Hey everyone! Things are looking a bit better today I was just sick over towing/storage fees ($150 to go less than 1 mile away and $25 per day to keep it there) If only we'd known sooner, but that's life sometimes. I cooked some chicken breasts yesterday, so I'm gonna make divan fior supper. Weather is one thing I can't complain about-it's been lovely here!!

Toni~ Dealing with death/funerals on a pretty regular basis must be tough Enjoy your bike ride
Stacey~ Did you find out where you are moving yet?
Sue~ Are you still taking meds for your tummy even after the appendix issue? Are you having luck figuring out specific foods to avoid? I notice I have much less pain when i eat higher carbs-it stinks cuz it's as if I have to choose between losing and being comfortable

ETA~ Sue we were posting at the same time. So sorry to hear y'all are sick. 104 IS high for an adult. Get well soon friend

I hope everyones day is going well. I hope you don't get too sick Sue that is a bummer.

Ok ladies need help on this one. Does anyone know a good way to get a three year old to stop sucking their thumb? I was told at the dentist yesterday that I need to make Jace give up the thumb. I made a sticker chart for him this morning. He gets a stickerfor everyday of no thumb sucking ( I split it into day/night). After 5 stickers he gets a reward. Now day time is much easier to deal with. Nighttime on the other hand sucks. How do I go about bedtime? If you all can offer any advice I'd appreicate it. Thanks!

Lisa~So far Aija and I have been working out pretty good. She is doing great going to the gym.

Hey, Stace! I only had one thumb sucker out of four kids. Britt even was sucking her thumb in sonogram picture I can't offer advice cuz we let her do it, and counted on her giving it up when she was ready. She's almost 17 now and didnt seem to suffer any ill effects. If memory serves, she stopped doing it before she went to pre-k at age 4. Also had a blankie that she gave up before entering school. Good luck!

Thanks,Lisa! Jace sucked his in the womb too. Every sonogram was a pic of him with his thumb in his mouth. I thought he would stop on his own too,but the hubby is really pushing it. I don't really mind him doing it at all. It is mainly just at nap time and bedtime. Not a big deal to me, I think the dentist freaked out a little too much...she seems kinda like a control freak. Not the nicest one either. Know what I mean?! Oh well. we will work on it, but I am not gonna freak him out either.

That care thing sucks! I had that happen before. It ended up being while we were on vacation and I think I paid out almost a thousand dollars. They were in the wrong though and it took a few months and many nasty phone calls, but I ended up getting most of my money back.

I guess Jacob was on the far other end of the sucking issue - when he was born, he didn't have that instinct. Could never even nurse him - so while in the hospital, he was drinking milk out of little tiny cups! He never wanted a pacifier, never sucked his thumb and gave up the bottle by 9 months old. I'm really glad we didn't have to deal with that (especially since the potty training was a nightmare). Your son is only 3 - but the dentist is probably worried for the future. To be honest, I've had friends that have kids that were 5-6 + years old, still sucking their fingers with their teeth sticking straight out on the top. Maybe she was wanting to cut it off before that happens. I don't know?

It's only 8:30, but I think i'm going to go to bed. One day energy, the other day tired. grrr. I think I over ate on the roast tonight - then again, whenever I have that "full" feeling, for some reason I feel guilty. I guess it's old associations.

See you all in the am.

Stacey - nice job on getting your exercise done first thing! You are really dedicated to that - getting good results? yeah - the flax muffins are a good "treat" now and then. I love that they always keep me so full!

B - 2 c. coffee w/half/half/splenda
- 2 scrambled eggs in butter w/half/half/onions (choked these down this morning - I need a break from eggs)
- 1 slice fried bologna with swiss cheese

L - Leftover roast w/ melted cheese (i think)
- salad
- celery w/PB

D - Grilled chicken breast (w/some sort of marinade)
- baby peas (small amount)
- salad

Enjoy your LC day all!!!

Yep they are definitly a treat. I couldn't eat them everyday. I think they would hinder my weight. I still love my eggs in the morning. I have been eating them for years...that is one thing that will never get old for me Hope I don't have another starving day today. So far so good though.

