Afternoon all. Time on the internet....that totally depends. I would say 1 hour on average during the week--but probably 3-4 hours a day on the weekends if I'm not out of town or super busy.
b: pumpkin mousse, 1/4 cup peanuts, 2 hb eggs l: taco salad and brownie sundae (oh my goodness that was good!) d: pizza quiche (just getting ready to pull it out of the oven) and jello fluff/salad Hands are still swollen and I'm up a pound today....sigh....I may have to try a high carb/low fat day this week to see if I can shake things up a bit, not sure. Hope you are all having a great Sunday! |

Lucy--oh yeah, I forgot to comment on the menu. I wouldn't think the pumpkin would be the culprit either, but then again, you never know. If you think that's it you can always dump it for a bit and try it again later. When I initially starting upping carbs I would usually gain a bit or stay the same for a week, then lose for a couple of weeks at a quicker rate, then back to normal. Once I was back to my normal rate of loss I would then add in something else. So, just because you are/were up a bit, it doesn't mean that that particular food is a staller. It might be a coincidence or it might be your body adapting to something new. Who knows, it is all a mystery and like I always say, it feels like one big science experiment!

Lei---wooohooo!! I hope it sticks too! At the rate I'm going I think I'll be trading you spots and seeing the 160's soon
I hate that stupid scale--this morning I flipped it off--seriously! I was so annoyed I think I didn't know what else to do! However, my hands AND feet were swollen last night and this morning so I know it's water, but geesh. On my way to work I realized that the pizza quiche I made is loaded with sodium, so the rest will be going in the freezer for now (bummer cause it was pretty tasty!). b: yocheese w/apple syrup and cinnamon, 2 hb eggs, 1 pumpkin muffin l: salad w/fried chicken and honey mustard dressing (I was running late this morning and didn't get to grab all the other salad stuff to go with it), jello w/cream cheese dessert d: mahi mahi, green bean casserole and cinnamon OMM w/cream cheese or butter Well, I actually counted calories for the last week and have kept them below 1800 which is less than usual---but it didn't help---actually I'm up. So, this week I'm going back to not paying attention to calories and for the most part just eating the things I normally would. I'm still keeping carbs fairly low for a couple more days (and watching sodium!)and if the scale doesn't move pretty soon I will probably up the carbs as well. If I can't lose, I might as well eat the things I enjoy! So, whose day is it for coming up with a question? BBL |

Morning chica's!
Back to work this afternoon, so the morning is dedicated to preparing foods for my week..This week is a 6 day'er.... Seems all I ever do is work and sleep lately... I'm thinking a vacation should be in my near future! It's snowing here again this morning, nothing dramatic, but lots of flakes coming down (none sticking) I'll be so glad when this is all over!Teresa~ on you heading in the wrong direction... Is it not normal though to have swelling for up to a year after getting surgery such as your's done? Hang in there chica, it can't stay on forever! And just look at how far you have come so far! Amazing! I wanna be just like you when I grow up! ![]() Off to finish my cooking, will touch base later from work..... ![]()

Lisa--where is that menu little missy? And I think you're right about just doing what I had been and quit stressing--cause nothing I am trying is working, so why not go back to what did work---duh! I'm just a little stubborn sometimes! I'm also thinking about staying off the scale for awhile--after flipping it off this morning I realized that I might be just a bit emotional about it (ya think!) and I don't need that to set me off to carb land again! I will get on tomorrow for weigh in--but then I think I will stay off it for a week--at least that's where I'm at with it today. I am a scale ho--so let's see if I can stick with it!
Lei--yeah, swelling is common off and on during the first year. I haven't heard anyone say they have had it in the hands and feet though---usually just in the surgery site or surrounding areas....who knows. I am also mid-cycle (sorry if that's more than you wanted to hear!) and that is always worse for me with retention than TOM---so maybe it's just a combo of everything. If I had gotten back to my lowest weight after the little binge fest a couple of weeks ago I wouldn't feel as crazy about all of this---crazy, but not as crazy! Missy--I just caught this in your menu---croutons--4 cubes!? OK, seriously, how do you eat just 4 croutons? Actually, I don't like them so I have always picked them off but I thought that was funny! Hope you see the 220's very soon! Lucy--where are you? Are you still getting caught up on sleep? See you all in the morning! |

I'm here, Im just bummed out .I know, I know I should not pay so much attention to the scale, but it looks liek I won't meet my April goal and that is depressing.
I'm also very busy going through all my recipe books and coming up with meal plans for an entire month. We are spending way too much on groceries so Dh set a limit of 500$ a month, and although that may seem generous, i have to squeeze in my CO and any other supplement I take. So, I'm hoping that by meal planning I will be able to do all of that. My DD is STILL TEETHING and it seem its only getting worse ![]() I havent been eating well today, I'm on plan and all, but i went like 6 hours with no food and when I did eat I just ate chicken, havent had almost any carbs all day, i"ve just been so busy!! ![]() |

