Hello everyone CONGRATS to all you losers out there It seems like there are a ton of us that are doing awesome right now KUTGW

Well just quickly popping on thought that I would let everyone know that I am still on plan haven't cheated .... actually haven't wanted to cheat which is awesome. Going to the gym at work even though last night I had to be dragged there by someone else cause the last thing I wanted to do again at 4 am was to work out but I did it and today I feel great.
Don't know what I weigh and for once I am surprised that I don't care my clothes are a bit loser and I am fitting back into some of my cute skinny scrubs for work

hope everyone has a good low carb day

I don't worry about spices.....they are well worth any minute carbs to make this WOE palatable and doable.

I fry my eggs in Coconut Oil. Fat keeps you satiated...you don't need to go crazy, but don't skimp on it either.

I eat eggs fried, boiled, in omeletts, in quiches, and deviled.

Here are some of my favorite deviled egg recipes...especially good in warm weather (which IS coming...isn't it???) They are also good for quick snacks.

How to boil eggs the easy way....
Place eggs in a pan. Cover with cold water at least an inch above the eggs. Bring to a rolling boil. Remove the pan from heat and cover. Let stand for at least 20 minutes….longer doesn’t hurt. Drain. Either cool the eggs thoroughly in cold water…or refrigerate overnight. Peel eggs. Cut in half lengthwise. Separate yolks from whites and stuff with your favorite stuffings.

CLASSIC DEVILED EGGS: 12 eggs, 1 teaspoon paprika, 4 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon dry mustard.

DECADENT DEVILED EGGS: 12 eggs, 2 teaspoons dry mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon hot-pepper sauce, 1/4 teaspoon celery salt, 1/2 cup butter, softened.

BACON DEVILED EGGS: 12 eggs, 1/3 cup mayonnaise, 4 slices bacon (fried crisp and crumbled or finely chopped), 1 tablespoon prepared mustard. 1 Tbsp. bacon grease.

SPICY-ITALIAN DEVILED EGGS: 12 eggs, 2 tablespoons spicy-brown mustard, 2 tablespoons Italian salad dressing, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper or to taste, 1 teaspoon salt or to taste. Sprinkle finished eggs with paprika.

ZESTY DEVILED EGGS: 12 eggs, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 4 tablespoons finely chopped onion, 6 tablespoons dill-pickle relish, 2 tablespoon prepared horseradish, 1 tablespoon prepared mustard, salt and pepper to taste, and paprika for garnish.

SOUTHWEST OVERSTUFFED EGGS....10 servings
12 Hard Cooked Eggs
2 Tbsp Sour Cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (optional)
2 Tbsp spicy Salsa
2 Tbsp chopped green onion (optional)
1 tsp. cumin (or to taste)
Salt and Pepper to taste

Mash the yolks (and the whites of 2 eggs) thoroughly. (I run the 2 extra whites over a cheese grater, then use a pastry cutter to mash and mix.) Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Stuff yolk mixture into egg whites. Refrigerate until serving.

Well, for a day spent mostly at home (usually dangerous for me. . .too much kitchen access is a BADDDDD thing. . .), I think I did pretty well. After my hair appt I had a quiche cupcake for a snack. Dinner was 1 slice of Linda Sue's spinach lasagne and then I had (but didn't really NEED) a half-size protein shake for dessert/snack. Yum!

Tomorrow should be easier, as I'll be back to work and will only have access to what I bring with me. I'll have my coffee in the morning and then I'll bring my 1/4 cup yocheese for a snack, a big protein shake for lunch and a couple of HB eggs for a snack at the end of the day if I need them. Not sure what dinner will be, either something with chicken or a burger on my grill pan.

I think I'm going to make a run to the Vitamin Shoppe (20 mi from home) after work tomorrow. I've heard good things about the Jay Robb brand protein powders and want to check them out. So I called the closest VS and they carry a lot of them, and even the individual serving sized ones. I'm just loving my protein shakes lately, but don't want to get bored with the "same old, same old" ya know? Anyone use them and have a fave they'd like to suggest? I've heard they're awesome. Tx!!

Well, happy whooshes, everyone!

Good Thursday Morning!

Good Thursday morning Ladies! I hope your week has been a great one!

Angie-Just wanted to say cheer up as Tom will be gone just as soon as he came. I have a feeling he will be here to visit with me for a few days in the very near future! ICK!!!!!

I am slowly but surely figuring out my Total Gym XLS......I have been trying to do it at least 4 times a week. This body is in major need of toning. Once the weather gets a bit warmer, I will get back into my routine of riding my bike and walking. To know that spring is right around the corner makes me smile!

