Kaye - yep, it's dirty!

MK - nope - no countdown for me yet, but 27 days till DD18 is done with school.

Kelly - I can't believe those girls.....oh wait, yes I can!!!

Debbie - Those kids ARE young, but that doesn't suprise me at all....sad though, isn't it?

Went with DD18 to run errands for senior ball, which is in a week - I think she is set! Although if someone has a cute silver clutch we could borrow.....

To my beautiful, short friends

The whole AI thing is right now although David Cook is still there and I am rooting for him, so that is

...and who doesn't love Niel Diamond

Kaye, I haven't cleaned out my flower beds yet either-the weather is just not cooperating!

Cindy-am I being silly? What begins today?

Debbie, Saved by the Bell is still on TV? Your son running will be GREAT for him! Kids are drinking a lot younger these days-I work with 7th graders and there have been more than one in drug programs-sad, eh? I agree-expulsion is not what they need-a drug rehab program with community work, etc would be much better for them.

Becky, I myself am a Tweety fan-so much so that I have a tattoo of him on my back...something about being small but mighty (smarts are everything!)

Kelly, going out for coffee with my best bud is my favorite thing to do! Good for you doing that, it is fun and relaxing and well deserved!

MK, something about your post to Kelly about the girls fighting gave me a funny image...a shorty mud wrestling contest I bet Kaye would do it!

Thanks for all the compliments on the house-it is not ALWAYS that clean and clutter free. Personally I like a bit of clutter (it feels more like home rather than a museum), but you don't want that when people are coming in to look at it.
As far as finding a house in KS-no problem, lots of pretty houses and we can get something quite a bit bigger as houses go for a lot less there than here. We will be able to have a big yard, too

Hi guys, Tweetie has a ticking heart again, it just took a battery. I have a tweetie watch somewhere that plays the looney tunes but I can't find it. Wonder if it's in my vanity.

Mom is coming tomorrow afternoon to play with Alyssa. Alyssa is starting to call her "G" now, Kim wanted her to call her G.G. (for Great Grandma) but she's decided to shorten it I guess. LOL. Of course, I was going to be Gramma and she's calling me Mammaw and I know now that she CAN say Grandma cuz she was calling Tweetie's Granny lady "grandma" tonight. So she's just nicknamed me as well I guess. haha.
Ange, that's funny that you're a Tweetie fan too. I had a parakeet that lived to be 14 and he was a lime color with a yellow head and I named him Tweetie. He died about 3 years ago, but he WAY outlived the normal expectancy for a parakeet.

Cindy, in the movie Camelot, Guinevere has a May Day party where she sings the song, The Lusty Month of May and all her lady friends and their dates are singing and dancing and snuggling. That is one of my favorite all time movies, I LOVED Richard Harris. He also played the first Dumbledore in Harry Potter.

Getting back to Tweetie, wouldn't you think with me having 11 birds that my 2 cats would sit there licking their lips just wanting a chomp out of them? They sit at the patio door chattering their jaws at the birds outside, but for some reason the birds inside must be off limits to them. Of course, that would mean that Merlin would have to get off his fat butt to catch one and Guinie is probably too apauled to get her paws dirty, she takes so many baths a day it's a wonder her belly isn't one big fur ball.

TGIF!
Won't be doing any outdoor _________ on the second day of May as it appears nasty thunderstorms are on the way, and already on Cindy and MK. At least it's warmer, in the 60s already this morning.

Yes Ange, I'm in for mud wrestling! (and jello and whipped cream and anything else that would be fun to wrestle in!!) I'm a strong little thing!

Becky, I love hearing about Merlin! You need to post a pic of him sometime, next to a ruler or something for scale!
And I met Richard Harris and got his autograph when he was playing in Camelot here in Kalamazoo years ago!

Deb, That's nice DS would like to run as well, you could be the 'running family'!! Do you have any events this weekend?

Kelly, how busy are you this weekend? Swimming and such? Soon all those 'end of the year' activities start swamping the schedule. I have a couple nieces graduating this year.

Speaking of: What's a standard high school grad gift to a niece/nephew? $50?? Don't know, help please.

Must go wake the girls and start the routine. ugh. Have a super Friday and will see you this afteroon. K

Morning Short People!