Teresa... I was testing you to see if you would notice ...actually i did not really eat yesterday & today.....I was on the road and had store bought LC smoothies and was picking at some LC snacks & cashews.......I hate when I go on the road sometimes.....it mucks up my plans....but thanks for noticing...it really means alot to me .....tomorrow I am home and will have menus and REAL food OK![]() Now i like it that you realised that you need to quit stressing about the weight loss ...however i laughed when you said you would avoid the scale...like yea right, a scale ho like you ....seriously though.....I am sure all that swelling has a lot to do with your lack of loss......could you go back to your doctor and ask him how long before the swelling would go away....or maybe he might even prescribe a diuretic .....I am just thinking that you may get peace of mind if the doc could tell you how long to expect the swelling ....then you would know not to expect too much of a loss until after such time...just thinking![]() Lucy......I know me telling you to forget the scale would be a waste of time ......I have been through so much depression and sadness in the past because of a scale reading![]() ....it took me a long time to get past that....one thing i had to do was read read and READ alot about what makes the scale go up and down......sometimes it still gets to me but I hold onto the fact that once I am doing the right thing I cannot be really gaining....it is a serious mind game that we have to play....and learning patience is a big part of it....I know for me i need to do things to distract me from the weight loss....right now i am thinking that April08 is taking FOREVER to finish....isn't it funny when we are gaining and eating crap how fast a month flies![]() .....ANYWAYS that is one of the reasons we need to focus on other stuff while our bodies adjust and is one of the reasons why the Question of the day was started ....however since you seem to be the most stressed (with lack of sleep and all) you will be excused.... for now....so Teresa...it's question time to you again![]() |

Morning!
OK Lisa--I'm taking the scale ho comments as a challenge and I AM going to stay off the scale! I have a feeling I'm going to be at a stand still for awhile--not sure why--but I think I will be and I'm getting an "f-it" attitude which the scale just feeds on--so I'm staying off of it. Now, remind me of why I'm staying off in a couple of days when I start whining! I may call the Dr if I get the weird feet swelling thing again. I think this weekend I will spend some time researching on the tummy tuck forums and see if I can find out if this is common or not. Oh, and I'm glad I passed the test--now, you need to start eating some real food! Lucy--I'm with ya sister, this weight loss thing is about the biggest emotional roller coaster in the world! You do really have to eat though, so find a way to get something in ya at least a few times a day. Want to stay off the scale with me for a week? I know it's going to be hard, but I really think for me my eating and obsession are going to be sooo much better without it--at least I hope. I use to be able to roll with the punches for the most part with the ups and downs, and hopefully I will get back there, but maybe a vacation from it is just what is needed! Lei---so I'll be checking in to see if we should be celebrating a new "decade" with you! Are you still doing WW? And where are your menus? 157.4 but today I reminded myself that it could be much worse. Sometimes I really need to step back and see the big picture, a couple of years ago I was about 200lbs heavier, so with that in mind I guess this isn't so bad!b: pizza quiche and a sf nut cluster (sodium be damned!) l: parm fried chicken tenders and bell pepper strips w/h.m. dip and p.b. cheesecake (oh how I have been missing these!) d: taco salad and jello w/cream cheese This week I have no lunch meetings/obligations--at least so far---so I plan to walk 30 minutes each day at work and do 20-30 minutes on the m.t. or some type of exercise each night. If I can't get the scale moving, maybe the tape measure will! BBL |

![]() Lei! Congrats on your 150's!! GOOD JOB! KUTGW! As for me Well I'm 258 as of yesterday, today I weighed in at 260. I did workout last night, which I hadn't done in 2 weeks. So, yes Teresa I will take you up on that offer! No weighing in till next tuesday! My tape measure also made me cry today, I increased my waist by an inch! I did lose an inch on my arm and .5 on my hips, but Im not a happy camper. I felt so defeated, and I know you all are probably sick of hearing my whine about this. I apologize. It's just urgent for me to get to my pre pregnancy weight of 233. Maybe After that i won't be so anxious to lose weight fast. anyhow for breakfast I had a 1min muffin, and a spam quiche witha sparagus and tomatoes. I also had some Chai and added 2 tbs of CO to it. so that's my crappy update. I really need some motivation to keep working out, I might start callanetics tonight, we'll see . |

Lucy---whine all you want to! You are amongst people who really understand what you're going through--hard to find in real life and not always the easiest thing to talk about. So as far as I'm concerned, feel free to cry, vent, whatever you need to do to dump it here with us. I know I feel better and can move on easier if I can just get it out! Now---I'm glad I have someone to work on staying off the scale with, it's less lonely that way! Also, do you always do coconut oil, or is that a new thing? I know that many consider it a miracle weight loss food, but it has never done anything for me (except make my skin really soft!). I've tried it a few times and I don't know if it stalled me or it was just a coincidence but I didn't lose or lost really slow when taking it---even when I still had way over 100 lbs to lose. So, just thought I'd throw my experience out there in case it fits for you also.
Lisa--you didn't weigh--what the heck is wrong with you?! You are not living up to the scale ho job description! Also, I just remembered that you assigned question day to me---so I'll come up with one in a minute here. Missy---hey, that 232 will be back in a day or two. You cheated with one cookie---what kind of cheat was that? If I could stop at one cookie I'd have one every day! LOL But seriously, that's nothing to worry about unless it's going to lead to more---so just don't let it! Also, you'll hear me preach this all the time--why are you keeping your carbs low? That may be the problem. I'd suggest upping them some, following the ladder or whichever version you are doing. Based on how you picked your goal weight, you were thin before---so it's likely that your carb intolerance is not really high so you probably can handle, and your body may even thrive, with more carbs---just make it fruits, grains, or whatever you're allowed (not cookies!). Lei---WOOOOOHOOOOO!!! How exciting! You have proved you can make it through the obstacles, even one as painful as losing a parent, and still come back strong! Now I want to be just like you when I grow up! Interesting on the Atkins/WW thing--you're giving me more ideas for carb cycling. I do plan to get back to that concept, I just need to get my head in a better spot and it's not there yet. QOTD: If you could wake up and magically be at your goal weight--what (if anything) do you think you would be "missing" by not having to go through the journey to get there? OK, you guys first! |