My weight is heading back down.....I am officially 3 pounds from goal. With Tom coming I don't see me getting there any time soon. Patience!!!!

Have a great rest of the week ladies! Congrats to all the losers and hugs to the ones struggling! Summer will be here before we know it and there is no time like the present to get this weight off once and for all!

Good Morning Losers!

So great to see everyone posting. I was great all day until I went to dinner with some old friends. We went to Carraba's, YUM. I ate a little pasta with sausage, a little salad, a little bread and few bites of a dessert we split. Funny but I wasn't ravinous about those carbs like I normally am. I didn't finish anything completely which is great for me. Today I was only up a meesly .2 ounces so it was worth it I suppose. Back on track today, need to get a few off before we go to Atlanta at the end of the month.

Hey everyone!

Day 4 of strict M/E for me and I can tell my appetite has suppressed. So far today I've had 2 hb eggs for breaky. Not sure what lunch will be but I have a beautiful roast in the crock pot for dinner. I browned it this morning before work and used garlic salt, salt, pepper, and parsley - YUM! I'll probably throw some mushrooms in when I get home and carrots for the kiddies. I also got my exercise in last evening so I'm pretty happy.

Cat: Sometimes you just gotta live, ya know? Only 0.2 ounces, no biggie! Just drink extra water today and you'll be right back down.

Kim: Only 3 pounds til goal ~ I am so PROUD of you!! You've really kept yourself accountable on this WOE. You are such an inspiration. I'm hoping I get in the same mind frame as you this year, I'm fighting the same 5 pounds every month

Lynn: 4 pounds is awesome! Just do the best you can where you are right now! Remember it's not a race but a lifestyle!!

Momm22: I'm like you, I do much better when I'm at work and have a schedule. When I'm at home the kitchen is much too accessible!! KUTGW!

Paris: Thanks for the egg recipes!

Cutepixy: WTG on the exercise!! I think that's a very important part of the whole weight loss process, plus it makes you feel GREAT!

Gotalose, Littlemiss, and Caribe! Thanks for the info on the Diet Cherry Chocolate Dr. Pepper...now I'm on a major treasure hunt!!!

So I had to eat something different last night for supper....I started gagging on my meal of meat and eggs......anyone else ever experience this? I ate some oatmeal with protein powder...I had to eat something that wasn't meat or eggs...I'm ok today. Oh and due to this change I went up 1 lb. today. Looking at the positive...at least it wasn't 10 lbs.!!

I'm so excited! I'm drinking a cherry chocolate diet dr. pepper and it is super yummy!! It tastes exactly like a cherry tootsie pop. It would probably taste good with some heavy cream and ice like a milkshake. It is very satisfying to drink as a dessert. Just thought I'd share!!!!

Well for me last night i had so many temptations and sadly i caved into some a little. We went out for dinner and hot fresh buns came to the table so I had one (whole wheat) and then at work someone brought in a bunch of dips and snack things well i caved a bit there to and ate some of the fruit ones thinking it wouldn't be bad but then gave into temptation again and had a slice of this cake I the only good thing was before I went to work I worked out and did a good hr of cardio and then cause I ate the junk I went back to the gym and did another hour of cardio at 4am ugggggggg felt great after it though I checked this morning and i am still in ketosis so guess i didn't totally kill myself .... tonight will be clean

Evening, everyone!

Just checking in. I was up .6 this morning. I'm not upset, though, as I weighed in yesterday a couple hours later than usual. This morning I weighed in at my normal 6:00. Not worried.

I stayed pretty much true to my plan for the day. I ended up going to the Vitamin Shoppe and getting some new protein powders to try. I couldn't resist having a 1/2 sized protein shake after dinner using my new cookies & cream flavor. Pretty darn tasty. . .It was totally satisfying and I'm soooo not hungry right now. And usually the evening is when I'm most likely to cave and have naughty things. Not tonight, though.

Cat: You asked about yocheese. It's just strained yogurt. Sort of reminds me of sour cream. If you've ever tried greek yogurt, it's like that. I am really digging it lately doctored up with 2 frozen chopped stawberries. I really should keep it for a treat. We'll see what tomorrow brings on the scale. If I have to get rid of/cut back on anything, for now it will be the yocheese.

Paris: Ugh!! I totally know the feeling! I just suck down the water and try not to be too hard on myself. You're still doing great!

