Good Wednesday Morning!

Since school is starting today I am working from home in the morning until I make sure the bus picks my daughter up. She's in a very large school system and they bus all children into school due to parking and space issues. Sometimes the first day gets a bit crazy so I figured if I stay home then they are sure to be here on time! Otherwise, I would need to come home from work to get her there. That's the nice thing about working so close to home now, the fact that it wouldn't take me very long to get home.

I can't believe it about your car! I'd be so ticked off. $400 for a new window? That's really high, I'm so sorry - people are such idiots.

I'd love to say I've hit the 70 lb mark but my weight is just.not.going.anywhere! I think it might be possible by the end of this week though, its a trend. I ended up working out today, even though I said I'd be taking Wed. off. I only did steady-state cardio though, just walking on the treadmill, no crazy intervals, just took it easy.

Okay - off to do something and make it look like I'm really working from home

Have a great day - I'll be back

E: 35 min cardio
B: coffee shake
L: shake
D: pork chops

Happy first day of school! Woo Hoo!!!!! Did the bus pick her up?

Don't feel bad about weight stalls. I gained 6 pounds this week. WTH???? I'm so mad.

I meet with my trainer tomorrow and we better make some serious friggin' changes. The kids have their own personal trainer that has a meal replacement they both use and have done the 3 day fast. I think I'm going to give in and do it. Three days of nothing but the 3 meals a day of the replacement made with water. It might help me jump start again. I'm so angry. All this work and I'm gaining weight. How discouraging. But I will not give up. The Peace Corps is too important to me and I have to lose the weight to go.

Tonight will be the stairmaster and maybe a yoga class if there is room.

Have a great day and I'll check in later.

E - cardio, cardio, cardio
B - meal replacement
L - bratwurst
D - salmon/grilled

Good Thursday Morning!

6 lbs has to be water retention...I've been there! Just remember how you feel and the physical changes your body is going through.

I like the idea of meal replacement, mainly for the simplicity of it. I've finally made a shake that I love and tastes great and I've figured out how to make it thick w/o adding ice.

This morning the tv and radio went out at the gym and I didn't bring my music so I could only handle 5 min on the treadmill before my mind started getting bored so I did my strength workout this morning. I need to put my music player in the car just in case this happens again...

Okay - off to work, I realized I need to keep my job or at least one in the non-profit field as I've started a new tuition repayment plan that allows all remaining debt after 10 years to be forgiven. It gives me a new hope that I may be out of debt one day! They will be forgiving 2/3 of my debt from my bachelor's degree!!!

Have a great day - be back tomorrow - hopefully with some good news from the scale.

E: 45 min strength/cardio
B: coffee shake
L: shake
D: burgers

Happy Thursday, Meg.

I've started my 3 day fast. I'm not happy about it, but need to do something. I was so depressed yesterday about not losing, but gaining, that I didn't go to the gym and went up to bed before dinner dishes were done. I meet with my trainer tonight so there better be some changes coming.

Nothing much to write here. DD and SIL were arguing this morning and woke the baby up 2 hours early, so I have no quiet time this morning. It makes me cranky. I need my quiet time.

Off to play with Ali and finish drinking my shake. have a great day and give me some good news!

E - not sure
B, L, D - shake made with water

Good evening, Meg. I wanted to post while I'm still awake and fresh.

I met with my trainer tonight and he is thrilled with my results. He lectured me for my fixation on the scale. He did my measurements and I've lost 3% body fat in 4 weeks. He said I'm crazy to complain about the weight gain when I've dropped 3% in 4 weeks. The gain is strictly muscle gain and will taper again shortly. He is happy with my food intake as I average consuming 1300 calories LESS per day than I burn. He said it will catch up and to just keep tracking my intake and caloric burn.

He also took my workout and threw it away and started me on a completely different routine. I'm excited to start it tomorrow.

So, after a crappy day, this was a nice end to it.

Fast is going fine. I'm not hungry, no headache. I did have DD get me a diet dr pepper, which should arrive soon. I figure colored, carbonated water, no calories...I am having one.

