Hi everyone. We left early this morning for a drive around the back country just like we used to do. We stopped at a roadside park to walk around a bit. Smokey was in heaven. He seldom sees so many trees. He investigated as many as he could. The river was in full flood. We couldn't walk down by it like we used to. There were all kinds of white water rapids over the rocks.
Charlene....I hope your Mother is better. It is too bad you are so far apart but you can always phone her. My Daffodils are blooming today. We will soon have leaves on the trees. The heat and sun are bringing them all out so fast. The grass is green. DH will soon have to get the lawn mower out. Have a good day everyone.

Hey all...got an update on my mom. I spoke with her briefly around 3:30. She's still very out of sorts, weepy, and in pain..but, she is stable.
It will be about a week before she can go home depending on how she heals. I'm glad my mother's husband is stepping up to the plate and being there for her. He is a quirky fellow and it's just a long story. My sister is planning on going down for 2 or 3 days after she gets home. I'm sure Tom, her DH, will need a break and such and my sister can help with her care even if it is for a few days. Joyce...my sister lives in Greensburg, PA..about 4 - 5 hours from our mom. My brother lives only 2 1/2 hours away from her in Fredericksburg, VA. I'm on my brother to get his arse up there to check on her...but, I highly doubt, he will. That too is a long story. I talked with Candace, my bro's wife, and she doesn't have any plans to go up to help as well. That has chapped my butt for sure. She doesn't work outside the home and yet she states with all that the kids do she just can't get away. Yet, I am completely certain that their "social" calendar is booked solid with BBQs and other parties with their circles of friends. The area in which my brother lives is mainly snooty in my opinion with everyone trying to "keep up with the Joneses" as the saying goes. My mother lives in Port Deposit, MD....just a short distance from Havre De Grace if you know where that is. Also, about 35 minutes or so from Baltimore. Okay....time to take Dom to Aikido and get my walk in. More later....hugs!

Welcome MCP. Jump on in.
Nice here today (lordy, that just doesn't happen). Well anyways off to cut this grass again. If gas keeps going up and up, I would imagine people will be cutting less grass. Charlene, I haven't heard of Port Deposit, but of course Petersburg. I will have to look it up on the map. We haven't gotten our bearings of where anything is here but slowly learning. Happy Day to everyone here also |

Good morning everyone. We are having rain showers.
I just got back from visiting the chriopracter. McP.....Welcome back. We are still the same old bunch here. Lise.....I hope you get a bit of rest. The doctor gave me a new pill. Last night I could not get to sleep. I was up until 2 am which is very unusual for me. I am not taking any more of them. Robin....I am glad your Mother is improving. Joyce....Our grass is getting green. It will soon have to be cut. DH found a 5 gallon can of gas in one of the sheds. It was just like finding gold. |

Afternoon all- WOWZAH I'm late checking in today since I had a naturopathic dr appt this morning so late checking in... So how are we all doing?!? I'm doing so so- no weight loss but no gain either?!?
Man this is getting tougher every year trying to lose a few.... it's never ending and I seem to be just going in circles these past few months- it's getting VERY frustrating to say the least.... I do well OP I'd say about 80% of the time and still no losses to report.... I don't know I'm just fed up today w/it all especially when I ran home @ lunch to ck the mail and whatever and here was a ltr from the Territory Mgr. of WW telling me I need to send her what my plans are on getting back to goal etc... NOT what I needed today so needless to say I'm kinda upset w/everything... I try & try and nothing so I don't know- anyhow off for now will talk to you all later when I'm in a better mood- maybe?@? haha ![]() |

Good morning everyone. It looks like it is another nice day.
Today is Smokey's birthday. He is 4 years old. I don't think we will be doing anything special. Robin....I am sorry i got you are Charlene mixed up. I have been in a bit of a brain fog this week. The news on the weekend that we were great-grandparents again upset all of us. No one in the family, not even the grandparents, were told a thing about it until the baby was nearly a week old. No one even knew she was expecting. How can they educate 6 kids and not work? Lise.....How is your husband- sitter doing? I hope it doesn't make more work for you. |

