I have been exercising for 1 hour a day.. Doing what I want and enjoying doing it. I have a pear shape body with huge but and thighs, so it see like it is harder to loose in those areas.

I am trying to exercise my way through stress instead of eating... AT 170.4 lbs I would love to see 150 by July.... My dream is 140 but I have not been there since HIGHSCHOOL....

Afternoon!

I just finished a great OP (on plan) lunch! Now I'm having my dessert, vanilla caramel truffle TEA! This stuff if delish! If you need something sweet after eating you should try this tea. I love it.

I am up several lbs and 4 days of mostly off plan eating. I am back on track today and this weight will come off!

Bethin - I'm w/catne the cals seem awful low.

GME - wee-beasties, indeed! I'm am still washing and cleaning stuff.

Have a great OP week, challengers!

Meekness, glad to hear from you again...hope your recovery went well.

BeThin, your workout sounds energetic. And I know what ya' mean about measuring, it gets to be a real hassle...I'm so lazy I measure once into a dish with squiggly lines in the pattern of it--then next time I just fill to the same squiggly line in the pattern to avoid getting out the measuring cup. My DH thinks I'm goofy for insisting I have to use the same dish--he doesn't realize I'm making it double as a measure!

Good luck on getting to the 140's, you can do it....you're not that far from it now, really. I wish I was that close to goal!

Tina, is that vanilla caramel truffle tea the Lipton kind in the triangle bags? I've been using the strawberry/passion fruit kind (it's delish brewed hot & then iced) Been wondering how that vanilla one tastes...

Where's our founder? Haven't heard from 207, who started this thread. Hope he's not sick with all the horrible crud that's been circling the country for the last month...there's some rotten nasty bugs out there.

I'm down another pound! Food has been good, not much else to report.

Be Thin, great idea on exercising through the stress. It really is better, eating junk just adds the stress of eating junk to the stress you already had. Why don't I remember that???

I know the calories look low, but it is hard to determin portion control on some foods. I am sure they are higher than what they look.

ON the up side.

I broke my long lasting stall.... I have lost 2 lbs... I really think the fitday and 1 hour of exercising is working for me.

Good Morning to my May challenge pals!

I added some lemon juice to my water this morning. Yummy. The SB book said that lemon juice, since it is acidic, will help you feel full longer because it slows digestion. I figured it was worth a try. I used a lemon concentrate and not a real lemon. Hopefully it works the same.

Today my DS12 makes his acting debut. He is in his school play and today is dress rehearsal/performance for the elementary school. Then he has a performance for the next 3 days. The play is Willy Wonka. He is playing the candyman and he is an oompa loompa. He has no lines for the oompa loompa part but has singing solo's. He got the candyman part because another kid never came to practice. He is SUPER excited. I'll post pics after his saturday performance!

BeThin - Are you doing atkins? by the book? not judging, just asking?? Maybe you could try to add some fat, like EVOO or butter, or something to up your cals a little?? WTG on the 2 lbs, that's awesome! If you are using fitday you can change the portion size to whatever you need it to be. It's been a while since I've used it, maybe someone else w/more experience w/it can chime in!

Catne - it sure is the lipton one! It is super delish! I might have to give the passion fruit/strawberry one a whirl! I also like the bigelow brand vanilla caramel one, but I like the lipton one best.

GME - STRESS! aaggghhh! Gets me almost every time. My DH told me on Saturday that I needed to learn a new way to deal w/it cause I eat and then get frustrated cause I ate LOL. (This is when we were dealing with the wee-beasties and thinking DS12 had ANOTHER broken bone, he didn't thank goodness)

I'll check back with you all later!

GME-that is SOOO true! & Congrats on the loss...we're doing it, challenge partners!

BeThin--gotta love the stall-breaker: your personal plan is working! Congrats on the loss Know what ya mean about the irritation of having to watch calories too--my hypothyroidism meds are getting tweaked again so the only thing working for me is doing Stillman's QWL (very low fat, almost zero carbs & lean protein. Boring, but it works.) Figure if my metabolism can't be "by the book" then my methods for losing can't be either (might have to write my own darn book!)

Tina-my Mom swears by the lemon juice in the water...she's done that for years & years. I think she originally got the idea from a weight loss clinic about 25 years ago. And thanks for the tea recommendation...I'm picking up some of that tonight! Sweet tooth is mostly under control with Atkins/Stillmans, but still, every now & then I get a craving for a little something: this tea would qualify as a "little something!"

Meekness, how ya doin?

We're having a 2nd beautiful WARM day here in central USA (high in 60's). Loving it--makes my dog-walking a lot more pleasant! Now I'm looking forward to the greening up of everything (at least for a little while--until I have to mow or pull weeds!)

Have a great, cheat-free, on plan, meet the challenge Day, all

Hey guys & girls! I had another good OP day yesterday. Walked on the treadmill for a bit. Not long enough, but it was a start!

catne - Oh, how I wish we were have 60 degree weather. It's closer to the 40s here. Better than it has been, but not as good as I want it to be!

BeThin & GME -

I'll check back later!

