Good Evening Beachers,
Today was a crazy day, I am finally getting to check in, so I still get my points!!
I was swamped at work. My eating has been great today, but maybe not enough cause I was so busy I couldnt take a break to eat my snack. I drank lots of fluids though.
I am hoping to see a new low tomorrow morning. I will post the tres leches recipe once I try it and make sure it tastes good, I dont want to share something that is crappy. The regular recipe in case anyone wants to make a regular one for like family or something is really easy and so good, I could eat the whole thing myself. You just take a regular box cake mix, yellow, and bake according to directions on the box, let cool and poke holes in the cake with like a wooden spoon end or something like that, then mix up 1 cup milk, 1 cup evaporated milk and 1 cup sweetned condensed milk, then pour over the top of the entire cake, cover and let stand in fridge overnight, then top with cool whip and serve. This is the best cake ever, I love the fact that it doesnt have frosting on it.
Anyway, I have the low carb version I will be making tomorrow, but wont be able to sample it till Sunday. I am also making more flax cocoa cookies, and chocolate chip cookies.
I am in for the weekend challenge, I dont have a whole lot planned, its supposed to be cold, maybe we will go swimming at the indoor pool.
Here is my menu from today as I am done eating for today;

b- 3 eggs & LC cinnamon roll
s- cheesecake fluff w/berries
l- chicken nuggets w/ranch
s- none
d- grilled chix breast w/green beans

Hi girls!
Fly-by tonight too - we have company staying over and I'm exhausted. DS's best friend, his girlfriend and their 6 month old daughter are staying over. They're moving to NC in 2 weeks so this is the last time we'll see them in a while.

Today's measure was as I expected - NOTHING has changed yet again!! She says my metabolism has leveled out so much that we have to take drastic measures to kick start it. So, I have been banned from any kind of cardio equipment. She gave me a hard core weight routine that I did this morning and already has me kind of sore. I know I'll be hurting tomorrow - hopefully. If I'm not sore in the morning she said I'm not working hard enough and will have to up the wieghts. Today was hard enough but I'm going to give this routine my all for at least 2 weeks as advised.

Dani - are you watching the Sox!! OMG - Big Pappi is back big time!! Grand slam and another RBI!! WOOHOO!!!!! We're in first place - that's what the Yankees get for digging up the shirt! BTW - the chicken bomb is served on a sub roll when you by it at a sub or pizza shop or when I give it to DH & the fam. I pass on the roll myself.

Cindy - Definately in for the weekend challenge. Gonna bake some more baked oatmeal - banana nut this time. I still have more of the cran-almond but I'm going to freeze it and freeze some of the banana batch too so I have some for weeks to come. I'm also going to make 3 bean salad. It's a new recipe and it's very yummy! I'll post it this weekend. Of course I have to do all of this while I have company but I know I'll get it done. Speaking of baking - I'm such an idiot! I always make a cinnamon swirl bread when DS's friends come up cause they really like it for breakfast (and it's so easy). Well, I'm so used to baking low-carb that I was standing there licking the mixing spoon until DD said "Hey Ma that's not SB friendly ya know" - DUH!!! I'm sure you'll come up with something fun to do with the DD's!

Red Sox just won! WOOHOO!!!!

Will do more indies tomorrow!
to everyone until then!

I just got done baking the chocolate chip cookies, can I just say YUMM!! If you guys want the recipe, its actually over in the lowcarb recipe help thread, its one of KevinPas recipes, he comes up with so many good ones that he has his own sticky. The yellow cake mix I am making tomorrow is his recipe too, so I have confidence it will be super yummy too.I think everything I am making this weekend is his recipes, he uses strange ingredients, thats why I had to order stuff from netrition because these are things you dont normally use like Resitant wheat starch and carbalose flour and erythol and all this other strange things, but hey if they make the food taste good and keep it low carb, then I am willing to try it!! I will keep you guys posted.

Even DH tried one of the cookies and said it wasnt bad and he normally hates my low carb stuff lol.

