The basic Eggcream mixture.. now you can mix this into coffee, tea, jello water, flavored beverages like crystal lite, koolaid, or make a mock float in diet soda.

1-3 eggs depending on hunger (in the am I use 2 or 3 keeps me much fuller)
2 tablespoons of heavy cream (or say quarter cup of unsweetned vanilla or chocolate almond breeze)
sweetner to taste (I usually use 2 packets of splenda/equil) or (5-10 drops of liquid stevia)

now for your extras that some people add, its totally by choice, by all means tweek it to meet your own needs.

ADD INS:
-flax meal
-coconut oil
- protein powder
-flavored sugarfree syrups
-fresh fruit or avacados
-ice
-coconut cream concentrate
-coconut milk
-coco powder
-cinamon, nutmeg, etc
-any alt flavoring like extract etc..

the combinations are endless really
I can't imagine me getting sick of it either..

My egg cream this morning was YUMMY!!

12 oz chocolate caramel chai tea(celestial seasons-2 bags)
1 tbsp coconut oil melted in the tea
2 squirts of sf vanilla davincis
4 tbsp heavy cream
2 eggs
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 small banana-I'm not the biggest chocolate fan so I had to cut the taste somehow!!!

This made 2 large coffee cups full. I drank one and will heat the other later when I feel hungry.

Hi LC friends,

I am new to the group. I read all the posts about egg creams and I got sooooo excited to find out that there was more to eggs than just scramble or boiled. I ran out and got all my ingredients to make my egg cream. I have not made one yet but I am looking forward to it. I have been doing LC off and on for a while. I always got great results but unfortunately i always found a way to sabotage my efforts. Soooooo i am hoping that this time i can get it right. I am happy i found this site.........

Here's the version I started drinking last summer. I posted it in response to someone who wanted to bring down the carb count of their coffee, but didn't like it without cream. It's the only way I can stand coffee without cream in it. Anyway, this version is cream-less:

Egg Cream Cappuccino

About 5 oz leftover hot coffee
About a 1/2 cup boiling water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pkt Splenda (or equivalent sweetener)
1 or 2 eggs (actually, I like mine w/ 1 egg plus 1 egg white)

1 pkt Splenda

Put coffee in a large mug. Add next 4 ingredients to a blender/Magic Bullet and blend until frothy. (30 sec?) Pour into mug with the coffee. Sprinkle top with last Splenda pkt and slowly stir in.

I drank them hot, and never used cream in them. They really did fill me up. Honest! Now, though, with all of these other ideas floating around, I haven't made them this way in a long time. There are so many yummy things you can do with them.. OurLuvs has made a nice list of many ideas for your egg cream. . .I'd like to add one more add-in to her list, though:

cream cheese

I added it to my orange jello flavored egg cream this morning. Whoa, baby. . .good stuff!!

Just be sure to stay on top of your carb/calorie/fat count (depending on what you, personally, track for yourself). All of these mix-ins are delicious, but it could be very easy to go overboard.

Good morning,

I had my first coffee egg cream this morning. I was kinda nervous about drinking it. I just kept thinking about the raw eggs. I was suprised. It was very good. I made it with 1 cup of coffee, 2tbsp of sugar free vanilla davinci syrup, 3 eggs, a packet of splenda and a few cubes of ice. I think i will go out and buy some protein powder to add because i am still hungry.

Moretta, about how much cream cheese you use in your egg cream? I love cream cheese.

To every one what is your typical menu when drinking egg creams?

WELCOME!!!! This site has been invaluable to me.

Side Note on hunger with egg creams: If I don't add the CO I get hungrier sooner. Try adding a TBS of CO to your egg cream it will keep you fuller longer. Next on my list, adding a scoop of protein powder - just need to pick it up at TJs

HB's Favorite Most Filling Egg Cream

I agree! The basic egg cream (even w/ 3 eggs) did NOT keep me full either.

Yesterday I added 1 tablespoon of organic virgin coconut oil + a scoop of Jay Robb's chocolate protein powder (no sugar/1 carb) and I was FULL from 11am all thru the day/evening until 9pm when I had to force myself to eat a couple of bites of the wonderful sashimi grade ahi tuna my hubby had prepared!

Careful of some of the TJ's protein powder (has sugar & carbs).
Health food store is best bet for the healthiest protein powders.

HB's Favorite Most Filling Egg Cream

3 organic cage-free eggs (beaten)
2 oz (1/4 cup) heavy whipping cream
1 Tbsp organic virgin coconut oil (melted)
6 oz brewed strong & chilled (overnight) coffee
Jay Robb's whey protein powder (chocolate)
splash of Torani or DaVinci SF syrup (french vanilla)

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!
XO,
HB

I love the jello egg creams, because I am not a coffee drinker. Since adding CO to the cold egg creams are a problem I have been eating a piece of coconut bark in the am with my egg cream. I am worried about the aspertame in the sugar free jello I just haven't been able to make a splenda jello that tastes as good as sugar free jello.

fatima_mystique - I haven't added cream cheese to mine yet. I use either table cream or heavy cream 1/4 cup, 3 eggs, 4-8 fl oz of chai tea and 1/2 of Haas avocado and I find it pretty much filling because of the avocado. Minus the avocado its a no go for me because I'm hungry within the next 15-30 minutes. I have placed an order for CO and waiting for it to arrive, and I keep hearing that CO oil will suppress your hunger. I can't wait to try it. In the meantime, AVOCADO it is.

Ilpirate: Do you find just using CO keeps you fuller or you are still hungry?

hummingbird11: Your combo sounds great. Did you end up skipping lunch? What did you have for dinner?

I am thinking of doing ec for breakfast and lunch and then dinner eat a normal low carb dinner.

Have you tried herbel teas, there are all sorts of varieties and flavours out there. Also you can melt the CO in the microwave for a teeny bit and pour it into your ec's it is supposed to work from what I have read on this forum.

Jello I would stay away from because of the aspartame, etc. this in my opinion would cause a stall for sure. Try Koolaid and add splenda to it probably safer than Jello. IMHO.

You can always try unflavored gelitan (knots makes a brand) and then add the koolaid if you want the thickness..

Hi Moretta! I love your Avatar photo, btw. You look very chic.

Yes, I skipped lunch yesterday, and trust me, I am not a meal-skipper!
Last night I had a very late & very small dinner of Ahi Tuna & Cole Slaw.

TODAY'S PLAN:

B: HB's Favorite & Filling 3-Egg Cream Cappuccino
S: 2 hard boiled eggs (if hungry, but so far so good!)
L: hot chicken wings & cabbage cole slaw
S: ThinkThin brownie crunch bar (before workout)
D: turkey spinach lasagna

I agree with you on the aspartame. That stuff is no good for us on many levels. Better choices are NuNaturals NoCarb Blend Stevia; Xylo~Sweet; Whey Low; Splenda. Even Dr Atkins says aspartame is not good for you.

Kool-Aid (with or without unflavored gelatin) + healthy sweetener is a much better choice than SF Jell-O w/ aspartame.

And remember, along w/ the protein/dairy - it' important to get those veggie carbs in each day!

CORRECT! melted CO works just fine in a cold EC.

I keep my jar of CO right on the flat metal part of my stove cook top (between the burners on each side) so that it stays liquefied.

In my opinion I think egg creams are also good for a quick dinner when one is on the run and does not have the actual quality time to prepare a nice low carb dinner.

Glad we all discovered these and glad I am getting my much needed fullness from the Avocado invention.