Hope today went well.

More tomorrow.

Good Friday Morning!

I am so thrilled to report a whoosh!!! I am down to 249 - which means I've lost 72 lbs!!! I've lost inches as well, which is what keeps me going.

I'm so glad you are feeling better about your hard work. And I drink diet Dr. Pepper everyday - can't live w/o it and won't! It's difficult to not fixate on the scale, I understand that concept of inches vs. weight. I think that's why I don't get too frustrated with the scale because I continue to measure, but when I'm losing inches I expect to see a loss on the scale as well.

I found out yesterday that our department isn't being looked at for cuts so that made me feel better as well. I just need to keep plugging away at everything in life and good things will come, right?

With that said, I should probably get to work! Its good to hear your fast is going well. I plan to stick to my supplemental shakes until I need to change it up again; its the only thing that really works for me. For some reason I need to keep my calorie intake really low in order to lose so that is what I'll do - I feel fine doing it so why not? Whatever it takes.

Have a great weekend - I'll check back in later.

E: 30 min steady state cardio
B: coffee shake
L: shake
D: fajita meat from mexican rest. (beef, pork, chorizzo (sp?), shrimp and onions)

Guten morgen and happy Friday!

CONGRATULATIONS! 72# is absolutely amazing! I'm so proud of you, Meg! You really do inspire me to keep going!

Holy crap I have the worst headache and I didn't sleep well at all. Ugh. If I don't feel better, food will be shoveled in today. I honestly believe if it makes you feel like this, it probably isn't good for you and my kids' trainer can bite it. My trainer was hesitant about this fast (only supplements 3x a day) and warned me about shutting down. I have a new workout tonight and it is going to be heavy, so I will probably eat some real food before I work out. I don't want to drop the weights on my head.

No plans for the weekend. No car (not drivable until I get the rear windshield fixed), so will borrow a car to the gym, then I'm stuck at the house.

That's about it. New interval cardio training starting tomorrow and tonight new weight/core training. I can't wait!

Have a great day, a wonderful weekend and keep up the great work!

E - weight/core training
B - shake, coffee
L - shake
D - shake (we'll see)

Happy Sunday evening, Meg. Thought I'd write while I'm still in the mood.

Friday was my new workout and it was awesome and yesterday I did a combo cardio (interval) and new core/weight training. I kicked my own a$$. I'm my best butt kicker. I was so exhausted I crashed in my room all afternoon yesterday and fell asleep by 8:00. Boy, I'm a wild woman.

This afternoon I'm headed to a friend's house for the evening. Just BSing and having a glass of wine to relax. It will be nice to get out of the house for a bit.

I have promised my trainer I won't touch a scale until our next session, which is in 4 weeks. I hope I can keep my promise. I know he does it for a reason, but you know how it is to work and work and work and not look at the scale. But, since I told him I would, I am going to stay away from the scale and just keep busting my humps and tracking my food.

I hope you have an awesome week and keep up the great work.

Good Monday Morning!

I'm glad you're feeling good about your workouts. For me, intervals are the best way to get good results and they make the time go by much faster.

I finally joined the technology world and signed up to Facebook - your name popped up and I sent a request to add you to my friends. I'm still learning this whole new world, I'm amazed at the way people use that thing!

So overall a good weekend. We had beautiful weather - sunny and 70! I couldn't believe it was still August - this morning...48 degrees! Oh and I was drying my hair yesterday morning and all of the sudden realized that I never renewed by registration and tags for my car on my birthday! I've been driving illegally for 2 months! So now, on the last day of the month, I need to go to the BMV and hope the lines aren't too bad. Why the heck that dawned on me when it did I'll never know but I'm so glad I remembered before the police figured it out for me!

That's about it for me, I've got a ton of stuff to do today. Have a great day.

E: 30 min cardio/intervals
B: coffee shake
L: shake

Happy Monday, Meg.

First of all, I'm so happy you have joined this century and are on FaceBook. Next, I must ask you to resend a friend request. I got one and couldn't figure out who the heck it was! I had received some really strange requests at the same time, so wasn't sure what to make of it. Sorry!