Hi all! Been a super busy week getting my DS16 ready for his trip to France next week. He's going for a week on a school trip (we never did anything like that when I was in school lol) and he had a gig last night also with his band. So we couldn't do any last minute stuff last night like picking up phone card etc. We'll go today.
Menu for yesterday:
B- 1 min. muffin, cream cheese
S- cottage cheese and strawberries
L- sandwich on 100% ww bread with hummus, carrots, onion and lettuce
S- nothing
D- broc. cheddar soup, coleslaw
Really gotta focus next week on getting veggies in everyday. I'll buy some good stuff for salad, new dressing(s) and some other veg. to cut up to take to work etc.

Marsha Congrats!! on your DS getting engaged. That is SO exciting!

Neesie Red sox fans eh? My DS16 is also getting to see a game sometime this spring with his gf and her family. He's a lucky kid!

Tina How'd the haircut come out?

Ericha massages? How nice. I have to get me one of those

Vero Curves is going great thanks. I walked yesterday though instead of going inside. It was 78 here!!

have a great Saturday all...

Morning!

Went to bed very early, when DH got home from his meeting/dinner.....we were exhausted after this week....but then DD18 called me a couple times to aprise me of her plans and where abouts.....which of course interupted my sleep! She was planning on spending the night at a friends, and when I texted her about 12:30 - she called right away and said she was coming home!

Well the was the first Friday night in a long time I totally stayed OP, no extra's! With DH gone, I had dinner, a SB treat and that was it!

And I hit 50 weeks on South Beach today!!!

Marsha - so when is the big day???? Glad you like FDIL!!! What does her dad say? That sounded like an odd thing to do anyway!

Kelly - Kevin's recipes always sound so good, but I never want to invest in all those different ingredients.

I am thinking of Ericha heading to Napa today for a massage!

Renee - what kind of music does DS's band play and what does HE play? DD18 is big into music and her boyfriend is a drummer in a band.....she just went to a Ben Folds and Jacks Mannequin concert the other night. And France? DD has had 5 years of French and so wants to go!!!

Neesie - I can tell I have hit a plateau too - I am wondering after reading your post if I should schedule an appt with a trainer and see what I need to do to kick start it again.....I need to make some bean bread this weekend.....none of the kinds I have made in the past sound good......I have made the lemon poppyseed, banana, choco pb, pumpkin......any suggestions?

Kristi - I am not sure I am loving my hair all that much.....it's cute, but not what I was hoping for - my next appt is 5/15, so will be looking for pics.....and for the weekend challenge!

Shout outs to Dani, Vero, Tina, Elizabeth, and anyone else peeking in!

Well, DH informed me he has to go into the office.....so, so far for me today it will be groceries, tanning, running to the mall for a quick errand, and not sure what else.

Yesterday:
2 cups of coffee
Bfast: concoction of rf cottage, rf, sf vanilla yogurt, 1T of sf, ff white chocolate pudding, peaches, all mixed together.....YUM!

Lunch: HUGE salad (probably too big ) with mixed greens and alot of veggies and op ingredients, cup of mushroom barley soup, piece of dark choclate

Snack: SB Mixed nut pack, iced, sf coffee

Dinner: Homemade cheese pizza with whole wheat crust.

Snack: SB Chocolate Truffle pudding with cool whip.

Today is Day 6 of Phase 1 for me. I am up a 1/2 pound this morning, due to my off-plan ice cream yesterday, but it's okay. I know that if I eat 100% on Phase 1 this weekend it will be gone in no time! Prior to this morning's regain, I lost 3 lbs. so far this week!

It's another perfect weather day today! I am going for a walk in a little bit.

Cindy- CONGRATS on 50 weeks on the BEACH!!!

Neesie- I agree...what a great game last night!! GO RED SOX!!! I'm going to try the chicken bomb w/out bread next week!

Ericha- Have a great SPA day!

Marsha- Hope today is more restful for you!!

Kristi- Yummy, roasted cauliflower! How did you make it?

to those I missed~

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Beachers,
I was up at 530 this morning with a screaming baby, I think he was hungry. I woke up to an all time new low, 191, I am so happy!! I am hoping to break into the 180's sometime in the next few days. I really want to hit my next goal in time for my vacation. I know I can do it.