Good morning

EWW, I do NOT like those OMM-I tried them more than once and even subbed the almond flour for flax-just couldnt get over the texture

I got exercise done first thing this AM Im making fish for lunch and having leftover chicken divan for supper. I have been snacking on SF chocolate chips, but I'm not beating myself up since it's TOM and I could be eating something much worse LOL

I gotta return library books later and finish making Mother's Day cards. I'll check back later...

Yes Ive tried the oopsies and they are good but I have a hard time getting them right. I havent had them in a while though-maybe Ill try making some this week-gotta get to the grocery and stock back up on legal foods. It is so much harder to LC when choices are limited, KWIM? Also DH LOVES my Atkins shakes. I bought some at Walmart last week and I only got ONE He's got oreos, mint cc ice cream etc. but has to drink my shakes too-UGH-MEN! LOL

On a totally non LC subject-just curious as Toni pointed out we're all in different areas of the country-What are y'all paying for regular gas right now? I just paid $3.65

Well in good ole colorado it is at 3.59 a gallon for mid grade. The cheap 85 is 3.42, but I won't use that in my new car. It is my new baby

Lisa, I had the same problem with the rolls last night. I think I was adding in the yolks too quick. Hope I get it right tonight. I have some pork chops.....what should I do with them? Any ideas?

Hmmm pork chops-I usually baste with sf BBQ sauce and GRILL-Yummy!!

Received this from a member of my CTMH team-thought I'd share

"Attitude" by Charles Swindell

The longer I love, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than the past, than education, than
money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what
people say and do.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It makes or
breaks an organization....a school....a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude
we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the past. We cannot
change the fact that people will act a certain way. We cannot change
the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we
have and that is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react
to it. And so it is with you.

We're paying between 3.76-3.78 today.

Lisa~Our attitude is so important, isn't it. I need to keep that in mind. I haven't had a good one today; sick of this stomach problem, but need to get on top of it. And, I need to have the right attitude about eating.

Lisa~I totally agree. I think I am in a good mood most of the time, but there are those rare days when life can bite you on the butt. Remember to always look a the bright side. That is what I try to do. I have become very flexible now, the military taught me that. Every time you think you are doing one thing they come back at you with something else instead I just smile...seems to work for me!
BTW, still ahven't heard about Australia....I am waiting and hoping

Sue~I hope you can get your stomach problems all fixed and going right really soon. That is annoying to have to deal with.

'night ladies!

Lisa - what sort of book are you reading? I'm a rather avid reader myself - though I haven't had much time or energy to get through one in a while. Normally summertime brings much more time for reading (no home school) Our library has an adult summer (and winter) reading program where you have to read 8 books in 2 months, or something like that - it was sort of fun last year.

Stacey - wondering what you did with the chops too We had chops on the grill last week with just a bit of seasoning. Would like to do something new - new flavors.

Sue - I'm sure you ARE tired of these stomach issues - I hope it comes to an end soon! Have they pinpointed what the cause is for sure?

Today was really rough with the funeral this morning - probably around 300 people - amazing tribute to this man's life. The rest of the day I've been trying to clean floors and things - much needed housekeeping really. Hope everyone else had a good one

Kind of anxious to get on the scale this week. I've really stayed on plan so I hope it shows - otherwise it's going to be very frustrating. Though, it's nice that the cravings are dwindling. I'm still having a hard time with snacking - for some reason, I'm wanting to snack even if I'm not really hungry. Habit maybe?

I did a vinegar based bbq sauce. I should say I am doing, because we ended up not cooking last night. Jace at his lunch at 430 and so did Jesse. I was the only one hungrey so I threw a taco salad together. Can't wait to try those chops tonight though. Oh I am making veggie hush puppies with them. I got the recipe on this site. They sound yummy.

Toni~I have that snacking habit thing too. I am not hungrey and I just want to munch something. It is usually in the afternoon, so I pop a piece of gum. Seems to work for me and Stride gum only has one carb per piece.

Lisa~I got the new Nora Roberts book yesterday. It is part of the signs trilogy book 2, The Hollow. It is good! I just love her.
