Happy Monday!

I would love to join in, if you don't mind. I am starting M/E today, and would love to follow along to learn as much as possible.

My goal is to lose 25 pounds by June 20.

Peace

Hello!

Well TOM was the culprit and he's here in full force today I plan on weighing Friday when TOM is totally gone. Kind of went off plan this weekend, probably from TOM cravings! I did walk for about 50 minutes on Saturday though. For some reason I was craving peanut butter and jelly so I made a PB & J sandwich on raisin bread

Gilly: I watched the show last night and again it was really good. I've found that I eat way less that I used to. He says to eat "consciously" so I chew my food longer and savor the taste. Also I put my fork down in between each bite and also take a sip of water to wash the food down. You'd be surprised how full you feel with much less food. Last night he was talking about metabolism. He said that "thin" people move more and walk approximately 6000 steps per day while overweight people average about 4000 steps per day. So for those of us who need to lose that's only about a ten minute walk a day. He also does exercises to help with cravings and to motivate you to exercise. I find it works very well and it fascinates me how easy it is to not OBSESS over food!

Angie: I really think you need to overhaul your eating. You are exercising alot and I think you need more calories. Make them good useful calories but definitely more. Your scale should start moving down again!

Sorry I can't "talk" personally to everyone today but everyone hang in there, we can do this!

Good Morning Ladies:

It's cold (rain/light snow) here in Denver this morning, but I'm pretty sure I'm not exercising today, so I'll just enjoy it..
I lost a whole pound this morning, we went bicycle riding yesterday for 2 and a half hours! I thought I would be sore as hell, but am very surprised that I feel nothing at all...guess all the walking/running exercise is paying off...
Gracie: I'm so sure I need to up my calories, it's just that I keep fearing I won't lose with too many...but yes, I've definitely noticed that when I eat more fats, I lose a lot the next morning.. you guys will be surprised but this was my menu yesterday, and yes, I managed to lose a pound..
morning: 3 ounces of cheese, 4 pieces of SF chick-o-sticks and coffee...
lunch: (around 3pm, after bike riding) a bunless TRIPLE Whopper with cheese and a diet coke...
dinner/snack: Coffee and pork rinds....
I stopped eating at around 6pm until this morning...
So, it's pretty similar to what I ate last weekend when I lost 2.3 pounds...I know this is not a menu everyone should use as an example, but I believe I can eat it because of all the exercise, and if I don't get that many calories in, my body will go on starvation mode...

Gilly: Glad to see you back! My mom keeps telling me to watch that program! (and on the other hand keeps telling me to stop losing weight LOL)
Livy:

Judy: You always get back on track, so I know you shouldn't worry...let us all know how it goes today...

Everyone I'm missing, sorry, Lets keep up the good work!

Have a great day!

Was on plan yesterday and was DOWN 0.2 of a pound this morning. That's not much, but it's in the right direction. Will be on plan again today and hoping for more DOWN.

Today's menu:
Lunch: Mounds Bar protein shake;
Snack: Hot Chocolate
Dinner: Ribeye steak and a small lettuce/radish/celery salad w/Italian Dressing and Roasted Garlic.

KUTGW you losers....

for those struggling....

to all the newbies.....

Changed my dinner from the steak & salad to broasted chicken.

Otherwise my menu for the day is as posted.

Now...here's some interesting info:

Wine or Water? (To my family & friends who enjoy a glass of wine and those who don't).

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop. However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine and beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey, vodka, or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health. Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
than to drink water and be full of S_ _ t.

(There is no need to thank me for this valuable information...I'm posting it as a public service).

Tomorrow I am heading into the states for a mini trip/vacation with no kids and I still hope to eat on plan with minimal to no cheat, as most of our meals will be restaurant foods. Not so sure I will want to weigh in when i get back though lol ....... at least the hotel has a swimming pool I can use to get some exercise

Hope everyone has a good next few days

CONFESSION: I had a serious cheat day on Sunday for my son's birthday and then yesterday I just needed to eat anything and everything sweet . So I am up a 1.5 pound to 133.8 but it is my own fault. Today I am back to work (which is why I struggled yesterday) back to plan and back to exercising.

