Yes!!! I bought the chicken legs because they were cheap too LOL It is a nice change of pace and my son LOVES them. I love baking them in the oven until they basically fall apart. I normally like to melt a stick of butter, put in the legs, pour teriakyi sauce over them and top with sesame seeds..YUM. But, the teriakyi is quite sugary so now I have to think of something else. Any ideas?
*I think i spelled teriakyi wrong...oh well LOL

I am just mixing up some olive oil, lemon juice, rosemary, salt and pepper. Then dumping it over the chicken and let it marinate all day.
My hubby likes when I just make up some ranch dressing and coat the chicken and bake in the oven. That is too easy.
If you come up with any ideas throw them my way....always looking for something new.

Toni~ I noticed your post on the coconut oil. You really like it? You just eat it by itself? Do you cook with it? Have you ever used it as a moisturizer? I didn't even know people did that...I am learning lots from this sight

Yes, I LOVE coconut oil! Of course, I love coconut too Sometimes I eat it plain but most of the time I'll eat about 1/2 t. at a time with the other half of the spoon Skippy Natural Peanut butter. It's so cool and fresh. I just like that smooth texture - I sometimes eat this when I'm craving something sweet. It's a like a little taste of candy to me...I dunno. LOL I don't cook with it because the brand I get DOES have a pretty nice coconut flavor and I don't always want that in my food. I did fry chicken breasts in it once though I wasn't sure I liked that. I've never used it as a topical because I like eating it better and it's rather pricey to be using as a lotion. If I had a skin problem (eczema or something) it would be worth trying. I use it more for the metabolic effects. I have melted it in the flax muffins before - but it leaves more of an oily residue than butter does. When you get the oil, it is hard, harder than veg. shortening. So, I just sort of "shave" it off with a spoon. I like the way that feels better a big "hunk"..ya know? Do you have a health food store around? Maybe you could call them and try some before spending the $ on it. I hate being disappointed with items that are costly

Toni~you can make your own teriyaki sauce by mixing soy sauce with Splenda. You can add lots of yummy things like chopped green onions, garlic or garlic powder, sesame oil and sesame seeds, ginger if you like that, etc... I mix all of those things together for my sauce; it's more a Korean sauce. Yummy. You did great at the breakfast. I went to a kick-off senate campaign breakfast yesterday and was very happy with the legal items I could eat.

Stacey~coconut oil is a great addition to this WOE. I put it in my protein drinks or just eat it off the spoon. I also make a coconut chicken with the oil and coconut milk. I don't use it every day, or even every week, but it comes in handy at times.

I'm getting worried about Lisa. Hope you're alright, good friend.

Thanks for the sauce tip Sue! I forgot DH has golf league tonight so there's no rush to get dinner going

I'm concerned about Lisa too - she's usually on here every day. She hasn't posted since 4/25 :/ I guess it's one of those weird things about being online buddies. You never know how other people are doing.

Sue~That sauce sounds really yummy. Thanks for the idea. I got a bunch of chicken legs on sale and needed more ideas about what to do with them.

I am wondering about Lisa too. Hope all is well!

Good Morning

Hmmm...still no Lisa. :/ worried If she doesn't show up by next week, would it be too weird if I called her? I'm not a weirdo - just worried - she does't normally just "disappear" on here. :/ What do you think?

I don't know of my eating plan today. From 1-4 I am helping with a radio-a-thon up at the radio station. It's a fundraiser for the county youth club. I really don't want to screw up ...day 6

Happy Friday!!!!

Lisa~ I am so glad you checked in. We have been wondering if all was going well. You just shout out if you ever need to chat. We are definitly here for you!

Toni~Day 6 allright! You have been doing so well...keep at it!

