conditioning kudos, etc... relapse 'pull a stripe' motivational 'court'...haha
I've been out of it for a while. Doug H and you guys kept this men's thread going.
Snag the Sarge icon and utilize ...whatever.
I just mention this, Shiner, because of your recognition of Adam's great display of control at a party.
Shout out to veteran visitor's - Star, 24fan, SNARKs and WITs and other ladies (that I've missed in months past) stopping by.

Big D, Harley, newer guys...have a nice Sunday.

Oh not supersport. Cycling actually. I raced and rode a ton all through my teens but for some reason when I turned 20 I thought it would be more fun to get fat and start drinking and smoking weed and stuff. It was a great life-choice clearly. I guess college happens.

Plus I got REALLY burned out on cycling the last year. Racing all the time, riding 500+ miles/week. Anyway it would have been nice if I'd stuck with it all through my 20s. Likely wouldn't have gained 50 lbs!

I know what you mean. I moved 2000 miles from home, joined a fraternity and instantly added 50 pounds. Drinking and partying/eating out 4 nights a week really wasn't a good idea.
