DH's breakfast was wonderful! Eggs, tatos, bacon. Yum.

Hoping the weather opens up a bit as we're leaving in about an hour. Hope to at least see a few rockets go off even if the clouds won't show their full ascent.

My dad called from KY and told me his hummingbirds showed up, so I have to get my feeders cleaned up and ready to go since they usually get here a couple weeks after his.

Must go get ready, in clothes that don't mind getting wet!

Home from run and little breakfast after at Union Station. I have to hit the showers and get groceries. I need to plan dinner too. I also have to get youngest some clothes for warm weather. I can't believe how he filled out.

It is gorgeous here and rain is coming tomorrow. I hate to be inside. It the nicest day of the year!!!

Cindy, the families should wait at the welcome center. We talk transition each IEP meeting. My son has so many issues. I wonder if he will ever grow up and be on his own.

Shower time! I stink! Got warm due to the heat. Nice though. I don't mind it really.

That is sad that she hasn't seen her son - that's almost 2 years!

Ewwww, Debbie, I wondered what that smell was coming through my computer.I would gladly love to boast about that someday if I could get an exercise that I love. I'm still trying to find one that I like, thus far, the walking is as good as I've come to liking exercise but I seem to find an excuse for not doing it.

I'm going to do the elliptical today. Try to make it past 3 one minute sessions this time. Maybe someday I will be doing a whole session from start to finish LONGER than a minute at a time.

Kim is taking Hunter to get a professional bath, she doesn't want to take him to the new house since he hasn't had a bath for quite a while. He's stinky too, Debbie. Alyssa is going to stay with us while she takes him to get his bath. Maybe he won't smell like a dog when he comes home.

I'm soooo excited, the elderly couple that lived across from us is moving back into their house. They tried to sell it but the market is so bad and they were paying $900 for a 2 bedroom condo, which probably is low for some areas but outragious for ours. Mr. McDonald wasn't happy at all in the condo so he talked the Mrs. into moving back. He told John that he'll be 87 in September. They have custody of their 7 year old granddaughter (she was a twin and died when she was 7 months old of heart problems) and their DIL has been in and out of prison due to drugs and they don't even know where their son is. Sad situation and their such a wonderful couple. Anyway, John and I was hoping that when the for sale sign was taken down that they were coming back cuz she told me around Thanksgiving if it didn't sell by spring they were moving back. So, we get our old wonderful neighbors back and it's a good day on Sheffield Place today. The other house is still for sale beside the McDonald's but that is okay, that one was the nosey neighbor.

Toodles ladies, til later.

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you guys, the other night when I couldn't sleep, John started clapping in his sleep. Alyssa claps her hands to get him to clap cuz he claps very loud and she thinks is hillarious. He doesn't remember a thing about it, I asked him if he was dreaming about her and he can't recall anything. Right now he's showering cuz he just finished mowing the grass and she's sitting outside the bathroom door with her blankie and sippy cup. Just sitting there waiting for him.

I have been cooking the last hour or so. I made a brisket and something called Horeset which finely chopped apples and walnuts, red wine, cinnamon and sugar all mixed together. It is supposed to signify the mortar between the bricks in Ancient Egypt at a Passover Seder. I am not having a seder but I am making some of the traditional foods my sons like. Youngest loves the apples and he gets all that wine mixed in. It may equal 1/4 c for a big batch.

I haven't gone to Target or Kohls. It is turning a bit colder tomorrow and Monday and I will go Tuesday. I had to do the cooking and my husband isn't home to watch the brisket so I am stuck here. I need to add beer to the brisket at some point.

Rebecca, that Alyssa is such a sweetie. You are so darned lucky.

My cold stinks. My nose is sore. I was half asleep waiting to pay for my groceries. I am only working 8 hours tomorrow.

Had fun at our rocket adventure! It was interesting and lots of fun. Our friend's last rocket went so high no one saw it come down. Searching the sky for the parachutes but no one spotted it. We trudged across two cornfields looking for it.
And then it started to rain. No, pour! We were probably a 1/2 mile out into the second cornfield and the previously dry field immediately turned to mud! We gave up looking for the rocket and headed back as DD and I kept getting our shoes sucked off in the mud and getting completely drenched.
It was a riot!
We learned a lot and enjoyed the outing very much. Didn't rain until the end so we got to see little kids with little rockets and big boys with HUGE rockets (took four men to carry them out to the launch pad). They made your stomach rumble when they took off. I'd say there were probably about 100 rocket hobbyists out there and they're all a nice group of families.
It was lots of fun.

Finally warm and dry again, with a big pile of muddy clothes and shoes out in the garage! Tired from our exciting day and all that walking through cornfields. Going to snuggle in and catch up here in the morning.

Hugs and Kisses all around, K

Debbie, I would love to experience a Passover celebration. When my aunt's husband was alive we took a trip to Texas just after I graduated and it was Rosh Hoshana (sp?) time. My Mom, Dad and I were able to celebrate with them and it was beautiful. Then when I was a junior they came here, they were able to celebrate Christmas with us and we were able to celebrate Hanakah (sp) with them, it was wonderful for the two families to experience each others faiths.