Cindy- I didnt want to invest in all the ingredients either, but it really is worth it I think in order to stay on plan. I can still have sweet desserts and not have to worry about eating off plan. I love it.

Neesie- I am not aware of any earthquakes out my way, they could have been off the coast, I am several hrs away from the coast. We maybe get there like once per year if we are lucky lol.

Ericha- Have an awesome time at the spa, I am so jealous, I would love to get a massage about now.

Renee- I went to france 2 years ago, we were in Paris, it was so awesome. Except we were there when they had the riots going on, so at times it was a little scary.

Oh and Reg, you look amazing, I am so happy you found something that works for you.

We actually had snow last night, hopefully the fruit producers crop made it through the cold night, we have tons of cherries around here, I love cherries. Well I had better go find something for breakfast, I am hungry.

Kelly

Thanks Cindy!! I just got home from grocery shopping, I got a lot of stuff. They had roast BOGO, so i was pretty happy about that, I just put them in th crockpot, its an easy dinner. I thow in potatoes for the rest of the fam. I also got the stuff to make chicken fried steak for dinner tonight, I will make cauli mash for me and mashed tatoes for the everyone else.

I was so upset though, no one in town had any rhubarb, one store had it last week but I didnt buy then because I didn have the other stuff I needed to make the pie, now they dont have it, so I might just make strawberry pie and leave the rhubarb out, it will still be good I am sure.

For my snack this morning I stopped by Starbucks and got a SF mocha, I havent had one in a very long time.

Well I had better get to my baking, I am going to make that Tres Leches cake today, but wont be able to sample it till tomorrow, I might sneak some later tonight though

Hi girls! I surprised myself by getting up early this morning and getting in a good run! Then I had to get ready and go in to work for just a bit. Now I just had lunch and am back home. I have to go grocery shopping today...I have some new things on my list to try. I want to Silk soy milk. I have not ever tryed soy milk but from what I hear, you either hate it or love it. Hopefully I love it! I also wanted to try tofu. Never tryed that either so I am looking forward to it!

Cindy: Congats on 50 weeks!!!!! That is such a great accomplishment! Aren't you glad you stuck with it?? I know I am!

Dani: You are doing so good with phase 1! congrats on losing 3 pounds! I make my roasted cauliflower by pouring a bit of olive oil on top (or sometimes I spray with ICBNB spray) and then I use whatever seasonings I want and mix it all up so everything gets coated. Then I pop them in the oven on about 400 degrees for usually about 30-40 minutes. They are so yummy! It really helps me get in my veggies!

Kelly: YAY for being at an all time low! Keep up the good work. I would love to get some of those unusual ingredients to make those low carb goodies..they sound so good!

Well here is my menu:

B: english muffin pizzas
L: baked chicken, salad, ww crackers
S: apple w/npb
D: chicken pasta, salad
S: dark chocolate, yogurt

Hi girls!
Company is gone - that baby is so beautiful and so much fun to be around! DS's friends will be moving to NC in 2 weeks and we're missing them already.

The weather was sooo beautiful here all day today an the snow is melting like crazy -thank goodness!

More on my measure appointment from yesterday. You all probably know that my biggest issue is my muffin top and that's what I'm working so hard to get rid of. Anyway, the trainer told me that she's very sure I'm just in a hard stall but there may come a day - especially at my age - when nothing short of liposuction will change some areas. Your body simply just won't let you lose in some areas - it's genetic. I told her I'll be fine with that if that's what it comes too but until I get to that point I'm going to try whatever I can do lose in that area. Just thought you'd all like to know that at some point we all just have to accept where we end up and live with it and maintain it. It sounds discouaging but I think it's just the opposite to know that we can't control everything.

Cindy - let me know what you think of the SB book when you get the chance. It might be next on my list if you thinks it's worth it.

Kelly -I have to check out that cake mix recipe. I tried the cocoa flax cookies and did not care for them at all. They were more cakey than cookie and kind of oily. I checked the recipe 2x and i followed it correcttly so I don't know what went wrong. Glad to here things aren't shaking over there - crazy that Illinois is getting them now. How do you do your chicken fried steak? I'm making Swiss Steak tomorrow which I think starts off as chicken fried steak. Congrats on your new low!!

