Well I finally tried on a pair of shorts my friend gave me. A size smaller than last year, Yeah!!! Now I just need some fake tanner on my legs, they are blinding

Lisa~hope you enjoyed your shopping trip. Wish I was more excited about summer clothes, but my legs are NOT summer ready, either in color or size.

Stacey~how neat about the shorts! Congrats on being a size smaller.

Stacey~ What tanner do you use? My DD tried the one from Jergens to get some color for prom and it worked well! I wanna get some for me too-it even has firming lotion in it And congrats on smaller size

Toni~ How was the trip?

Good Morning!

I don't even want to touch on the control freak subject - I believe I've stated before that I am self diagnosed OCD. 'nuff said.

Yesterday, we went to the Lincoln Museum in Ft. Wayne, Indiana (about 2 hours away). Jacob did a unit study on Lincoln this semester so I thought it would be a good reinforcer. Plus, we have some friends that live about 45 minutes north of Ft. Wayne, so they met us there and we finished off with a picnic at a nearby park. It was a lot of fun and a great museum. Unfortunately, the museum is closing for good in June (not sure why?). I hate to see good, quality things like that, taken out But when I found that out, we hurried and planned a trip there.

Believe it or not, I still have some color from Mexico - but as far as self tanners are concerned, I like the Jeregan's Natural EXPRESS. (the lighter shade - medium I think?) It smells nice and you get the color a lot faster than the regular jeregans. I was using that right before Kurt's grandma's funeral to kinda of "freshen up" my MX tan - believe it or not, I had 3 or 4 people tell me that my skin was just glowing LOL

Well, Jacob has baseball practice at 10 and a soccer game at 12:30 today so trying to get some laundry and housework done this morning.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Good Sunday morning. Just a quick hi before I jump in the shower.

I'm feeling sooooooo much better since I got my staples out yesterday. They were hurting and although I wasn't supposed to get them out until tomorrow, I went up to our HMO clinic yesterday morning to have it done and feel like a new woman!

I came home and cooked for about an hour, went to the boys Babe Ruth game and still felt good. I'm on the mend.

Need to get ready for church.....talk to you all tomorrow.

Ok I did not work out today. I woke up with a bit of a head cold and my monthly friend. Kinda lost all gumption for any sort of physical activity I am taking my son to the new park they opened this weekend. It is only a mile away...goodie! I feel lazy. Hope I get some motivation today. BTW, I had to make the bark yesterday and ate the whole thing..... What can I say, I had no will power yesterday...hahaha! Chocolate!

Stacey!!! You are so tiny and cute!!! What a great pic for your av

I, on the other hand, can't seem to stay on plan for more than a week. I blew it again this weekend and here I am again, back on the wagon. It's such a vicious cycle. I'm probably doing more harm than good at this point. I don't know what to do anymore LOL I just don't have the time to get things the way they should be.

Trying again today - not EVEN getting on the scale.

B - 2 c. coffee w/splenda/half/half
- chili w/cheese

L - chili w/sr. cream & cheese (that's the end of it)

D - Grilled Pork Chops
- salad
- Green beans

At least the chili is keeping me full today. Heading to the groc store and running my umpteen errands. See you all later!

Toni~ Great job staying away from the scale...it is evil! Anyway, Thanks a bunch for the compliment. I had date night with the hubby and we took a couple pics before hand.
I am so happy with this WOE and the way it makes me feel all the time. I know that I didn't think I could do it at all. The first two weeks were the hardest for me. I was so out of wack. I think my one saving grace with this plan is how sick I was prior to starting. I coudn't keep my sugar up...ever. I had terrible headaches constantly and I would shake a lot. Now with this low carb thing; I haven't had to deal with those cruddy things anymore. So basically what I am saying, is don't give up. Just keep at it! We are here for you whenever you need the support!

Another day ladies!

B - 2 c. coffee w/splenda/half/half
- 2 scrambled eggs in butter w/half/half and cheese

L - Chicken romaine salad (not sure what on it - gonna load it up!)
- cheese "crackers"

D - grilled pork chops (much nicer to grill today)
- green beans
- iceberg salad
- something else for the boys

Thanks for the encouragement Stacey - I need it! LOL

I'm so lucky to be even fitting into my clothes right now - I REALLY have to drop this weight or I'm going to be in trouble. Going to make time for some exercise today - maybe I'll get a slight jog in during baseball practice.

