I would be happy to meet you somewhere to give them to you.

Otherwise, I will just donate them to Goodwill.

Good Morning Everyone! Happy Tuesday!

I am back on consistent LC eating as of yesterday. I just needed the week to re-nourish myself. I am glad I did though. I work late on Tuesdays to count inv and then come in super early on Wednesday morning so I may not be in to post my menu tonight. I probably wont pop back in until Wed afternoon.

Isparkle..how was your first day?

I only have a moment, but I thought I'd pop in and post my menu for yesterday since I didn't get around to posting it then.

B: raspberry egg cream
L: salami w/ cream cheese
D: taco w/ cheese taco shell, red peppers and sour cream

For dessert I tried something I think I've seen here somewhere for ice cream. I froze some heavy cream in ice cube trays then put them into my Magic Bullet with Splenda, vanilla and a little more cream. It didn't work out so well. The texture looked nice, but it needs something else to make it taste a little less like . . . frozen cream. If I figure it out, I'll let everyone know. It seems like it could work well if I can get the recipe right.

Snow,

I have a book that came with my ice cream maker. The recipes are very easy and you can convert them to low carb. I will hunt the book down today and post some for you.

Hey Dawn, that would be great! I've been having some ice cream cravings lately. A good recipe will be wonderful.

Today's menu for me:
B: 2 1/2 cinnamon biscuits coffee
L: salami & cream cheese
D: Flat Out pizza

I'm working on some frozen greek yogurt right now. We'll see how this works.

I watched Idol, too. David Cook is definately my favorite. Do ya think he'll win or will it be another Chris Daughtry situation?

Okay...so I've discovered something about myself...when I go off of low-carb for a week, I can't go back to purely low-carb immediately - it makes me want to eat high-carb food. I have to eat some low-carb junk food for the 1st few days back or else I fall of the wagon again...grrr....good to know though for the next time...which I'm sure there will be.

How is everyone doing with the heat? I'm not a fan.

Hummingbird - have you been doing more Callanetics? I just discovered that this place is opening in the village where I work a couple days a week...I can't wait to check it out!
Regarding the aloe vera juice - I only take it to coat my stomach in preparation for the garlic/ACV mixture - it's VERY strong but does the trick every time and my skin is getting even glowier. I've done research on the combo - it's pretty incredible.

Lisa - Have you tried the Egg Cream yet? They're so yummy. Was this your first time making Oopsie rolls? How do you use them? I haven't tried them yet but am very curious.

Liz - I hear ya with the not posting/being off plan thing...same thing I do too. Thanks for the offer of the clothes - very sweet - it occurred to me that perhaps I should've offered as well before I took all my size 12 & 14 pants to Goodwill. Nice to have the extra space for new, thinner clothes, isn't it?

isparkle - how's the new WOE going?

Angel - hope you're feeling better today. I'm definitely wanting to make some ice cream tonight. Mine will just be the blended strawberries, raw cream, vanilla beans, agave/xylitol, and egg yolks blended and poured into a baggie and kept in the freezer for an hour or so - YUM! I seem to remember you posting a while back about sorbets that you made in your Magic Bullet, care to share those recipes?

Dawn - Good to see you back and Congrats on the weight loss!

Okay - so it's almost 5pm and I'm eating for the 1st time today - Egg Cream - will be doing Callanetics next, showering, and before I go out I will eat a bunless cheeseburger - have replaced taco salad with cheeseburgers.
Too hot for cardio today - will get it in 1st thing in the morning the next 3 days.

Later!

As far as this Sunday and getting together - I can meet even earlier than I thought. I'm off of work at 5 and will be in Saratoga village - so 5:30, 5:45 would be a good time to meet. I'm still up for it if y'all are. What do you think?

Sounds good but for me it depends on when/where as I've already made some other commitments for Sunday (Liz said she couldn't make it and I didn't hear from anyone else when I checked-in a few days ago) I can't get to the South Bay on Sunday for sure. Time will be too tight for me. Sorry.

Menu

I love the heat Angela...call me crazy. Plus, when it is hot outside we are busy at work and I could use all the sales I can get.

HB, I took a look at your blog, and I'm sorry that you are struggling. If you don't mind a little "tough love", I'll let you know what I think.

I think it's a bit early in your journey to be tweeking your eating so much. There are all kinds of fads that show up here a lot of people get derailed by following them. Refeeds, IMO, are a dangerous thing, especially in the beginning of a LC WOE. I think some people use refeeds as a way to have a day to eat whatever they want and not feel guilty about it because it's part of their "plan". Dr. Atkins says that one bite of a carby food can be the kiss of death. It's just too hard to get back on plan. You are back at square one with getting back into ketosis and the carby foods cause cravings and the appetite suppression is gone. An occasional day off plan is one thing, one day every week (which might turn into two or more) is quite another. It won't help you get to goal faster. It will probably just slow things down.

Now, this is all just my not so humble opinion . I haven't done much research into refeeding, I just know what I've experienced and what Dr. A had to say about such things. Feel free to completely dismiss this if you want.

Angela - Good to see you back. I am feeling better, thanks. My strawberry sorbet is really just blended frozen strawberries, sweetener and enough cream to make it work. Sometimes I add a little water to thin it out if I'm trying not to use too much cream.

Stay cool, everyone.

Thanks Angel. I think you have a point.

Although refeeds are about more than a "cheat day" - they assist w/ metabolism & glycogen & leptin, etc.

But it may be too much, too soon, in the LC game for me, and I am very seriously considering restarting Induction on 5/16.

(not 5/15 cause we're going to Forbidden Island to celebrate our 20th "anniversary"! we met on May 15, 1988 - married on Oct 31, 1991)

~ June 16 I will resume CKD.

XO,
HB

Hello Ladies! Hope everyone is staying as cool as possible. It is blazing hot out there. We were super busy at work today.

HB, sounds like you have a good plan in place. I am one who cannot do re-feeds. It turns into an all out carb-fest for me. It is one of those YMMV things.

Menu

B: protein bar
L: smoothie
D: chicken and veggies

I am exhausted. I was at work at 4:30am today and got off at 4pm. Night Night.

well, re-feeds are SUPPOSED to be an all out carb-fest ~ so you CAN do it!

Menu

B: protein bar
L: cheese steak sanwich no bread
D: double double protein style

Have a good night!

Hi Everyone! I have good news to share! I FINALLY broke into the 150's today. I wasnt going to say anything until I was positive but I am so happy that I couldnt contain myself.

I have not seen a number that low on the scale in about 10 years or so. I still have a long way to go to hit goal. I think I will shoot for 130-135 but I am so happy that my weight is trending down.

A bit of history about me. I have been at this WOE since Jan 07. I have flirted with the 150's about 5 times. I never had made it into that "decade". I seem to sabatoge myself when I get close. So I am very happy that I made it. I feel that now that I have broken into the 150's I have a new motivation. It feels good.

A special Thank you to Angel who has seen me through a lot and knows how hard I have tried to hit the 150's and knows how many times I sabatoged myself once I came close. Thanks for being there for me, Angel. I dont know where I would be without you.

Thanks to Angela, Lisa, HB and the rest of the BABs for being supportive of me as I have been making this weight loss journey. You all are fantastic! I feel so blessed to have a wonderful support network.

PS. As soon as I feel good about the 150's I will "reveal" my weight in my stats. I just want to be sure.