Kristi - what are you doing to the tofu? It's one of those foods that has very little taste of it's own but takes on the flavors of what you cook with it.

Renee - Red Sox and Sea Dog fans. We'll be hitting Hadlock Field in Portland quite a bit this summer!

Cindy - Happy Anniversary to you!! This workout is such a change for me - she says I'm so stuck I really need to shake it up big time with these hard-core weight exercises. My body has just gotten so used to my regular workouts that even alternating cardio and weight machines isn't enough anymore. I'm really hoping this change up in my workout routine works cause girl -I'm hurting! I've only did the routine once and have 2 weeks to go so it better be worth it! My favorite bean bread is Cran-orange nut. I don't know which bean bread recipe you use and I've tweeked Ericha's Starbucks gingerbread recipe to suit my tastes. To a basic plain bean bread recipe make the following changes:
Add 1/2 tsp cinnamon to blender mixture and pour into mixing bowl.
Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 1/2 cup finely chopped Craisins.
Add grated rind of 1 medium orange and juice of the same orange.
Bake as usual. It's P2 but very yummy - epecially grilled with Fleischmann's.

Dani - congrats on the 3 pounds - I'm soo jealous.

Reg - congrats on how well you're doing on your WOE. It's nice you're still stopping by here too!

Today's menu:
B: Coffee+ / banana nut baked oatmeal / fleischmann's
S: 2 cocoa flax cookies
L: grilled chcken salad / dressing
S: I don't think I had one
D: Cheeseburger on WW roll / peppers and onions / hot dog / 2% milk
S: NSA fudgesicle

Not nearly enough water but I got in a nice walk this morning!

Off to bed with the heating pad and some Motrin (and the Red Sox) - like I said- it better be worth it!

Have a great night girls!

Good Evening gals,
I am stuffed, we ended up going out to dinner tonight at an Italian restaurant, not by choice really but because we had a gift cert from there since xmas lol. I ended up staying OP, I had a peppered beef loin with extra veggies, but they turned out to asparagus, which I hate, so I just ate the meat, but it still filled me up. I am skipping dessert tonight.
DH and I are going to chill and watch Rendention, anyone seen it, with Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gylenhal, its the movie they met and hooked up on for real life. Hopefully its good.
I sampled the Tres Leches cake, it was nothing to write home about, the real one is way better, but its edible, but I dont think I would go through the trouble of making it again.

I will talk to you gals tomorrow, I am going to go get comfy.

Morning!

Beautiful day here today....supposed to be close to 70! I think I will be inside for part of it working on DD18's FAFSA! Then there is laundry, picking up things I forgot at the grocery store , possibly raking the dog area in the back yard, plus should really start the process of putting away winter coats, hats, mitts, scarves, etc. I REALLY don't think I will be needing any of those again this year.

Last night DD18, DH and I watched Dan in Real Life - we really liked it. DD20 went to see Saving Sarah Silverman with a friend.....she had already seen Dan and didn't want to watch it again - she said she didn't care for it.

Kelly - We rented Rendition and liked it - different, and Reese didn't have a huge part at all - what did you think? About the Tres Leches Cake - I find sometimes it's just not worth eating a lighter version - you just need to treat yourself and have the real thing sometimes.

Neesie - I will be anxious to hear how the new workout goes....With the Bean Bread/Cake, I follow the recipe, but cut back the splenda to 3/4 cup and was cutting the eggs back by one, but last time I made it it didn't turn out, so won't do that. Think I am going to make the choco pb bread today - need to get some banana extract too as I really like making banana bread and then frying it too! YUM!

I think I need to come up with some new breakfasts too - which means I won't do that THIS week as I already was at the grocery store.....I think the big key for me is to keep things interesting and varied.....I did plan ahead for the week and will be making Chicken Chili, Italian Sausage and Peppers, Turkey breast for tonight (for leftovers), some egg salad for lunches.....sometimes I have to hide the stuff too because DH and DD come home for lunch most days and then all MY lunch stuff disappears! Anyone else have to do that???