Angie ~ you are such an inspiration, even when you don't think so. Your posts are so great! I look back on my cheats and I am kicking myself. You are right the cheats aren't worth it and I would be at my goal weight too if I had been strong I have been known to put away a bunless double whopper myself

Gracie ~ I will have to DVR those programs to see what he has to say. I am always trying to learn new tips and tricks to stay on track and then maintain some day. I exercise right after work before I eat dinner and I find that I eat less, maybe I just don't want to ruin all that I just accomplished

Livy ~

Paris ~ Congrats on the weight loss

Gilly ~ Keep posting, it will help! I think Wenig told me that once, good advise to keep you motivated and on track

Congrats to all the losers and we would love to hear from all you lurkers

Happy Hump Day Losers and Lurkers

I am down a couple ounces to 133.6 not great but I ate a little more than normal yesterday, I have been stressed I did drink about three liters of water and stuck to plan and even got an hour of exercise in so last night just wasn't a big losing night, maybe tonight the whoosh fairy will visit and make it all better.

Lynn ~ Good to hear from you!

Livy ~ I have been on M/E since back in the spring of 2007. However, I haven't always been strict I have lost about 20 lbs, which I wish I could say it was more, but I haven't been committed like I should be. I know that this will work it is just up to me.

Have a great day everyone!

Blahhh! I'm up to 154 after an hour of working out last night. I'm not too discouraged though cause I can see the difference in my body since starting this woe... and my mommy told me I look great last night when I had a snug shirt on. Usually she just tells me I should go walking more, so that made me feel better!

I'm gonna try this Egg Creme thing for awhile! 10 days. I'll be sure to post here everyday w/progress.

Hope everyone's doing well. I'll prob drop in here later in the day.

Hi Gilly - That's great that your mom complimented you on how you look - I'm more concerned with my size/shape than the number on the scale.

Someone else mentioned the 'egg cream' and a thread about it. I am not able to find it anywhere Could you possibly link it in a reply or point me to where it is???

Thanks

I was DOWN another 0.6 of a pound this morning.

I like it so much better when it's over a pound, but it WAS down so I'll take it.

Having an on-plan day today. Saturday will be off plan for dinner. Going to a
benefit dinner for a lady who has cancer. And, of course, it's spaghetti. Will
have a shake before I go and then just a "little" spaghetti....but, knowing this
old bod of mine, even a little will result in an upswing. But it's for a good
cause and will be temporary.

It's going to be nice today....62*....but then COLD for the next few days.
I'm so tired of cold.

Lynn...Keep coming back. You know how important it is to working
your plan, my friend.

Gotta run...see ya all later. KUTGW...Work your plan and your plan will work.

Good Moring all you lurkers and losers! I am down 2.6 pounds today, yippee! I am almost into the 120's. The exercise is paying off because I can finally wear these pants that used to make me have a "muffin top" I ordered the P90x program and I am waiting for it to show up, so I have just been faithfully doing lots of cardio and an extra ab routine...sorry just getting off track... Yesterday I had my coffee with splenda, drank most of my water, ate a steak and two eggs for dinner and did an hour of exercise.

Gilly ~ I read the egg creme thread and think all the shakes sound yum, especially for the summer. Maybe if I hit a stall I will try it out. It still would fit into my plan and I might even try it for Breakfast and Lunch too.

Zer ~ Thanks for the link!

Paris ~ Congrats on the loss, hopefully the thermometer will keep going up and the scale will keep going down

Dialee ~ I am also more concerned about how I look, especially in those "show all the curves" low rise pants and shorts. I searched on the internet for "muffin-top" reducing exercises...doesn't my body know I don't do carbs no matter if it is on the outside or inside...

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Well, the thermometer went down and the scale went UP. I was UP 0.2 of a pound this morning. I know it's a natural bounce, but I like bouncing DOWN so much better.

It's rainy and really cold right now...It's 41* but with the wind and rain it feels more like 21*. YUCK!! Supposed to stay yucky until Sunday and then it will be nice again....at least for awhile.
We might even see some snow flurries tomorrow.

2/10 pound? About 3oz, like a can of sardines!

Human bodies ebb and flow. I suspect 3oz is average for respiration and life. Just keep doing the right thing, stick with your program. You'll see a drop!