For some reason I am in a really good mood this morning! Hope nothing ruins it.

Kaye and Becky are right on track with the first of May - everyone chants it around here.

Yep - rain and ick today, but warm - can't win. Tomorrow rain too and Sunday sunny and 60.

Kaye - I think for niece/nephew $50 is good; that's what we did/do for all but the couple that we are really close to, and they got $100......and then thanks to MK, all the rest of the kids that we have to give to will get the check written out for, this year............20.08..........LOVE THAT!

MK - let's see the clutch! We cannot find one that doesn't look cheap, that is big enough and doesn't cost a fortune!! DD is SO excited about Senior Ball! I cannot wait for pics!

Ange - Me too with Idol - hoping David C takes it all!

Kelly - My favorite thing is to meet my good friend down the street for coffee - we can spend up to three hours sitting there and still aren't done talking. It's my favorite way to waste time!

Today I have a few appts, tonight is the football game, and tomorrow I think I am going to get my new shoes for working out......Did I tell you I signed up for our big marathon in town The Bellin? Need to get the shoes and break them in before then (6/14).

And weren't we doing a challenge for May? What is it???

Yep - the storms started about 4:00am - but it is warm.
Tomorrow sunny but only 58 - Brrrr!

$50 is good - $25 if you're feeling poor . . . .

And of course the $20.08!

I still don't know what word to insert but I do get the nature of the word.

Cindy, go to a real running store. Do not get shoes at Foot Locker or Sports Authority. Shoes need to be specific to your foot. If you don't have a high arch or flat feet you will likely need a neutral running shoe and they will cost you around $80-$85.

Kaye, did you ask about my weekend? My husband is race director for a trail 5K Sunday so guess who is getting up around 5am to help him and then working 3-11?

Ange, we are David Cook fans too. I think David A sings well and is a cute young guy but he doesn't have the sexy factor.

Becky, that is alot of birds to clean up from. My friend has two little green mini birds she names after foods. One is Apple and the other Kiwi. The one had the messed up wing from when it was clipped but is doing fine.

MK, oh yes the May challenge. Well I am trying to run less but I did 6.4 miles last night at a faster pace then planned. I am only doing 6 tomorrow for a long run but who knows maybe I can get in another mile.

Speaking of tomorrow. It is my cousin's baby naming. I am skipping the temple ceremony and going to my aunt's at 1p with youngest. He is wearing khaki cargo pants and a golf shirt and his sneakers because I never had time to get him anything else. I did buy him a belt for 9.99 at TJ Maxx.

He ran almost 5 miles last night. He walked and ran. Problem is he goes too fast and can't keep it up. I hope he keeps it up!

Kelly almost every Saturday morning we meet a huge group of running friends at Panerra and sit for a few hours over bagels and coffee( tea for me). We take over a whole row of tables and often need another round one right next to it.

I am working today. I have to pay my bills and my husband will bank for me. My check was smaller since I took time off.

I stayed up last night making one more batch of oatmeal cookies and will make two more once I have more sugar, butter and flour. I am hoping my family doesn't eat them all. I figure one batch for them and three for the race.

Then my oldest and I tried to break the clue for Where in the World is Matt Lauer but we weren't right. So I didn't get to bed until 12:30. I did sleep well though.

Barb, hope you are off this weekend. I am working 4 less hours but only because I am going in late Sunday. I hope I didn't offer to stay until 11p Monday to make up the hours.

Better go pay the bills. I am so a creature of routine. Maybe I can give my husband a grocery list. He is off today but he is going into work for a bit and then has to do race things. I am not sure when I can grocery shop because I am so busy tomorrow.

It will be in the 70s here today. Rain coming tomorrow afternoon and could be raining on race day Sunday morning. Hope that 50% is on our side for the race!

Morning girls, have a busy day today, so just a quick

We have a somewhat quiet weekend scheduled. Today, however... I have a PTA meeting at the other elementary school to talk about transitioning to MS, then late this afternoon, we have the pool dedication ceremony! But, as of right now, we have no sports, or practices or anything! I'm so glad, cause last weekend was super hot (above 90) and DS14 had 4 games spread over 2 days!

No complaints for today's weather here, its sunny and about 75 with beautiful blue skies! (will be nice for this afternoon's pool dedication at the HS!)

