Happy Easter
Good Saturday morning ladies.....and Happy Spring! I am sooooooooo ready for the warmer weather!
I splurged last weekend and boy did it put the weight on. I was up to 146 which did not set well with me. I got strict and am down to 140. Those last 5 pounds have been the worst as I can't seem to get rid of them. Once the warmer weather comes I will have no excuse as I will start back to walking and riding my bike as well as my total gym! There is a light at the end of this dark and gloomy winter!!!!! I have been getting compliments galore and let me tell you I have never been one to take a compliment. It is getting easier tho. I went shopping and the lady looked and saw that there was only a small in what I was looking at.....she said beings you are small it will fit....never in my life have I been called small. It sounded nice! It just gives me all the more reason to stick to my guns! The journey is definitely paying off! I am officially on spring break....no plans other than to get my hair done, am thinking about going shorter....but still not sure how short. The very thought of change scares me!!!!! Congrats to all those that are losing and to those that are stuck......Believe in yourself as the sky is the limit! I wish you all a nice and relaxing Easter. God Bless

DANG!! I'm UP 1.2 lbs. Dratted Fish Sandwich at BK!! Next Friday will be better since Lent will be over.
Kim...How do you like your Total Gym? Where did you get it? How much did it cost, AND how much room does it take up? I live in an apartment, but I do have some room in my bedroom if it's not too big. Appreciate any info you can give me. Here's something cute that a friend posted on another board. Maybe it'll give you a smile too. http://home.att.net/~solos_holiday/2008/_011/egg.htm It's colder here today than it's been in awhile....although it's not freezing. We are supposed to get rain this afternoon and I'm hoping it stays above freezing so it doesn't turn into an ice storm. YUCK!! Ya just can't trust Mother Nature. Never know what that old broad will do next. I will be on plan today, but NOT tomorrow. Maybe I'll wait a few days before I weigh. Yeah....right.....like I can stay off that scale. I must say, though that it does help me get back on plan before I do too much damage. ![]() Have a good day and a Happy Easter tomorrow in case I don't see you. ................![]() .

Cute link Judy! We had a BLIZZARD here last night!! UGHH!! 2 ft of snow at least!
Thanks Kim for the inspiration! I like the quotes in your sig a lot too!! I always go a lil shorter in the spring too, or lighter in color, change is good! ![]() I'm down 1.9 lbs this morning! And my TOM is coming to and end. Things are looking up!!! I went to a concert, danced a lot, and didn't eat or drink anything while there or afterwards. If only I could go to concerts EVERY night! I think it'd be a good workout program! ![]() |

BACK, Tina....So glad the surgery went well. When are you going to the Caribbean? I envy you. The only trip I have planned is to visit my sister in Southern Missouri sometime in May. I want to lose some before that too...so I am recommitting starting tomorrow morning. I had already planned to be off plan today. But tomorrow is IT!! Back on plan and staying there...at least until my trip. I am fairly careful when I travel, but not REAL strict. ![]() WE CAN DO THIS Last edited by Parisfox; 03-23-2008 at 09:17 AM.. |

Happy Easter everyone !
Tina -I am glad the surgery went well for you. I am awed you quit smoking. I have been trying to quit for a while but I have this thing in my head where I think that the moment i quit smoking I'd be pigging out on food. Browneyez - I am amazed at the amount of weight you lost. I really admire those who have discipline. I'm a slow loser but I'm getting there ![]() I have lost 3 kg (6.6 pounds) during the first week. Not an amazing transformation but a good change nevertheless. As long as I have people like all of you to inspire me to be better I know I can do it ! ![]()

Congrats to all you losers out there KUTGW
Tina congrats on the surgery and feeling better is it all right if I PM you and ask some questions about it ?? OK well one of you guys mentioned about a bus hitting them and stuff well didn't only fall off the wagon i fell off went flying down the hill hit a hard rock and now sitting here a little dazed. Man I am sooooooo mad at myself, I was doing so good for such a long time and i go and let myself ruin all the hard work i did and to top it off tons of people last night told me that I was losing weight and looking good - talk about some good motivation GRR Well I can now eat stuff .... that is until i go back for surgery in the middle of April but I am not going to let that stop me. AS of today it is on. I did this awesome last yet and now i am starting it wayyyyyyyy early so if I do all that I know I can then I only have good things to look forward to. I also got some people at work in on the good eating and stuff ... cause man nurses love there junk especially in the ER.

