Hola ladies!!

So I just got back from the health food store, and the lady there sees me all the time, It was kind of embarrassing to talk about poop with her, but she has known all my other issues LOL. So appearantly if you crave chocolate, you are probably deficient in magnesium. I mean, i went in there TO buy magnesium so she didn't have to tell me all a bout magnesium, but I did have to admit i have been addinge xtra cocoa to my morning latte. My fit day chart looks great for the most part (the nutrients part) but my calcium is SUPER low, that's NO GOOD either. So I found the perfect supplement for me. It's called Nerve & Osteo support by country Life. It has a 2:1 magnesium to calcium ratio, and also includes Vit D and Iodine. Which are all necessary. I also got this herbal tea call "smooth move" It's the same brand that makes my mother's milk tea, but I just find the name soooooo funny! Anyhow, I'm drinking that right now and took my magnesium a lil while ago. I also bought a Whey & greens protein powder that is sweetened with stevia, so it's only 2carbs for 2 scoops! 20g of protein, it has tons of vit A (from Spirulina, chlorella, barley grass, alfalfa) it also has vit C,E,K<B-6,B-12,Calcium,Iron,Phosphorus,Magnesium and potassium. WOW!! It's like complete nutrition! Now I have to taste test it! I hope it's not I'm not too crazy about protein powder, but I was gonna add a superfood to my diet anyway, so this will do

So I got on the scale this morning
I'm up half a pound. I dunno why, but I'm feeling SO discouraged. No, I don't plan to go binge or take it out on food, but reallyf eel let down. The scale has only been fluctuating UP, not down.

Last night I went over on my carbs by 10 all because I ate cabbage, it's not like I went to go eat cake kwim? I drink at least 72oz of water a day and I don't cheat, not once have I cheated. I'm NOT happy about this.

Lucy said poop! Glad you found something to try!!

Now about the half lb..... Don't fret so much girl, it's obviously a lack of too much poop! 1/2 pound is nothing, and fluctuations happen, its a part of life... You did not gain a half pound of fat, but rather water weight... Could be from anything, salt, cheese, protein, who knows, but plz don't get discouraged... You'll find you'll fluctuate all through your journey, and yes, it IS normal!! Now chin up, and get back to the serious matters here.. Happy pooping!!

Linda

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are having a great weekend! It is dismal and raining here in North Carolina. At least it has warmed up somewhat. Spring hasn't fully "sprung" here yet in my opinion! Everytime I think warmer spring weather is here for good ... we get another cold front! I know... I shouldn't complain because I have relatives up north who have it a lot worse! It's just that I LOVE warm weather!

Well, just to keep me "accountable" I will post today's menu. I am dying to get on the scale but I am restraining myself until next Tuesday. That way I have less chance of sbatoging myself in my first week back on a L/C diet.

Menu:

Breakfast: 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/ unsweetened strawberries (splenda)
Lunch: L/C sub with turkey breast, green pepper, tomato, lettuce and muenster cheese
Dinner: Chicken breast and salad

Have a great day!

Angelica

Lucy...you are like a walking drug store....I can't keep up with all your supplements

now as for the 1/2 pound....I remember i used to get so fanatical about the slightest gain on the scale.....it took me years to realise that this was a lifetime change for me and I had to learn to relax and enjoy each day......you know you are not cheating, so your body is just adjusting....I would tell you to lay off the scale for a couple of days....but who would i be fooling.....so jsust relax and try to shift your focus a bit and I PROMISE YOU the scale will respond positively soon

I'm here, I'm here! I need to go back and catch up on reading. I actually made it through the day yesterday just fine. I ate a ton of food, but nothing off plan. Sadly, the scale stayed the same this morning, but that's OK, I just wanted to get past the out of control feeling and I'll start dealing with the weight gain next week. I really thought I would be back here yesterday but the work day got away from me as it sometimes does, and I had plans with friends after work last night. I didn't get home until 4am! I think just getting out with friends and getting some distance from my own silly problems (not that they're silly, just not as big as I am making them in my own head) was exactly what I needed. Now I'm going to go read how all of you wonderful ladies are doing, bbiab.

Lucy--I have no clue what a whooshie pie is, but if it works I would like the recipe please!

OK, I'm all caught up, and since I'm behind a couple of days, be prepared for an even longer than usual post!

Angelica--Glad to hear the lavish bread is good for pizza, I'm going to have to give that a try. So you aren't a daily weigher? Girl, you are stronger than I--I go crazy when I can't get on the scale! But then again, lately I have been going crazy when I do get on the scale---so maybe I'm just crazy or maybe I need to stay off--probably both!

