Hi Beachers!

Went to the gym again yesterday, but Brad and I also had lunch at Wendy's. LOL. I never eat fast food so I took advantage of it. I did order my Frosty float with Coke Zero. LOL.

Today has been OP.

Cindy, my SF Latte from McDonald's was a regular (hot) latte. They have the iced ones as well.

Vero, congrats on getting to move back home. I know you must be so excited.

Nessie, July 4th works for me! That would give me time to plan a Christmas wedding .

Dani, you are doing great!!

For those of you who know Reg, I checked her stats today. She's lost 40 pounds since January doing Weight Watchers! WTG REG!!!

Hi to everyone else. Have a great evening!

The egg cream is almost exclusively a fountain drink; although there have been several attempts to bottle it, none have been wholly successful, as its fresh taste and characteristic head requires mixing of the ingredients just before drinking. The drink could be described as a "poor man's ice cream soda," as it has a similar overall flavor, but traditionally sold for only a slight premium over an ordinary fountain soda. Egg creams are sometimes made with other flavors, especially vanilla or strawberry.
For the sake of everyone reading my posts and checking out my menu, I"m gonna keep calling them egg creams

Cindy - How was yours? I'm thinking of adding ice and making it like the mocha frapp at starbucks!

beach babes!

My ankle is doing much better today, thank you everyone for your concern. I don't know if I could wear heels but it's not painful in flats.

Neesie - Chicken Bomb=Chicken Philly Cheesesteak! YUMMY! Regarding the treatment - I don't have insurance. I've applied twice now and been denied. This is a holistic healer/accupuncturist so it wouldn't be covered anyway. It will be expensive but DF and I have discussed and we think it's worth giving it a try. I don't know if you remember but my DF had some pretty bad gastro-intestinal things going on and no "ordinary" doctor could help him. He had been on morphine for 2 years for the pain and within 2 months of treatments with this "doctor" he was off the morphine and completely pain-free! That made me a believer.

Tina - The lack of tea could be the culprit! I remember reading somewhere that tea is an appetite suppresant. Get thee to a store for more tea!

Vero - My fall was just so surreal! It sorta happened in slow motion...it was just instinctual to get up as quickly as possible. Luckily my arm hit the stop button during my fall so the belt had stopped moving and I was able to get up without hurting myself. Only thing bruised was my ego.

Marsha - I am definitely a klutz! And I have weak ankles, which roll over at the drop of a hat so this is not my first and certainly not my last fall. A couple months ago I was walking out of Starbucks and slipped on wet tile and gracefully slid onto my butt. I didn't even spill my coffee!

Today's Eats
B: venti no foam skinny cinnamon dolce latte, ww spinach, egg, feta, sundried tomato wrap
S: 2 choc pb bean muffins and diet hansens root beer
L: large salad w/ lettuce, tomato, chicken and dressing
S: think thin bar
D: lemon chili chicken, green beans, hummus
S: nsa fudgesicle?

water: 80-100 oz. (only 32 oz. so far... )
exercise: 55 min. cardio conditioning class - new temp instructor tonight..we'll see how it goes.

ETA: I found a great recipe for SB friendly tartar sauce. Check it out HERE.
Ok, I gotta run but I'll try to check in later. I want to make some veggie soup tonight and I need to put away the folded laundry. It just seems I never have time!

Later, chicas!

Good Afternoon Beachers,
I have been super busy today at work. I found out the head of my dept is leaving soon, her DH was offered a position in Washington DC, currently he works for Google, I cant imagine moving cross country like that. So my dept is about to get super busy, she has the anwers for everything, me and the other guy are both newer, so I guess we will be learning fast! My boss was crying when the gal told her the news.
Anyway, I had mexican last night, off plan and a strawberry daiquri, it was yummy. I didnt step on the scales today, dont want to know the damage. I am doing like phase 1.5 today, so I will check my weight tomorrow morning.
Thanks for all the concern about the baby, he is doing a little better.
Well I had better get back to work, I am just on lunch break, I will check back later this evening, I have homework to do tonight.