Good Monday Morning!
Good Monday morning one and all!
I hope each and everyone of you had an enjoyable Easter. I made a ham and used the splenda brown sugar and it turned out delicious. I manged to stay on track for the most part and was up a pound which I will take and get rid of ASAP! Parisfox-I got my total gym on ebay. I paid 450 with free shipping. It was one of those scratch and dent sales (I have yet to find one but hey the price was right)......they ended up sending me a Total Gym XLS which runs about 750....it has all the dvds and extras. I haven't used it much as I need to learn more about it. What I have done on it tells me it is going to be the answer as far as all the toning I have to do. I highly recommend it! It's size is big, but as they say on tv...you can fold it and put it under your bed, which I can see as doable. I did look on ebay and they are running a bit higher than when I bought mine. Just keep a watch and I am sure you can get one for what I paid! As I said they said it had scratches and dents and from what I have seen it looks brand spanking new, no flaws what so ever! I am sooooooooo looking forward to the warmer weather.....we had snow yesterday which just does not seem right beings it was easter. I wish you all a great week! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!! Life seems so much brighter.........being lighter! Take care one and all....as always be happy and keep smiling! |

Hope everyone survived Easter. I wasn't good, but I knew I wouldn't be. I am up 3 pounds, but with all the ham and sodium I ate I am sure some of it is water. I am back on track today, drinking tons of water and I will exercise tonight to flush out the system.
Browneyez - I always go with low-lights in the summer and lighter in the winter, not sure why I leave my hair long in the summer so I can put it up when its hot, then I cut it off to a bob in the fall and start all over. Cutepixy - Glad to see you post, I have severe TMJ, (both my disks are deranged) one of my disks if folded over, so I can appreciate what your going through. Nothing makes me meaner than face/teeth/jaw pain. Hopefully they will fix your problem in April and it will be over. Tina - Glad to hear from you, hope your recovery continues to go well. ![]() dr4g0nfly - 6.6 pound is awesome, just imagine that every week you will be transformed before you know it. KUTGW!! Paris- Thanks for the link I needed that this morning, I am tired. TOO MANY CARBS YESTERDAY ![]() Gilly- Congrats on the loss! To all your Losers, KUTGW we can do it. Kim....Thanks for the info. Could you give me an estimate on the amount of floor room it requires when it's set up? Just an approximation would be appreciated. Like (4 ft x 6 ft) or (3 ft x 8 ft) or ??? I wouldn't want to put it up and down. I do have some room in my bedroom, but I don't have a clue as to how big the total gym is. I have heard good things about it though.
Cat....I had a bad weekend too. I was UP 1.4 on Sunday (from Saturday) and 2.8 this morning (from Sunday) so that is 4.2 in 2 days!! .... Needless to say, I will be ON PLAN today. ![]() Tina...This is a great place for help and support. We CAN do this!! I am totally recommitted. Now with the nice weather (hopefully soon) I will be able to get out and walk some. That should help too. My menu for today will be a Protein Shake for lunch and a steak and a few green beans w/butter for dinner. ![]() Have a good day, everyone....WCBL Last edited by Parisfox; 03-24-2008 at 09:29 AM.. |

Good Morning Everyone!
Hope you all spent a GREAT Easter Sunday...It just feels a lot closer now! Well, I started with HORRIBLE cold/flu symptoms Friday afternoon, wasn't even able to go to mass, and I had it all planned I felt horrible twice... Saturday was spent in bed, with some medicine (liquid, NOT SF, but it was the only thing on hand) and finally yesterday I went to a family BBQ...temptations were BAD...but I was able to stay LC...then with my son's Easter baskets and all those yummy chocolates laying around the house, I went and bought some SF chocolate...(better than having the real ones, right?) so today I'm only up 0.4 of a pound...which isn't so bad...also probably water retention because of all the sodium in the meat...So let's not beat ourselves up over these few pounds gained, we have spring ahead of us! We still have time to look great for summer! Lets KUTGW! Take care! ps. Tina, so nice to see you back! Your new look should be enough motivation, you'll be looking great!