I had to go to the grocery and John wanted me to stop at Taco Bell (taco hell). I'm eating a big salad with cheddar cheese and ham cut up on it, and the Paul Newman's lime vinegrette dressing.

We have John's step-dad's cousin's funeral tomorrow in Hillsboro. It's about a hour or a little more from here. I really don't want to go cause I'm having a hard time thinking about never seeing Troy in this life again. I really loved him, he was a wonderful guy and came to our Christmas celebrations for John's side of the family at our house. He was married for about 15 years and his wife never wanted children and they eventually broke up over it, and last year he held Alyssa most of the day on 4th of July. I don't know if she remembered that but at Christmas she kept navigating towards Troy and he eventually moved over to make room for her on the sofa and she crawled up and sat right by him for about a half hour. He was sharing his appetizers with her and she was upset when she had to sit in her high chair (we have one of those portable ones) to eat her dinner. He told Kim when he left that night that it was one of the most fun Christmas parties he'd ever attended. Sad that he won't be with us any more, at least in the human form anyway.

Awwww

Becky - you sound like you have very special people in your life!

Tonight was church, DS15 driving us home ( I lived! ) and frozen pizza for their dinner.
I just grazed through LC stuff.

Then I watched Dr Who from last night.
Good!

See you all tomorrow!

MK, I do have very special people in my life, I thank God that He has blessed me with that. Except for the matter that I would rather be with John's family and his step-family (his step-aunts and the wives that go to the brother's of the man that just passed make up 3/4 of my Red Hat club, that's how much I love his family). Mine is okay, but things are strained between my brother and I because of his wife (the one that you and Cindy were going to take out for me. LOL). But, I don't have to see my family very often. My Mom and I are close, we weren't when I was younger, my brother was her favorite and I hung around with my dad, I followed him around when he fed the rabbits and pigeons. But since Dad has passed, Mom and I have become close and my brother has actually pretty much ditched my Mom, so reality has struck her pretty hard. And I actually have Alyssa to thank for bringing my Mom and I together, Mom loves being around her, Alyssa has brought out the younger side of her, and Alyssa loves her "G.G." We were laughing last night after Alyssa went home cuz throughout the day Alyssa started calling her "G" instead of G.G. Mom got a kick out of her when she waved to her and said "bubye G". Mom said that's the next best thing to being on first name basis with someone. haha. But you're right, I do have wonderful people in my life. I don't have "a lot" of friends but the ones that I do are there for me when I need them (like the breast issue last fall) and are uplifting and supportive of me losing weight. Guess you can say that I have things that money can't buy (good thing, cause we always seem to be drained. LOL)

Morning!

Beautiful day here today....supposed to be close to 70! I think I will be inside for part of it working on DD18's FAFSA! Then there is laundry, picking up things I forgot at the grocery store , possibly raking the dog area in the back yard, plus should really start the process of putting away winter coats, hats, mitts, scarves, etc. I REALLY don't think I will be needing any of those again this year.

Becky - I understand about the whole family thing; I am already dreading my parents visit here at the end of May for DD18's graduation. It should be a fun, happy, time and they can just ruin things!

Kaye - You should have taken pics of all of you drenched and mud caked; I would have liked to have seen them! Bet the girls loved it though!

Ange - you BETTER slow down! You are just going to burn yourself out girlfriend! When will YOU be done with your job there? Hope you feel better.

MK - you keep mentioning Dr. Who - WHO IS Dr. Who and what channel???

Last night DD18, DH and I watched Dan in Real Life - we really liked it. DD20 went to see Saving Sarah Silverman with a friend.....she had already seen Dan and didn't want to watch it again - she said she didn't care for it.

Well, I need more coffee already.........how about you?

Cindy, all those movies with people's names in them.Pouring rain here. I used to call cleaning the yard of dog mess doing doggie duty(doodie).

Kaye, glad you had a fun day. I do hate bringing all the mud home and into the car though.

MK, I knew someone would say I needed a crock pot. Do things brown up in a crock pot?

I was so tired last night and the brisket needed to cool be cut and then heated up again so we didn't eat it. My middle son got home late too. We will eat it all tonight. I ate a PB and J. We don't keep passover( bread and other things) free here.

Becky, you are lucky to have so many special family members near by. We don't really live near family here. We were lucky we moved where my aunt and cousin is. Her other kids don't even live here anymore.

Ange, I hear you on the cold. I haven't slept well in three nights. I am a bit less stuffy and my throat no longer burns.

I will be home around 7:45. I took 4 hours off when I made this schedule out because I wasn't sure when the first night of Passover was and it was last night. Now we are celebrating tonight anyways.

Morning!
It's supposed to be beautiful here today too - but so far - 50 and cloudy!

Though I guess i could put the winter stuff away too!

Cindy - good luck with the FAFSA - DH does it here, so I don't have to look at it.
Having 2 in college really helped us this year - I guess we're just poor enough!

My Mom didn't come to DS15's Confirmation and it was so much more pleasant ~ I hate saying that, but there was no drama and no one to look after.

It depends - some foods will! A brisket will come out wonderful.
Then you slice it and put it back in and it becomes incredibly juicy!

I think you need a crock pot!
It's great for soup too!