Feeling pretty good today, but am taking tonight off from the gym again. I just need some rest. I'm physically exhausted, but it is probably just from the weather and staying up late visiting at a friend's house last night.

I feel like you do about August...WTH? It has been in the 40s at night and our highs have been as low as 65? Colorado in August is normally a butt burner with no reprieve at night. My garden is changing colors already and fall is in the air. This means, for me, that my time in America is getting short and I need to enjoy every minute I can with my family.

Anyway, Have a great evening and keep up the awesome work. Oh, and please resend a friend request on FaceBook. I promise to respond!

E - rest
B - eggs
L - not sure
D - not sure as DD is cooking tonight

Good Tuesday Morning

I'll resend the request, once I figure it out!

Not a lot happening here - my boss called me at home last night (she's been out of the office) to tell me there will be changes taking place. So I get to sit patiently waiting for her to show up sometime today. I just hope she isn't going to tell me to find a new job.

Got a great workout in this morning, I'm using more machines and spending way too much time there in the morning, I need to establish a routine to get me in and out faster so I'm not running around in the morning.

I love how you are so looking forward to PC! Definitely enjoy every moment with your family.

Have a great day!

E: 45 min strength/cardio

Good Wednesday Morning!

I got your request on Facebook...I'm still working my way through that but I just don't have the time to figure it all out. But since we are on mandatory time off now (that was the news) I'll have some time to play around. We have to take 4 days off in Sept (including Labor Day) and 3 days off in October. Not bad, but I don't have much vacation time since I haven't been here a year yet. So basically I won't have time to take off during the holidays but at least I have a job, for now! I just hope they aren't postponing the inevitable and have to do layoff's come November. If that's the case, let us go now. Finding a job is difficult enough, especially during the holidays.

Okay - time to work - have a great day!

E: 35 min cardio

Good morning, Meg. Sorry I didn't respond yesterday but I have a computer virus I'm battling and am not winning. My SIL said he and my daughter have a virus too so he is having a tech buddy reimage our computers this weekend.

I just got a call from Peace Corps and my invite is deferred until I lose the weight, get my cholesterol under control and get my MMR. The nurse was really nice about and just told me I was getting this letter, but that I am still a good PC candidate; they just want to make sure I am healthy before we go further. So by the end of the year, more blood tests and off to PC with it. She wanted me to know that in no way does it mean a no. I'm not going to get upset, as I knew this was coming, so I'll just buckle down and get it done.

I did my cardio intervals last night and hated every minute of them, but did it. There is a "boot camp" my daughter and SIL have offered to pay for if I want to go and I think I'll take them up on it. It sounds like a good, good idea, so will take them up on it. They want me to dump my trainer and go to theirs, but I like my trainer and won't change that.

Other than that, same thing next day...tonight is my new core/weight training night, so that will be fun. I was so sore after my workout on Saturday I could barely move! I was awesome!!!!!

So, that's my news. I have to keep on keeping on, so won't get down about my deferment and am still aiming for Africa.

As for your work, I am sorry to hear there are mandatory vacation days. I honestly think you need to get your resume out there and start looking. From the layoffs I've been through it is a precursor to layoffs. I don't see you getting laid off, but you are better to have something on the back burner than be caught with your pants down.

E - core/weight training
B - shake, coffee
L - shake, water
D - Parmesan crusted talapia and salad
S - shake

Good Tuesday morning!

Back to work...not excited. I had a relaxing weekend; didn't do too much. We got new mattresses, boy did we need them! Went to King's Island on Sunday and had a great time now that I can get my daughter to ride roller coaster's with me!!

I got a horrible bruise from a ride though, on my side where the underwire sits, just below the arm pit! It hurts!

So that's about it, I need to get going. How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

Have a great day!

Guten morgen and happy Tuesday, Meg.

