Is today measurement day??
![]() Okay I hopped on the scale and I have not lost a thing.258 is my weigh in I was bummed out all week cuz I didn't FEEL I was losing anything. Inch wise, nothing either. What am I doing wrong? Those menus I showed you guys last week are my typical menu, i havent changed any, maybe just the meats. Could this possibly be because I don't excercise?? haven't done it most of the month. I have not fallen off pan at all.......... well last night I stuck my finger in the almond butter jar, but that was it. Do I have to go back on induction? Am I gonna be stuck there till I lose most of my weight?? I'm really finding the urge to eat other things, I dont think i CAN stayon induction so long. *sigh* what should I do? I have been "stalled" since I increased my carbs from 20 to 25 BUT thats also when I stopped working out. I drink lots of water too and watch my sodium. I'm feeling so very discouraged, but when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror I remember why im doing this. Thanks for listening to me yet again.

Saturday was pretty bad carb wise. I'm trying to stay under 90 carbs cuz i know I leave Ketosis around 100 c. I was out of ketosis Saturday night but back in Sunday night . I went shopping last night and bought more meat. I was plumb out and scrounging for things to eat. Witness my menu yesterday of no nutritional value! Bought some yummy steaks I can't wait to cook.I hope everyone has a great weight in BBL.

I think your menu's are great and it'll come off soon. Adding exercise should really help. I know my sticks wouldn't show ketosis anything but trace, even around 30c before I started exercising. Now I'm showing deep ketosis at 90carbs. I'd def start exercising. Good luck! |

Hi,
Do you ladies mind if I join your group? I have been back on LC for about 2 weeks now, after gaining back the 24 lbs I lost last year. Also, those pounds brought friends. Not good. I weighed myself last Tuesday and I was 258.8. Ugh!!! This is my highest weight EVER, and this was AFTER being on induction for 1 week! I went thru a particularly rough patch early in the year and I was not taking care of myself at all. I barely paid attention when my clothes started to feel tight. But at the begininng of April I felt like I had blown up huge all of a sudden. I can't fit into any of my size 18's and I had to go shopping for 22's, which was a real downer. Anyway, I'm wondering if some of this is bloat from TOM being MIA for about 3 months. It recently came back with a vengance, and I honestly feel less bloated. As for the scale....I've decided to weigh once a month. Last time, I was on the scale everyday, sometimes twice a day, and it made me crazy. Especially when I hit a stall, and lost/gained the same 3 pounds over and over for weeks. I grew very discouraged and eventually fell off the wagon. So my focus is to stay on plan and excersize. I know the weight will come off eventually, whether I watch the scale or not. KWIM?

So far, I don't mind the oil pulling, but I haven't done it long enough yet to give a rating on it. However, I did use it after shaving my bikini line last week and had NO red bumps! (I think it was Tooter who recommended it). That was amazing! I always get red bumps.... to the point where I'd wonder if the bikini line looked any better after shaving, or if I should just not bother. Now I don't have to worry! I'll keep you updated on the oil pulling after I've done it for a while.Weighed in today, even though I did yesterday too (trying not to be a scale ho ), and have lost a pound, so I'm 198.4. Whew! At least it's heading in the right direction again!Went to the Y this morning and did arms, abs and 2 miles on the treadmill - 1.5 I jogged at a 10.45 min. mile pace. I'm trying to work myself up to a 5K. Considering I could barely jog 2 minutes at a 12 min. mile pace when I started this adventure back in September, I'm pretty happy. Menu: B: 1 piece sausage & spinach crustless quiche L: 2 chicken thighs and cottage cheese D: taco salad & cucumber salad S: ?? Dessert, if I want it, will be chocolate miracle fluff. Have a great day everyone!

Anyway, I'm gonna try and seriously cut back on coffee tomorrow even though I'm in ketosis even with the milk, its a lot of needless carbs and calories.. I would use cream but the calories and fat... eek. B: 2 soft boiled eggs & butter L: Ham salad (ham, lettuce, a tomato, cucumber, 1/2 a pepper and tbsp mayo) D: S: Lots of coffee with milk... Walked to work again today. I discovered yesterday that skipping for 10 minutes burns more calories than walking 2 miles in 25 minutes, so did 10 minutes of skipping too lol.

