Happy Friday!!! Doesn't mean anything to me right now, but for you working class people...HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

How has the week gone? I have actually dropped a little weight, which is amazing considering the things I'm having to eat right now. But, it is taking its toll on my body. I feel horrible. A headache that won't go away, listless, beotchy as all get out, heartburn and the worst....INSOMNIA. Ugh Oh, and my entire body aches. I guess my lesson in all this is, yes, carbs are killing me. I can't wait for some funds so I can go get nothing but meat and salad. I don't care if it is just 50 pounds of cheap hamburger....meat, meat, meat!

Good news is I have a very good lead and hope to have an interview scheduled today or Monday. And the term is perfect. It is a 7 month contract, and I should be heading out for Peace Corps in 9 months. that would rock!

Anyway, more of the same today. Will actually take a shower and get dressed today and head to the library. I need to get out of the house for a while. I'm becoming a shut in. Then take the dog for a walk and do a little Billy!

I hate to write down what I will put in my body, but have to anyway:

B - coffee and toast (homemade bread, like that makes a diff)
L - top ramen and water
D - top ramen and water
S - top ramen and water???? hehehehe (if I don't laugh I'll cry)
Exer - Billy Blanks Basic Boot Camp (hopefully 20 minutes of it this time)

Have a great Friday and I'll check in before the weekend hits.

Kat

Happy Monday!

So how did the interview go? You sound like you are doing much better mentally, or at least doing a great job faking it!

Busy weekend and busy week ahead. I went to a hockey game Saturday, that was a great game, I've missed going to hockey games. I also planned a trip to Disney, so now my wallet is really ticked off and I'm not even going to look at my bank account! But I need a vacation before the real mess begins at work!

Here's what I've done today:

B: eggs, sausage, coffe, hc, pp
L: taco meat, cheddar cheese, avocado
D: shrimp and broccoli
E: 40 min interval cardio

Now, I get to go pick up my daughter from Girl Scouts and get the ever dreaded Cookie Sale crap! I hate this time of year.

This thing is typing funny so I am going to stop now - check back in tomorrow.

Happy Monday, Meg. Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I haven't been to a hockey game in ages...they were always so much fun, too.

I'm doing okay. Rough day today, but this weekend I did pretty good and even had company. It was the daughter of the friend I made while in India. Her daughter is just as fun as her mom, so we had a great time!

I think tomorrow I'll be feeling better as today has been protein, protein, protein and lots of H2O! I think once I purge my system of all of the Top Ramen, I'll feel much better, both mentally and physically.

I'm envious of your Disney trip! It sounds like a lot of fun and I'm glad you are getting to go before things get bad at work! enjoy the trip!!!

I'll check in tomorrow:

B - Salad w/taco meat and coffee
L - grilled chicken breast, salad w/dressing
D - 3 egg omlet w/american cheese, water

Good Morning! Oh, my gods, the carb headache will be the death of me...OH MY HEAD!!!

I took in exactly 19 g of carbs yesterday, and after 10 days of nothing but carbs...oh man, my body is yelling at me very loudly!!!! But 3 lbs down overnight, so that made me happy.

I have to remember, the headache will pass...the headache will pass...that is my mantra for today. Oh, my head....

Looks like you are very busy right now, but I will keep my eyes open for your posts, Meg! Meals look good, but are you taking in enough calories? It looks like you may be very low on cals, which will stall you. Maybe up it with a desert of some sort (LC of course) or an extra snack or two during the day? Remember, you need to eat!!!! Oh, that felt good! I love telling people what to do!

Have a great Tuesday and write when you get time:

B - 3 egg omlet w/3 slices of american cheese, coffee, water
L - romaine lettuce salad w/taco meat and ranch dressing
S - peanuts and water
D - chicken breast, salad w/ranch, fried egg
S - cheese stick and water

Hey Kat!

The headache - it sucks cuz it hurts but at least you know you're in ketosis! I'm glad to hear you're able to get better food now.

I hear ya about the food, every day varies. I keep the fat up, which does make the foods higher in calories so I should be around 1800 - 2000/daily. My weight won't budge though, its frustrating, but at the same time I'm really into my exercise regime and the weights are making a difference in my shape. Plus I move around a lot more at this job so I'm sneaking in more exercise that way too.

My mind is wandering, sorry about that! My biggest problem is sleep, I'm exhausted when I go to bed and I sleep great - for about 3-4 hours - then I'm tossing and turning the rest of the night! I think that is my biggest obstacle right now. I'm going in for my 6 month checkup for my hyst so maybe my doc can help me out with that.

