Kick the can! Getting diet sodas out of your life!

I'll be honest. I drink at least 10 cans of soda a day, plus 2-3 20 ounce bottles. It's amazing I've lost anything!

I thought it might be fun to start a challenge for those of us who want to kick the cans (and bottles) out of our life. I want to cut down to 20 ounce bottle of caffeinated soda in the morning, and one can of diet soda in the evening. By next Monday!

Help me out! Join in! I have seen so many threads about diet sodas stalling people that I know I'm not alone.

I'm in vending, and all my sodas are "free". Sometimes, like this upcoming Friday, I have to get up at 3 AM. It's going to be very hard to say NO to more than one bottle of soda.

Worst case, we can try it for a month, see how we feel. Are we losing faster? Feeling better? Let's give it a try.

No takers yet.

Well, last night, after starting the thread, I only drank 1 can diet decaf and a whooooole lot of water.

This morning, I woke up with a headache (I kept waking up during the night and every time I did, it was worse). I took some asprin (better for me with my meds) this morning and when I woke up at 7 it was gone.

So far, I have had ONE CAN of diet soda. I plan to drink one (20 ounce) bottle, and stop there.

Oh, and I was a little thinner this morning, too. I got rid of 1.5 pounds of bloat that's been bugging me since I started my exercise program.

I had a bad day for diet sodas.

1 can
1 bottle
32 ouncer at Sam's Club
2 x sparkling water (with flavoring and aspartame) 20 ouncers.
1 can diet root beer.

I haven't had any in 3-4 days now ... VERY hard (I was drinking atleast 6 cans or a 2L per day) I'm really struggling to not have it ... headaches and such... bah

You all can give them up, as much as you really want to. I gave up cigarettes 15 years ago cold turkey. Good luck! I drink 2 cans of diet soda a day and then drink lots of bottled water and hot tea also.
