Morning girls,
anyone want another cup of coffee with me here on the left coast? We are supposed to go back to our normal spring weather today. (dreary cloudy in the morning, but not hot!)Cindy, I'm so sorry to hear that your weekend visit will have to be cancelled. Debbie, hope your DS is feeling better! I want to see Juno (haven't yet!) MK, are you getting new hair today, or just refreshing what you have? Kaye, hope your day gets better, I hate to start it like that! Becky, so what Cindy said, did they find a house? Ange, sounds like the perfect b-day present to yourself! ![]() to Barb and Connie who are I'm sure having too much fun! to Jenn who is probably really busy! I have a meeting with the MS principal to do a little brainstorming about creative ways to pay for some of their (anticipated) tech maintenance costs as the district continues to have budget cuts. Trying to do a little outside of the box (through the parent club) thinking cause they shouldn't have to worry about things like needing to replace projector bulbs or printer paper. ![]() |

Got a Rory report today and I guess he is loving his new home and she said she wouldn't sugar coat it at all.....said her parents (who both have minor health issues) are SO happy and it's so good to see them focusing on Rory rather than their health. She also told me what a wonderful thing my family did for her family!

Yes that is nice you can hear how Rory is doing. His doing well has to make it easier for your family.
I took a nap and now need to go fold tons of laundry. It all waits for me on Tuesday. I did go to the gym and I have the track tonight. Tomorrow I take my son(16 year old) to the eye doctor for the cyst like thing he has on his upper lid at the lash line. His appt got cancelled last time I took him because she had a death in the family. It actually got bigger over the last week. I do hope they take care of it tomorrow. I don't want to have go back yet again. I have to decide what to make them for dinner. I was thinking hot dogs and mac and cheese. I need something quick and easy they both will eat. Youngest would be happy with soup and sandwich. He seems to have made it through the day at school. Better get off my butt and do the laundry. 2 and half hours and I am out of here for the evening. I will be taping Idol as usual. I think they are singing Mariah Carey songs which really aren't something I ever listen to. Wonder how the guys will do with her songs. |

Just a quick fly by, I have a little cleaning up to do from a "little someone" but it looks like they found their house. They offered 78,800 (it was for 81,000, it's for sale by owner, that is what ours was when we got it in 1988) and they countered 79,900 I think with $1000 towards closing costs. I will send the ones of you that I have your email for and you can see it. I had to open each picture individually up in the address part thingie. So, Miss Alyss will have a back yard to play in and guess who is going to be building her (along with her daddy) a wooden swingset/playdeck like he did for Kim???? I think I'll do the cooking and stay out of their way when they build it. They're going to agree to their terms tonight I think. I will talk to you all later, just wanted to stop in before Biggest Loser comes on. It's the FINALE tonight.

Got Arby's sandwiches and made au jus dip at home and had French Dips for dinner. Not bad.
Actually had some windows open today, a little chilly but sunny. Let's see, MK has new hair! Cindy's dog 'Whatshisname' is doing fine in his new home. Deb got lots of chores done today. Kelly is having fun at middle school budget cuts meetings. Becky needs to explain about DD and DSIL, they're getting your DH's Step-father's house?? Did I read that right? Ange is running crazy at work and home. Barb and Connie are hopefully having a fun visit together. They need to check in, with pics! Other Shorties who have been MIA, we need to hear you're ok, we worry ya know! Planning on renting Juno later this week, but have AvPr (Alien VS Predator Requiem) for tonight. Saw it at the theater, good deaths. ![]() Must go rinse my hair color out before it turns my head black! cya, K |

No house pictures came here. I wanna see!
Off to opthamologist with my son. He has been seeing her since he was in kindergarten. He needs the thing cut out of his lid and it won't be fun for him since he is so anxiety prone and afraid of needles and anything medical. |

I only have Ange, MK, and Cindy's email addresses. If anyone else p.m.'s me I will send them pics of the house. It's so cute, about 895 sq. feet and a gorgeous starter home. John said last night the only thing he could find wrong with it is that it doesn't have a range fan or whatever their called, the hood thing, but he and Brad can easily put that in, plus Brad works for Lowe's and can get a discount, which is a plus. AND, he said he was pouting because HE didn't find it for them. LOL. He was looking at foreclosures and pre-foreclosures every night on the internet, and houses for sale on the internet, he found 2 for them but those were the 2 that they didn't get a contract in time. He likes it pretty well, Xenia is not the place you want to live FOREVER, but we started out there and it served us well. Alyssa will go to the same school that Kim started out, St. Brigid. The house is just a few streets over from where we started out, so maybe it will be good luck for them in their lives. Sometimes I do miss our old house, not the area but we all loved that home, it just wasn't big enough to live your whole life in. And it was 45 minutes from John's work, we wanted something closer to his work. All in all, we were very happy there and I pray that they will be just as happy as we all were.
Alyssa will love having a yard to play in and Hunter will be ecstatic, he's been couped up in an apartment for over 2 years with only going outside to potty. He'll probably run and run and run the first time he's left out. Kim use to bring him over to our house with her when she'd come over and leave him play in the yard, but then Alyssa came and she couldn't deal with him and a baby, so doggie got left at home. He will love it there. I cry when I think of Alyssa and Hunter having a blast, and to think that Hunter was almost given away last summer. Now he'll have the space to run and not have the threat of tenants complaining about him barking when they leave. And, the kids have made remarkable progress on their relationship and I thank God for that. Brad even is very friendly with us, just like a son-in-law should be, not standoffish like he use to be. I think Kim coming home for a night and him being COMPLETELY alone with only 3 cats to keep him company shook him pretty well. I will keep you all posted on the house progress. she's taking the contract back to the lady today, so hopefully all will be okay. She's trying to get ahold of the bank and see if they need a copy of the contract or any other paper work. keep your fingers crossed girls. Pees??? (That's what Alyssa says, now she makes me sign please when I say it. haha, she's using it back on me) |

