Checking in and doing well. I have stayed on plan all week, but for some reason yesterday I had real strong craving. I guess some days are just harder than others. Some thing has my tummy all messed up too. I don't know what it could be, I tried throwing out my sandwich meat, maybe that was it.

not quite so big d - Not sure what style fence you have, but a few years ago I had the 4x4 fence posts stap during a hurricane. I was able to just replace the posts since the fence sections were still in one piece. I think if it ever happens again I may replace every thing with those vinyl fence kits, assuming the price is reasonable.

Big D glad everyone is ok, thats the important thing, it is amazing what the kids can sleep through, i could be right outside their room with a reciprocating saw, they are still aslepp while their bed is bouncing around in their room, i hear the dog fart or the furnace jingle and im up for the rest of the nite

went to the local running store got some shoes that go with my orthotic inserts, ran with them yesterday, they are sweet, too much $$ but i like em

last nite shift was last nite, no more of them for about 3 weeks or so,

on tap for today is power 90 sweat - cardio, i just hope i get through the day awake

check in later

Hello Campers,

Wall good to here your almost there.

I got things moving in the right direction finally. I'm doing induction 20 carbs or less not net carbs. I find it funny that I'm eating a lot more and still losing. I'm hoping to shed a couple or dare I say a few more after visit to the library I hope today.

Going to do a few miles of walking today. I need to conserve some energy for tomorrows workout challenge 500. For all those wanting to know what the 500 challende consists of heres the run down:

BODYWEIGHT 500
- 50 Prisoner Squats
- 50 Pushups
- 25 Jumps
- 25 Stability Ball Leg Curls
- 50 Stability Ball Jackknifes
- 50 Step-Ups
- 25 Pullups
- 50 Forward Lunges
- 50 Close-Grip Pushups
- 50 Inverted Rows
- 50 Squats
- 25 Chinups

Do it in 45 min or less. This one is going to be tough.

On another note DW is hinting that she wants to go out and have a few cocktails this evening with some friends. I don't know, I don't want to blow all the progress of the week. Pretty sad when I'm actually thinking of declining and going to work as and excuse so I won't blow it.

Ed out for now.

Mid April? How did that happen?

Thanks for the mid month reminder. I am only down two pounds, but I sure feel a lot less bloated. Well on the water wagon!

I met with my Kayak buddies last night. We are planning a two week trip in Northern BC, or the panhandle. I need to drop 50 pounds in order to go, and the trip is in July. I have done it that fast before, but I am not sure it is the best way to lose weight.

Morning Campers,

Well I didn't make it to work last night and sucked down to many Mic Ultras. Good news is I went to bed and skipped out on my normal lunch at 3 am. Now I'm trying to Sikh myself up to do the bodyweight 500. then it will be off to the store to resupply, cupboards are getting a little bare.

Jim what plan are you going to be following?

Have a great day everyone Ed out

Atkins

Hi Ed,

I am on Atkins for now. I seem to need to stay at induction levels, as much more than 20 carbs knocks me out of ketosis.

I followed a different plan last time through a clinic. It was low carb, but also low fat. Every item of food was measured, and there was not a lot of it, but enough. I have never lost weight faster.

Pork was out, egg whites only, soya cream for the one cup of coffee allowed. Lots of chicken, turkey and veal. Even salmon was considered too high in fat, but being a west coast boy, I ate some anyway. Also they did the twice weekly vitamin B injections and gave us potassium. I don't know if the B shots make any difference. That clinic is too far form where I live, and too expensive, but I did learn a thing or two.

Off camping in the snow for the weekend with a bunch of 8-12 year olds.
Have to bring my own food, as pasta is on the menu.

Enjoy the weekend.

Hey guys,

Things are going real well here. I could do with a little more of a spring time feel to the weather, but all things in their own time I guess.

This time around what I'm looking for is a lack of excitement. I really okay with a slow steady loss. One a two a week is the goal. I'm tired of the five up five down routine. Right now sustainability is my focus.

Cheers

Looks like awesome progress guys!

Went AWOL too long. Got off track, had a heck of a time getting back on. Old habits creep back in quick. Haven't checked my weight, but the way my clothes are fitting, I have regained about 10 lbs.

Will post numbers soon. Keep up your awesome progress. It is motivating!

Yo,

After finishing a 4 book series: Amazon.com: Emigrants: The Emigrant Novels Book 1 (The...Amazon.com: Emigrants: The Emigrant Novels Book 1 (The...
...this weekend at my library I picked up 2002 version of the Atkins book. Started reading that. Gonna try and catch up with the lingo and understand the science more. I'd say close to 30 lbs lost since November has convinced me. Ha!

Yep, 30 lbs lost since mid November.

On Fri I weighed 245. Today 247. From last week its still over a 1lb gone.
4/7/2008 248.4
4/14/2008 247.0

The April challenge has me at 7.2. 2.8 to go.

I realize some of you dudes are gonna have a tougher time doing an extra 10 when youre hovering around goal. Its ok, I dont want to see you in a speedo anyways.

Harley Checking in.

Monday Weigh in.
Highest weight ever: 302
1-1-08 279.5
4-14-08 247
Weight Loss this week: 5
Weight Loss in 2008: 32.5
Goal: 210
Mini Goal: 242 by 4/30/08

5 lbs this week is pretty good for me, but I am thinking it may be some water weight as I didn't get my H2O in at my parents house. I was able to eat pretty clean except for a Taco Salad my mother made. I ate some not realizing that she had put 1/3 cup of sugar in it....I asked for the recipe and saw it. I think I will make it sometime without the sugar.

I'm off to Chicago for the week....I will check in from there.

Harley Out!

Finally back in the right direction. I had a pretty good week. I didn't do a lot of traditional exercise this weekend, but got in lost of physical work. I cleared off the debris formerly know as my fence and put up temporary fencing around the pool. It looks like it is going to take 3-4 weeks before anyone can start on putting in a new fence.

Harley, what on earth is sugar for in a taco salad? was there some sweet dressing on it or something?

Adam, am I reading that right? You can do 58 pushups, 65 situps and run 2 miles in under 15 minutes! Damn impressive for a man over 300 lbs.

I guess the sugar was for the thousand island dressing to make it taste sweet. It was really good, but it surprised me too when I read the recipe.

This week loss: -3
Total Loss: 59lbs
Average lbs lost per day: .69 (85 days/59lbs)

Not what I had hoped for but I'll definitely take it. Those 3lbs came off on tue/wed and since then the scale didn't budge. Hopefully I can post some steady loss this week.

Good news: summer is officially here. After snow here last week (almost a foot!) yesterday and today is so nice, we broke out the grill and have been making all kinds of stuff. Smoked salmon is so good.
