Soooooooo..... That's it.

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. See why it's so important for us to "bounce" off each other?

Pear, how are you doing today?
I feel much lighter and freer too. I was walking around doing some errands today, and just enjoying feeling good about my body . I really like this oldies and newbies mix .

Tooter and Ailuros,

You know....beauty begins on the inside!!!! You both are beautiful....inside and out!!!!

Body image is a psychological game. I know some VERY overweight people that are comfortable in their own skin, and it is obvious in every thing that they do. They carry themselves with conviction, and there is just a positive ora about them.

The two of you are anything but heavy, and I feel that your "healthy" weight would be where it is easier to maintain. Bouncing on and off the same 5-10 pounds is not good for you....no matter what your weight is. Plus, you are both in your healthy ranges. So, smile...and live a little. I'm proud of the both of you!!!!

You're absolutely right, of course, and if I were talking to somebody else, it would be obvious to me too, but it doesn't stop me getting caught up in this stuff every so often. As Tooter said, that's why it's so good to have people here to talk to and get a bit of perspective when it's needed.

That's another reason I think the mix is good - you can see that we only have all the answers when it's somebody else's problem .

I think that is true for everyone.

It's always easier to analyze, and come up with solutions for someone else....versus ourselves!!!!

I'm setting my new goal as 115 - 119. That feels like a range where I'll be happy with the way I look, and it should be easy to stay there .

I told him that I thought that he should finish this semester here, and then, we should either get him into the main campus with dorms, or he should come to Minnesota, and complete his degree there. He said that he will see how things go here. KIDS!!!! They just don't realize all that it takes....we can't just wait, and "See how things go". There is alot to do with "ANY" changes, and many things just can't be done last minute.

Last night my youngest, and I, were joking around. (Hopefully, Mom and Dad didn't hear us...we got a little mean!!!) He said..."I can't wait to have my own little room again." Then, I said,"I can't wait to take a shower whenever I want." He said, "WELL...I can't wait to not have to worry about waking someone up if I need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night." I said, "I can't wait to get a good night's rest." This just kept going on and on.....and on!!! Then, we laughed.

Good morning everyone ..... beautiful day here in sunny Florida and it should get into the 80's but next week down to more normal temps for this time of year - in the 70's.

Second day on my WOE even though I set Wed. (Ash Wed.) to weigh to see how much damage I did last year.

I wanted to share this story with you on our daughter. After one semester of college she came home and said she wanted to quit. My husband (who has two degrees) told her to get in the car and I could come along with I wanted. I didn't know what he was up to - but quickly found out. He drove her right down to the Army recruiting office and told her to get out of the car and sign up. I could have killed him - but he said "don't worry". She also told her before she went in that "if you think you are slinging hamburgers the rest of your life you've got another guess coming."

After being in the office for one hour she came out to the car crying and said "I want to go back to school." She now has her degree and even went on for her Masters.

He told her when she was wanting to quit that if she did get her diploma "No one could ever take that piece of paper away and she'd be set for life." You would not believe how many times she has told that story to her friends and is now using it on her step-daughter.

How tall are you? I'm 5'7" and when I got to 126# I looked like a bubble head - where my head looked bigger than my body. Now I set my goal for 130# - which is more realistic for my height and age.

Your husband sounds like a doll --- isn't it great when they get so involved in our success?

I'm 5' 2". It seems that most of us manage to overshoot a bit, then correct to something more realistic, doesn't it?

I'm very lucky that my husband encourages me and supports what I'm doing. Even when I'm sticking to it and he isn't, he'll be pleased for my success, and he manages to do it in a way that suggests he appreciates the improvements, without ever making me feel that he is putting any pressure on me to be a particular size.