Enjoy the day ladies!!

I have been wondering about Lisa too?? Hope all is well!

Stacey - I didn't get any exercise in today but ate on plan...though was starving by evening. I wanted to be able to exercise, but I just have had NO energy lately...enough to make me nap in the afternoons. I hope something else isn't going on - I hate this tired feeling. I'm going to have to figure it out very soon.

'night all!

Day 3

Good Morning all!! Hope you have a great LC day today!

B - 2 c. coffee w/splenda/half/half
- 2 scrambled eggs in butter w/half/half, melted cheese and vidalia onions!! (I'm so happy they are back in season!!!)

L - Chicken salad (chicken, mayo, pickle, onion)
- cheese "crackers"
- Maybe a little salad

D - Looks like we might be doing a little cookout at the park for Jacob's baseball team. Their first game is Saturday so we thought a little team bonding might be fun.
- Hot dogs
They'll have chips and pop and stuff so I'll probably need to eat before we go. Romaine wraps or something.

I've been up for an hour and a half now and I'm already feeling that sleepy, tired feeling. I might know the culprit - I change vitamins a little while back (because they were on sale). I think I need to go back to the original ones I was taking. Maybe that will help

Enjoy the day everyone

I'm tired also Toni. It's not fun to wake up as tired as when I went to bed. I know I'll get better, and it's only been two weeks since the surgery, but recovering is no fun. I just want my normal life back. Have a fun barbecue tonight.

Stacey~have a great day.

Well I splurged a little last night. I went out to dinner with the hubby and a couple friends of ours to Chili's. They screwed my order up 3 times, and the third time I kept the wrong burger cause I was so hungrey. It had BBQ sauce on it, but I scraped as much off as I could. My hubby gout one of those bread onion flower things. I had a couple of pieces. I hadn't had one of those in years. It was pretty good.

Toni~great job staying on your eating plan. I have a BBQ on Saturday and have to bring a side dish. Any ideas?

Sue~ I am glad you are doing better, and that tiredness after surgery is a bummer.

Lisa~missing you too!

Ok I have to ask a question. I have a problem. This might be TMI, but I can't get into the doc for 4 weeks. I had cramping and cravings like normal on Sunday and Monday. I always get my period on tuesday(I am on bith control), but I did not get my period. I never missed a pill , the only difference this month is I upped the strength training. Has any heard of exercize and messing with ones cycle? I have no clue. I am religious about my pill. I set my alarm to take it at the same time everyday. Is this weird?

Sorry I don't know who to ask about it. Hope you gals can help.

Coleslaw is easy and legal - deviled eggs - Broccoli salad is ALWAYS good and everyone tends to like it. I have another recipe for a Reuben Dip - it's really good and you are supposed to dip party ryes into it - though I like to just eat it with a fork How 'bout jalapeno poppers? LOL I've been staying on plan all day - now if I can just make it through the evening now

YES! Exercise and weight loss both can affect your cycle. I've heard of avid exercisers almost losing their periods totally! On the other end, a gf of mine hardly ever had a cycle when she was REALLY overweight...she lost 60-70 lbs on low carb and is now much more regular? Definitely ask the dr. about it - especially since you are very good about taking the pills

Stacey~I think exercise can mess with TOM, but it has to be pretty strenuous. It could be a combo of LCing and exercising? I'd go to the Main Lobby and ask that question as I'm sure you'll get some good answers.

As for a side dish, I agree that broccoli salad is always a great choice. Or a beautiful layered salad.

Toni~Good job so far.

Lisa~missing you.

Cooks.com - Recipe - Layered Overnight Salad

Seven Layer Salad Recipe - 7-Layer Salad Recipe or 24 Hour Salad

Here are a couple recipes. If you don't want the peas in it, you could sub that with another veggie that you like. I used to love this growing up; one of my favorite salads. I think most recommend that you refrigerate overnight.