Your weekend actually sounds like a lot of fun. Relaxing and going to the park...what a blast. I take it that your daughter wasn't big on rides before? Man, when I was a kid my parents had to drag me away from rides because I was too young and had no sense of fear! I LOVE RIDES! Last time I rode something I ended up with horrendous bruises on my legs though. Getting older sucks.

My weekend was pretty quiet. Gym time; dog park; the usual. Nothing fun. My exciting news was I got tax refunds from 2007 and 2008 on Friday, so for the first time in a long, long time I have money again. Oh, it feels so nice. So, I took myself to the movies on Saturday and saw GI Joe. Boy, am I exciting or what?

I went with DD to her personal trainer yesterday and boy, was I not impressed. She pays a ton of money for him to have one on one time with her and chat while she works out. I get a much better workout on my own and don't have to talk to anyone. I am going to take the Boot Camp (starting tonight) four days a week that he sponsors, but that's it. It is $100 for unlimited classes, or $10 a class. You know me, I don't do anything half-way, so I'm paying for unlimited, then still will hit the gym 2 or 3 days a week.

That's it for me. Enjoy your short week!

E - boot camp
B - supp bar
S - 2 scrambled eggs, bacon
L - steak (leftover)
S - not sure
D - not sure yet

Happy Wednesday!

My daughter had some made up fear of big roller coasters - she's always loved the tame ones but I knew she was ready for something more! I bribed her with $10 - I know she can't resist money! And I was right! She can't stop talking about it. It was funny though because I used the whole "they are safe or they wouldn't let you on" stuff and while we were on it (it's an extremely bumpy and shaky ride) she kept trying to put her hands up and I kept telling her to hold the bars and she would argue with me "but YOU said I won't fall out" "YOU said they were safe". Ha! It sucks when they get to that age when they are smarter than you.

I hear you on the personal trainers! The one at my gym stands there, with his McD's coffee in hand, counting out loud for this lady. I'm thinking she could pay me to count out loud for her! Boot Camp sounds fun! Its good to mix things up a bit.

I've switched my routine around - strength on M, W, F - rotating upper and lower along with a quick 15 min interval and then 30-45 min steady state cardio on T and Th. we'll see how it goes.

That's about it for me. Take care, have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow.

E: 30 min lower body, 15 min cardio/interval
B: coffee shake
L: shake
D: chicken breast w/ avocado

Happy Wednesday, Meg.

First of all, no it isn't rude to tell someone to shut up. I believe in expressing yourself...everyone else does.

Boot camp kicked my butt! It was awesome! Keea is upset because I'm not using her trainer, but he just wasn't good for me. No pushing, no hurting. My trainer pushes me, but not to the point of hurting me. However, he is more a coach. He meets with me once a month to review where I am, my next goal and gives me all new routines. Throwing in this boot camp is going to make a HUGE difference! I can feel it. LIterally!

My oldest daughter is having it rough...her and her BF of over 10 years, who have a daughter together, are split up. She got a townhouse for her and my grand-daughter and they are starting life over. I know she can do it, as she did it with me. I never wanted my daughters to go through anything like I did, but this is for the best and all will be okay. I'll probably fly up for Thanksgiving.

More boot camp tonight, so I'm excited. Sore, but excited. Keeping a 1200 calorie deficit every day and can feel the difference in my body every day when I get up. I think I'm going to make it, Meg! I really do.

Okay, off to do some housework. Have a great day!

E - boot camp
B - protein bar, coffee
S - shake
L - taco salad
S - shake
D - not sure yet

Good Thursday Morning Kat!

I'm glad you are enjoying your bootcamp...sounds like just the thing you needed to change it up a bit. I KNOW you are going to make, you are too determined not to!

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. I understand that you wouldn't want her to go through this but there is a reason out there, she'll figure it out and come out stronger.

Okay - I don't feel like I'm fully awake yet...off to down more coffee. Have a great. KUTGW and I'll be back to check in tomorrow!

E: 35 min cardio

L: shake

TGIF...