MK, that was my thought, especially since we have no a/c!

Debbie, I agree with MK, it always takes time and practice to learn to pace yourself. He'll get it soon!

Cindy, WTG signing up for the marathon! Woo Hoo! I love to sit and chat with friends over coffee too! Did DD find the right clutch?

Kaye, the end of the year activities are already in the planning stages. We have the end of season party next week (at my house, natch) and I got the letter from the hard at work promotion cmte in the mail today. Those will be the biggies for my kiddos this year. Of course, DS10 likes to end the school year by throwing a big ole party in our pool, but that's easy, it only requires a minimally clean house and asking people to bring stuff with them or chip in for pizza.

Becky, I like Tweety too, but really I'm a Mickey fan at heart.

Ange, too funny, shortie mud wrestling, but we're all too nice right? I agree, a house that looks too neat just isn't warm and inviting! I love it when my house is full of happy kid noise and the chaos that goes with it!

Hey Gang!

Waiting for DH to get home as we are meeting our friends before the game for dinner - Mexican tonight; I can't wait!

DD did find a clutch - thanks for asking Kelly. She ended up with one that we had originally looked at at either Claire's or Icing......and we ran at lunch today for makeup and hair color, so I think we are set.

Yep, rainy, damp and cold today........ICK!!

I'm very tired tonight, had Mom over to "play" with Alyssa today. I'll have her most of the weekend so that they can hopefully finish packing. She was a hoot today, Mom had a blast with her, it's so fun to watch my Mom with her.

John isn't going to Arizona now, too many problems on a program that they're working on and there's 2 new customers coming in next week and he wants to be there for that. He's never been to Arizona so he was looking forward to seeing it, but it didn't work out this time. I'm sort of glad though, he's going to be gone the week of July 4th and Labor Day week too, so I wasn't looking forward to him leaving this week. Now, I'll have to wait til July to watch my 5 new DVD's. I asked off for a couple of days in July when he goes to paint my birdroom and hang new border up, but of course, I'm SURE the management will find some reason for me not to be able to take off. I don't know why we even get vacation time if they can't accomodate us.

My friend joined WW last night, Sunday if it's nice we're going to go walking together. John will have to watch Alyssa so that I can go, we're going to meet at the daycare and walk around the neighborhood there, it's a very nice neighborhood, so that will be fun. She's only about maybe 20 I think, I think she might be 21 in July. She has a 3 year old and I think she was about 17 or 18 when she had him. But I weigh about 3 pounds more than she does, so at least we're pretty comparable, except that she's got the younger metablism and I'm dealing with hypothyroidism. But I'm sure if I get more active and with warmer weather coming soon, it will help.

Well... it rained for part of the day, but I got a chance to let Alyssa swing this afternoon as soon as I got home from work. Never did get the wagon ride in, I would have done that instead if Mom wasn't coming over, but she'd just left WW and was going to McDonalds for salads for us and I didn't want her sitting in her car til we got home. She has a key but won't use it, she always says, "I can sit in my car and read til you get here," even though I still have a key for her house (she and Dad never asked for it back when I moved out to get married, although John's step-dad was standing at the door when he moved out with his hand out for the key. We're the only ones of the kids that he's never asked to borrow money from, and it's a good idea for him that he hasn't). If we get a break in the rain tomorrow I may take her a wagon ride.

Going to go to bed now, baby will be here as soon as she wakes up.

off to run, then go to bagels, pick up truck for race and get home to shower and to to baby naming luncheon. Then I need to grocery shop, make more oatmeal cookies, dinner, iron and call it a day!

Happy Saturday. I like being busy but not stressed. Hopefully the day will be stress free.

Morning!

Late night last night.....but had a lot of fun. Another couple we are good friends with were at the game and we invited them to sit with us, so that just increased the merriment!

I actually slept in a bit today too.....but feel like I am still tired.

Becky - that is cool about your young friend joining you on WW - you can motivate each other!

Well DH is off to the office, DD20 is off to a public appearance for the dance team, DD18 is off to Milwaukee with her DBFs sister and husband to see DBF for the day......ME? I am heading to the grocery store and the mall to get my new workout shoes and pick up some pants I have on hold.....

Sunny out now, but forecast is for rain.

What's up in your world?
