Pete- I'm sorry to hear you've been ill, but congratulations on doing so well on you presentation.
Amber- Welcome!

I'm glad everyone else seems to be doing well.

I worked out today for about 20 minutes. Not as much as I wanted to do, but tomorrow after class I'm planning on heading to the Y and using the pre-core machine and the treadmill.
My eating was okay today and I'm drinking lots of Crystal Light since it's easier for me to drink than plain water. I just ran out though, so I'll have to switch to water until I can get to the store.

I don't know what I'd do without Crystal Light. It seriously helped me give up pop. People are like, "oh, don't drink that, it has aspartame, it's bad for you" Psh, forget a bunch of that. It hasn't affected me any. Supposedly people get headaches, cravings, etc, from drinking it.. but I do not.

Laura- Congratulations!

Today I worked out at the Y. I did 28 minutes on the elliptical machine and 20 on the treadmill. I did both at a fast pace, so I felt like it was a great workout. I plan to go tomorrow night and Wed. night after class. And possibly Friday.

We stopped by the Vitamin Shoppe tonight and got 3 samples of Jay Robbe's whey protein powder. We got chocolate, strawberry and tropical dreamcicle. We've been having soymilk and sugar free/fat free pudding mix smoothies in the morning, but if we like the protein powder we may use that instead of pudding mix, since it's a lower carb option and may be more filling. I plan on trying chocolate and strawberry tonight after dinner, and the tropical one tomorrow.

If you like(d) blended frappuccino drinks... try this---mix in some espresso (or coffee) along with the protein powder, some of your soymilk (or a little heavy cream), some SF Davinics (i.e. vanilla, chocolate, caramel, etc...) and ice. Blend, enjoy!

Hi guys How is everyone doing?

Menu was the same as usual today-- won't even bother posting it

Exercise today: 15 minutes elliptical, Turbo Jam Cardio Party (40 mins)-- good workout today!

Laura- when you do TJ, do you find it difficult (in itself AND in remembering to do it) to do the "turbo tuck" the whole time? I just don't think its possible. Sigh. Oh well, I know either way I'm getting a good cardio workout because I sweat up a storm! Maybe I'm just not reaping all the muscle building benefits..oh well If I do it for too long my back starts to hurt too-- I fractured my back a few years ago and have herniated discs now so it kinda bugs me. Just wondering though-- its not a big deal, just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem

I didn't end up doing TJ today. I was too dang tired, so I took a nap and did a 2 miles of WATP.

My menu for today:

B - vanilla yogurt
L - salad with tomatoes, pepperonis and Ranch dressing, vanilla yogurt
S - couple sausage links and a few pepperonis
D - bowl of broccoli with butter, low carb pizza on low tortilla with cheese, pepperoni and sausage
S - tablespoon of PB

I try to, but it doesn't always happen. I do feel that sometimes I'm not getting all the benefits because I can't always maintain the tuck, and I know its especially good for your core. I can keep the tuck on like the jabs, crosses, hooks and punches, but everything else.. I kind of struggle with and I try to do it as much as possible. And sometimes I'm not even sure if I am doing it right or not. It's A LOT easier to do it in Ab Jam, cause you're actually focusing on keeping the tuck position and not doing the workout that fast. It's especially hard to keep the tuck when you're doing like the knee stuff. It also hurts my lower back too, if I do it for too long. I don't really have back problems, so to speak.. but if I do something for too long like that.. I feel discomfort in my lower back.

Yeah I hear ya, I can maintain it when I am really concentrating...but I find that when I am concentrating THAT hard, I miss other things and get all thrown off

I don't even see how they maintain the tuck on kicks and all that!

I'm not THAT coordinated. I'm lucky to be able to master some of those moves. And let me say that my right side is okay, but my left side absolutely SUCKS when it comes to doing those zig zag knees and basically anything where you have to do the crosses and then lift your left knee. I always lose my balance, but I am getting better.

I think TJ alone is a good cardio workout, so I'm not TOO concerned with keeping the tuck, although I do try and do it when I know I can do it.

K, good to hear I'm not the only one. I figure, hey at the very least I am getting a great cardio workout....and I have to be getting SOME benefits from the moves.

Hi guys,
I tried the Jay Robb protein powders in chocolate, strawberry, and tropical dreamcicle. I thought they were good, but not as good as the sugar free/fat free pudding mix we'd been using. However, the carb count is way better, so we went and bought a 24oz of the vanilla whey protein from the vitamin shoppe tonight. I made a smoothie with it, splenda, ice and unsweetened soy milk and it was great! So I'm glad to find that the vanilla flavor is so good.
We also went to the Y tonight as well, did 30 on the eliptical, 20 on the treadmill.

I think exercise in general will help you. I've been exercising since the day I started LC'ing, so I can't tell you what really works. I've done a combination of things: elliptical, walking, weight lifting (that only lasted about 2 weeks), Turbo Jam. I have definitely noticed I've gotten a little more toned since I've gotten back into using Turbo Jam, though. Although I'm not really flabbby so to speak, just got some fat.

Yeah..well I before TJ I was in the gym everyday, either treadmill or elliptical. I ran outside in the summer. So exercise is my #1-- since I am at goal, I basically exercise so once in a while I can eat whatever

Hi everyone!

I have to vent. The people around me at work are RUDE!! If they're passing out sugary treats (doughnuts, candy, cake, etc.) and I say 'no thanks' they make a big deal out of it. It's not like I'm saying bad things about what they're passing out or anything. Yesterday one of them asked me if I wanted a candy bar, I said my usual 'no thanks' and he replied with--"WHY, because it has SUGAR?!" loud enough so the entire department could hear. He is the type of person that needs attention from others, so of course he kept talking about it until everyone was either listening to him or laughing at me. I don't understand why some people have to be so rude!!

GRR!

I'm at 211 this morning, oh well. I went to the gym for 45 minutes last night, bike and elliptical.

I hope everyone has a nice day

I'm sorry they're treating you like that. But once they see the difference the weight
