Des! How exciting, going to Mykonos! I was there about 10 years ago---so beautiful! How is Stillman's working for you? I've looked at that plan before but thought I would be starving on it.

Lisa--hmmmm, not hungry while clensing, maybe I need to try that!

Missy---have you tried Fiber Sure before? It disolves in anything, hot or cold and is a natural fiber called inulin. I use to add it to my yocheese all the time but lately I have been forgetting.

Lei---ummm, whooshie pie doesn't sound so great, and it's huge. Do you just eat that and nothing else for a couple of days?

Deb---how cool! So, has it changed how you eat or exercise?

Kat--how do you make the OMM in cracker form?

160.4

b: white castle pie and strawberries w/cream cheese dip
l: chicken/brocolli casserole, celery w/cheese spread and pb cheesecake muffin
d: taco in lc tortilla w/lettuce, sour cream and salsa, green bean casserole and yocheese

Catch ya'll later!

Des - ... glad to have you!

Teresa - I'm a little relaxed about the way I'm eating ... not so obsessive ... not sure it's going to take me, but I'm not concerned about it at the moment.

Hey everyone ... I'll try to stop by later ... we're having an open house in our little Fitness Center today (which I'm in charge of) ... so I've got a lot of set up to do.

This is from my journal:

Today's happy thoughts ... have to say it's taking a bit to conjure these up this morning ... unexpected drama at home last night with one of the dogs .... DH was not helpful at all ... ugh! Anyway, it's not going to do any good to focus on that ...

Okay, here we go ... I am so happy and grateful that:
  1. I have perfect health
  2. I am at my perfect weight
  3. I make food choices that nourish my body
  4. I make food choices that nourish my mind
  5. I am happy and content
  6. I have plenty of time to get things done
  7. I am always on time
  8. I am doing the things I enjoy doing
  9. We are getting a tax refund
  10. We have more than enough money
  11. I am receiving all good things every moment of every day

Later!
Deb

Good morning everyone,

Tomorrow will mark one week since I started the diet. I weighed this morning and am very disappointed to see that I have only lost one pound. I think it may be due to the fact that I broke down on Sunday and had some Orange Sherbert and then yesterday ate the toaster struedel that my daughter decided that she didn't want. On the bright side, I took the kids to see Horton Hears a Who last night and didn't eat one kernel of popcorn or drink anything! So maybe there is hope for me afterall, right?

I am really encouraged by reading all of the great posts here! I cracked up when I saw the term scale ho describing ladies who are addicted to the scale! I have to admit that based on this description I used to be a scale ho too! I didn't just weigh daily, I weighed several times a day - very unhealthy! Now, I will weigh once a week. I only weighed myself today because it looks like Tuesday is weigh in day on this board.

Keep up the good work everybody!

Angelica

Des!! I was just about to say, "where are your veggy's veggy's, and veggy's"... Till I seen that your doing Stillmans... Brave girl, only thing I can say is I hope your taking non-synthetic vitamins (whole food) with it! I had a horrible time doing it for a month, and ended up with horrible bathroom issues...
Hopefully it work's better for you!!

No, you eat like you normally would, just use the whooshie pie for your protein... I usually toss most of it in the freezer, and have it another time...

Deb~ More happy thoughts coming your way!!

Angelica~ I am the "scale-ho"! And I still am...
And what the heck is wrong with a lb anyways? You didn't gain, your learning how to eat right, and like I said before, it's NOT A RACE! (says the turtle pace losing girl)
to you!!!!!

Des,

Welcome to the group ... I am new too! I just joined this group last week. I see that you are at 136 lbs and your goal weight is 108. How tall are you? I am about 5'7 my goal is 138! I would kill to weigh what you weigh right now!

It is possible to lose 30 lbs by May 22 but it will be very hard. I lost almost that much in about 7 or 8 weeks last summer doing the KIMKINS Diet (which turned out to be a very unsound LC diet created by a very unscrupulous person by the way). Unfortunately, I have put all the weight back on.

So, I am now returning to regular low carb dieting. I hope I can get back on track. I probably would be doing a lot better if I could stand eating as much tuna as you are!

I wish you lots of success. Your vacation sounds great!

I weighed this morning and I'm 261.5 Just a pound and half, I was aiming for 2.5 lbs actually, but I will take this rather than nothing!! I really think it was the cream that didn't let me lose, I havent had it for 3 days now and I lost right away. the whoosie pie didn't do anything for me LOL, so can't use that anymore! it was SO hard to finish it too, im donew ith ground beef for a while lol.

Hey everybody!!! I am back!!! My computer crashed and I am just back online now!!!! I missed everyone!! I am still on plan and going strong. I haven't weighed myself - but I know that something is going on because my clothes are feeling really different....I almost don't want to weigh in - just in case the scale doesn't reflect how I am feeling...does that make sense? It is so easy to rely on the scale and forget about inches and just health in general. I have no appetite, I pretty much have to force myself to eat....maybe I should add in a few more carbs...I am not sure. I feel so good this way - and not having the urge to eat constantly is so nice, I am afraid to add the carbs in case the cravings start to return. I did add some strawberries in a shake and a few nuts every few days, but that is it.

I am going to go read all of the posts I have missed over the past few days. I will "talk" to everyone tomorrow!!! Have a great night!!

Angelica--1 lb is great! I can't remember if you said or not, but how much are you hoping to lose overall?

Deb--hope the doggies are OK. Not being so obsessive with weight is a great thing in and of itself!

Lei--looks like the transition is treating you well! Hope you are still enjoying Atkins. Are you going back to WW after 2 weeks or a month?