Today I did an ab work out, and spent the day shopping with my son. We hit a few thrift stores....I just love bargain hunting. I have a wedding to go to at next weekend and found a Marc Jacobs dress for $4.99. How can you beat that. I also had a Dr's appointment this morning. I have been calling everyday to see if they have a cancelation and yippee they did. I had tons of blood work done and need to go back next month....still no clue as to my missing monthly. Ohwell!

Went out to lunch at mcD's. Had a quarter pounder with just cheese and no bun. that was OK right? I also had a side salad with a tiny bit of dressing. Hope you all have a terrific weekend!!

ooohhh bargain shopping - that's me too!!! gotta luv those stores

Yeah, the McD's is right on - just be careful of their dressings though - I was surprised at how high the carbs were in the ranch dressing. One time, I went through the drive through and got that chicken/bacon salad (whatever it was at the time). I took one look at the dressing, and drove through Burger King and got the $1 side salad..mixed them together and used the BK (Ken's Steakhouse) ranch dressing LOL

Last weekend I stepped on the scale..it read a whoppin' 185. 8 lbs THE highest in a LONG time. This morning, was 182.6 - so I lost 3.2 lbs. this week. WOO HOO!!! REALLY hoping to get under 180 this next week. I'll try and wait until next friday to weigh again. Around 180 is when I start feeling physical problems due to the weight - heartburn, water retention, etc. Maybe that's why I have a hard time getting out of the 170's - because it becomes "comfortable" with those things gone. I HAVE to do it!!! My mini goal right now is 165 - I hope I can reach it!

The radio thon went well today - we raised $70,000!!!!! A tad of background - the county afterschool youth program was funded by a 3 yr. grant that just ran out - without a campaign, there would've been no program next year.

Got up early - DH and I watched our next Netflix movie - Hard Candy. Anyone seen this! Good acting, suspenseful but sort of made me sick. LOL Love the early Saturday morning coffee/movie times Heading out to soccer game at 10 and baseball game at 1. No eating plan today - hopefully I can make some good choices.

Hope everyone is well!

Good Saturday morning ladies.

Toni~you had a very successful radio-thon yesterday. Congrats on your loss this week.

Stacey~I also love thrift shopping. I've found some wonderful clothes at thrift stores. Hope the docs find an answer for you.

Lisa~hope you're feeling better today.

I have a double header baseball game to take youngest DS to today. DH is sick with a stomach bug and can't go with. I just wanna stay home.

Hope everyone has had a great day! It ended up so windy and cold today - lost at soccer, won at baseball..finally got home around 3:30. Managed to stay on plan all day - I feel REALLY good about that since it's the first Saturday I've managed that task in a long time. My appetite is starting to diminish - so that's a good sign.

B - 2 c. coffee w/splenda/half/half
- 2 scrambled eggs in butter w/half/half and melted cheese
- tava drink

L - chicken lunchmeat, cheese, mayo, romaine wrap
- small celery stick with PB
- cheese "crackers" with taco meat/cheese dip

D- Baked garlic/rosemary chicken legs (yes, I've finally cooked these)
- green beans w/bacon
- romaine salad w/tomato and parm. cheese
- 1 c. coffee w/splenda/half/half
-1 rus. stover s/f toffee square

Normally we would've had our annual cinco de mayo party today - but so many of our friends had other engagements that we called it off this year. We'll find another excuse to party over the summer.

Sue~How'd the double header go? How are you feeling?

Toni~Great job on the loss and staying on plan. That is awesome!

Lisa~Hope your weekend is a blast!

Today my son and I went to garage sales. He got more toys that he doesn't need and I got some new blankets to take along camping. I also hit one sale at closing time and the lady and I got to talking. She had tons of children's clothing and she gave it all to me for $5. I got four bins full of barely used stuff...How nice was that. My hubby is going to take it to the thrift on base which helps needy military families. What a deal

Happy Sunday!!!

Stacey - how old is your little one? You got a great deal on the garage sale items - isn't that so fun???

Lisa - sure missing you!!