Good Morning!
Good morning ladies! Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
Parisfox-here are the dimensions of the total gym.....Free Standing: 18" x 7'6" x 4' (W/L/H) Folded: 18" x 8" x 4' ... I Hope that helps! Getting my hair done this morning.....still not sure how short I will go as the very thought scares me. I will get it highlighted for the summer and other than that who knows what it will look like. I am anxious to get it done! Up again this morning....think the ham did it to me as I have not done anything differently. No biggie as I am going to be on top of it until it is gone! I bought a swimming suit...actually 2 of them this past weekend. It is amzing the choices one has being smaller. I do need to get busy with exercise as the suits show my every flaw. Have a great week ladies......WE CAN DO THIS and together we have no reason not to! |

Good morning!!
Looks like Easter was still with me. I was DOWN just 0.2 of a pound. At least it wasn't more UP...so I'm happy. ![]() Am going out for lunch today with my DD. I'll have either a bunless hamburger or a grilled chicken salad. Then either just meat...or a protein shake and a boiled egg or two for dinner. Might not lose any, but shouldn't gain. And we gotta live. I do much better when I don't go out to eat...but it's impossible to avoid that altogether. Tina...I have posted shake recipes several times. I'm afraid everyone will get tired of seeing them....so check them out here: MEAT AND EGG, 3-5 Days or Until You Reach Goal***You Decide***MARCH 1-31 *** - Page 3 - Low Carb Friends The Pumpkin Pie ones are at the bottom. It’s Post #84. If you like Deviled Eggs, Post #63 on the same page has some good deviled egg recipes. Kim...Thanks for those dimensions. That is very helpful. And thanks for making it clear which is the Length. That makes a real difference. I am pretty sure I could fit one in my bedroom and not have to put it up and down. to everyone who checks in later....KUTGW, my friends. This does work, you know.....IF we work it. ![]() Gotta run....WCBL |

A few good hints....especially for those living alone.
Cooking for One…NOT!! Some tips on cooking for one (or 2). The way I beat the tedium of cooking for one is….I don't cook for one. I cook for 6-8 and then freeze in individual portions in vacuum pack bags. My vacuum packer is my best friend. I do 2 (yes, TWO) pot roasts at a time in my slow-cooker....when it's done I cut them into individual meal portions, pack, and freeze. I get broasted chickens from Sam's (either 2 or 3 at a time), cut, pack, and freeze. I pack the chickens a little differently....I take the meat off the back and wing pieces and save them for soup. I pack a whole chicken (cut up) together. 2 leg/thigh pieces, 2 half-breast pieces. That gives me enough for 2 meals and snacks....or 3 meals....or 2 meals and chicken salad...or 2 meals and breast meat for quick chicken soup. You could also pack 1/2 a chicken and have enough for just 1 meal and snacks or 2 meals. I do this with everything I can think of except steaks. Those I do as needed. But I vacuum pack and freeze them when I bring them home from the grocery. They keep for a year that way without freezer burn. I have even done hamburgers 6-8 at a time on the grill....then pack enough for a meal and freeze, although, I do like them better if cooked when I want to eat them. I do meatloaf with 2 lbs ground round, 1 lb of sausage (regular or Italian), 1 cup finely ground pork rinds (plain or Bar-B-Q), 2-3 eggs (depending on size)....that makes a pretty big meatloaf for one! After it has cooled, I slice....pack, and freeze in individual portions. I do quiches (see the recipe section)....cut in squares, pack enough for 2 meals, and freeze. I don't use the vacuum packer on quiches because they are too fragile. I put them in ziploc sandwich bags (squeeze out as much air as possible) and put those bags in a gallon freezer bag. This is the way I do soup too when I make a big batch. I put 1 to 1 & 1/2 cups (depending on the soup) in a ziploc sandwich baggie and then put those little bags in a big freezer bag. To "cook" dinner, my major "work" is deciding what to have. I just pull something out of the freezer the night before and put it in the fridge....OR I take something out around noon and put it in the sink until it thaws...just depends what it is. IF I am having a veggie (cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) I cook a whole bag at once and then just reheat for each meal. You could just cook one portion at a time if you don't want to eat the same veggie for several meals. When I'm eating salads I do make my salad when I want to eat it, but that's not really “cooking.” I do cook bacon/sausage & eggs to order like my steaks...but MOST of my meals are precooked, bagged, and frozen. AND when I bring home a 3 lb container of bacon, I put it in the ziploc baggies in individual servings (4 slices of the thick-sliced)...then put those in the large freezer bag. I don't actually "cook" very often. Hope these tips are helpful. ![]() |