Hey Girls!

Had another busy day, but back in a groove with eating again....I am hoping (I keep saying this) to add some weight training soon - DD and I both want to and from what I understand, this can push me over this plateau I feel I am at!

Tina and Kristi - I did try the egg cream with coffee, and Tina I threw it in the blender with ice and it was not as thick as a frapp but more like a blended coffee it was good!!!

Neesie - you know we were just joshin ya! But boy now I want a chicken bomb!!!

Ericha - I made a sb friendly tartar sauce and it's a little easier than the other recipe.......

Throw a big glob of rf mayo into a bowl, add as much dill relish as necessary or to your taste, garlic salt, garlic powder, onion powder....mix well, throw in fridge. Everyone loves it!!!

Well, I am enjoying a quite couple of hours without anyone home - or should I say hour as DH will be home soon. I didn't sleep well AT ALL last night, so got a sf iced coffee from McDs on the way home and came home, changed and plunked myself in front of the TV and watched my taped Law and Order from last night! As much as I miss Rory, the dog; it is so much more peaceful at our house and I, once again, look forward to coming home at the end of the day!

Off to figure out dinner!!!

Evening, Beacher Vets!!!

Another wonderful day in Paradise. It's G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S out and I'm stuck in here. Not fair!!

Since Vero brought it up, here's the update on DS24. As of this morning, he was officially hired by Continental and starts on Monday. He found a sleeping room for $265/month through a website called crashpads.com so at least he'll have someplace to lay his head. The website is kind of strictly for the airline industry. His plan is to leave on Saturday and drive to DD38's house near Scranton. Spend the night there and have them store his tool boxes for him since he won't need them during his 1 month training period. Leave there on Sunday and it's only about 2 to 3 hours to Newark. That's the plan right now and always subject to change. On the proposal front - since DGF's dad is being weird, he doesn't know what to do. He told me today that she wants the ring before he leaves for NJ but I don't think it's registered in his little pea brain yet. As of now, he has no plans on proposing!! The twit. Here again, it's all subject to change.

I'm really looking forward to getting my house back. I forgot what a slob DS24 is. I counted 6 pairs of shoes lying in a doorway this morning. No more PS3 Guitar whatever at all hours, no more empty pizza boxes on the coffee table, you know that story. Of course, I'll miss him - he's my baby boy.

Tina - This Outage is supposed to last 4 weeks but I'm betting on at least 5. And yep, this afternoon shift the whole time. What can you do? Ya gotta eat and pay the bills, right? Sounds like a good time in '09 at Disney. Save those pennies cause it's pricey down there. BTW - I'm NOT trying that egg cream. Kinda grosses me out!!

Neesie - DH said something about going to Sam's Club on Sunday (my off day). I'm going to look for "institutional" size cans of chick peas. I think I could get addicted!!

Here's the chili recipe kinda. I cook by feel so nothing is exact.

1 lb. lean gr. beef
1 or 2 green peppers
1 or 2 onions
2 or 4 stalks of celery
2 qts. whole tomatos (I canned these so you'll have to guess)
2 big cans of tomato sauce
1 big bay leaf
a bunch of powdered chili pepper
some cayenne pepper

Brown the ground beef with the onions, gr. pepper & celery. When it's done, put in all everything else. Let it simmer for a few hours (I make mine in the morning and simmer it until dinner) Add as many and whatever kind of beans you like. I use lt. red kidney beans, dk. red kidney beans, black beans, navy beans. Be creative and use what you've got.

Ericha - You got it exactly with the Chicken Philly. Now I'm definitely going to have to try it - maybe dinner on Sunday. Sans bun, of course. Welcome to the klutz klub. It's an art form, you know?

Kristi - How did the cauli pizza turn out? I've got all the stuff to make it but I've been afraid I'd ruin it. Any reviews/tips?

Cindy - get some sleep tonight girl. Maybe you need a kick-back night tonight to catch up. BTW, what the heck are the rules of the point system? Maybe you just better show us that clipboard.

