OK So Cal'ers ... here is the start of April ... and it ain't an April Fools joke

Ntombi ... the 3rd?? That's a Thursday?

OK ... the topic of discussion for starters is an April Anniversary Gathering of the SO CAL LOSERS at the original Sizzler where it started ... on Harbor Blvd, just north of Brea Blvd and the North Courthouse, on the west side of the road, across from the Brea Dam. And we are looking to set a date for it. I think Ntombi probably meant the 3rd weekend, which would be April 19th or 20th. Which day are we looking at first off ... Saturday or Sunday? I know Saturday's can be an issue with Lori unless we make it later in the day. So Lori ... what's your input on this?

And Ana ... what would be good for you?

Mike? I imagine you're probably more flexible as me, unless you'll be out in the ocean fishing.

Good morning ALL. A nice bright morning for me .. it's HUMP DAY!!! And my early day. Well, maybe not so bright ... it's still too dark out there to tell if it will be bright or not, they're calling for rain later on.

Ntombi ... it's official ... you're invited to ride along with Mike, Matt, and I on Saturday if you would like. I know you like the independence ... but with today's price of gas ... consider the offer made to just drive to Yorba Linda.

Haven't see Creaky (was it?) in quite a while here. This weekend could have been right up her alley as she's 1/2 way there as far as the rest of us go ... and is with the police out her way.

Ana ... that would be very very neat if you brought Jay to the Sizzler gathering

Speaking of which ... dates ... a date someone ... someone toss one out. I'm tossing out the 26th of April as NOT good for me. Any other date would be fine. Oh yeah ... and do we want to do later, like dinner time on a Saturday .. or would most prefer lunch on a Sunday, so we can accommodate Lori? I guess either would work for me as Debbie works Saturday's and we don't do anythng special special otherwise. Saturday is our El Pollo Loco/Netflix night otherwise as Friday nights are bad for Deb as she has to get ready for working early Saturday.

By the way, Ntombi ... riding with us would not only save ya gas, but would give you a much shorter drive when you might not be feeling up to such a long drive. You could sit up front with Mike, riding shotgun, whilst I snore in the back ... uhhhh ... I mean relax in the back with Matt.

Okay, I'm throwing out the dates that work for me.

April 12th, 13th, 26th, 27th, May 3rd, 4th, 11th (Mother's Day, BTW), 17th, 18th.

I finally washed all the bugs off my car from the Vegas drive. Back to the dentist today, too. Not bad at all; the infection's gone, so there was no pain. I have a temporary crown for two weeks, when I get the permanent, and then this ordeal is over! Now, I have to think about replacing the composite veneers with porcelain. My veneers were put on right after my braces were removed, so they're 17 years old, and not doing the job anymore. That's $1100 per tooth! I may have to go back to Vegas and win a jackpot.

Other than that, no news here, just gearing up for yet another election next Tuesday. This one is only in Long Beach, and don't ask me why they didn't fold it into the THREE OTHER statewide elections this year. Long Beach is so ridiculous with the wasting big money on special elections. And I'm so not in the mood for it right now.

And of those dates ... all but the 26th of April, and the 3rd of May are open to me. Those two are closed, scheduled, and ain't within my power to alter.

Holly gorsh!!!! Of course I'm one to talk .. hearing aids ain't exactly a dime a dozen either ... more like $5 grand a set or more ... and only good for a few years at that ... like max 5 years even

Looking forward Saturday and the smell of gun powder. although it looks (and feels) like rain right now..... the prognosis for Saturday is perfect (mid to high 70's). Be sure and bring a jacket anyway....it gets nippy at the drop of a hat out here.)

Hey, was thinking about just picking up some deli lunch meat, ect for a little nosh Saturday. Nothing fancy (you know me) ...just stuff I usually have around anyhow. If anyone wants anything special......
bring it yourself.

Trying to get Rhonda to come out too...and maybe one of her friends as well. of course there's always a standing invitation for my other friends out here...so, ya never know who will show up.

oh....I do need to send out a warning. Since there are two cats living in this tiny place with me at the moment......everyone MUST BE VERY VERY VERY careful not to let either of them outside!! EVER!!! (the dogs will eat them!!) They both pretty good about not "trying" to make a dash for the door.....but, still......Please, everyone...be VERY aware when you're opening a door. okay? thanks

The concert is May 9th and 10th in the evening, either 7 or 8. I think 8 pm. Let me know if you want free tickets within the next couple of weeks. Otherwise, you're definitely still welcome, but you'll have to pay your own way. I think it's $10.


Oh, I think I forgot to tell you guys that I played Guitar Hero while I was in Vegas! It was sooo much fun! Do you have that for the Wii, Neil? Either way, I definitely want to come hang out and Wii with you soon. I definitely can't imagine having to pay $5k for a new hearing aid every few years. :thud: Sounds like we both need to win a jackpot in Vegas!

Charlee, are you coming back to Long Beach? For my concert, perhaps? We'd love to hang out with you again, and you know you're welcome to sleep over.


Mike, that's how I felt about both Wii and Guitar Hero: several hours, and it still wasn't enough. Glad you had a good time, though. Better to leave wanting a little more than to be over it, I guess.

I wanna go back to Vegas. Like, right now. I've been sleeping like crazy since I got home, and my back hurts. I want to get back into the Excalibur's bed. I was talking to a friend today, and she was asking me what I did in Vegas. I was like We slept a lot. We didn't go to any shows, and we didn't go to the Hoover Dam, because we overslept. We skipped our normal Sephora trip, and didn't do much of anything. That's crazy, but it was perfect for us. It's nice to have a friend you can just be with, and not have to fill the time with activities, you know?

Well, speaking of sleeping, I'm heading back to bed. I'm so sick of sleeping, but it is what it is.

Cold cuts sound just fine ... I was gonna suggest that Mexican place around the corner ... you know, the one we went to about 6 miles up the road and 5 miles to the left. Coldcults would be faster, less time wasted