Hey everyone!!
Sorry I did not get a chance to post today (this is a late post for me!)... I overslept for work today and had to get ready in 1 hour... I usually take 2.5 hours! I don't even know how I managed to do that. Have any of you heard the stories about mums getting like super-human strength to pull their child out of a dangerous situation because of the adrenaline? I think that is what happened to me today, , and I went 10X as fast as I normally do.Anyway....... I didn't get to eat before I went to work , and I had to take me antibiotic called Biaxin on an empty stomach for another ear infection, so I felt like I was going to hurl all day. I just ate 2 eggs scrambled with some shredded cheese, and then 1 tblspn of butter on a tiny piece of low carb bread (I know it isn't allowed but me calories are too low and I'm not hungry enough to eat a high volume of food). I also didn't weigh meself today! Sorry, I didn't have time, and I always weigh meself in the MORNING so that it is more accurate. I will definitely weigh tomorrow. And then we measure on this Thursday? Sounds good!Well have a fantastic afternoon/evening all! I'm going to try to eat something else a little later on, but I'm not sure of what just yet. Probably some coffee and then a salad, not together though! ![]()

Basically, you take 1 t. to 1 T. of either coconut, sunflower or sesame (untoasted) oil and swish it around in your mouth for 10 - 20 minutes. (Like when you were a kid and swished jello through your mouth and teeth). It supposedly has many benefits including: whiter teeth, healthier gums, softer heels, supposedly pulls toxins out of your body... there are many more claims, but I'm just in it for the tooth and gum benefits. If anything else happens, it is just a bonus. Coconut oil, OTOH, has a lot of topical uses as well because it is naturally antiviral/antibacterial. People use it for cleansing, moisturizing, after shaving, as a deodorent, as a sunscreen... again, there are a lot more uses. If you do a search on this board for "oil pulling" or "coconut oil" (some just say CO) you'll get a bunch of threads to read if you're interested. Also, you can google "oil pulling" and get a lot of info. HTH! |

Hi all! I'm really sick today with that darned ear infection.. I don't know how all this came about..
but it is affecting me menu nonetheless. I DID WEIGH THIS MORNING THOUGH....................................... and I'm happy to report that I lost 3 pounds since about 4 or 5 days ago! Would you believe that!?! Atkins DOES work!!!!!! ![]() ![]() For yesterday, I think I ate: Meal 1: 2 eggs scrambled with some shredded cheese, Meal 2: 1 tblspn of butter on a tiny piece of low carb bread Meal 3: 1/2 cup cabbage with butter Meal 4: Turkey burger with cheddar cheese Meal 5: A scoop of cream cheese Meal 6: some more cheese ![]() Hmm, and I think that's it. Bear with me though with me diets for the next few days. If yesterday and so far today are any indications, I think I'll be eating a very small amount of food, but a large amount of that will be cheese. If that makes any sense?! I'm trying to limit me cheese consumption because Atkins has a 4 oz limit, but I just don't have the energy to cook really. So far today I had:Meal 1: a scoop of peanut butter (I KNOW, IT'S NOT ALLOWED!! But I swear that it was only 2 teaspoons, not even a full tablespoon)Meal 2: 1 tblspn of butter on a tiny piece of low carb bread Meal 3: Turkey burger with cheddar cheese Meal 4: scoop of cream cheese And for the rest of the day? Maybe some coffee, a salad, cabbage or broccoli, and a beef hamburger. Good luck today for all! I am going to dread measuring tomorrow. Even though the pounds say I'm less, I look and feel MORE bloated for some reason. How could that happen?? ![]() |

Allowing myself a quick drive-by today... need to get moving on the rest of the boxes I have left to unpack. I'm taking the boys to Tucson to visit my parents and we leave May 24. I intend to have the house in order by then. We get back June 11, and DH's sister & crew will be in town visiting that week. As Niecy Nash says, I don't want anymore "mayhem and foolishness" hanging around my house by then!
Exercise this morning: Back & shoulder machines, crunches, 2 miles on treadmill, 1.25 at 10:42 pace, .25 at 10:00 pace, the rest warm-up/cool-down. Menu: B: 1 piece sausage & spinach crustless quiche (fast becoming my favorite thing to eat!), 2 slices summer sausage (the best you've ever tasted, made right here in ND) and water L: egg salad on a LC tortilla w/ shredded lettuce (made w/ 3 eggs, mayo, mustard, salt, pepper & onion powder), chocolate miracle fluff S:? if I want one, maybe almonds D: turkey burgers and loaded broccoli (unless I'm taking DS to swimming lessons tonight, then it will be a bunless Wendy's baconator & caesar side salad) So far I cut my Diet Coke intake down to just 2 cans today. I have one left out of the case for tomorrow and then that's it. Will make do with water & ibuprofen if needed. (Although I may have to try my hand at making a yummy iced coffee... not a big coffee drinker, but those sound like a nice afternoon treat).Have a great day everyone! I'll be putting my tape measure in my bathroom so I don't forget to measure in the AM! OH! And to all the other newbies to this challenge that joined about the same time I did - HI! ![]() |