So yesterday was:

2 cups of coffee
Bfast: Flax muffin with sf syrup
Snack: Iced SF Coffee from McDs
Lunch: Big salad with mock seafood, lots of veggies
Snack: Turkey pepperoni pizza (pepperoni on a plate with melted mozz on top), 15 bite size multi grain crackers
Dinner: Grilled steak, salad with bleu cheese, side of ww pasta with garlic and EVOO
Snack: I REALLY wanted a chocolate chip cookie.....TOM is around the corner and well, you know how that is. It's all I kept thinking about. Low and behold, I looked in my pantry and I had a Betty Crocker Warm Delights, Chocolate Chip thingy......so I made and ate that . I knew I would probably just eat a million other things and still want that......I am trying to change my behaviors too and that seems to help - and it really does mean ONE AND DONE!

So, what's up for today ladies?

Morning Vets!

Had a nice day yesterday. I took my mom out to lunch and then we had our nails done. She's had a rough year w/the divorce but yesterday was a good day. I'll be visiting my Dad Tuesday and am going to do a similar day with him. (Well, minus the nails! ) It's kinda weird when your parents are divorcing at 27, but life happens I guess.

Weight was the same this morning. I am planning on grocery shopping and working out today.

Cindy- I want to see Dan in Real Life! Glad you liked it! I get to meet Steve Carell in June. One of my former student's cousin had a rare form of cancer and for the past 2 years Steve (who is from Acton, MA) throws a special premiere in Boston to raise money. He is a very funny and kind man. Last year the benefit was for Evan Almighty and this year it is for Get Smart. This year it is being held at the Wang Theatre, Ace of Cakes will be there and I get to meet Steve and have my picture taken with him! It's definitely worth contributing to the memorial fund.

Yesterday's Menu:
B: 2 scrambled eggs, 1 canadian bacon piece
S: 1 leftover turkey meatball
L: Steak and blue cheese salad, tomatoes, onion, romaine
S: 15 almonds
D: bunless burger, salad
S: 1 T. NPB

Good Morning Girls,
Guess what, I am down another pd today, woohoo, guess the weekend challenge is working for me this time, I made my tax day goal I had set today, just a few days late lol. Now onto my vacation goal, I need to lose 10 pds in the next month, I know its possible, but will take dedication on my part, big time.

I ended up taking the baby for a walk yesterday, but it was pretty windy, so we didnt stay gone too long because he still has a bit of a cough from being sick. I also got my hair cut. I need to get my straigtening touched up from the grow out, but they informed its 100 bucks, ouch!! I will get it done before vacation next month though. I want to show everyone how good I look now!!

The plan for today is homework, and maybe some swimming. We were gonna go yesterday but didnt end up doing it. My older son comes home today from his dads and he loves swimming, so I know he will want to go.

Cindy- I thought the movie was ok, but we kinda wanted to see Meryl Streep fry at the end lol!!

Here is my menu from yesterday:

b- 1 cinnamon roll, 3 eggs fried in evoo
s- starbucks sf mocha, 1 slice tres leches cake
l- bacon cheeseburger patty w/ steamed broccoli
s- string cheese, chocolate chip cookie
d- peppered beef tenderloin, few bites of asparagus

Dani - that is so cool to know about Steve Carell...glad you had a nice day with Mom......and you never know; maybe Dad would want his nails done!

Kelly - WOO HOO on the drop!!! Keep it up GF - you can do your 10lb goal!

I got a good workout in, but was planning on staying longer this morning than normal.....after TWO guys came near me with overpowering aftershave, I could only do 5 minutes past my normal time....... DH said they were probably there to pick up chicks!

Just made a Mexican omelette that was so good; two eggs, ff refried beans, taco meat, rf cheese, rf sour cream and some salsa ranch dressing..... Already got a 24 oz bottle of H2O in too!

I think I am off to make the bean bread....have to stick around until after noon when DD18's DBF's parents pick her up - we have met Dad, but not Mom and they want to meet us too!
