Worked out at the YMCA again for 30 on the elliptical and 20 on the treadmill.
I think my weight will be up tomorrow because of starting to workout and high sodium today, but that's okay.

It sucks when you retain water from sodium, but the good thing is.. your weight is usually down in like 2 or 3 days from that.

Hey everyone! I've been terrible about posting lately Things have been going well. Basically the same as Rae (Rachael aka dietsprite) since we pretty much eat the same menu and work out together. Starting tomorrow I'm going to make sure I visit this thread at least once every other day if not every day, no more long absences for me.

Hi guys!

Ok, menu today did not end up being very different
B: oatmeal w/banana
L: sf pudding, veggies w/butter
S: grapes, banana
D: probably more veggies, I am going home for Easter weekend and won't get there til later. I probably won't feel like cooking anything..

Exercise today: 5 minute warm up jog, 20 minutes of HIIT, and 20 minute Turbo Jam workout. The HIIT kicked my butt the past 2 days!

HIIT = high intensity interval training

You could do it running, on a treadmill or elliptical or even a bike. You basically warm up and then some people do it at their absolute maximum for maybe 30 secs to 1 min, and then they do it at a slower pace for a min, then they go all out again for 30 secs to 1 minute. I tried to it before I found my workout just dragged on forever cause I had to constantly be looking at how long I was doing each interval for.

Yep, what Laura said.

I have just recently started HIIT again. I am going to try and give it another shot and try a little harder. I go alternating minutes of 5.5 mph (a slow jog) and 7.5 (right now that is my speed at which I am basically out of breath after a couple of minutes so it seems like a good speed to start at).
I'm hoping I don't end up having a big problem with this though. I have pretty bad back problems and I can't run too fast or I will crank my back. Especially on hard cement.

Anyways...

Menu today:
B: peach oatmeal and banana
L: bowl of veggies
D: not sure yet...

Exercise: 5 minute warm up jog, 25 minutes HIIT, 15 minutes bike

Hope everyone is GREAT!!

I'd like to join in if that's alright!

My name's Amanda and I'm 26. I started low-carbing back in August of 2005 when I weighed 250 pounds. In March of 2006 I was down to 190. Then I was 224. Then I was 195. And so on and so forth.... I am tired of yo-yoing and realized that LCF really helped me stay on track, so here I am.

I would be happy to be 190 again, in a size 10/12. I started my new WOE yesterday (coincidentally coinciding with the first day of spring!) at 233 pounds. I am going to be doing Atkins because it's what I know best and I know it works for me, but I have some leftover Medifast (low calorie meal replacement) shakes that I need to get rid of so I will be drinking those too. I would like to get back down to under 200 pounds by June 1st.

Thanks for having me!

I'd like to try HIIT sometime, but I need to find a really good pair of shoes for jogging/running. I have no arch thanks to years of wearing flat shoes (Converse, skater type shoes), so whenever I run/jog for too long, the bottom of my feet feel like they're on fire, so my calves start to burn, too.

Today I did TJ Cardio Party Mix 2.

My menu:

B - tablespoon of PB
S - couple pepperonis
L - serving of Dreamfield's pasta with alfredo sauce, sirloin steak with ketchup
S - vanilla yogurt
D - chicken with cheese and salsa, salad with cheese, pepperoni & ranch dressing, broccoli with butter

Welcome Amanda! Post often. We can be a chatty bunch.

Hi Bav and Laura, thanks for the warm welcome!

Today I slept in and had to run off to the laundromat before work so I had pepperoni and cheese for breakfast with my coffee and a litre of water. Now I'm off to work ... will take a big salad for myself. Work is my biggest obstacle - because the staff can eat in the dining room so they are always trying to shove big starchy dinners and desserts on me. As long as I can resist all of that, I'll be okay.

Hope everyone is having a nice long weekend!

Wow, I was so off today

Here is what actually happened!

Menu:
B: peach oatmeal and banana
L: handful of Kashi
D: chicken and walnut salad, tomato bisque, cheese dip, and some pumpkin bread

Exercise: 5 minute warmup jog, 25 minutes HIIT, 15 minutes bike

Tomorrow is going to be horrible food wise. I have been relatively good the past week though so I'm not too worried about it.

We are having a big Easter brunch that I have decided to just go ahead and enjoy: potatoes, pancakes, sausage/bacon, french toast, etc etc..

Happy Easter everyone!

I'm setting a goal to workout 30 min 3-4 times per week this week I'm keeping it easy so that I know I will defiantly make the goal and continue!

freshstart08 I just started about 10 days ago and have lost 7 lbs, so far...

Today has been a weird day for eating. I just haven't been hungry.

My menu so far today:

B - South Beach Diet meal replacement bar
S - serving of pepperonis, some crackers
L - chicken with cheese and salsa, butter with broccoli and salad with cheese, tomatoes and Ranch dressing
S - vanilla yogurt, 2 tablespoons of PB

I'm eating lunch so late that it's almost considered dinner, so I'll just get some low carb snacks in later in place of what I've missed today.

For my workout I did the Turbo Jam 20 minute workout as well as Walk Away the Pounds walk/jog (35 mins)

akm - Thank you for the welcome! I know I will lose the most weight in the first month, which is always encouraging.

No easter dinner for me today, as I am working, but I had coffee and a medifast shake for breakfast, stirfried chicken and mushrooms for lunch, and will have roast turkey for dinner with some vegetables.

Thats exactly what I'm doing. I go to the gym 4 times per week, at least 30 minutes each time. I either go on the elliptical, treadmill or bike. (or a combination of 2 or 3)

I'm going to try out turbo jam on my non-gym days because of the hot mamas in this thread got me interested in it.
