I'm really irritated, because we missed the deadline for ordering it in time to be delivered today by ten minutes . I do love getting new toys, though .

Thanks, Pear.
I'm sure they're very fine ears, too . On my faded screen, all I can make out is a huge pair of wide eyes . What a shame they turn into teenagers . My nephew and niece are 20 and 21, and have just turned back into humans .

That sounds fun! I think i am going to need a new one pretty soon myself. It sounds like it is going to break at any moment. The piece in the back that I pug my charger into is loose. So, it's a job in itself just trying to charge this thing.

I don't know why, but I want something sweet I haven't had cravings like this in a while. Guess i'll figure something low carb out haha

Morning gals:

Ollamo, are you having problems with your avatar? I see your rocket turtle. Are you wanting to post pictures in your posts? Then you need to upload them on photobucket and use the code they give you to post here.

My weight is going back up again.

Glad you got it sorted out .

We're just back from eating out - the French bistro that we usually go to. I've also discovered a new "recipe" recently. I saw some jars of smoked salmon pate in the supermarket, and was reading the label to check if they looked OK. They only had smoked salmon (lox kind, not hot smoked), mascarpone and lemon juice. So I decided it wasn't worth paying for someone else to make, and bought a tub of mascarpone and some smoked salmon. I just popped them in the food processor until it was a sort of speckly mixture, added a bit of lemon juice, and had a really tasty spread to use for snacks for a few days.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Well, I am officially on day two of my induction. But, I did great yest. I feel really good about induction this time. No more slip ups.

I went to the gym yest and I lost 1 pound. I know it isn't a lot, but it's a start. Just wish it was melting away like it seems to happen to most people.

Well For brunch today i had bacon, tomato, and mayo wrapped in a lettuce leaf. Very tasty, but i still feel hungry. Guess I need to go drink some water

Well hope everyone is still chugging along!

Pear, I'm sure it would work with other things than mascarpone - maybe some combination of cream cheese, sour cream, yogurt - depending on your taste and what's available.

Mallory, well done for getting right back into Induction. People are all different, and not everybody has very fast weight loss. Keeping the weight off once you've lost it is much more important than losing it fast. Maybe your gym trips will be what it takes to rocket charge your tortoise .

I love oopsies, they are great. I need to do another batch soon.

This morning when I woke up, my gums were all swollen and bleeding. I have gotten out of the oil pulling habit, so I brought my sesame oil with me to work and I just got done swishing my mouth. It feels alot better already.

Tooter, I have a question for you about evco. I have the organic co and started using it on my face because I was starting to have a breakout (likely, from the heat and hiking). I read somewhere that evco isn't drying like the organic. Am I imagining things, or is that true?

I think my weight gain (198 now) is from the wheat in the flatout bread. I stopped eating it a week ago, I hope the weight will start to drop back off soon. I dont have any loss to post for the month, which is disappointing. Then again, I am still eating like royalty, so I can't really complain.

Hmm... You have Organic but not "virgin", is that right? I believe it's not as drying. Now, when I say "Drying" that is a strange answer.

The Virgin Coconut oil makes your skin smooth and feel great, but is best combined with another oil. When it "drys" it doesn't give you "Dry skin", but it also doesn't give you that Dewy look and feel. Did that make sense? This might be because of the other properties of the Virgin oil. The anti-yeast, anti-viral etc...

So, to answer your question. The Non-virgin wouldn't be drying (at least from what I have heard).

I use the virgin.

Hi guys! Your long lost sister is dropping in for a visit. I've just posted a link to your thread for Carly07. She is really looking to make some new friends (can't think of a better group of people for that!) and for some guidance in adjusting away from KK to Atkins. Tooter ... hope you don't mind!

I'm doing great. Busy with taking down the Kimpire, homeschooling, gardening adn just daily living. Hey, anyone want to come and wash my dishes?

Hope you ALL are doing well. I'm going to go back a couple of pages just to check on everyone.

Hugs and I miss talking to you all!
Sandy

Sandy, it's good to see you again . I hope Carly decides to drop in.

I'm pleased to say that I've always been able to fill my days without washing any more dishes than strictly necessary (actually, I use the dishwasher even for those ).

You might have to go back more than a couple of pages for news on Lost & Found - she still drops in when she can, but barely has time to sleep between working and studying.

I was posting at the same time. So I've covered L&F. Jean still pops in sometimes, when she's not distracted by having David around .

The gal who was dating a guy? Are you thinking of Hippiegal? She's dropped by with an update from time to time, but I think she's more active in another challenge thread .

WOE: ??????? low carb
Hi everyone!

I was reading Momtoeli's post in FWK thread and she posted this link for Carly. I was the last banned that we know of after Carly & Dee. It was a little odd the first couple of days, but as long as I can keep in touch with my friends I'm ok.

I'm not overly worried about going off KK because I've never really did it by the book. After the first couple of weeks of 800 cals and 20 carbs, I just didn't feel right, so I upped the cals, fat and carbs. Can't say how much because I am terrible at keeping fitday. I don't know how everyone finds the time. I guess I'm not good at rationing my time. But mornings I do things that I should do at night, like preparing lunches and cleaning up the kitchen, but at night I bushed. Just spent. I've always been a morning person. So laziness prevails at night. I read about people exercising and journalling and posting here and on blogs and I just can't figure out how they fit it all in.

I don't know if I'm ready to commit to Atkins. I still worry about the fat. My last couple attempts a few yrs ago, were met with dismal results. Not saying it was the diets fault. I never gave up caffeine and probably just ate too much. I was also considering Dr Bernstein as I'm diabetic, but I have to be honest, taking on his program is going to take time and not that I'm so willing to put my health aside, but we have a bridal shower for one DIL and a baby shower for the other DIL, a wedding in August and a baby due in Sept. Not by the same girl.. So, that may sound like an excuse, but its fact and
because of it, I know I don't have time to get into any major changes. So I guess I should keep doing what I'm doing, while I get the DANDR back out and do some reading when time permits. I'm open to discussions and pm's. I 've already rec'd pm's that were helpful and gave me things to think about for the future.

Thanks for listening. Hope it's ok to hang out here on occasion.

Hello, Donna, welcome . Some of the people here came via Kimkins, but not all - we're a pretty mixed bunch.

I lost my weight following Protein Power, which is a very simple plan. You have to get enough protein, limit your carbs (no more than about 7-10g per meal during the weight loss stage, so a limit of about 40g per day allowing for snacks). No foods are forbidden, except transfats and aspartame. Coffee is fine - in fact, the Drs Eades, who wrote Protein Power, are great coffee fans, and Dr Mike Eades has written several blog articles about its benefits . There are also plans like South Beach, and Schwarzbein, that allow slightly higher carb levels again. South Beach tends to use low fat foods (like skimmed milk or low fat cheese) that I'm not too keen on, whereas Schwarzbein sticks to the whole versions, but, while there isn't a limit on fat, it's likely there'll be less fat than on Atkins. There are lots of plans out there - it's important to find something that suits you - you'll need to do it for a long time, so you can't feel perpetually deprived. I think you're right to take the time you need to make the decision, rather than jump straight into something else.

It's good to see you here .
