Something about eggs and coffee mixed together sounds really scary. I can't imagine it tasting good. I'll probably have to try since I love to takke chances.
I didnt do too well last night. I was frustrated and stuffed a piece if bread in my mouth. Dry bread at that. I could have least buttered it. It was pure emotional eating. I'm the sole bread winner. So bread was perfect. Stupid. Anyway, times are hard right now and I felt compulsive. I have'nt been like this in over a year till the last few months I guess. I feel afraid of food again and I know with this WOE I can eat more. Just have to stick with the right things. So, today I'll make sure I have plenty of legal stuff around till I get rid of the terrible cravings. I've been eating this Fage Total Greek Yogurt. It has 20 grams of fat and 6 carbs in 7 oz. Its really thick and I feel like I'm eating pudding. The jello thickens it more when I let it sit in the frig for about 10 minutes. I mix vanilla and some SF jello granuals. Its so good but I'm not crazy about putting the SF stuff in it. Maybe some stevia and something else. I get it at Trader Joes and Whole Foods. Ground flax is good in it too. Well, we'll see how today goes. I have to take this one minute at a time it seems. |

FYI re: Post to my Team 11:
Aloha Butterflies!!
![]() Today is the end of our 12-day Induction Challenge!! How did everyone do??OK, I cheated and weighed yesterday. Glad I did because yesterday I weighed 163. Today I weigh 166. Even tho my LCF stats say 163 ~ I started this Challenge at 166 ~ & apparently I’m still bouncing between the two. So I did NOT meet my Challenge Goal of 155. So I need to make some tweaks to my plan. Will do so by Monday. BUT I did notice on the scale that my Body Fat has gone from 30% to 25% so I must be doing something right ?? So that perfectly illustrates WHY we cannot always go by just our WEIGHT as our body comp is also CHANGING !! In a way, this is poetic justice because if you read back to Post #1 of this Thread, this was my point re: the scale. ![]() 1 – Please report your own progress/feedback on the Induction Challenge thread. 2 – After that, please switch to using this thread over the weekend: ~ Team 11 ~ Please Check-In 4 Upcoming MYResolution Challenge (Jun 2 to Dec 31) ~ 3 – On Sunday evening ~ I'll create 3 new threads for us all to begin using on Monday, June 2: a) Team 11 ~ Butterfly Stats ~ (for our stats/macros ONLY ~ there will be a simple "format" to follow) b) Team 11 ~ Butterfly Chats ~ (for us to chit-chat & get to know each other & share health info/tips) c) Team 11 ~ Butterfly Eats ~ (for us to post our daily/weekly menus & share recipes/food ideas) Team 11 ~ Boot Camp Butterflies: (AM I MISSING ANYONE ??) 08 to lose/ 0 lost/ 08 pounds to go! Hi y'all...
just getting home from our regular Friday night ritual at the Saratoga village pub...was craving carbs like crazy...ALMOST stopped at Taco Bell...the temptation was HUGE...but I kept trying to think of alternatives...remembered that I had Whole Foods salmon and halibut in the freezer as well as Applegate Farms frozen burger patties - that did it...so I'm grilling 2 patties right now while downloading Lost from iTunes...reminds me that I really need to have some prepared food on hand for these types of situations - like when I had taco salad in my fridge at all times - which I think I can start to eat again soon BTW...that's a huge lifesaver for me to just have that to heat up when I need it.. Mamabird - have you considered the Knox gelatin that's unflavored - I remember that from my childhood - then you can add the stevia or whatever to it...hope today was better for you... Kris - chocolate/cocoa and yogurt - if you have THAT recipe too - I'd love to see that - YUM ![]() Hummingbird - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope you have a great one!! Liz - thank you for the link; this is the best info I could find on kombucha - hope this helps... kombucha BTW - on the way to and from Yosemite we drove by Dublin - I always forget how beautiful it is over there - on the way back, the sky was lavender and it was the perfect contrast for the green rolling hills - it was breathtaking! Angel - hope you're doing well!! No exercise today. Food was 2 egg creams, 1 with coffee, 1 with Chai (didn't like this one) and now 2 hamburger patties with cheddar, unsweetened ketchup, and pickles...yum!! Night night!

I did well yesterday but am not losing yet. We went out and bought some atkins friendly food to last for a few days. I work at Whole Foods and we have samples all over the store. I'm keeping my fingers out of them. I look forward when we do cheese samples. How about the flax crackers? We have some with flax, sesame, and bell pepper. We just got them in and they have about 3 carbs per serving. They actually taste good!
Where can I find the chocolate greek yogurt recipe? Sounds really yummy. |

Hope everyone's having a great weekend...
Just a quick post... haven't been too hungry today...those Egg Creams are so filling. 1 Egg Cream, 3 TBL raw almond butter, a few celery sticks. Exercise has been 25 push-ups, 1/2 hour Tae-Bo, and getting ready to do Callanetics Evolution in a bit. Mamabird - would love to talk to you about working at WF - we have 2 opening here soon and I'd love to work there even just 10 hours/week - for fun - huge fan of WF! I lived in Austin for 4 years and it's nice to go there when I feel 'homesick'. How do you like it? Kris - thanks for the chocolate yogurt recipe! |

Skinhealth: My goal is to transfer to one of those two Whole Foods. We're going to move to Santa Cruz with in the year I hope. Its too busy here in San Jose and were wanting a slower pace...even a touch slower.
Kriss: Thanks for the recipe. I need to try this despretely! I'm staying the same weight and I think maybe too many calories. I'm going to get some of those keto sticks to see if I'm in Ketosis as well. Now where's the egg cream recipe? Sorry if I'm a pain. |

