....It varies....we are all different and we all work this plan differently....so the weight loss is different for everyone. It also depends on how much you have to lose. The more you have to lose, and the stricter you are with the plan, the faster it comes off.

Another sunny day AND it is warming up. Maybe Spring really will come this year. YAY!! I am SO ready.

Not much going on here today. Got some shopping to do. Will get my walking in that way. Other than that it will be a quiet day. After a very busy day yesterday, and the dreaded time change, I need one. I think I'll just settle in with a book when I get home.

Have a good on-plan day....I've got one planned.

to all the newbies. This is a great place to come to lose some serious pounds.

I am also in the "I did lousy this past weekend group" I was still under the weather so I just was looking for comfort food.

Back on plan today and am shooting for at 18 straight days on strick M/E. Heading to Atlanta at the end of the month to see an old friend and would like to have a few of these pesky pounds off. Ten pounds would be nice...all up to me though.

KUTGW to all those that survived the weekend and stayed on track
WE CAN DO IT, to everyone else just getting back on board

<-----(slinking in, with tail tucked under tightly)

I don't know what happened. I fell off the wagon today after work. Actually, it was more like, flew head-first off the wagon and into the whirling, swirling water below.

Not just a cheat. It was a what-can-I-eat?, what-can-I-eat? full-on binge. Well, it was a binge for me.

I'm confessing my sins here, so indulge me while I list the poison:

an Oopsie with peanut butter
1/3 of a container of whipped cream cheese (why???)
the dregs of a bag of sour cream/onion Lay's chips (no one can eat just one, right?)
2 slices sandwich cheese
1/2 a grilled cheese sammich dunked in some cr. of tomato soup
a bowl of sugar cereal w/ 1/2 & 1/2 (seriously?!?! 1/2 and 1/2?!?)
2 slices of bologna (I don't even like it that much)
some more peanut butter
topped it all off with a mini reece's PB cup
*if there had been more sweet *junk* in the house, I probably would've had that too.

It looks even worse now that I've written it all down. . .

<-----(ashamed)

I'm so stuffed I feel ridiculous. This was over the course of about an hour and a half. And I have no real reason for it. . .

I think I'm mad b/c I didn't make any headway last week and thought I had been really good. Also, DH is out of town for a few days, and I usually stress a bit about that. NOT excuses, just don't know where my head went.

I guess I'll just have to suck it up and have an egg day tomorrow to try to de-carb my poor body.

I'm so glad you guys are here. . .I would never make this confession to the girls at work. I'd probably get the old, "oh, it's ok," to my face and then a bunch of weird looks after I'd left, ya know?

You guys aren't making weird faces right now, are you? Please say no.

I really am so disappointed in myself. . .any suggestions as to my next move, or does an egg-day sound ok?

Whew....what a day. No matter what kind of day you do tomorrow, make it HIGH protein and LOTS of water. I'd suggest protein shakes, eggs, meat....just LOTS of protein and LOTS of water.

This too shall pass. And, NO, I'm not making any funny faces. Get back on the train...and hang on to me so I don't fall off.

Oh, and BTW....when I used to eat cereal, I ate heavy cream on it!!

Haha! Andrea, I've soooo been there after a long day of work!! My old job I never got breaks, like literally, and everything there stressed me out so much. It was hard NOT to come home and binge. I definitely feel for ya!!

I'm sure if you find recipes that you get excited about (ie cleo's cauliflower crust pizza and moz sticks, etc) and just prepare ahead of time, you'll be fine. That's my problem, planning ahead of time!! I finally made a huge batch of tuna salad where I threw in tuna, mayo, onions, finely chopped broccoli, cheddar, and parmesan. It's sooo good and helps me soo much when I just want to grab something!

Oh yeh, and tuna and eggs are like my secret weapon. Whenever my meals consist mainly of these two - I always lose! I'll do an egg day tomorrow with ya if you need a buddy!!

Good Morning Losers!

I was really good yesterday, ate on plan and even squeezed in an hour of exercise Love the way it makes me feel, but on the down side I could get my butt out of bed I didn't get a chance to weigh myself so I will check tomorrow.

