The boats are in the water, but not going anywhere while there is still ice.

I just read the ice has to be at least 15cm thick on the entire route before they can hold the race. Well, I dont believe the freezing temps held long enough. The last race was in 1997. Its a huge deal to be able to finish that race.

Well....I'm back!!!!

Besides all of the "normal" running around today....

I prepared home-made quesadilla's (spelling?) for six, and made my salad.
Cleaned-up the mess from doing so.
Made some more home-made chicken salad for tomorrow.
Ran back to the market for some Crispy Cream Doughnuts for my Dad...who has diabetes.
Did our laundry
Did all of my parents laundry...just put the last load in the dryer. (which they will complain about the noise, at this hour, tomorrow).

Sheeeew!!! I'm getting tired!!!

Yes, she's still here and going strong.

The street is now full of houses and nurseries. It doesnt look anything like that anymore.

Pear - love the pictures. My dh's family is from Holland. I guess he is second generation born here, but he is 100% Dutch. In fact, his generation of the family is the first to, er, crossbreed

As they say, you can tell a Dutchman, you just can't tell him much!

Of course, who am I to talk, but you have been a LOT more productive than me tonight. Ah, tomorrow I'll get my house back in order. Dh is off the next 4 days so I probably won't be around a whole lot.

She was talking about going back to visit with her sister, but I dont know if anything will come of it. Her sister doesnt really have room for my mom to stay.

MomtoEli, does your husband speak any dutch? Ahhh yes, you can tell a dutch but ja can't tell him much. What part of Holland is he from?