Missy--congrats on the lb! I hope you get the "poo" issue figured out!

Lucy---yay on the 1.5 down, that's great! I know it's not what you were hoping for, but as you know it all adds up!

Thumper--glad you're back! I say if you don't want to weigh, don't do it! So, what exactly is it that you're eating that is causing this no appetite thing? I get so jealous when people say that because I have never been able to attain that feeling!

Lisa--where are you?

b: white castle pie and yocheese w/strawberries
l: pumpkin sausage soup, salad w/lettuce, bell peppers and Green Goddess dressing (OK, I haven't had this since childhood--I didn't even know they still made it!) and pb cheesecake muffin
d: chicken/brocolli casserole over dreamfields pasta and no bake cookie

exercise--I bought a mini trampoline last weekend and have been doing 20-30 minutes of jogging/bouncing/twisting/whatever a day, so I will do that tonight. If I get time I will also try to get in a quick walk at lunch.

Have a good one!

Yeah! I'm down another pound, 9.5 total today. I went to gym last night and had awesome workout. I did 50 minutes on bike and then strength training. I figured my legs would be killing me today. But they hurt more last night.

And it was fiber sure I took I checked. I put it in my coffee this morning and i didn't taste it or have any grit so I'll just remember hot drinks not cold. LOL

See Deb as my title implies....I am practicing POSITIVE affirmation

So ladies....since we seem to share things here we will not normally share anywhere else.....let me give some advice:

If you take a colon cleanser and do not eat.....but eat the next day......you will have a CRAPPY (pun intended) next day............so today (third day after the cleanse) I feel bloaty and my stomach is churning
But I know today will be a great day

yesterday

B - Curried pumpkin & fish in hosein sauce
S - peppermint tea with cream and splenda(CHILLED) quite refreshing
L - LC lasagna & sprite zero
S - yocheese with splenda and bitters
D - none ( fell asleep)

Ok Miss Angie......no more breaking down or eating the kids letftovers ok......you are too new in the LC program to start cheating........if you don't break that habit now...it will plague you for the rest of "Weight loss" life...trust me I know.........when you reach to OWL or even Maintenance...you can plan some allowed cheats....but for the first month.....if you really want to see results and get your body revved up....you have gotta stay clean OK!!.....Good job on avoiding the popcorn at the movies though

Hi my turtle sis.......like you ….I feel this time around is taking sooooo long....however I have adopted your philosopy that IT"S NOT A RACE.........and also added to it NEITHER A DIET.....and I am finding that i am enjoy stuff more without pressure..............maybe cheese, nuts and cream slows down my weight loss…..but those foods make me feel like I am not on a diet ….so I don’t want to give them up….however I will cut down on them from time to time….KWIM

On another note………….Which do you prefer…taste wise…Whoosie pie OR White Castle pie?

Thanks, Teresa, she (my greyhound, Jolene) is doing better ... she is old and has arthritis in her back legs and is having trouble getting up the few steps she needs to. We're having a ramp built, but in the mean time, she's scraped up her legs pretty badly. So, we have to clean and bandage her every day, she's on antibiotics and is in a lot of pain. I have to take her for a walk in the a.m. and at least one in the p.m. for her "constitutional" (). She limps and whines ... poor baby! Then I have to pick her up to get her on the deck and into the house (not a huge deal, but she is 70 lbs ... good exercise for me).

The drama was over getting her to the vet, DH doesn't handle stress gracefully and I wasn't handling his reaction well ... but, we're all settled down now and everything is fine ....

Thanks for asking ... she'll be fine ...

Ooops, gotta go to a meeting ... I'll be back.

Deb

Lisa - I'm so proud of you for thinking positively! Thank you!

The open house went well yesterday. We've found this really great personal trainer that we're going to contract with to come here on a regular basis (a few hours a month). She's really great ... I'm excited! Plus, we have a decent fitness center (a couple of eliptical machines, a tread mill, stationary bike, a universal machine, free weights a couple of tv's and exercise dvds) that not that many people use ... and it's free! Can you get a better deal than that?!?

So, we had 50+ people go through and had lots of fun with a fitness challenge (which I passed, btw ... ... although I skipped the jump rope portion) ... and a raffle.

Okay, I'm off again ... will be back later with my positive thoughts for the day. A quick preview ... I am feeling good today ...

everyone!

Woohoo Missy! Congrats on another pound! So, looking at your last menu you only ate 1356 calories...is that normal for you? I'm not trying to be nosey, but I've truly never paid attention to calories since eating low carb until now, and I'm just very curious about how others eat and what works for them.

Lisa--I'm not sure how long it will take to get back to siggy....I've had a meal here and there that was totally high carb/high cal/etc. but I have never had a complete blow out day and gained that much. Usually one huge carby meal would take me about a week to get off. It use to take me only 3-4 days but the closer I get to goal the longer I have to pay for being naughty! I'm guessing that wherever I land by next Tuesday will be my real weight and I'll just have to work my butt off to get down from there. As for the White Castle Pie---I just use onion powder, and lots of it. I don't like real onions and I don't like the flakes---weird, I know!

Deb---glad your dog is getting the care she needs. I so hate it when animals are in pain, makes me feel helpless!

Got a meeting, bbl.

No that hasn't been my norm. I was eating around 2300 . I was just counting carbs. But started putting it in sparkpeople website and it tracks everything. I haven't been losing as fast as Id like so I'm going to try bringing my calories down too. At least under 2000. I'd like to be about 1500 though.
