Morning Girls...

4 am wake up... Just after five now and enjoying a slow wake up, with only the sound of the mantle clock chiming...

Russ brought me home flowers last night, and said Happy Birthday again... That was sweet of him - I've already a full vase on the table...lol

What's everyone planned for the weekend?

Flood cleanup tomorrow - free dump day in town for debris then - so tomorrow's a full day - that and homework... Sunday Russ is throwing the bbq for my birthday... And the crazy news is that there is possible snow in our forecast for this Saturday. What a crazy year...

IL isn't an earthquake zone - that's why it was so weird!

There is a big fault running through here though . . .

No one was hurt - it was pretty small - big enough to get on Fox news though!

This afternoon - big thunderstorms!
If I see a swarm of locusts . . .

Nope - no damage here - further south - closer to the center they had some.

And just because I know you're all just fascinated:

The quake shook skyscrapers in Chicago's Loop, 230 miles north of the epicenter, and in downtown Indianapolis, about 160 miles northeast of the epicenter.

U.S. Geological Survey scientists in Denver were examining data about the quake, said geophysicist Carrieann Bedwell.

"This was widely felt, all the way to Atlanta, a little bit in Michigan," she said.

Residents in Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Louisville and St. Louis also reported feeling the earth shake. In Louisville, the quake caused bricks to fall off part of a building near downtown, and television video showed bricks strewn in the street, but the mayor's office said there were no reports of injuries.

The Midwest, most notably southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois, is home to the New Madrid fault, a network of deep cracks in the earth's surface.

The fault, at the center of the country's most active seismic zone east of the Rockies, produces numerous small quakes a year, most too weak to be noticed by the public

Stews! DD19 totaled her car and now we're having to scrape up some money to buy her another one. The "issues" of entitlement abound! I share in the spirit of having teen daughters on the cusp of being launched into space, er...I mean life.