Cutepixy: Sometimes the temptations really are too much. Hopefully your ketosis sticks!

Gracie: Glad you're enjoying that soda. Great job on staying strict!

Caribe: Sorry for your gagging experience. I've gotten tired of eggs before, but never had a reaction like that. Hope you're doing better now.

Lynnp: Great job on the loss! You go!!

Browneyez: How awesome to be so close to goal! And I know wat you mean about getting the body toned up before summer. It's nice to lose weight and have people notice, but having *flab* left behind is not exactly what I had in mind when I started losing weight. I gotta get back to the Y.

Gotalose: I think one of the main keys to success is being prepared with legal things to eat that you like. I generally boil up 12-15 eggs every weekend, so at least I can grab something quick when I need to. Just find meats that you like, even better if they're on sale, and stock up and then cook a bunch on the weekend. Throw a bunch of chicken on the grill or in the oven on Sunday, and you're good to go for several days. Take a few of the eggs and devil them for a quick snack. Make up a big bowl of tuna or egg salad so you can throw some in a snap-top container to take to work, or even just to have a spoonful of when you NEED to eat something in between meals. I get frozen angus burger patties that are ready for my grill pan anytime I want one. Chicken legs and thighs can be found for cheap and you can make up a big pack of them all at the same time in the oven while you're doing other things around the house. I also have protein shakes. . .some people on this board use them, others don't. They're a quick and easy meal and don't really take any prep-ahead or forethought. I hope this helps. . .there's really no set way of doing this. Just try what feels right and go from there, tweaking when you need to.

I'm happy to see so much activity on the board tonight! I hope that's a sign that we're all committed and are ready to lose what we need to. Woohoo!!

Well, KUTGW, ladies! Hugs to those out there struggling We'll get there!

Good morning...
I'm paying for caving yesterday! I'm UP 0.8 of a pound! And that's not the only way I paid. About 3 hours after eating the evil popcorn (6:00pm or so) I had so much gas and diarrhea that I was REALLY glad I was home by then. It didn't stop until midnight. I have NEVER had that kind of reaction to anything. And I "know" it was from the popcorn. I guess my system just rebelled at all that fiber and carbs. Serves me right!!

I've done "popcorn only all day" and this is the first time I gained from it. But I have never had that bowel reaction before either.
That should be a deterrent in the future. It was NOT fun. Today WILL be on plan....

I have seen that some of you do protein shakes. I have looked for threads on this and for recipes on the shakes. Do you use them as meal replacements or as a pick-me-up after workouts or for extra protein in your diet? Sometimes meat does get boring and it would be nice to have something different but I don't want to stall my weight loss. If you do have shakes does it stall you?

Thanks for some info on it, and if you know where there is a thread on them, please post it for me...

Thanks for some info on it, and if you know where there is a thread on them, please post it for me...
Big Red....I use shakes every day as a meal replacement for lunch...and occasionally for dinner....especially if I don't feel like cooking.
Since I live alone, I can get away with that!!

Here is my "usual" Shake Recipe post.
========================================

I make my own shakes. This might give you some ideas.

I use EAS 100% Whey Protein Powder. I get it at Sam’s Club for $28 for a 6 lb bag. That’s pretty cheap.
Stay away from Soy Protein...it messes with your thyroid.

I add cinnamon to all my shakes because it is so good for you and it enhances the flavor...of course, it is optional. They are still good without it.

I use 1 & 1/2 scoops of either strawberry, vanilla, or chocolate protein powder. I like and use the chocolate and vanilla WAY more often than the strawberry, and when the strawberry is gone I probably won't buy any more....so it'll be just the chocolate and vanilla. Here are some of the ways I make them.

Strawberry Protein Powder:
2 ice cubes, a splash of DaVinci's SF syrup, & enough ice water to reach the "fill" line on my personal-size blender (probably 6-8 oz)
1.5 scoops of Strawberry Protein Powder
1-2 tsp Cinnamon
2-3 Tbsp Cool Whip (Walmart's House brand has NO transfats)

I use mint, raspberry, cherry, etc. DaVinci's Syrup. Any kind that you think would go with Strawberry.
Mix in my Back to Basics Personal Blender

Chocolate Protein Powder:
2 ice cubes, a splash of DaVinci's SF syrup, & enough ice water to reach the "fill" line on my personal-size blender (probably 6-8 oz)
1.5 scoops Chocolate Protein Powder
1-2 tsp Cinnamon
2-3 Tbsp Cool Whip (Walmart's House brand has NO transfats)