Happy June! We have 30 days left on our challenge. I am not sure if I will hit my beach ready goal. I have been way to inconsistent with my eating. Between the new job and the move I have been a ball of stress.
Mama, the Egg Cream recipes posted by Angela (skinhealth) and HB are on page 12 of this thread. Let me know how you like them. I have yet to try it. I am scared. Yes I am a wimp. ![]() Angel, where are you darling? We miss you! |

Mamabird-regarding the keto sticks, I'd highly recommend calling first before you drive anywhere. Walgreens has their own brand for $9.99, the other name-brand ones are higher. HOWEVER..around here for some reason, they're always out of stock (?). It gets frusturating. Thank goodness I'm never making a special trip for them..
Target "has" them too, at least they have the price sticker on the shelf for them. They've been out of stock too..I even asked the pharmacist at both places. |

I dont do keto-stix. They just frustrate me. I can tell when I am in ketosis by my stinky breath and pee and that usually does it for me. Although, there are times when I wish I had the keto-stix to see how I am doing.
Mama, are the sticks expired? That might have something to do with the reading. Have a good time at work! I had an interesting thing happen yesterday. I decided that I wanted to eat "junk" yesterday. So I made a trip to Safeway and was looking around and after checking out the bakery and the ice cream section, the cookies and cracker section, then finally the frozen appetizer section...nothing looked good. In fact, the thought of eating that "junk" repulsed me. So I am pleased that after years of LCing that finally I just dont want that stuff...even when I think I do.

Hello all. I'm so sorry I've not been here much. Life has just been really busy for me and I haven't had much time to get online and post.
I'm mostly on plan. I had a bit of a stomach bug the other day and it didn't help with staying on plan. Need to refocus and get serious again. The scale has been bouncing from 144 to 147. Normal, I know, but I would like to see that goal number of 145 or lower consistently. I'll try to get back on this evening and post some more to catch up. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Anything fun going on?

Hey guys. Based on the scale, I'm going to try to decrease my protein intake and cut down on a small bit of fats. I may be having too much cream cheese & cream. I know some people may argue, but I'm wondering if for ME it's too much. With the tape measure my body fat is 19%, but the scale went up 2 lbs this past week.
![]() So..I'm trying to up my veggies. I have two easy recipes to share with you guys, but bear with me, as I'm one of those people who doesn't always have exact measurements! Fried Zucchini 1 zuccini (I use a medium one, serves 2 for us) Olive oil (or butter) Salt & pepper to taste (or any other seasonings) Parmesan, romano, or mozzarella, if desired.
FitDay claims..for veggie only: Amount Per 1 cup slices (about 1 entire zucchini) Calories 28.8 Total Carbohydrate 7.07g 2% Dietary Fiber 2.52g Mashed turnip(s) 1 turnip, keep the skin on butter, or sour cream, or cream, cream cheese or a combination Salt & pepper, if desired
FitDay claims-for veggie only: Amount Per 1 cup, cubes Calories 32.76 Total Carbohydrate 7.64g 3% Dietary Fiber 3.12g Enjoy! Liz, the indian store has turnips cheap. I was actually looking for rutabagas though. Angela Quote:
I could just eat it with a spoon, no problem! I tend to get into the mentality that more is better in terms of fat, but I think all of that extra fat is just turning into..well..FAT! I've noticed that I was going through it a lot faster than I had in the past, so rather than buy fat-free (chemical), I'll just cut back a weeee bit on it.Oh hey..if anyone else uses ARCO (cheapie station) to fill up with gas, please, please check your accounts. There's been some stories lately about people tampering with the debit-swipe machines (well, there and at some grocery stores too). The guys at the station down the street claim to have caught someone trying to install something late at night. I've decided from now on to just feed a $20 into it. We rarely fill up anyway, but I'd be pissed if someone got into our account. Like I don't have enough to worry about! Last edited by Kris T. : 06-02-2008 at 01:22 PM. |

Happy Monday! Hope everyone's having a good one...
I'm just about to do Callanetics Evolution - just finished Tae Bo and 20 push-ups. This will be my 2nd time doing Evolution - it really kicked my butt on Saturday! Took yesterday off from exercise. Food is still the same - Egg Cream, raw almond butter, celery, sugar snap peas, bunless burgers (though I did have one yesterday with sourdough bread - but in Eat Fat Lose Fat, Dr. Mary Enig says that's the best bread to have if you're going to have any). Mamabird - that's so cool you're moving to SC! Have you heard when the stores here are supposed to be opening? It was supposed to be this spring but it doesn't look like that's happening and the WF website doesn't specify a date. Did you find the EC recipes? Liz - AWESOME Angel - glad to see you here, sorry to hear you were sick. Kris - Thanks for the great veggie recipes - that zucchini one sounds awesome - can't wait to try it. That's great that you're aware of what foods are affecting you. What do you make with cream cheese? Last edited by skinhealth : 06-02-2008 at 01:03 PM. |

Good to see you, Angel, hope you feel better.
Angela, you are awesome with exercise! I am envious. Thanks for the recipes, Kris. I made mashed turnips for dinner tonight. They were yummy! I also bought zucchini to have for the other recipe. I do shop at Tassajara...maybe I will bump into you there one day. I have not been to the Indian grocery yet. I almost went today. Have you been to the one on Dougherty next to Denicas? It is the same type of place. I have not been in there yet either. Did not weigh in today. Menu L: protein bar D: artichoke, turnips and a bit of chicken salad S: pickle BBL to catch up. skinhealth:I dont know when they'll open. I'll have to ask. I've heard different times. I can't wait to move to Santa Cruz and get out of San Jose. Slower pace and fresher air. Thankyou for the egg cream ideas. Now I'll have to get the courage to try them.