Browneyez- good luck with the hair decision, just remember it will always grow back You are so right about swimming suits, they just show every darn thing.Paris- Thanks for the tips. I don't know whats different though last year i was able to do this with no probs didn't want to cheat and didn't cheat and now I am struggling so much. I just keep reminding myself how I felt and what I looked like when I was 180 last summer and how much I liked being that small and hopefully that type of motivation will help me out. Good morning everyone. I stayed on plan, exercised and didn't lose an ounce
. I am leaving in three days for Atlanta and I really wanted to get to the 120's before I left. I wouldn't even care if I left at 129.9 It would be a great accomplishment to get there, it has been way too long! Oh well, I am sticking with it, this WOE works and the weight will come off. Thanks Paris for the info about the Foodsaver, it will definately go on my list of "must-haves" ![]() Hope everyone has a great day and sticks to their plan. |

Good Morning Everyone:
I'm only down 0.2 of a pound I've been exercising non stop for 2 weeks...I only rested Saturday when I had my nasty cold...but have dropped SOOOO little is frustrating....This used to be so easy! I eat VERY strict, leaving cheese and creams out...even my DEAR Flax Muffin! lol CAT: I think as we get closer to goal, it just gets harder and harder! And the pounds don't seem to drop when you're getting ready for a trip! I still have 3 months before my trip to Puerto Vallarta, but at this rate, I'll be like 6 pounds lighter! LOL I know, I know...that's not the correct attitude, I just get so frustrated! I hope I start losing SOON....I was so comfortable at 135 for so long...and then I blew it, and I just can't seem to get back into the 130's (I'm 144!!!) It was so much easier to recover from cheats before...Ladies, it's definitely NOT worth it cheating...however inevitable that may seem... I'm missing MOMMIE22BOYS! She just had such beautiful humor...If you're out there, please come back soon! with as many pounds you may have gained or dropped, you're a great encouragement and are very much needed! GRACIE and CUTEPIXIE: I hope you ladies are feeling better... PARIS: Thanks for the wonderful suggestions... BROWNEYES: You probably look a lot better in your bathing suit than before...we're just more self concious. You're my inspiration! TINA: Hang in there, along with the tummy tuck, you'll look gorgeous this summer! Everyone I'm missing, a big hug and let's KUTGW! See you all later, Take Care! |

I was DOWN 1 lb this morning!! YAY!!
![]() I'll have an on-plan day today. Lunch will be a protein shake; Dinner will be Ribeye Steak and a lettuce/radish/celery salad with a little Feta and oil/vinegar dressing. I've changed my "hot chocolate" treat from 8:30pm to 2:30-3:00pm. I think having it earlier is helping. And I don't want to give it up. Not only because I really enjoy it, but the cocoa has such great health benefits....and it's YUMMO!! Congrats to any losers and Hugs for all those struggling... ![]() ![]() . |

good morning everyone
I hope everyone is having a good low carb day Eigna I know what you mean about this being easier the first time around as i am struggling with the same thing and have been for a few months. I hope everything starts turning around for you. I wonder though maybe your body is telling you that it wants a break from this type of eating??? maybe not being so strict might help you out. either way you've done awesome and you should be really really proud of where you are now cause you are an inspiration to many ( myself included ![]() well Id like to say that I was perfect with my eating yesterday but I wasn't I had a few chips and only a few before i cut myself off. I have gone strict but don't really want the carb withdrawal kicking in and me being all crabby at work. The chips didn't kill me and I am down 1 pound this morning to 200 (again ) lolwell i hope everyone has a good low carb day |

I am glad to see so many familiar faces.
We went on a Easter vacation trip. Did good with exersice but not 100 % eating. All I can do is try when we can not cook for ourselves. BF buffet was all carbed up so I skipped it. It is ok....I was still down in my weight from last week. I guess having a pool would be great for all day exersice... ![]() We brought back so many cooked eggs from the easter egg hunt that I am doing egg salad and deviled eggs for a while. Here we go.... ![]() Hugs! |
