Good morning...everyone!!!!

Ailuros....glad to see that you have the sunshine!!!!

You must have wished the snow away...and sent it here.

We live right by Lake Michigan, and we're getting dumped on. First the initial snow, now...the lake effect stuff. Cancelations everywhere!!!! My youngest has a snow day today. That makes two of them for this week. He was so excited about it...he couldn't go back to sleep. Here...when there are too many school days, they have to make them up at the end of the year....and he knows that we won't be here. So, he hopes for snow every night. Kids....!!!! It is snowing so much, the college that my oldest attends is even closed today. He "COULD" go back to sleep...he's my sleeper.

He will prolly tell me to stay off it as he did last time but I am going to ask for a referral to a foot Dr.

David told me tonight that he thinks it's a convenient excuse for not exercising. Of course he was just kidding.

I just know I've got to break this stall and get things moving again.

I think that getting a referral is a good idea. There has to be something that they can do....or maybe....even exercises that they can recommend.

Maybe, the stress of everything that you have recently been going through...has stalled you. I think that stress does alot of wierd things like that. Along with my sleep apnea, I feel that stress has slowed my weight loss.

Have you been drinking your water?

I think that you already log everything...every little bite, but I feel that Ailurus had a good idea...if you're not. If people write down every single thing...they tend to "watch" what they eat even closer.

I don't know if you think that it would be "correct", but I've, also, read where some people do a "strict" induction again...then, start the ladder over again...to break a stall. I've, also, read the opposite. Some people have a carb-a-rama meal. Then, do 20 carbs/day...after that. I guess it's all a matter of finding what works best for us, as I'm sure that everyone is different.

Whatever it is...I know that you'll get through it.

Hello L&F. How much snow is there in your area at the moment?

Jean, another possibility is that you're not doing anything wrong, and this is just one of those times when your body takes a break to catch up with everything. Sometimes there are changes going on that don't show up on the scale for a while.

About 6 inches has already fallen, and in the small "Lake Effect Belt" that we live in...another 6 could fall. It's not suppose to stop until late this afternoon.

I agree fully...Ailuros!!!! Remember me....sat at the same weight forever!!! (Or so it seemed). Then, I got the jiggles...and I lost 4 pounds. Now...it's been a steady 2 pounds, or so, a week. It will probably come to a hault again....and, then...whoosh!!! That's just how I am.

*Waving* Guys, we have an ice storm here. No one can go "over the Mountain" to work, so I have a House full of people.

I haven't even had time to "Catch up" with all the posts, so When I can come back and read, I might need "click" to post and update for me.

Gotta go, looks like I will be busy cooking and stuff around here and the computer will be busy with everyone else.

I'll check in when I can.

When I have stalled or gained weight, the single thing that has been most successful at breaking it is to record all the details of my food - what I eat, together with protein, carbs, fat, calories. The first time I did it was after I'd gained a few pounds on maintenance. I found out I was eating 2500 calories quite often. And at 5' 2" 120lb ish, and only averagely active, that was just way too much. Other people stall because they're not eating enough, or have too little or too much protein or fat or carbs. Apart from letting me spot the problem, I automatically eat better if it's being recorded .

I think our snow's been cancelled - we have sunshine instead.
Ailuros, you have a good point and I completely agree with you. I have recorded every day since I started low fat last Mar. 1st and low carb in Oct. I use CalorieCountPlus by About . com and it gives a complete breakdown. I have posted results here before. The pie chart at a glance lets me know what I am overdoing.

I usually eat around 1500 calories and try to keep the carbs at or just under 30. I am not too active because of my foot but I do get around and about often.

I elevate my foot when I am at the puter and have started taking ibuprofen to ease the swelling, this past week. I am not a pill taker at all so that tells you something.

I know you enjoy the sunshine so am happy that you are having a bright day. Your hubby won't have to fight the snow when he arrives this evening, either.

You girls are just so smart. I started induction again on Wed. Strictly 20 carbs a day. It must not be water weight as that is usually the first thing to come off. I was hoping I would go WHOOSH!

I am so afraid that it is the insulin resistance and that every pound will be a struggle. It's a good thing I don't crave them. Having been hypoglycemic since age ten makes me wonder if I would have been diabetic soon if not for this woe.

BTW, where has WOE been these days?

I have upped my water from the required 64 oz back up to 100 oz. That might help.

What are your percentages as far as protein/fat/carbs? Maybe something's off there? Just a thought...

Today's a snow day here, too. No one called us, though. Here's how our morning went:

Woke Ian up as usual at about 6:30, out the door to the bus stop at 7:45. Heard him calling me, sounding panicked. Turns out some stupid dogs that that often go through our garbage were CHASING him! So he came running up to the house. Armed him with dog biscuits in case the dogs came back, and he headed back to the bus stop. The dogs never came back, and the bus never came either. Figured that somewhere in the midst of all this, we must have missed the bus coming. So called him back into the house, woke Kai up, put some clothes on over my jammies, froze my hands off scraping off my windows, and slowly drove over to the school in my little car.

Only to find out there's no school! Oh, well! Ian's thrilled, we're all dressed and ready to go (although I haven't taken the jammies off from beneath my clothes yet )

They called us on our first snow day a few weeks ago, but the one on Wed and today no one called. It's such a small, remote town that we don't have a newspaper or radio station to announce it. I'm going to find out if there's a hotline we can call or something.

I'm sick of snow. I wish it would quit snowing. I really hate snow.

I told the boys they could relax and do what they want for another half hour or so and then we're cleaning!

Yes, I know intellectually that you could be right but it is that 'if' that bothers me. What 'if' I am doing something wrong. It is so good of y'all to trouble shoot with me so if I overlooked something it would bring it to my attention.

Hi...Pear!!!!

Yes...I'm in Onederland....according to this scale. I told myself that I would not get excited about any milestone weight losses...until I see it on "MY" scale. (Remember what my Dad told me?)

I do know that I have lost 21 pounds in 2 months and 1 week. I guess that is good. "ONLY" 74 more to go. (According to this scale.)
Lets see.....at the rate I'm going....and "IF" I don't stall out...it should take....over 7 more months to get to goal ....and then the "fun" begins.

I've read that it is not abnormal for women, who still are menstruating, to gain 5-7 pounds of water a month. Maybe, that's what is going on with you. Stick to plan, drink your water, and it will all come right off.

I like Ailuros's idea....the graph paper...with daily weigh-in plotted. Then, you can "watch" over several months time, and see things that are going on regularly. Maybe, in the beginning...write down what you eat each day...so that you can compare your menu to what's going on...on the graph.

Hang in there...Jean!!!! Maybe, your whoosh will happen in the morning....it sometimes takes a few days....it's only been 2 days since starting back at 20 grams/day. Plus, everything that you have been going through. Sorrow is sometimes a great staller.