One thing for sure, I'm not going crazy over numbers on the scale. I need to learn to accept myself and do my best. If it takes another year to lose 40 more lbs then so be it. My goal is 50 more so it might take a couple of years but I'm healthier than ever so I'm okay with it.

Got to run for now - time to make dinner and buy a new alarm clock! I'll check back in tomorrow!

B: 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, coffee, heavy cream

Guten Morgen, Meg!

You really have made so much progress since last year when we met. Not just physical, but mental. Your head is in the right place. Accept yourself for you and anything else is just a bonus! You are doing so amazing on this WOE and when you fall off the carb wagon, you always dust yourself off and move on without whining! You rock!!!!!

My scale isn't moving like I used to see when I restarted, but I can see a difference in my belly when I get out of the shower (TMI...sorry ).

I can empathize with the insomnia completely. I spend most of my time looking at the ceiling fan, wondering when sleep will come. Once in a while is expected, but this ongoing insomnia is a killer. It makes your body ache all the time. Have you tried melatonin? It is herbal, but seems to work for a lot of folks. I might get some today to se if I can catch a few winks tonight.

We are cold here too (well, for Georgia, it is cold...about 25) and I can't bring myself to go out for a walk. I think I'll just hang out in front of the fireplace, job hunt and be lazy!

So, here is my plan...I'll chat with you later.

B - 3 fried eggs, 4 sausage links, water
S - 18 oz Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper (love that stuff)
L - taco salad, water
S - sliced ham w/cheese, diet CVDP
D - grilled burger patty w/ american chese, salad w/ranch
water, water, water, water, water.

Later!

Hey Kat -

Well its a high of 7 degrees here today, so this morning its nice and bitter! Thank goodness for my workout dvd's!

I DO Rock - and thank you! It's about time I realize I need to be happy no matter what size I am (Not that a smaller size wouldn't help me a little!). But I'm seriously feeling good!

No such thing as TMI, I know exactly how you feel. Even when I measure it doesn't seem like anything's shrinking but I know that I feel and look different, things have to adjust and just because my thighs are getting smaller inch wise, they are shaping up nicely!

Melatonin, yes, I swear, or used to, by the stuff. I fall asleep w/o any problems, but I wake up after a few hours, even with melatonin. I need to look further into that one.

Today's Plan:

E: none!
B: eggs, sausage, coffee, hc
L: eggs, sausage (just doubled the batch when I cooked this morning)
D: chicken breast on romaine with ranch dressing

Okay - got to run, talk to you later Have a great day!

Meg, before I forget...for the insomnia, my problem is two fold. I can't fall asleep and when I do, I can't stay asleep. I started Ambien CR. It puts you to sleep and keeps you to sleep without feeling drugged. It is the ONLY thing that does both for me and it is awesome! I can't wait to get insurance again so I can get a refill and a good night sleep.

Happy Saturday!

I'm making bad choices so I thought I'd jump on and try to kick myself in the butt! I did have pizza today, it tasted great and I'm going to have a margarita tonight, period. I got my exercise in this morning and cleaned the house, I also got a new battery in my car. But that's it, I am going to my doctor's on the 28th so I'd like to weigh a little less than I did after my hyst. Although that should be kind of easy seeing that I ballooned up 13 lbs over night when I went last august, which was still a lot less than before! It will be almost 1 year to the date for my last annual so it will be nice to put a final # on 1 year of mostly low carb.

Here's today:

E: 40 min cardio interval
B: coffee, hc
L: 2 pork chops
D: Little Ceasar's pizza (I'm over it) + a planned margarita

Sunday's plan:
E: 45 min strength and cardio
B: 2 eggs, sausage, coffee, hc
L: burgers
D: chicken breast on romaine

I'll check back in on Monday morning. I hope you are having a great weekend!

Here's todays plan:

E: 40 min interval cardio
B: coffee, hc, 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties
L: taco meat and cheddar cheese
D: broccoli and shrimp

Have a great day! Check back in tomorrow! Are you still doing the Billy Blanks videos?

Good morning, Meg. Sorry for the silence. No internet access for a while.

Just sat at a pub, had a diet coke and watched the inauguration. Now, on to my day!

Things are the same. No work. No prospects...but I'm alive. I think my youngest daughter has flown my oldest daughter and oldest grandbaby to visit for my birthday on Thursday. I'm not 100% sure, but pretty dang sure. Neither are good at keeping secrets!