I feel like major crapola - I'm afraid I got that dang flu...tummy's rumbling and getting crampy, neck and shoulders are achey, headache, nausea...that's what I get for going to Kings Island during a flu outbreak! So I'm thinking my weekend may not be all that great, in fact, I'm already thinking about leaving work and going home to bed.

I worked out this morning and felt fine, tired, but otherwise fine. So that's it for me, how's your boot camp coming along? Have a great weekend, I'll check in later.

E: 30 min strength/15 min cardio intervals
B: coffee shake
L: shake, if I can handle it
D: mexican - that's the plan but not sure if I'll feel up to it.

I'm so sorry you are getting sick. Hopefully it's just the plain old flu, not H1N1. Get some rest, drink lots of fluids and, well, get more rest!

Sorry I didn't reply yesterday. Lots going on this week. Yesterday was SIL's birthday, tonight is his party. I'm going to make myself scarce today. I don't feel like prepping for the party. I figure if my DD can put things off until the day of the party, instead of planning ahead, she can do it pretty much by herself. I offered a week ago to do the prep, menu, etc. and she got snarky. So, I think I'll go get my hair cut and colored, then a meeting with my trainer this afternoon.

Boot camp is awesome, but kicked my butt! I'm not quite as sore today as yesterday, but still moving slow in the morning. I'm struggling with not injuring my knee. After the surgery I was told no impact ever again, but my body is saying DO IT! So, I'm having to remind myself not to jump or do some of the workouts.

Other than that, just hanging out this weekend. New shoes for the gym today as my feet are killing me and my shoes are about 3 years old. I need some support!

Have a good weekend and feel better, Meg.

E - gym
B - breakfast supplement
L - no idea
D - no idea

Good Monday Morning!

I'm feeling much better. I slept for 16 hours on Friday night and then took naps all day Saturday and started feeling better yesterday. Now, I'm just tired, still, but not as bad. Oh, and my face broke out like a teenager that hit puberty! So I have no idea what was going on but I think its over - now if my face would clear up. I hate wearing makeup but feel a little better with the coverage.

So how was the party? Did you break down and help or stick to your guns and made yourself scarce? 3 year old shoes - Kat! You know better - get yourself some new shoes.

Okay - off to start the workweek, I plan to take Friday off as another one of my mandatory days so its a short week - I can do it. Have a great day!

E: 30 min lower body strength, 15 min cardio interval
B: coffee shake
L: shake
D: omelet w/ cheese and bacon

Good morning, Meg. Venting, so beware!

What a rough start to a week for me. Ugh. I'm so irritable it is crazy. My SIL woke me at 6:30 to tell me his dog ***** in the house. He cleaned it up, but then I had to take their dog to the vet, since he's been sick for 4 days. I had just shampooed the carpets throughout the house yesterday and have to do them all over again today. Then my computer crashed.....six times in a row. Grrrrr...ever have one of those days?

Saturday I met with my trainer. My weight is up...257. WTH? I am so discouraged I want to quit. He said my body fat is down, but I don't care any more. Why am I gaining weight consistently? So he made a menu for the week and I'm to follow it to the detail. Plus do my boot camp, plus my workouts at the gym.

Friday when DD got home, I packed my bags and headed out for the day. She said, "are you leaving? I need the counters cleaned off." I told her I was doing my business for the day and it was her crap on the counter. She got *****y, but when I got home, she had all my stuff in a pile...2 letters and the charger for my phone. I helped with the cooking and last minute stuff, but made her do all of the things she's put off for weeks. It felt good.

But this morning I got up to a messy, messy house. Did I mention I'm irritated today?

So, let's face it. The day has to go better. I'm going to get cleaning and get the carpets shampooed and the laundry done. Boot camp tonight and I'm ready! Work out some aggression!

Sorry for the whining. I just needed to get it out of my system.

I'm glad you are feeling better. Have a good day and I'll check in tomorrow, sans whining.

E - boot camp
B - shake, coffee
S - string cheese, whole wheat crackers
L - turkey & cheddar wrap on whole wheat wrap, with spinach, sprouts and tomatoes
D - salmon, salad

Happy Tuesday! Woo Hoo!