Cutepixy: Hip bones!!! awesome, keep up the exercise it is so good for you, but you know that you are dedicated

Gillygum: I will have to try the tuna, I just can't imagine eating it without bread but I will give it a shot. Maybe smeared on pork rinds if I am really desperate for a crunch.

Mommie22boys: I am not making faces, because I have been there done that!! I always wonder if it is because I haven't taken my vitamins and my body is searching for something to fill the void . Parisfox if right, pick your self up, have a egg and water day.

KUTGW to all those on plan

Dont give up, to everyone that is struggling

Ugh! What the heck! I stuck very well with plan and was up 1.2 lbs this morning. So annoying. I use to lose at least .5 lbs a day on this plan. I don't get what's different now.

Good morning everyone,

Good Job Judy!!!

Hope everyone has a great day today.
I have decided to try carb/calorie cycling and see if that will help me get my metabolism straight. I think it is all messed up. If I don't exercise at least an hour a day, I gain weight. It doesn't matter how low on the carbs I go.... If I add a few carbs in to my daily food I gain weight. I don't know if I want just M/E the rest of my life....
I will do a high carb day 2 to 3 times a week and then M/E the rest of the time. I read the thread on it and found it interesting. I don't think it will hurt anything. My high carb days will still be the good carbs. No Sugar and white flours, just higher good carbs .....
I hope I can still post in here. I like you guys and this is a pretty active board for support.

Karin....Please, please, please....don't go away. We need your support too. And thanks for the encouragement. I hear you on having a messed up metabolism. I KNOW mine is...(partly due to some heart meds I have been on). I am trying to get it straightened out. I eat both low-carb veggies and VLC salads with full-fat dressings. It seems to help. I don't want my body to lose the capability of digesting veggies, that's for sure. I also have a protein shake almost every day for lunch. Of course, I don't do the "bad" carbs/sugars.

Strict M & E has it's place, but I can't imagine it being a WOL for the rest of my life. We each need to do what is necessary for us. M & E was started as a 3-5 day way to shock folks off of a stall, after all. Although, Lynnp has done it for 100 days in the past without any bad side-effects. She has much greater will power than I seem to have.

Anyway....keep on posting....we need people like you. Don't we gang?

Hey y'all

Big Red: I've cycled and cheated but always come back to M/E. It's a great way to jump start and get motivation. I've never had anything but support here. Just stay put sista!!!

I'm holding my own, been adding lc veggies. Also keeping up with the exercise which helps tremendously. We went snow tubing on Saturday night which was a blast. I definitely think I got a great workout walking in the snow.

Everyone have a nice evening!

Paris, Gilly, Cat. . .everyone, really: Thanks for the support, guys! I felt so lousy last night. FYI, I use humor all the time when I talk (and post, obviously). . . I think as a way to keep things light. That's just how I am. So even though I tried to make light of my little "episode" yesterday, I was really upset (disappointed, ashamed) last night. Thanks for your thoughts on how to proceed.

I did feel the need to punish myself this morning by stepping on the scale. I was up 1.8 pounds. Unhappy, but nothing like the 4 pound gain I had expected to see.

I ended up having a mostly protein day (so far). I had 2 coffees this morning; a dairy-free (well, there were egg beaters in it) protein shake for breaky/snack; lunch was 2 HB eggs and 6 heroin wings; after-school snack was 4 more wings. I've also gotten in half of my water thus far. I am planning to make Dottie's Burger Scramble for dinner. Do you think that's ok, or should I just go for some eggs and bacon/ham for dinner?

Thanks again, guys. . .you're the best.

I had a good on-plan day today...hoping for a drop tomorrow...or at least NOT a bounce UP.

What's "Dottie's Burger Scramble?"
Haven't seen that one. I am always looking for new meat dishes. If you do the eggs & bacon/ham, have some extra water because of the salt in that meat.

Beautiful day here today. Got to 66*. Now THAT'S my idea of a nice day. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice too...just a "little" cooler than today.