Becky, MK emailed the pictures and they are really nice. It looks to be in perfect move in condition. I watch lots of House Hunters and it looks nicer then many of the small houses I see on that show.
I took DS16 to eye doctor. He is lucky he doesn't need glasses. He is far sighted in one eye and near sighted in the other but not terribly and she says he will pass his vision test for his learners permit. The sty like thing on his upper lid wasn't removed. She put him on a steroid antibiotic eye ointment for 2 weeks and wants him to religiously do the warm soaks for the next 6 weeks and then he needs to go back. If it is still there it would be removed in the OR. That is how it is done if he is still going to Children's. I am sure if he saw an adult eye doctor they wouldn't do it in the OR but since my son is a very anxious kid and I like this doctor we will do as she says. I hate that he will out grow her at some point. She has been seeing him for over 10 years. I didn't take him to school. He could have gotten a few hours in but I didn't feel like driving him there and back. Sitting in the car was killing my back today. The pain never really goes away. It comes back when I sit alot. That being said I better not stay at the computer too long. |

Well... they close on May 9!!! I am so happy for them and that they won't be throwing their money away on rent. I would have rather them have not bought in Xenia, it's not as quite as safe as it was when we were starting out, but then again, not many places are nowadays. But, it's a gorgeous home that they both can be proud of and I'm sooo happy for them. I know how Kim feels and a lot of proving to the bank was her work, since she had Alyssa and didn't have maternity leave for 6 weeks and had 3 weeks off without pay for her ear surgery, they were behind on a LOT of bills, but she drew up letters and got records from the doctors proving the dates matched. I am sooo proud of her, and Brad too.

Happy Anniversary Kaye. Where are you going tonight to celebrate? hey 21st "anniversary", you're legal now. LOL
Funny thing just happened to me at Kroger, I ran into a lady who's son went to Kindergarten with Kim in Xenia, where Kim and Brad are buying their house. They were "sweethearts" and I told her that Kim and Brad are closing may 9 on a house just a few streets over from where we lived. She said the kindergarten teacher is still there that Kim (and everyone) loved so much. Sure wish she would wait til after Alyssa leaves Kindergarten to retire. She said that Kyle has a little 4 year old boy, how funny. To run into Susan today, of all days. Kind of makes me feel that God is telling me that this is meant to be. I feel good about it. talk to you guys later, I called in today and took a vacation day to clean the house a little, something in the spring air got to me. And, Kim having a nice nearly new house made me want to clean mine up. John will have a coronary when he gets home!!! |

Becky, that is good news. Hearing that they got the mortgage so quick wouldn't happen here.
Happy anniversary Kaye. I think it is neat you remember when you met. I know we decided to get married Memorial Day Weekend 1981 but I can't remember if it was May 28 or 29th. We used to call it our special day way back when. It is beautiful out. My husband has a late meeting with dinner.Oldest should be home before he plays basketball. I should go take a walk or something. It is so nice out. I have a Perdue Oven Stuffer roaster cooking and I didn't put in till 4:30 so we won't eat for a long time. Middle son has been staying at work late to get OT since they lost the evening cook. The thing on youngests lid better go away with heat and eye oint because he will be hard to deal with if he needs surgery. He is so anxious and needles scare him to death. |

Kaye, that's so sweet! DH and I couldn't celebrate that event as we were friends for a while and gradually it became apparent we were actually dating. LOL! We actually used to "argue" over when our first official date occurred. I say it was earlier than he does. (We went horseback riding with friends, who are now married and he was the best man at our wedding and then out to dinner, DH paid, and he stayed at my apartment until something like 3 am talking, but no good night kiss, I say that qualified as a date, he says it was the next time we went out to dinner and a movie, just the 2 of us)
MK, sounds like a good book! Sometimes I worry that I won't remember me when the kids are grown and gone, because I'm so involved with helping them become the best person they can be. I hope I don't lose me along the way. Becky, that is so exciting about the house! Here, like where Debbie is, a mortgage takes longer, but considering the average house price in town is approaching 1 million... Debbie, I'm making home made chicken pot pie here tonight. The boys love it! DS10 is standing over my shoulder telling me its time for practice and he doesn't want to be late. Practice doesn't start for 30 minutes and its a 5 minute bike ride from our house. ![]() |