Elizabeth - If you happen to talk to Reg tell her to peek in if she can. Wow, she's doing wonderfully. Is the 4th of July on your office pool? I'm thinking sooner.

Kelly - with the boss situation it sounds like you're going to be busier than ever. Take care of you. to you and the baby. Hope he's better soon and keep us posted on the heart murmur.

BBL with menu. Hafta work.

Hi girls!
Just another quickie check in tonight....

Is anyone joining me in the Memorial Day Challenge I mentioned - last week I think? I'm going to try to lose 5 pounds by then - 6 weeks - but I'll be happy with 3!!

Who do you guys think will go home on AI tonight? I'm thinking Carly or Saisha.

I just made a batch of baked oatmeal. Not sure who's recipe it was but they smell so yummy! I added sliced almonds and cranberries.

Vero - Congrats on the orders to go back to Texas - I bet you're ecstatic!!

Cindy - So glad Rory is doing so well. Did you find the time that Dr. A will be on TV? I've been tossing and turning the past few nights myself - what's up with that?

Kelly - glad to know your little one doesn't have bronchitis and I hope he feels better soon!

Marsha - I think your DS has his work cut out for him with DGF's dad.

Addition to today's menu:
1 tube of salted cashews - I had the munchies and that was the best option in the department "snack shack".

Sox are playing the Yankees tonight so I'm off to watch that.
Have a great night ladies!
Neesie

Cindy: Hmm, I will have to try that egg cream sometime...It sounds interesting and I love switching up my "eats"! Good for you, for deciding to start weight training, I love it! I have really upped my weight training and I am looking better than ever actually!! There are SO many benefits of strength/weight training.

Marsha: I really like the cauli pizza! I haven't gotten mine to be able to pick up and hold in my hands...I eat it with a fork..but I'm not picky, as long as it tastes good. and it does!! I blend mine with a hand mixer just a bit because its a lot easier than using a shredder. I don't taste any cauliflower at all, which is awesome because Im getting in extra veggies without even noticing it! A word of advice...right when you take it out of the oven, cut it into servings and put the rest away (fridge or freezer) because it is tempting to eat the whole thing!

Good OP day, but I am beat. Had a looooooooooooooong day at work and then off to my graduate class for 3 hours. Came home around 8, made a quick dinner and then on the computer to check-in here. Neesie- YUM! I've had one before, but it was called a chicken cheesesteak I think. I may have to make one of those when I'm out of Phase 1!

Elizabeth- Thanks for letting us know about Reg. I'm going to pop over to the WW thread and congratulate her!

to the rest of you lovely ladies!

Today:
B: omlette w/onion, mushrooms, and peppers
S: cottage cheese
L: salad w/grilled chicken
S: 15 almonds, decaf coffee
D: veggie patty, salad
S: NSA fudgesicle

I won't give it away, but

Kristi - WHAT do you do for strength training? DD and I want to do it at home.....that way I can do it on the off days I go to the Y - I used to do it and used my 5 and 10 lb dumbells.

Off to bed, I am beat!

Cindy: I was happy about Idol tonight too! Not too surprised though. As for strength training, I do it at home. I actually have/use 5 and 10 lb. dumbells for many exercises! I mostly stick with the 10 pounders now though. I a lot of basic exercises like squats, lunges, pushups..I also do bicep curls, shoulder press, tricep extensions. I usually do 3 sets of each. Make sure that between each set you give your mucles a rest for about 1 minute. If you google strength training moves, you will find a lot of exercies and you can pick which ones you would like to do. If you really want a challenge for your legs and but, try jumping lunges and squats! Those shaped me up so fast! I also get great ideas from Seventeen magazine! I dont know how much you know about strenth training but also make sure that you give your mucles time to rest and rebuild..meaning do weight training on non-consecutive days. Let me know if you need any more help!

Hi VETS!

Checking in with my menu for today. I have been so busy with school work and applying to the university I want to attend in Texas, plus filling out extra paperwork, and have not had a chance to go to the gym. I did, however, walk my dogs today because the temp here reached 73!! WOOOHOO! It was windy, but oh so nice! I still have a ton of school work to finish even though I worked my non-existant tail off today. I can't wait for this semester to be over.