Sue - how are you healing up? really hoping your energy level is returning

I passed up key lime pie and popcorn at a friend's house last night - wasn't as difficult as it would've been this time last week Feels good to get a little self control back.

On to another week! Probably going to be a difficult week at work AGAIN - one of our church members was killed in an auto accident the other day. Probably, yet, another funeral to pull together. We live in a small community and have less than 200 members in our church (ours is probably the biggest in our town) - so it really seems funny to have so many funerals in a row. He was such a nice man too C'est la vie I suppose.

b- 2 c. coffee w/splenda/half/half
- 2 scrambled eggs in butter w/half/half/grilled onions & melted cheese

l - leftovers
- 2 baked chicken legs (in butter w/garlic and rosemary)
- green beans w/bacon

d - hmmmmm......we'll see how the day plays out. Maybe steaks on the grill MMMMMM (i bought some t-bones on mark down the other day)

sun is out - looks like a day of yard work for us!

Have a good one all!

Hope you are all enjoying what's left of the weekend. It was a PERFECT day here in the midwest. DH and I got some MUCH needed yard work done - grass cut, leaves raked, hedges trimmed and everything cleaned up. Felt good to be out in the sun

Stayed on plan all day - getting ready to throw some steaks on the grill for dinner. I wish we had one more day of weekend left. :/

Have a great evening everyone!

* I just noticed that there are 4 of us on this challenge board, and each of us is in a different time zone. I guess it's not quite beginning evening for Stacey and Sue yet - but about dinnertime for Lisa LOL

Good Morning! Another beautiful day in the neighborhood here Very Thankful!

YEAH!!!! I made it through the WHOLE weekend guys!!!! I'm so happy about that. I think I'm finally feeling the effects of keto now - I'm glad to have my energy back! Worked in the yard until 3 yesterday, then did laundry and was cleaning the bathroom at 8:30 last night LOL Wasn't even tired by the time I went to bed and right back up at 5:30 this morning.

B - 2 c. coffee w/half/half/splenda
- 2 scrambled eggs in butter w/half/half/onions/cheese

L - ???

D - Beef Roast in crock pot w/onions and sweet potato
- romaine salad
- Steamed broccoli w/butter

Better finish my eggs and start getting ready for work. I'm really hoping the funeral is not at the church this week. We'll see.

Happy Monday everyone!!!!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I did. We did a run yesterday morning...yuck! I hate running. My time was ok, but I need to shave off about 45 seconds.

Anyway, splurged on a blizzard at DQ. We celebrated Mother's day yesterday. Next weekend the first half of our group of soldiers leaves for Iraq, so Mother's day will be spent at the airport.

Toni~Jace is three and just a load of fun. He has a dentist appointment later this morning. It is the first time going. Hope it goes well

Did Turbo sculpt this AM and Calanetics last night. Have a happy monday!

Good morning ladies.

We ended up not having a double header on Saturday, which was fine since it was raining and cold out. DS was disappointed, as he was playing well.

I made a huge mistake on Saturday night and had pizza. But, I paid a horrible price and could hardly move for 15 hours. NO MORE PIZZA. I think I'm very intolerant to wheat products. I'm learning as I go....painful lessons, but lessons indeed.

Toni~so glad you're doing well and that your energy is back. Now how about handing some over to me.

Stacey~I read in another thread that you were in the Army; I'm assuming you're out. Is your husband in the Army? My sister's husband was a Chaplain in the Army and he just retired a year ago. They had a great life, got to travel and live in wonderfully warm places.

Lisa~I hope you had a good weekend with your family. Praying for you.

Yes, I got out when we both received orders to Korea and it was to be unaccompanied. That means we would of had to leave our son in the states. He was only six months old. I said heck no! So I chaptered out and my husband went by himself. I sucked, but we didn't want other people raising our son. Dual Military is hard. Anyway my hubby is in now for the full twenty or more. I like staying home. It is great! I have two classe