Tina, I was doing ATKINS BY THE BOOK.... I was losing 1 pound to 2 pounds a MONTH... This just was not good.... SO, I started counting calories on fitday and NOW I am losing the way that the Atkins plan saids I should. I have butter adden to the eggs when I eat them... This is why I say the calories are more than what they looks like because there are a few little things I just forget to add to the fitday program. Yesterday I had about 1200 calories, not counting my oils or butters..

I am finally losing.. So for me this solves my problem for now.. I am still concern about portion control and if I can be in a party or dinner situation and eat correctly.

The exercising has made a huge difference. I am shocked at how much looser my clothes are feeling now that I have uped the exercise.

I would have never made it this far if it had not been for friends here on the board.

Lemond in the water is great!! However, I have been making the flavored tea's and putting it on ice. Talk about GOOD and TASTEFUL..

Happy Saturday...Roll Call Day

It's weigh-in day...looks like I'm on first today, so I'll start. Down 2 more lbs. for week of 3/8-3/15 so still on track for my Disney vacation! Since we finally have some warmer weather, I've added walking to my exercise routine (doing 10 minutes of exercise program, 60 min. on recumbent stationary bike and now 15 min. walking.)

Mrs. I, menu looks like a winner for losing.

BeThin, love those flavored teas over ice-I use them as a replacement for my diet soda (I quit because artificial sweeteners seem to stall me.) And I hear ya' on Atkins/losing 1-2 lbs. a month...Lordy, if I stuck with that, it would take me more than 10 YEARS to lose this weight! So I'm using Stillman's to lose, and Atkins as a reward!

Tina-it's Play day, right? "break a leg" to your son...my youngest graduated high school last May...3 of 4 were active in the school Plays & Speech/Drama through high school. That is one thing I miss now that's she's in college-seeing those school productions. I always was amazed how much talent kids have, and how much the teachers manage to get out of kids. Have fun, and post pics if you can!

John, my fellow Disney-bound challenger How you doing?I know you originally said you'd be going 2 weeks betweeen weigh-ins, is this your week?
Let's hear from you!

GME, I know you were down earlier this week...how's the rest of your week going?

Did I miss anyone? Well, good luck to all on upcoming week...we can do this!

Its great to see everyone doing so well. It makes a difference to have a short-term, achievable goal and folks pulling with you to get there.

My week is going well weight-wise. I weighed in at 228.5 this am, down 4.5 pounds this week. I know it won't last forever at that pace, but I'll take it as long as I can get it.

I've been exercising about 3x week and food has been good. I've been stirring a little CO and Carb Countdown milk in my coffee in the morning and taking yogurt with protein powder mixed in to work to eat at 11:15 for breakfast. We had a potluck at lunch yesterday and after that yogurt, I didn't have any trouble staying on plan. My big splurge was two slices of watermelon. It seems to help me make better choices in the evening too because I'm not starving when I get home.

We have our cabin reservations for Yellowstone and are planning kayaking, a float trip, hiking and general sightseeing. We may do some horseback riding too and the website says there is a weight limit of 240 to spare the horses. It feels good not to have to worry about being turned away or torturing some poor creature.

Hello Ladies
Sorry I've been quiet---computer problems have made for a tough couple weeks
I say Hello Ladies because I think I'm the only man in this challenge I started unless someone can prove me wrong
Either way I love the company and you are all doing fantastic
As for me I'm down another 5lbs since the last weigh in soooo things are good I've also started lifting some weights a little sooner than I thought I would---gotta tone while I lose
Well now that the computer seems to be working again....I'll be more active on the site but I won't weigh in again for two weeks.
Cathy---Thanks for noticing I was missing
Keep up the good work--and go easy on St. Patrick's Day---whole lot of temptations associated with that
John

Sorry
I put my weight loss for the roll call but failed to note that it brings the total so far to 12lbs That means only 18lbs to go for this challenge. I'm tempted to up the ante but smart enough to know there's a tapering off stage.
BTW the 207 stands for the weight I want to eventually wind up at. None of you may know but at my heaviest I was 325lbs Don't ever want to be there again
It's an ongoing battle of ups and downs but I've been able to stay pretty constant where I'm at but I need to really get focused to get to the next level. As you know we tend to get comfortable with the weight we've lost and deservingly so but I know the reward for getting to my goal weight will be the ultimate accomplishment...so until then gotta keep on fighting WE CAN DO THIS

I'm still bouncing around 228.5 but I feel like I've had a victory of another kind.

We are having budget problems here in CA and I came home yesterday to a layoff notice in the mail. I had a message from a friend I hadn't talked to in a while so I perked up and returned her call. She had called to tell us a dear family friend had died. Then we found out our 3 yo niece is in the hospital.

Ugghh. It was not my best day... but I did not cave and eat junk. I didn't even really want to. We had a meeting today to talk about the budget cuts and layoffs and the principal brought out a bunch of candy and cookies and I didn't go near the table . She raffled off chocolate bunnies and I didn't put my name in (I didn't even want to bring it home to my kids- they don't need it either).

I just have to remember it will all pass and nothing will be helped by a chocolate egg.