I'm trying my best to stay LC, but with budget restraints, I do what I can. I'm not losing any weight at all and feel like a hog. I'm still doing BB, but not regular enough to benefit. I need to change that, don't I? The depression has been horrific recently to the point of not being able to function, so I'm trying to survive right now, then will kick it in gear if I can get my head straight.

To keep myself honest though, here it is:

B - eggs, sausage and salsa, coffee
L - 3 diet cokes
D - large salad with taco meat, cheese and ranch, water
S - None...out of snack food, which is a good thing!

I will try to post tomorrow!

Hey Kat!

That would be great if you get to see your family for your birthday! When do you think they are coming?

I'm sorry that things are rough right now. Couple of things - any exercise will greatly improve depression, switch it up, go to the library and get different videos. Just try to keep moving, I know its easier said than done but you know you'll feel better and you need to be in top shape if you are going into Peace Corps, right? And you've got the time right now - if you don't; I know you'll look back and regret it. Also, you're food looks pretty good. If you have to buy cheap, carby foods - I'd go for beans; they are dirt cheap and contain alot of protein.

I hope things get better soon!

Here's my plan:
E: 45 min strength and cardio
B: 2 eggs, 2 sausage, coffee, heavy cream
L: chicken and cabbage cooked in bacon grease
D: not sure - probably burgers

Have a great day!

Guten Morgen, Meg!

You are so right. I should work out daily. I know I should. I promise today I will get my buns in gear and spend some time with billy! It is one of those things. I'm depressed and exercise will help, but I'm too depressed to exercise, so I'm depressed. What a fun roller coaster!

And the advice on the beans...I hadn't even thought of it. Thank you! I knew there must be a better food to eat that was cheap. My feet won't touch the ground for a month or so, but what are you gonna' do?

I have lots of house cleaning to do today, so will bust my butt doing that and will crank up my Green Day DVD and clean to music and dance...that will get my heartrate up. Then Billy, then a long walk with my poor dog who wonders why mama just sits and stares at the ceiling all day instead of taking him for a walk.

I am not sure about arrivals, but I have the feeling my daughter will show up tomorrow some time, which is my birthday. If not, I'll have a clean house, which is fine by me.

Okay, off my big, round butt and getting moving. Thanks for the pep talk.

B - 3 poached eggs, toast, coffee
L - salad w/ranch and chicken in salsa
D - burger and salad
water, water, water

KAT -

I'll keep it short and simple today (But I'll be coming back to kick your butt into gear tomorrow!:

I hope you have a great day - I hope your kids come to visit and you enjoy your weekend!

Here's my plan:

E: 45 min interval cardio
B: eggs and sausage plus coffee and heavy cream
L: burgers with provolone
D: hmmmm - shrimp? I don't know yet - some meat!

Oh by the way - if you soak dried beans over night its supposed to reduce the gaseous effects. You could make up some batches of soups with it.

Have a great and Happy Birthday! I'll talk to you soon.

So how was your birthday?

I don't have much time, I need to get my exercise in so here goes:

E: 45 min strength and cardio
B: 2 eggs and sausage, coffee, heavy cream
L: 2 eggs and sausage (forgot to make something last night!)
D: not sure - likely burgers again

Have a great weekend, I'll stop by if I get the chance. Talk to you later.

First of all, update on my sucky birthday...the day after was great. My youngest DD and grandbaby showed up Friday night and we had a great time. Went wedding dress shopping and she found the perfect dress. I tried on a "mothers dress" and was so upset...I looked horrible.

We bought meat and veggies for me, so I'm strict as of morning!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Well I'm glad things turned out better! And you know what it takes to make you feel better about a mothers dress so get moving! (I say that in a nice way )

I wish I could slow down, between taking time for myself (up at 4am to exercise) and leaving for work at 6am, plus the 45-60 min commute each way (for now) and then my daughter's after school stuff - well, I guess I am kind of busy. But its really not that bad and its only temporary. Sometime in March we can move into the new hospital so I won't have to get up as early because it won't take me more than 10 min to get to work so I will be adjusting my work hours up a little.

So my weekend has been eggs and sausage for breakfast, chicken breast for lunch and burgers with cheese for dinner...

Monday's Plan:
E: 45 min interval cardio
B: eggs and sausage, coffee, heavy cream
L: burgers
D: shrimp and cod

And of course another busy Monday so I'll be back to check in on Tuesday. Have a good day!

