I was walking around my local shopping center Tuesday and decided to check out the shoes at Kohl's, hoping that I might find something that would work.

The first pair I spotted were Adidas and not the clunky, heavy sneakers that hurt my feet. I tried them on and voilą, they felt wonderful.

I walked around on the carpeted area for some time as I couldn't believe it. I tried on a another brand and could really tell the difference in how they fit my feet. So I put the Adidas back on and there were no 'hot spots' at all. I'm in awe by now!

I thought, surely I'll get blisters not having my heels enclosed for at least 8 years but was pleasantly surprised. I've worked up to 30 mins. a day since and they haven't let me down. I am ecstatic. Oh, it's the little things in life!!!

That's good Jean!!!!

My friend's daughter is a runner, and Adidas is the only kind that she will wear. They are very light weight.

Do you know what Adidas stands for?

It's kinda' fitting for your long distance love affair!!!

Click, that was always my problem while sitting here at the puter. I solved it by cutting jicama into matchstick size pieces and noshing on them. They are so sweet, fresh, crisp and crunchy that it replaces the bad stuff.

BUT, you may not be able to get it there and you may not like jicama so is there a veggie that you like enough to use in the same manner?

I hope others have some other ideas.

What is jicama?

It was something about those two types of candy...I don't know what it was...that's the only time that I ate it. It was something about a mouth full of that chewy, sticky, fruity candy....I felt like it brought the thoughts from my head to the keyboard efficiently...while savoring the mouthful of that stuff. (The words, creatively, just flowed right out!) I can't explain what I mean very well.

Veggies just wouldn't be the same....it wasn't the crunching...it was the sticky, chewy, obscene...almost too sweet...thing!!! (I'm not talking about eating a couple at a time neither. I would put a handful at a time in my mouth. (I divided them up by color first)

Or....salt water taffy.
Or...."Laffy Taffy".

Those are the other two kinds I used to eat while writing, but mostly it was skittles and mike and ike's.

I think I was trying to say you have to change your mind about what you used to eat versus what you can eat now. What worked for me was to replace the old with the new.

I will show you a picture of jicama in a sec...

The inside is often referred to as a cross between an apple and a potato but you really can't describe it. It is so moist, crisp, crunchy and sweet, not starchy like a potato or mealy as an apple. They are very popular in the Western States as they are grown in Mexico.

Jean, we did a long-distance relationship for about ten years before we moved in together. Well, we bought a house together sooner than that, but just met up in it at the weekend for a couple of years. These days, if I'm going to be away for any reason, I line up food and get everything ready, as if he couldn't survive on his own, even though I know he managed perfectly well living on his own for years.
It's like being on a perpetual honeymoon, isn't it, Ailuros?

Our personalities are so different. He is extremely organized, driven, self-disciplined and I am, well....let's just say we are different (more normal)...

This allows us to enjoy each other without getting on each others nerves and it must be working!

Thanks for sharing that, I don't feel like such a weirdo now!

I'm here, I'm here! I've been really sick all week. Actually felt ok yesterday and this morning, but now I feel sick again.

I've also been in A VERY BAD MOOD. So I haven't wanted to post. I'm a Cancer; I guess I'm just withdrawing into my shell for awhile.

Thanks for wondering where I am, and no, of course I'm not mad at anyone!

Happy to see everyone's doing so well. Hopefully I'll feel like posting again soon. Right now, I've just been reading everything here and on the playground and main lowcarb lobby, etc. as a cheap distraction from my roiling stomach.

Everyone have a good night!

Kim

So, Jean!!!

Do you subtract the fiber count from your carb count? Some people do and some people don't.

That sounds good. There are alot of Mexicans in the area...I'll have to search for it. Maybe, if the regular grocery stores don't carry it...the Mexican Markets might.
