Good Morning!

Looks like we were all pretty busy this weekend. It was so nice here - too nice to stay inside. Supposed to be about the same today and then some rain - DAH! DH is off to Memphis, TN this morning for business - supposed to either be back late tomorrow night or Wed. morning. My mom wants to have Jacob for the day tomorrow so I'll have a WHOLE day to myself! I'm not sure what to do with that LOL

Food plan today:

B - 2 c. coffee w/half/half/splenda
- scrambled eggs with cheese

L - chicken salad (the old standby)
- cheese "crackers"

D - Taco salad
- green beans

I've been getting back into the peanut butter routine so I'm going to try hard to knock some of the "extras" out. It's very hard to break those habits when you've been doing them for so long!

I've been getting some good walks in - but not showing much on the scale. We'll see what this week brings We have sports every night this week except friday...I think?

Hope you all are doing ok!!

Good morning

Weekend wasnt great. Saturday night I had another gall bladder "attacK". My side was really hurting again I took the meds doc gave me and eventually got some relief. Also I hurt my lower back somehow and now I cant exercise On a positive note, I finished reinduction yesterday and Im still hovering at 143.

Toni~ Wow a whole day to yourself-thatll be GREAT!!! I am not adding nuts back in for awhile. I always have portion control issues with them I am having jello w/whipped cream and jello fluff for snacks.

Sue~ I havent measured again but I can definitely see and feel differences in my body. I think its a combo of the Callanetics and the weights. I hope my back heals quickly cuz I enjoy it and dont want to be away from it for long

Im going to lay down on the heating pad for a bit. Ill check in later...

Thanks for the invite over to this thread, lisa. I really enjoyed callanetics! Now should i be doing this everyday or every other? I wasn't sure. I thought I would still do my tae boe or turbo jam. Let me know what you think I should do.
I Had the most odd but good breakfast this morning. Had to tell. It was flaxseed hot cereal. Surpriseingly enough it tasted just like cream of wheat. Never new you could have so much when you low carb it. Gotta love it!

Stacey! Glad you decided to join us I prefer to do the Callanetics every other day and do some cardio/weights on the other days. I also may take a rest day depending on my mood. They say you only have to do it twice per week to see results but I am impatient I say do what feels right for you.

Toni~ I hope you were able to get something accomplished at practice tonight.
Sue~ Hope your day was great Are you lowcarb or lowfat now?

Hey!!!! Welcome Stacey! I'm anxious to see how the callanetics work for the two of you! Keep us posted with your progress.

I feel like i'm back in my vicious cycle - good week, bad week, good week, bad week - no WONDER I can never get to where I need to be *geesh* I really carbed out yesterday but trying to start again today. Since I started "back" on LC...do you believe it's been almost NINE months and I've barely had any success?!? If I'm not careful, it's going to be ANOTHER year of good carb/bad carb and no weight loss. Though, the sad thing is that I was on STRICT from Oct. to Jan. with no lbs. lost. Sometimes I wonder if LC can just "stop" working? Oh well - at least it makes me feel better

Hope you all are well today!!!

Good AM

My back is still bothering me-UGH! I put on some biofreeze to see if I can get some relief without having to lay/sit on the heating pad. At least I got caught up on my reading yesterday.

Toni~ I dont know if LC stops working-I wouldnt think so, but maybe our bodies get used to the same thing and need a chgange to get things going again. I notice when I get to the low #s of each decade I have to do something different to push to the next one. Changing the hours I eat, different exercise, different foods-worth a try. I am now at my next (hopefully last) wall to get into 130s. I am not sure what I will do this time to change things up I hope you at least had some of your favorite high carb foods when ya slipped up I am missing devils food chocolate donuts and chinese food Ill never find decent LC substitutes that even come close to the high carb ones!

Sue & Stacey!!

Good morning ladies.

I have another doc visit today. Hope he has a plan for what to do next.

Toni~Oh my, how I can relate. I've just been mad a myself for fooling around with this for so long. I'm in challenges with people that have lost 80 pounds while I've been losing and gaining the same dumb 5-10 pounds and not making any progress. But, at least we're here still trying.

Lisa~Sorry you've had another gall bladder attack. And now your back. Relax and get well friend.

Stacey~welcome to our little challenge. It's nice to have you here.

Lisa, those cream cheese clouds look fabulous! I'll definitly have to try them. I think I will do every other day too. So that I can get in my cardio.

Sue and Toni thanks for the warm welcome! It is nice to have other women to talk to when I have questions or a tough day. Thanks!

Sue I hope that all goes well for you!
Toni my Mother is having a lot of the same problems as you seem to have. Her Dr. told her to not eat anything after seven o'clock and it seems to be working for her...even if she has a few more carbs than allowed. Anyway just an idea. Hope you all have a great day!