I use instant coffee crystals & Kahlua Syrup for a Kahlua/Coffee shake.
Raspberry syrup and instant coffee crystals for a Raspberry/Coffee shake.
The Pancake Syrup tastes like caramel and is MUCH better than the caramel syrup.
Mint syrup for a Chocolate/Mint Shake
Coconut syrup for a "Mounds" shake
Coconut syrup and Almond flavoring for an "Almond Joy" shake
Cherry syrup for a "Chocolate Covered Cherry shake"

Vanilla Protein Powder:

Orange Julius Shake:
2 ice cubes, about 3 or 4 oz. Orange Crystal Lite (made according to pkg directions), & enough ice water to reach the "fill" line on my personal-size blender (probably 4-5oz)
1.5 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder
1-2 tsp Cinnamon
2-3 Tbsp Cool Whip (Walmart's House brand has NO transfats)
You can add a raw egg to this to make it more like a real Orange Julius. I never have...I don't like to chance raw eggs considering the conditions in most egg producer's facilities.

Pumpkin Pie Shake:
1 or 2 Pumpkin Pie cubes (recipe follows), about 3 or 4 oz. Orange Crystal Lite (made according to pkg directions), & enough ice water to reach the "fill" line on my personal-size blender (probably 3-4oz). The pumpkin cubes take up some of the room.
1.5 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder
1-2 tsp Cinnamon
2-3 Tbsp Cool Whip (Walmart's House brand has NO transfats)

Pumpkin Pie Cubes: I use 1 (29oz.) can and 1 (15oz.) can of pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie mix…that’s high carb). Put the pumpkin in a 6 qt. bowl. Sprinkle on 6 tsp (2 Tbsp) Pumpkin Pie Spice and 3 tsp (1 Tbsp) Cinnamon. Mix well. A large whisk works pretty good. Spoon into ice cube trays. Mine happen to hold exactly 2 Tbsp and this amount makes 2 trays (total 28 cubes). Freeze. When frozen, dump out of trays into a couple of quart freezer bags and put in freezer. Add one or two cubes to shakes as desired.
======================================

You are limited only by the syrups you have on hand and your imagination. The combinations are endless. I have Amaretto syrup, Vanilla, Raspberry, Hazlenut, Coconut, Creme de Menthe, Pralines, Raspberry, Cherry, can't even remember what all. Keeps me from getting bored with the shakes. Hope this helps.

The Cool Whip helps thicken the shakes as do the ice cubes. I LOVE the Back to Basics Personal Blender. Check it out at this link. I got mine at Walmart. Our local Walmart stopped stocking them and that scared me so I got a couple replacement ones online at Walmart. They are less than $20 with free shipping to "store pickup." Can't go wrong. They are more expensive everywhere else, and I'd hate to be without one. Clean up is SO much easier with one of these than with a regular full size blender.

Stay faithful everyone !
10 lbs a month is VERY doable on M&E. Just be sure to drink enough water to flush the fat. You need 1/2 ounce of water for every pound you weigh. Not what you want to weigh...what you weigh now. Sometimes it's hard to drink that much water...especially if you live where it's still cold....but it's worth it.

WOW!!!! Thanks Parisfox!!!
I think the shakes will add a little variety to my diet. We don't have a Sam's Club, do you think Wal-Mart has the EAS 100% Whey Protein Powder. I will be going there this week-end. I will be ordering that personal blender too!!!

Thanks again

Hey everyone! So, after 2 weeks of doing realllllly well with LC, I lost 5 lbs. Then yesterday, went off LC shortly when I was staying at my aunt's, but still did exercise. I figured I'd probably go up 1-2 lbs., but instead, gained ALL 5 back!!
Super frustrating! But I'm going to be eating M&E for the next few days, with a FEW green veggies, and hope that the 5 come off just as fast as they came on!

^Happened to me. Did LC for like three weeks, high-carbed (around 200g) for a day, and everything I lost - 7 pounds - came back!

Hey Everyone!

I'm so glad to see so many people posting! And all those interested in joining too! It's a great decision!
My weight has stayed the same these past days, T.O.M. is still here and I've been eating LOTS of Sugar Free Treats! I'm almost done with the treats, so hopefully I'll start losing soon...
Maybe we'll be going to PuertoVallarta in July, so that would be a GREAT challenge to lose another 20 pounds...in 4 months, if I get serious again, it should be possible...just coming here will keep being great motivation...I'll let you all know how it goes!...Don't have too much time right now, will talk to you all later, have a great weekend!
