Very well could be...Jean!!! Maybe, that is why the first thing that I used to do...when angry, upset, etc... would be to eat!!!! (Pork skins save my arse now...and it only takes a few to make that feeling go away.) Maybe, that's why the weight is disappearing in spurts too.

Ailuros, yes, it doesn't seem fair that we are all chatting away while you are sleeping. Great tip for Cheryl re: the antihistamine.

Click, do you ever listen to music as you study. Would an IPod sorta thing work for you to block out the noise?

Hippiegirl, get well and come back to us!

MomToEli and backspace, get yourself back here, ya hear, we miss you!

That's the problem...my mind won't read what my eyes see when there is any type of music, noise, etc... around. While reading something, well enough to remember it...and then, to write an essay on it...I need silence. Otherwise, my eyes could read a chapter, but I can't tell you what they read.

Here's one more reason that "Dad's" an arse...today too!!!!

He knows that I CAN'T, and the boys WON'T eat chili. Wouldn't you think that when he used the hamburger, that I bought, and prepared the sh1t...he would've mentioned WHAT he was making for supper. Now, there's nothing here for us to eat for supper.

I guess that I will have to go now, and use the last of my money...until next week...and get something for us to eat.

Be Back Later!!!

*Talking under my breath*
I can't stand this place, or the freakin' people in this house!!!!

I am exactly the same way, if I am reading something on the net and the TV is on I have to mute it or turn it off. When I read a book, there is silence.

Hmmmm, does this sound like a stressful situation!!

I am more in awe that you are as successful as you are. It substantiates how strong you are in the face of challenge.

Thanks for posting the Almond Joy recipe, Click. I dont like coconut, but I appreciate you posting it anyway.

I was snooping around the net looking for ideas, and I found a dutch atkins board with recipes :yay:

I've got Gevulde Spekulaas in the oven right now and it smells heavenly.

I'll try to translate it for you:
Gevulde Spekulaas

This makes an 8" cake pan. Spray pan with Pam.

For the batter:
1 cup almonds
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup cream cheese
2 eggs
sweetener equal to 1/2 cup sugar (12 drops Sweetzfree)
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
Speculaas spices to taste, you can substitute pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon/ginger 1:1.

Put the above ingredients in the blender, and blend until thoroughly mixed.
Pour half in the cake pan, the rest in a bowl.
Clean the blender.

For the filling:
1/2 cup almonds
1 egg
Salt and sweetner to taste
1 teaspoon almond extract
Mix in the blender. Form a round flat circle (I did this directly in the cake pan) and lay on the batter in the cake pan.
Pour the rest of the batter on top.

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

Slice in 8ths.

I dont have a carb count. Maybe someone could run it for me.