KUTGW everyone. WE CAN DO THIS!!

Paris: I'm a little jealous of your nice temps today. It got to about 45-ish here. The snow is still hanging on, which makes me happy, though, b/c the boys love to play in it so much.

Anyway. . .Dottie's Burger Scramble is in one of my cookbooks, but is also on Linda Sue' site. It's got ground beef, spinach, some chopped onion (I was lazy and used dried minced, though), cream cheese, parmesan and h&h. It's really delish. That's what I ended up making. . .served it to the boys with a side of cottage cheese. I like when I can LC the meal I'm giving them, too. I had a serving for dinner. I'm still full, so I won't be tempted by the kitchen tonight. I've also had 80oz of water today. I'll try to get in another 8-16oz before bed, still. I really don't need a 2-day gain (though I would deserve it!)

I realized tonight that I'm really not getting in enough fiber. That's a bad thing. Protein and fat, I've got covered. (lol. . .that's a joke, there.) So, I'm going to go back to my flax meal. I had stopped using it to see if it was hindering my weightloss. Unfortunately, I think I was the thing hindering my weightloss all along. I used to make a minute muffin everyday, or I would make a loaf of Spongebob's flax bread on the weekend and eat it throughout the week. I'm going to start having it again tomorrow, by sprinkling some on my lunch. I'll cut out something else if I have to, but I really need the fiber.

Well, I kept my dairy intake under control today, which I was determined to do in order to help combat "the incident" last night. We'll see in the morning how I did. <biting nails>

Have a wonderful night, everyone!

Whoops!! I almost forgot to say congrats, Judy, on your loss!! KUTGW!!

Good morning....

I was UP another 0.4 of a pound, but at least that could easily be a normal bounce. Will be on plan again today. Hope it goes back down.

Another great day coming up here. Supposed to get to 65*. Got to 70* yesterday. Spring is a comin'....and it's about time.

Andrea...I found the recipe for Dottie's Burger Scramble. It sounds really good. I'll be trying it.

Have a great, on-plan day...I have one planned. A protein shake for lunch...and meatloaf and a lettuce/radish/celery salad with a boiled egg & Ranch dressing for dinner.

See ya later....

Hey Everyone!

I've been VERY good lately and lost 1.6 pounds this morning. I walked/ran for around 50 minutes yesterday, and just feel so good when I exercise that I wish I had the will power to keep at it! The Puerto Vallarta trip is still awaiting confirmation today, but it's a 75% yes! But just in case, I have to firm up! So even if I don't go, I'll still feel good.

Mommie22boys: I would SO love it if I got to spend some fun days with you (or any of the other ladies here) at the beach! It's unfortunate I can't fit you in my luggage! About your binge, I can relate SOOO well....and I agree with Cat430....it's like your body is trying to compensate for what it didn't have during the day...(I read that somewhere else too) But as I always say....as long as you don't give up on yourself, you'll recover...

Gracie,Cutepixi, Big Red: Congrats on squeezing some exercise into your schedules! It's SOOO worth it!

Gillygum: 40 of the pounds I lost I did it eating eggs twice a day and then some type of fish with lettuce salad for dinner...Unfortunately, I started getting sharp abdominal pain 20 minutes after eating eggs...so I had to cut down on them and everything went downhill....It was just so easy taht way! I started incorporating eggs again, but just for breakfast and VERY well cooked.

Paris: I'm sure it's just a weight fluctuation....You've done great so far! I agree with you...this should only be used for a few days, and then tweak it to make it a WOL.

Newbies:

Everyone else I'm missing, Sorry! It's just too long!
See you all later! Take Care!

Hi Everyone,

I am getting married in less than two months and would love to join this challenge. My final dressing fitting is on April 21st and I would like to lose as much as possible by then. I have been trying on and off to lose weight for the wedding for the past 6 months, but I just keep falling off the wagon

Anyway, I've had a great day so far.
B: 3 soft boiled eggs w/ 1 tbsp ranch dressing
L: 2 cans tuna w/ 3 tbsp mayo and a little mustard

Not sure about dinner yet. I do have 3 more soft boiled eggs in the fridge, so I might just eat those and call it a night.