Good morning, Meg. Sounds like you are doing great and staying on track. And no apology for kicking me in the a$$. I need it. Depression really does a mind trip and I need to get myself together. Keep up the hard work and keep kicking me around! I need it!

B - coffee, eggs, bacon
L - steak and salad
D - burger and veggies

Its Tuesday - only 5 more days until I leave for Disney!!!! I so need a vacation.

I've been doing so good too, I wooshed down 4lbs the other night and of course have put back 2lbs - its like my body loves this weight, I'm always stuck at this same weight no matter what! Its frustrating, but not enough to really bother me!

So here's todays plan:

E: just 15 min to warm me up
B: eggs, sausage, coffee, hc
L: burgers (I know, but they are so cheap)
D: chicken wrapped in bacon

That's it, talk to you later. Have a great day. I'm going to see just how bad that snow is out there!

Good morning, Meg! Snow? Ugh! I don't miss snow at all! After the last 2 years in Colorado on crutches through the entire winter I am done with snow!

Was very good yesterday, but didn't take in enough calories. However, I was very strict on what I did put in my body, so I am happy.

I have my interview tomorrow with Peace Corps (pushed out a day), which means by then I'll be in ketosis. Poor guy interviewing me will probably think I've been eating out of cat box with the breath I will have.

I'm excited for you to go on your Disney trip, then come back and tell me all about it! Just don't pull a Sharon and not come back. I'd feel pretty silly posting here to myself.

Yesterday was the boost I needed. In a single day I received grocery money from my parents, money from my brother for my birthday and was notified that my unemployment claim was approved and it was already deposited in my account yesterday. What a load of stress off my shoulders. So I zipped to Trader Joe's and got a lot of meat and veggies for me so I can stay on track! Woo Hoo!!!

Have a great day today, Meg and keep up the good work!

E - 1 mile walk with dog
B - coffee w cream, 1 egg
L - burger w/cheese, salad
D - steak, veggies
S - almonds

I love the new pic - you and your grandbaby look absolutely adorable! Sounds like things are headed in the right direction again. Keep thinking positive!

The snow wasn't so bad yesterday - we had about 6 inches fall the night before so the highway driving was fun - no visible lanes and a lot of crappy cincy drivers. Unfortunately the sleet and freezing rain started around 3pm yesterday and didn't stop, until it changed over to snow a little bit ago so there's an inch of ice everywhere. Mother Nature won today, I don't drive in ice. So I am working from home but have a doc appointment later today, which also means I get weighed, ugh!

My daughter was off school yesterday and today, and now I'm going to have her out for Disney next Mon - Wed then the following week they only have a 3-day week! Plus, yesterday was their last available calamity day, since all schools were closed in Oct. for 3 days due to the power outages from the hurricane that swept through the area. So they have to make up today at some point and we haven't even made it to February yet!

So here's my plan for today:
E: none, maybe later this evening
B: eggs, sausage, coffee, hc
L: chicken breast
D: shrimp

I'm trying so hard to be good, because I plan to have fun at Disney and not think about food, bad choices are going to happen. So don't worry about me returning to post, I'll need to kick my butt in gear immediately!

Well I'm off to do some work, take care and I'll check back later!

Of course, I've been so darn good because of my doc appointment today and now their office is closed! The whole freakin tri-state area is closed! Except for my bf's work, thank god!

Good morning! Sounds like you are just stuck! I'm glad you are one of the smart ones who don't drive in ice. There is just no job important enough to get killed over!

I had my Peace Corp interview yesterday and it went really well. It's a long interview, but really relaxed and really made me think about the 'why' I want to go so bad. He is going to recommend me to a program in Asia that departs in August. Also, Monday he will get a new list of programs available in Ag, so will have more to select from there too. This is really going to happen!

I do hope you dig out soon. I know how it feels to be stuck at home due to weather. Until then, relax and enjoy your daughter.

E - 2 mile walk, maybe a little billy
B - coffee w/cream, 2 eggs
L - burger w/cheese and salad
D - chicken and veggies

Have a great day!

Kat - that sounds awesome! But I'm going to be selfish here for a moment and say that it kind of sucks too because I'm sure you won't be able to keep posting here. BUT I am happy for you and it sounds like everything's going to work out!

We are mostly dug out, but the kids didn't have school again, hopefully they will on Friday! They really shouldn't have let us on the highway this morning because they were terrible but once I was out there I didn't really have a way to turn back - so onward I went!

Here's my day:
E: 30 min cardio interval
B: eggs, sausage, coffee, hc
L: eggs, sausage
D: broccoli and shrimp

Have a great day!