![]() Oh happy day...I did my official weigh in. 146.1!! Now, let's see if I can keep that over the weekend...the hardest part! I did get my rear downstairs on the treadmill last night. However, I didn't do my normal 30 minutes....just about 22. Usually I just walk with the treadmill set on 3.4-3.7. Two weeks ago I tried to see if I could incorporate some interval slow jogging in as well. So, when I feel like it...I will slow jog at about 4.7 for about 5-7 minutes. I feel good about that because when I started I could only slow jog for 2 minutes! I do have to play the slow jog day by day because of my back. Anyhoo. Today the students don't have school and it's teacher training all day for the upcoming WESTEST. Yawnorama. Hugs to all....I'll try to post at lunch if I don't leave the building at that time. ![]() |

Good morning everyone. It is cloudy but warm today. The cottagers have started coming up for the weekend. I guess the price of gas does not bother them. I heard on the radio this morning that it was going to double before long.
DH was talking to his son in Saskatchewan this week and it was -22 where he was with snow on the ground. I guess we have something to be thankful for. Have a good weekend everyone. |

Well in about 30 minutes my 146.1 will be sabotaged. DH and DS are almost home from their Dad & Dom trip to the airplane museum. They are stopping to bring home pizza....my favorite. To make it worse, from my favorite pizza place.
So, I am going to have 2 pieces and hopefully be done with it. I just know I'd better not look on the scale for a few days. LOL! But, I have been good for several weeks and am trying to keep my carbs at 100ish.... I guess I'll have to get on the treadmill for some extra, extra time! Lise...you are one busy woman! Baking a fancy cake and all that! Lil...yikes, still snow on the ground in Saskatchewan? No thanks...I've just started warming up to the idea of springtime. Mcp...yes, I am still yogurting. I usually eat it for breakfast or lunch several times a week. My favorite way right now is with peanut butter powder, some sweetner, and some sf chocolate chips. Robin....really fabulous that you are walking in a 5K. Way to go girl! Niki....what's up for the weekend? Joyce...haven't heard much from you this week. I hope DH gets our tractor fixed this weekend so we can cut our grass and not have someone else come and do it again. Okay...hugs! Tango is barking. |

Happy Saturday everyone. Just enjoying the day before the rain comes so they say.. My DD is having Mother's Day today since they will be on vacation when the actual day is here. So I baked a chocolate cake and waiting for it to cool. And YES this past week I have ate everything under the sun, got to get myself in control again!!
The past week has been not too bad as far as weather, so working outside cutting the grass and pulling those wild onions out of the flowerbeds (now that is a job). Does anyone have suggestions on how to get rid of them, do they have a spray for them without damaging the flowers? And taking in my hammock also, and I really enjoy that, so haven't been on the computer much. Charlene, one day of pizza will be ok, but not saying you can eat the whole thing now, that will be your challenge. Lise, enjoy your day and the cake etc. Sounds like fun. Your family functions always seem so much fun to me, Im jealous. Lil, how are you today? Hope the weather is still good for you. Oh, how is your new Kia doing? Robin, how is that new baby doing? Growing fast already. Hi Niki also. Ok, Im off to the outside again. Calling for rain tonight and next week cool during the day, in the 50's and maybe some frost. I remember when I was growing up on the farm in Iowa, my Dad always said not to plant potatoes till after Mother's Day. For some reason I have been thinking about him and pototoes..hehe

Lise...you need down day where you can just stay in your jammies and robe allllll day!! Hope you get some rest.
Joyce...chocolate cake! Oh man, I love chocolate cake. Was yours from scratch? Check around on the sprays...they do have the kind that will just kill what the spray touches. You just have to be very careful with it. You can smell the wild onion grass all around here right now along with the lilacs. The lilacs smell so good. I hope it doesn't frost and kill the blooms too quickly. Lil...did you get your legs to work today? ![]() Robin, Niki, and Mcp... ![]() I made a lc gingerbread coffee cake yesterday as a sweet treat. Golly...it is good. I posted the recipe on the recipe suggestions forum. I found it in an old LowCarb Energy magazine from 2005. Time to chill and get off the computer. I've been on and off all day doing stuff! |