Question....I currently weight about 234, I've gained back about 10 pounds How much can I expect to lose on a weekly basis?

Good morning everyone,

Thank you for letting me hang out here. You guys are the best!!!!!

Now that I am carb cycling, today and tomorrow are my M/E Days (Very Low Carb). Yesterday was my high carb day. WOW!! I felt like I was really cheating but I was eating good carbs (I think) I had 2 oz. of Whole Grain Pasta for dinner (1 serving). When that was cooked, it filled my plate. I didn't realize that 2 oz. was so much!!! Needless to say I was stuffed after dinner....Now I am waiting for the scale to start climbing.... This is going to be hard but I really need to fix my motabalism....

Judy: OK, You don't have to beg. I guess I will stay in here...
Hang in there, the weight will start to come off again. I am loving your weather temps. It has been beginning spring weather here also. Nice temps but rain one day and wind the next, over and over...

Andrea: Dottie's Burger Scramble sounds very yummy. I will have to give it a try...I have heard that the Minute Muffins are good also. I never tried them. Can you post the recipe for those? Thanks...

Romanissima: Keep on a chuggin' and that 40 lbs. will melt off for you...You will be in that dream wedding dress before you know it...

Gracie514: Well, if you say it is OK to stay, I guess I will... I am doing my M/E Days today and tomorrow. The support is great in here and the people are even greater!!

great job on the 1.6 loss!!! If you keep going on the exercise It will start to come natural and will miss it if you don't do it. You need to do something you enjoy for exercise.

Virgo_17: Congrats on your wedding and welcome aboard!!!!

Hey All,
I want to join in I was trying Atkins Fat Fast 2002 version but think I want to try the M/E deal for a while and see what results I get.

I guess I have to start tomorrow since I've already had my macadamia nuts this morning and have some heavy cream left I want to whip up tonight.

A few questions do any of you use cream, sweetners or anything else other then M/E?

Are you counting calories and fat % ?

How much water are ya'll drinking?

For those who have done this before what do you do once the fast is done? Do you go to Induction?

I'm sure you will look HOT! Stick with ME until your wedding day, if you can. And, please DO NOT forget to share pics

I'm getting married soon too. We're going around telling EVERYONE who will listen, but I haven't gotten my ring yet

I have been so good that I am down a whole pound today I have yet to try that Firm DVD again but maybe tonight...

I have been trying to get the house caught up from being sick, it is such a struggle to get there if you have been down with a cold. I have more laundry than anyone should ever have I worked hard on the house yesterday, so my workout had to be put on hold. Maybe tonight I can squeeze it in

and to the newbies - This is a great place to get things going if you have hit a plateau. Some have lost 1/2 pound a day if they are really strict, so you are looking at 3-5 pounds a week maybe more. I drink tons of water, at least 80 ounces a day along with a coffee with splenda and half and half and one or two diet pops. I don't count calories and I try not to eat too much fat.

The person who thought up and put out Diet Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cherry is GENIUS. It is truly dessert in a can!!!

Crazy question...bought a bag of wings, have no idea what I am going to do with them...how do you gals prepare them?

Congrats Eigna on the loss- good to see you posting
Parisfox: You and me both, what bouncers...
Romanissima: I have been known to eat some crazy stuff, just to make it through...once in awhile isn't bad just dont make it a habit.
Andrea: Where can I find the Spongebob Flax bread?
Big Red: Glad to see you still posting.

Congrats to all the future brides! Stick with this and you will look great!

Morning Ladies!!!

I can't remember who posted the recipes for the protein shakes (I think Momof22boys??) but it was a winner!! The cream cheese really makes it thick like a milkshake...I added the strawberry energy crystal light to mine and it was like I had a strawberry cheesecake shake!! Wonderful! I can't wait for the warm weather to be sipping on these! Thanks!

Cat, I usually bake wings with Frank's Red Hot sauce or fry them in oil and toss them with garlic butter and parm cheese. They make for a real easy handy snack!