Yesterday was awesome...well, at least at 6:30 last night. I had an awesome boot camp session. I was the only one in class, so got one on one time and worked my entire body. Even my neck is sore! But I got to spar with the coach (I love boxing), tons of ab work and back work...I love this class. So worth the money.

Our dog, Brucie, is better today. Still not drinking, but he's up and walking around and eating a little food (special diet to help him out). It was pretty touch and go yesterday afternoon, but he's turned the corner and getting better now. Poor old guy.

More boot camp tonight, so I'm stoked. Oh, and when I got home I found my mail...another tax refund check. I bet the IRS never asks me for anything again!

Have a great day. Enjoy the fall weather (at least we have fall weather) and post when you get time.

Good Tuesday Afternoon,

You beat me here today...I have a sick kid, strep throat. She just got off of antibiotics for a staph infection 2 weeks ago! We haven't been to the doc's in 2 years and now we've gone 2x in less than 30 days. I told her she is costing too much money now - time to move out!

It actually worked out for me because I feel like crapola again!!! Why won't it end? My face has broken out so bad I was embarrassed to go to work today, I was almost happy when I had to leave b/c of my daughter being sick. How pathetic is that? Its really that bad. And the stomach cramping and bathroom visits - please let it go away!!

I'm glad things are better for you and the dog.

All I can think of about your weight is that you are working out too hard or just not eating enough? I honestly don't know what else would cause a gain, except your thyroid - have you really been tested? I know that you get your meds online - a lot of the times they are fakes, are you sure you're getting your meds, or are properly dosed? Maybe that's what the latest IRS check is for - get your thyroid checked. I totally understand your frustration though.

So another email came from corporate telling us they aren't handing out raises this year, of course - 3 weeks before mine is due!!!!! Yes, I am looking.

Okay- I'm going to try to get something done today. Take care.

E: 35 min steady state cardio
B: coffee shake
L: omelet and bacon
D: burger?

Wow, what a crappy week for you. I can't even dignify it with a "good morning" or "Happy Wednesday."

So, have you been checked at the doctor for your flu? Your symptoms sound very similar to H1N1. Even if they can't "heal" you, they need to know if you have it so you and co-workers and friends can be proactive in responding to it. After almost a week and you still have abdominal cramping...that's the number 1 sign of the H1N1.

I'm sorry your daughter is so sick. Poor little peanut. It sounds like you two just need 2 days with the door and windows shut, quiet time, resting in jammies all day and let your body catch up and heal itself. I wish there were something I could do.

Boot camp is kicking my booty and I'm loving every minute of it. It is the best money I've spent in a long, long time. I'm slow getting around today, but know in a few days it will pass and I'll feel much better. I do enjoy the aches from a good workout though.

Our dog, Bruce, is finally getting better. He's eating his first full meal right now. Hopefully he'll drink some water shortly so I don't have to force it down his throat. He just growled at my dog, so he's on the mend.

Today will be more of the same; playing with Ali, doing housework and reading the new Dan Brown novel, "Lost Symbol." I've been looking forward to this book for a while.

Now, you and DD get some rest.

Big hugs for you both.

E - boot camp
B - shake, coffee
S - crackers and cheese
L - turkey wrap
D - salmon and veggie
S - shake

Happy Thursday!

I'm feeling mostly better, just exhausted still. I think I got hit with something, started fighting it last week and then I think my wacky hormones kicked in, it feels like TOM for me - oh that darn ovary - why didn't I have them remove both? That would explain the face breaking out and exhaustion oh and the witchy attitude (I swear I want to smack everyone that walks by me). So I've decided to not workout the rest of the week, sleep in and start fresh next week. I'm not going to watch calories for the next few days and just rest.

I'm glad the dog is getting better, its just like having a sick child. My child is much better too - they gave her a stronger antibiotic and it kicked in right away.

So that's it for me, just struggling to get through today and then I'm taking tomorrow off! Have a good day, I'll check back in tomorrow.

E: none
B: coffee
L: burger
D: chicken