I did Turbo jam today--total body sculpt---My 3 year old tried it too...hysterical!

My 3yo Emmalee exercises with me too-so cute

Toni~ What is it that makes you go off plan? Do you make a decision like a conversation in your head first-"should I, shouldnt I" or do cravings for high carb foods get so bad you just eat kinda unconsciously? If you eat one thing off plan do you feel like youve blown it and just keep going instead of getting right back with the next bite? Just thought maybe we can figure out what triggers you and can come up with strategies to help. How are you doing today?

Lisa~I've been wanting to make those cream cheese clouds, but right now I can't handle the fat. They sure look good, though. I just printed out the recipe for later.

Stacey~my DD used to try and do aerobics with me when she was little and it was funny to watch her.

DON'T POST THE RECIPE.

Doc thinks I have IBS. Need to do a little research. He gave a prescription for some meds and wants to see me in a month. If I'm still not better, he'll send me to a Gastroenterologist.

Lisa, I read something interesting when I was doing some researching on IBS. One person said that the digestive tract takes a turn around where the gall bladder is, and when it cramps there it can mimic ball bladder pain.

I've got the same problems with sweets. If I make, I will eat.

Thanks for sharing that info Sue! I am thinking my pain is stomach related as well. The doc gave me a RX for Aciphex and when I get that pain in my side and take meds, it DOES help. It baffles me cuz I diont really have any other symptoms Did they discuss your WOE at all/suggest foods to avoid? Anyhoo, hope the meds bring you relief

The doc said that foods high in fat aggravate it, as well as some veggies like cabbage and onions. I did some research last night and found that a lot of the foods I like are not good for this such as diary (many people with IBS are also lactose intolerant) caffeine and chocolate and sodas. I could live off those things alone. He suggested meats like turkey breasts, chicken breasts and lean fish. Boring. Well, eating this way has to be better than the daily pain I've been in.

ETA: We were posting at the same time Lisa. At least they're gone now.

OMgosh! All the no-no foods are my main diet I dont know if I can make such a drastic change. I mentioned changing things up to Toni and I have actually been considering switching back to the lowfat/WW kind of WOE but I just think Im gonna get into trouble. I have been doing this for so long and with success I dont wanna have to mess with it. I know if you are that uncomfortable it must be done, but how are you honestly feeling about making these changes in your diet, Sue?

I'm not comfortable with it, to be honest. The only time I've been successful on a low fat diet was back in 1999 when I lost 55 pounds in 6 months on a diet called Prism. It was 1200 cals a day max, and no more than 30% fat, but I tried for 10-20% fat so I could eat more food. But, I have to tell you that I was miserable on this diet. I felt good and looked good, but I started gaining right away. I got down to probably 150 and wanted to lose another 10, but just couldn't stick with it anymore. I was also so grouchy because I was so hungry.

On low carb I've ever gotten down that low, but I am much more satisfied with my food and don't have that constant, gnawing hunger that accompanies the low-fat, low calorie diet. I would be happy with being 150, if I could just get there.

So, I had a light bulb moment this morning. The two days I went back to Induction last week and was so sick, I had a cabbage, onion and ham dish both days. And, a lot of it, to be honest. So, now I'm wondering if I can do lower carb, but there will be some foods that I will have to avoid. Just a thought that I'm working with.

I think that is probably the best solution. I guess it will take some experimenting to figure which foods are a trigger. Are you journaling /keeping a food diary? I am still using fitday so I will try to pay closer attention to foods eaten in relation to pains. The other night when I had an attack I had a steakumm salad & there were alot of fried onions in it. There are times when it was so bad It felt like I was having a heart attack DH is on my back to return to the doctor so I will probably go and insist on the dye test to be sure it's not GB. It does help to know that Im not alone or CRAZY

Lisa~I've had that bad "heart attack" feeling, and traced it back to cabbage and onions. It might be the cause. I onions and cabbage, but they are one of the culprits, I'm willing to give them up.

You should go back, just to make sure it's not the gall bladder.

I agree that there are some foods out there that I can look at and gain 3 pounds. I had to completely give up soda, that was my major down fall. Some people have there coffee and I would drink a 24 oz Mountaindew. Man the withdrawls, craziness.
I walked four miles yesterday to the library with my son. It was finally nice, but today it is snowing...I can't figure the weather out here

I forgot to update my signature, but I did one more hour of callanetics so that will bring me up to two!! I did much better today. Hope you all have a great one!

4 miles is great, Stacey! And Im glad that hour 2 was better for ya I just finished hour 9 of Callanetics. I took it easy and was very careful not to stretch too much and protect my lower back. I feel really relaxed now I gave up diet soda recently. I still have one every once in awhile if Im out somewhere and they dont have unsweetened tea. Only water and unsweetened decaf tea for this girl