No time for indies, but I'll try to do them tomorrow.

Today's menu:
B: none
L: 1/4 grilled chicken breast; leftover "charro" beans & some grd beef w/ onions, tomatoes & jalapenos
D: grilled chicken breast w/ SB ranch; cup of cheddar broccoli soup

Ok, off to shower and then continue with my schoolwork.
to everyone and goodnight!

Morning Beach Babes!

The munchies got the better of me yesterday and I'm not gonna post what I ate, just suffice it to say it was not good. I did get more tea so hopefully that was the problem. I got to thinking about it and now I'm hoping it's not the new thyroid meds. I guess I'll find out today.

I think I need to do some soul searching and see why I keep doing this to myself. I don't like being this weight, but I seem to keep sabotaging myself. So what is my problem? (besides eating ) Why do I keep doing it? Just some things I really need to think about!

I'm having an egg cream for breakfast today. I mixed some ice in this time and chilled the coffee. mmmmmm Then I put the mixture in th freeze while I got ready for work, just like a mocha frapp from starbucks!

Vero - Did you find a school you want to transfer to?

Marsha - I know Disney is so pricey! We are gonna save our stimulus rebate for the flight for the 5 of us and it still probably won't be enough! We've been saving our change for about 2 years also for spending money. I'm probably as excited as the kids! The egg cream is really really goooooooooooood!

Cindy - and you didn't even know it had eggs in it, did you?

Renee - step into the dark side, enjoy an egg cream!

Ericha - I picked my tea up after work. I'll see what happens today.

and to th rest of my beach peeps!

Hi girls!
Today is my 2 year anniversary at this company - I think that deserves a day off don't you? (I wish!)

Tina - I'd go ahead and call it an egg cream too since it sounds more like an actual egg cream than a traditional egg cream does. Just thought you'd like the information.

Ericha - You took a fall on the treadmill? I've been reading posts so quickly lately I didn't catch it - I hope you're okay girlfriend! I never use that stop clip string thing - maybe I should start. Ya never know! I'm kind of a clutz too - I used to fall out of my platform shoes all the time.

Liz - thanks for the info on Reg - WOOHOO for Reg!

Renee - what is 3 minute chocolate cake?

Marsha - thanks for the chili recipe and congrats to DS24!

Dani - congrats on the loss!! The chicken bomb is P1 I think - I don't see anything that can be P2 about it - do you? I used to eat them all the time when I was on Atkins and we lived in NH. I would order a large - it was huge - and have them put it in a salad container instead of on a roll. It gave me 2 or 3 meals and was soooo good!

Cindy - AI loser wasn't slated to be in the bottom 3 so it is kind of a surprise - now if they could only get rid of D.A. we'd be good!

Kristy - thanks for the weight info - I'm thinking of starting to do more hand weights myself to see if it gets something going. I have my measure tomorrow morning so I'll know where I stand and I'lll discuss it with the trainer.

Today's menu:
B: tea / baked cran/almond oatmeal / fleischmans
S: LSV8
L: Grilled hot dog / mustard
S: SF pudding
D: either salmon or ww pizza
S: NSA fudgesicle

Class is about to start so I have to run.
See you all later!

Good Morning Ladies,
I will be in training all day today, not fun lol, its rather boring. But oh well. I am back to siggy weight after my mexican food, so today I am doing phase 1.5 and maybe will see a new low tomorrow. That would be nice. I havent been to the gym in umm 3 weeks, I am ashamed to admit and wonder why the heck I am paying for it and not going, I really need to get my butt in gear.
Well I had better get the baby off to daycare and get moving, I will try to check in on my lunch break today.

Neesie - Where are your veggies at today, lady???? I did appreciate the info about the egg cream. I can't imagine having a chocolate soda though. of course, I'm not really big on soda at all. Of course, you deserve a day off, you tell your employer that your SB peeps said so!

Kelly - Have a good training day!
