Well, I'm sure that you will enjoy it, as it has seemed that your heart is there.

Houses in Holland are all brick and concrete. Row houses are very common. If you rent, then you sign up on a waiting list in order to get a house and it goes by need and length of time. For example, oma was number one on the list for a year but since they tore down some housing, those people went ahead of her. When you rent, you put in your own flooring, light fixtures and wallpaper as well as appliances.

Sort of like how we eat. If we stop eating this way, we go back to the before in our health and appearance.

Oil pulling isn't a quick fix. It's not a one time deal. It's supposed to be a form of Hygene. It's the best way to clean our teeth, gums and mouth. If we stop...Well, things go back to how they were before, with the bacteria etc.
So, it just seems like they are worse? I grew accustomed to the "just left the Dentist" feeling every day?

Soooo. Are you going to rent? Is that a more common thing to do there?

I could only face 10g carb at meal no 4, and I don't think I'll manage 20g at dinner, either. I've been keeping my carbs down for so long, that it feels really strange to eat more. This steady pace throughout the day is definitely different from just diving into the carbs, though. I am going to keep working at it, but it will just take a bit of time to get there! I feel really full, as if I've eaten lots, but I'm only up to 1000 calories so far, so even adding in dinner, it's not going to be all that much.

When I was losing weight, it seemed to go drop fast. I felt sort of jittery, and my muscles seemed like jelly. I kept asking question on the boards, and trying all the recommended combinations of potassium and magnesium, but nothing really helped. Even after 6 month I was still having problems, so it wasn't just the "induction flu" thing. After that I kept to about 60g per day, and that did seem to help. That's what I've been doing for about the last four years, but I wish I'd had the Schwarzbein book back then, when I was struggling and couldn't find any answers.

Of course, if feeling shaky and weak was the only change, I would have just given up low carb. But I didn't have the total energy crashes in the afternoon that I'd had before, and my ankles stopped being puffy at night. There were lots of things that improved, that made me want to keep on, but I didn't feel great and have all the energy that other people talked about.

Luckily, I experimented enough to raise my carbs a little bit and stop the worst of it, so I hope I didn't do myself too much damage on top of the normal wear and tear of life, stress and female hormones! And I hope this experiment will work, because it would really suit me in terms of the kinds of food you eat - and once you've healed a bit, you don't have to stick to five meals per day, which will make things simpler. (Dr S doesn't encourage coffee and alcohol, but I'm hoping to be able to work around that )

Guys, I'm giving you the "Heads up". I may be MIA for a little bit. There is alot going on and I'm a little "burned out".

I need to focus on some other things right now.

I'll check in when I can. Just didn't want to scare ya, if I'm not here for awhile.

Hello everybody .

I've just had a phone call from my parents asking if they can come and stay for a few days tomorrow. It's not an emergency or anything, just that a neighbour who depends on them a lot is away for a bit, so they decided to take off themselves. I haven't seen them since Christmas, so it will be good to spend some time with them.

Tooter, good to see you . L&F, hope you're doing OK. Pear, doing any new knitting?

Im not knitting at the moment, although I have a brown wool bolero on my needles and I'm teaching knitting on tuesday night.

I've been working on getting caught up with scrapbooking. No small feet. I've just started with the baby pictures of my oldest daughter. The recent years are done but the old photos are all disorganized and sticking together. I've decided to just organize them and get them on sheets and I'll embellish them later.

Ailuros, have fun with your parents!

Its snowing like crazy here, unusual late storm. I blame it on my oldest who decided to drive an hour out of town to visit a friend for the weekend. The snow is expected now to last the weekend and we've got heavy snow warnings Someone tell mother nature that its too late for this stuff and its not funny anymore. Hubby is working nights and gets to drive home tomorrow morning in this slop.

Woke up to a white wonderland. Hubby just came off his night shift a few hours ago and he's sleeping now. Tonight we have tickets to go watch a comedy.

Weight is staying the same - 199. My body is taking the time to smell the roses there I think I must have been settled at that weight some time in my past and its reminiscing.

After my coffee and shower, I'll probably go to the library and pick up the book I have on hold - Donna Dewberry's at home painting.

Have a fun saturday!
