Well, YOU know bambi, you mentioned it yourself how slow it is. It's so full it's barely moving.

I need something more powerful to support photoshop and my cybertablet. We had to take that stuff off so I could function. Everytime I save a photo (the kids send Mexico pics today) it takes me above the threshold.
Mne is still very fast. I have pounded it and pounded it especially during school! I bought it right before school started so it's about 2 1/2 years old at least. Still fast as the day I got it.

It's an ACER and I got it on walmart online for about $600!

Peskaloid has returned! I hope you get a new computer soon. I'm sure you could not bear it if you could not access us.

I have been doing it for um since the date on my profile (Jan 2004). I was about 180 actually at my highest weight but the first time I weighed after I started was 173. I lost down to 150 fairly quickly and then 15 more pounds much more slowly. I stayed at 135 about 3 days and then between 140-145 for quite a while. Maintaining was harder than I thought though. Peskoroid says its because I didn't go up the ladder whatever . Anyway my weight crept up because I did not stay on plan for quite a while during school (Aug-05 through Aug. 07) and when I graduated and realized I wasn't happy with that weight (about 155-160) I struggled trying to get totally back on plan. I had left off exercise due to school, recurring knee and shoulder pain and plain laziness and couldn't seem to get that mojo back either. Soooooooooo fast forward until just about 2 weeks ago actually. I finally got fed up and decided I had a choice in what I wanted to do. I could either stay on the road I was on and gain more weight and get steadily less active as I got older or I could get back on plan, exercise and get healthy. Hence, my choices I post now every day. I am determined to do it this time. I am having a hard time getting the scale to cooperate this time for some reason but I refuse to be discouraged. I am already feeling 100% better and am trying to concentrate on that!

There! How's that? It was pretty eye-opening for me just writing that all out. Thanks for prompting it!

But of course you are! Where'd she go again? To buy a new computer?

I am doing the last 2 loads of laundry and in a few minutes I am going to pull those notes out and read some of that book that I chose to read today.

Wow! It sounds like Atkins does work for you, as long as you stay on plan. You can do it this time, Hiawatha! I have faith in you! So did you start back over with induction?

I got mine not long before you....it's an Acer too and I think was about $900 then. I had too much music and photos stored on it. Making it slow.

Well pretty much but I have been on so long I KNOW what works for me so no not what you would call "true" induction. I eat peanuts which aren't on induction but they never hurt me before. I probably have had a few other things but can't remember. Yes Atkins does work for me for 2 reason mainly. It's all foods I like (I HATE non-fat and low-fat foods ick) and also I have a lot of food allergies like wheats and a lot of fruits so I can't eat them anyway or am not supposed to. I feel much better when I don't too!

Thanks for having faith!!! What's your story on your Atkins journey if you don't mind sharing?

Would you girls be terribly offended if I called you "hags" from time to time? I have a group of friends on a Disney board and we call each other hags as a term of endearment. I keep typing the word hag on here and then have to delete or edit. I am so worried about offending you fabulous ladies!

And as for MK joining Skinny Minnie, I tricked her into joining instead of inviting the same way I did you.

I knew she couldn't resist the madness.

DH got an ACER with a lot more on it and his is way slower than mine and it's only about 6 months old, always has been slower He doesn't download much either but I think since he goes to so many sites, he may get a lot of junk that way. I only mostly come here and on the long hair site except when I was in school and still it wasn't that much surfing.

we're difficult to offend (except bambi.....but she just "pretends" )

Teehee!!

When I thought doody was going to come visit the same weekend that bambi came to visit, we were going to put the men in one house and us ladies stay in the guest house, so we renamed it the "hen den"

I think mom would like that.

Well, I bought the book about 6 years ago (after I had my last DD) and DH and I tried Atkins for 3 weeks and I lost 20 pounds. But it was really difficult for me to stay on it (I was on induction the whole time) and I gained the weight back. In the following years I tried other things like slimFast and portion control, and counting calories and none of them worked for me. So this past Christmas I decided to get serious about it and I did Atkins for about 6 weeks and lost 20 pounds. Then I went to Disney world for a meet with my friends from a Disney board and I did a planned cheat, cause the food there is sooo goood! But I was never able to get back on the Atkins wagon. Till now! I've only been back on Atkins for a week.

But now I have a fabulous group to inspire me and keep me accountable!