Lisa--no electicity for an whole day! Yikes---I can't handle it when it's more than a few minutes! Sound like you and your family made the most of it and had a great day of bonding. Thanks for the "soft shoe" and needed that, and probably a "boot to the head" as well! I think there is some truth to the "goal anxiety"--which also fits with my whole "can I maintain this" anxiety. I'm working hard on staying in today and letting the rest work itself out. Problem is that I am such a control freak that it's really testing me! Now, however, knowing that I have the WHIP OF CORRECTION to look forward to, I am going to stay on the straight an narrow!

Lei--thanks for the hugs! 11 lbs in one day---I hope I never break that record! Ya know, I understand why the big gains when we introduce a bunch of unhealthy carbs, I just don't understand why it has to take so long for the water weight to go away. I'm pretty confident that at least a lb of my pig out gain is fat--and that's fine--I "earned" that so I have to work to lose that again. But, I'm sure it will take at least 2 weeks to get the water weight off, seems like my body doesn't like to play fair! The only upside to it is that it definitely deters me from wanting to do anything like that again anytime soon!

Thumper--no wonder you are nervous about your dd getting on a new horse--how scary! Good for her however that she didn't allow that accident to ruin something that is obviously a passion for her. Gosh, thinking about horses makes me want to go for a ride. I didn't ride for years due to my weight--didn't want to kill some poor horse! I am going to make that a goal for this summer---find someplace nearby where I can "rent a horse" to ride for a couple hours---ahhh, that sounds like so much fun!

Deb--I love your happy and grateful thoughts lists. It makes me feel more centered when I read them. I am going to have to get the book. Do you feel changes internally as a result?

Missy--whipped cream is OK if homemade w/out sugar or if you get the sugar free kind. Land O Lakes has a sugarfree kind in the can that they sell at Wal-Mart. As far as keto sticks--use them first thing in the morning to get the most accurate reading. If your container has remained open and exposed to air for very long they will go bad. Also, it is said they will last for 6 months after opened but I have never had them last that long. How do I know--well, I will show no ketosis when I know that I am in it, then go buy new sticks and low and behold, I am in ketosis! I use them on occasion, but anymore it's not for the same reason as most people. When I get beyond trace ketosis I can't sleep well and I'm starving! When I start to feel that way I will check to see if I'm beyond trace and that is usually the problem, so I just need to up my carbs. I do also use them on occasion when I try new foods just to see if they kick me out of ketosis but mostly I use the scale and my mood and hunger level to determine if a food "agrees" with me.

Lucy--talk about poop all you want, it doesn't bother me! I'm glad you got the magnesium, I love it! I'm sure they told you at the health food store, but just in case they didn't, make sure to take it daily, not just when you are having a problem. You can always up the does if needed, but once you are consistently taking it, you shouldn't end up with a problem unless you have made a dramatic change to your diet or are having some type of health problem. I understand your frustrations with the scale--I often hate mine! But remember all those inches you are losing--dumb scale doesn't know everything!!

OK, submitting this before I lose it!

Question of the day---I love being comfy! Right now I am in a huge sweatshirt (that use to fit me) and baggy sweats and big fuzzy slippers!

Vitamins I take daily
Magnesium
Biotin
Multi

Menu for today (again, still eating whatever I want, as long as it's low carb for the rest of the weekend)
b: 2 pumpkin muffins and 2 peanut butter cheesecake muffins (wow, that is a ton of calories right there!)
l: small salad w/grilled chicken, sunflower seeds, cheese and light dressing
d: rib eye and yocheese w/sf apple syrup and cinnamon

Not balanced at all, but it's actually better than yesterday when I ate a ton of lc food with very little veggies or lean protein so I think it will level itself out by Monday.

Have a great Saturday everyone (I can't believe it's almost over---I have basically done nothing today!)!

Lisa, LOL!

Good morning! Busy day here. Since I have been blowing off responsibilities for the last few days, now I have a ton to do.

b: omelet and strawberries w/cream cheese dip
l: salad (same as yesterday) and granola bar
d: ribeye, green bean casserole and key lime pie custard w/w.c.

Weight is the same and TOM has decided to start 4 days early--ugg!
I decided rather than trying to cycle this week I'm just going to eat my normal low carb/low glycemic/mod fat type of fare and reassess next weekend.

Cooking for today:
pumpkin sausage soup
broccoli/chicken casserole
fried chicken strips
green bean casserole
peanut butter cheesecake muffins
granola bars (I'll share the recipe as soon as I try out the new tweek)
I'm also looking for some type of almond cookie/cake type recipe that could be used for strawberry shortcake. It is that strawberry time of year ya know! If you have a good one, let me know!

Hope everyone enjoys the day!
