No movie rental suggestions? What good are you people!
![]() Lei---3.2 lbs! That is incredible! ![]() ![]() What kind of exercise are you doing? Opps on the cottage cheese--but I suck when it comes to following rules!Lisa--glad your experiment with carbing up went well. I agree it's totally mind over matter---just learn from my last bender, don't do it if you're in a bad mood and/or have not planned or prepared for it! Lucy--personally, I'd go with the lower number, but that's just me! I figure if I see it, it's mine, and anything that happens after that is just the scale bouncing around with the normal fluctuations and it will eventually go back down. Missy--I've found that the OMM's are different each time also. Once you're past induction try mixing almond meal with the flax and they are soooo much better! I'm going to try peanut flour/meal next time I make one and see how that works. Also, you said you used 2 T flax, isn't it suppose to be 4T? And with the baking powder I only use about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon but I also mix in some Carbquick which has some baking powder in it so maybe that's the difference. I think we are missing some peeps! Where did you all go? Day 3 induction menu (final day, thank goodness!) b: 3 hb eggs, 3 bacon l: large salad w/parm fried chicken, red and yellow bell peppers, cheese and gg dressing d: steak, cream of broc soup and sf creamscicle (yeah, probably not the best for induction but I figure it's not any worse than sf jello w/whipped cream!) Well, I would say that these 3 days (OK, so I've only accomplished 2 days so far!) have made me really appreciate my normal low carb foods! I think I will slowly add some things back in over the next week or so and then do some carb cycling. I hope that I can end the month with a 1lb loss and do better next month! |

Lucy--it's so simple and delish! Just use parmesean cheese (the dried/grated kind that comes in a can) and roll your meat in it. Then just fry as you usually would. I sometimes mix it with almond flour/meal, or carbquick as well but since I'm trying to eat clean I went for straight parm. Also, add whatever spices, salt, pepper, etc. to the parm before you coat the meat. I like it pretty simple so I usually just use paprika--but I'm not big on tons of spices. If you prefer it baked it works that way as well. You can dip the chicken (or whatever meat) in a beaten egg or egg white first, then the parm, but I usually don't bother. If you like honey mustard sauce to go with it--let me know, I have an easy recipe for that too!

Afternoon ladies!
Quick check-in, am trying to do some cooking for this work week, as I slacked off on Sunday when I normally do it.. ![]() Teresa~ For exercise, I ALWAYS do crunches when I get up in the morning, 7 days a week... (300-400 hundred) I then either do the treadmill, or rebounder, 6 days a week.... I also throw in 20-25 minutes of Pilate's at least 3 days a week, can't do it anymore then that, cause it literally kicks my butt! My butt feels like it fell off after a workout! ![]() Off to finish cooking and head for work for afternoon shift..Hope everyone is having a great day so far!! ![]() Lucy~ I love the parm chicken as well, taste just like old fashioned fried chicken that my granny used to make for us! Definately a keeper!!

Kidding!! I love pizza, its one of my favorite foods in the whole world... So here's my version of a Pizza quiche...Deep Dish Quiche Pizza Ingredients: 1 4-oz pkg cream cheese 4 eggs 1/3 cup heavy cream 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (fresh grated) 1 Tablespoons chives 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning 2 cups mixed Italian cheeses of your choice 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 cup low-carb pizza sauce Plus any or all of the following "toppings": pepperoni black olives mushrooms chopped green peppers chopped onion ham or bacon bits browned, seasoned and totally drained ground beef or turkey Preheat oven to 375°F. Beat together cream cheese and eggs until smooth. Add cream, parmesan cheese, and spices and mix again. Spray 9" or larger glass baking dish with oil or PAM. Sprinkle 2 cups Italian cheeses into dish and pour egg mixture over it. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes. Spread on pizza sauce; sprinkle on 1 cup mozzarella cheese and pile high with your chosen toppings. Return to oven and bake until bubbly and browning. Allow to stand 10-15 minutes before cutting. *yummy* (freezes well in idividual pieces) Off to work shortly, but I will check back in from there.... |

Teresa: Your Parmesan Cheese chicken sounds really good. I'm gonna have to make that soon.
Lisa: I haven't ever made quiche. I'm not an egg lover, unless its deviled I am out of induction now and just trying to stay under 30 g carbs so I'll stay in ketosis. I was needing some variety. I'll prob work my way up in carbs just to see what my body can handle. I already know 80 is to high lol! Lei: You go girl. Just thinking about doing that many crunches gives me a tummy ache. Was the 300-400 crunches for the week (I hope) or day. |

Morning! Another crazy day here!
Lisa--egg casserole is basically just a huge omelet that you bake. I'm not good at measuring, but pretty much I wisk 8-9 eggs with some Hoods milk (or you could use cream, 1/2 and 1/2, etc) and salt and pepper if you desire. I spray an 8x8 or 9x9 glass casserole dish and put in the egg mixture than add whatever things you like in an omelet and kind of stir it around (probably easier to just add it to the egg mixture before putting it in the baking dish--never thought of that before!). My fav is sausage (cook first), grilled green peppers and cheese. Bake at 350 for...not sure, maybe 20-30 minutes. I don't have time to eat in the mornings before I leave so I always bring breakfast with me to work. This is easy to just portion out into some tupperware and then heat up in the microwave. It also freezes well which is a huge bonus! I can't wait to try the pizza quiche! I bought the ingredients last night so I'm ready to go. Missy--I never liked eggs much either, it wasn't until the last 6 months or so that I have started to really like them...guess my tastes have changed! On the 80 carbs being too much, you might be surprised. If you are insulin resistent, that will correct itself (at least to some degree) over time with low carb and your tolerance will really increase. I think it also depends on the type of carbs you are consuming and if you are keeping fat high enough. Lucy--I'm jealous! I so want the "I forgot to eat" thing to happen to me----just once at least! I'm glad you are getting sleep, you probably just need to get caught up and let your body get use to rest and pretty soon you will be feeling great! Lei--So, who are you rooting for on BB? I'm so glad Natalie is gone, I was scared she was going to win and she drives me crazy! With the exception of Sheila, I like all the others OK so I don't really have a fave. So, are you doing WW or Atkins today? Have you seen the 150's yet? Well, ketosis has hit me hard. Couldn't sleep last night and I woke up starving---grrr, why can't I experience the joys of ketosis? Well, it's time to start upping the carbs, which isn't a bad thing but I so would love the whole appetite suppression deal! b: 2 pumpkin muffins w/cream cheese and 3 slices of bacon l: large salad w/pork tenderloin, red bell peppers, cheese, sunflower seeds and gg dressing, yogurt d: not sure, going out but I'm sure it will be protein and veggies! I still have the dreaded swelling going on, I can feel it in my hands when I wake up, and see it in my stomach when I put my pants on Oh well, it's gotta go away at some point, right?!Have a great Friday, I'll try to check in later! |

Ok gals......
Looks like Lei will have to give us 20
![]() So i have question for you all: Do any or you have a favourite hot dog. I love the taste and carb count (1g per sausage) of "Hebrew National" I was surprised that some of the other popular brands like " Grillers" "Schniders and even" Butterball .....could have from 2g-4g carbs per sausage ![]() |
