Hey Click - just a few thoughts about your situation...

1) Maybe your mom wanted you to move closer because she knew she was leaving him. Also, she may feel some (probably a lot) of guilt about the way you were raised because of the man she chose to marry. Have you asked her about the "apartment"? It may be that that WAS the plan, but then he threw a fit. Being in an abusive situation for as long as your mom has been, does beat a person down to where they don't even know how to make a decision, act logically, be strong. Even if they want to. I'm glad he'll be out of your family's life after this.

2) As far as the housing in Minnesota - the boys can share a room. It's doable. Not ideal, but doable.

3) As far as your son staying in Indiana with your mom - can he look into dorm living or getting roommates during this first semester? Not the original plan, but maybe another way to do it if he really wants to stay there.

4) I'd be mad and frustrated as he11 too - so go ahead and feel those emotions! Grrrr. Let it fuel your resolve for whatever you decide to do. I just wanted to give you a few different angles from which to view the situation and motives involved.

5)

6) I don't think anyone here feels like you shouldn't share with us. I, personally, feel honored that you're so honest with us.

7) Another

He doesn't even know my mother's intentions. He's gone overnight...because his work sometimes requires him to be.

Is there a possibility that the four of you could get an apartment in Indiana? Your son can go to school, and maybe you can get into nursing school where you are, where its easier. Just a thought.

You must be going through so many emotions right now, I can't imagine. We're here for you when you need us.
No...there is no possibility of the four of us getting an apartment here. I will not be thrown into the middle of all the bu11sh1t anymore.

I think that her intentions were to get us here, basically...trap us here. Like I told her....I have been forthright about my intentions since before even coming here. I had NO intention of "living" here. I was coming here to go to school. I even went to the extent of saying: "It's four years...are you SURE that you want us there for that long?".

1) Yes. I have asked her about the apartment. It's always turned-around to something else. She takes no blame for anything.....ever.

2) Yes. The boy's, 6-7 years apart, could share a bedroom. The problem is....the oldest would've had to sign the application too...he's 18 or over. Plus, due to the age difference...their are laws about siblings sharing rooms...and since this is government housing that I'm talking about...they'd probably follow the rules.

3)He will be finishing his semester here...it's already begun. Depending on his decision...we might need to look into dorm living. (I don't know that I could afford that?)

4), 5), 6), & 7) Thanks, sweetie!!!

Haven't told him yet.

The brother, in going against my request for the evening, is sitting over here with his daughter...instead of at his own house. I don't feel that what I have to say is any of their business. Soooo, I am 'patiently' waiting.

Before I forget, I made your peirogi filling tonight. It was really good. A little bland at first, but the flavor sneaks up on you. Hubby and I both loved it.

Thanks for sharing it.

I'm glad that you tried it.

Did you put plenty of butter in it?

How about garlic salt? I sprinkle some on top of my serving. Also, you could put some minced garlic in with the meat while browning.

I was, also, thinking of using some chinese seasonings...maybe...it might taste like egg roll filling?

Yes, I put a whole stick of butter in it and lots of garlic powder and salt.

I dont have any 5spice in the house, that may be good too.

Luckily, a new cookery book has just arrived in the post, so I'll amuse myself with that while you restore your blood caffeine levels.

It's a book of traditional European recipes, so there are lots that are too carby, but there's plenty that isn't - there's one Finnish recipe called "bread cheese" that involves making a soft fresh cheese, then pressing it into a flat round and baking it for an hour or two. Apparently it's eaten with milk or coffee, or you can fry slices in butter, or Fins just treat it as if it were bread. I'll give it a try and let you know. There are lots of recipes for meat, fish, eggs, cheese etc. Definitely food porn .

I've gone back to the start of the book now - it starts with fish, and I'm very tempted by a Norwegian recipe for trout in sour cream.
