Good morning everyone!!!!!

I don't know if it is because I feel that I finally have direction in my life again, or if it's the cidar vinegar, or if it just took a month...after the the initial 2 weeks of this woe, but the last few days I've felt really good. I sleep, and wake-up feeling like I have energy. It feels so good to not feel as though I'm walking around in the state of sleep all day long....haven't felt like this in a LONG time. My sleep apnea must not be as bad lately.

Yesterday...it was 64 degrees. Can you beleive that? I mean it's January...and it is the midwest. I heard that it was even in the 40's in Minnesota. Something is going on!!! My Dad beleives in the cycle period theory versus the warming greenhouse effect. I don't know, but I do know that when I was a kid...January stood for bitterly cold temps, and lots of snow!!!! The lakes do not even have a skim of ice on them here. My youngest is very upset about this, as he wants to go icefishing very badly. That is part of his reasoning, in his equation, of why he wants to go back to Minnesota.

Today, I have more running to do with the oldest. He wants to get some school clothes, and a haircut. So, then, after today...hopefully, he will be completely ready to start his college endeavors on Monday....I'm so excited for him. If he applies himself, he will have a bright future.

Pear- I hope that I get housing quick too. I told the managers what happened with this move, as the applications ask why I am moving. I didn't know what to write. After hearing what I had to say, they told me to write down...inadequate living conditions.
Maybe your body is adjusting to your current weight, before another large loss? Don't give up though. Remember how long I sat on the exact same weight----3 weeks!!!! I KNOW HOW FRUSTRATING THIS IS, but it will move again.

Well...I'll "talk" with you all later. I have to get my youngest some breakfast, and get him off to school. After dropping him off, I'm going to stop and get some cabbage. I like to brown some hamburer and onion, strain, add shredded cabbage with a little water, then cover and simmer...when the water is gone, and the cabbage is tender...I put a little garlic salt and a stick of butter in there. It's really good. One of my Grandma's used to make this mixture for her homemade pierogi filling.

Hi...hippiegirl!!!!!

It is good...and filling too!!!

People, who choose to eat noodles, put egg noodles in it too. (The lazy way to make pierogis).

My grandma used to make the egg noodle dough, roll it out thin, cut it in circles (the lid of a small margarine container--used to cut the circles), put the hamburger/cabbage mixture in, fold the circle in half, seal the edges, par-boil them, and then fry it in butter. It was a nice Christmas treat.

Now, I make the noodles on the side, and everyone that wants noodles just puts them in with the mixture on their plates.

There was over a foot of snow here. Then, it all melted within 2 days, and it, also, rained real hard for about a day. Some serious flooding is going on. Today....not quite as warm (warm, in my opinion for January), but a nice sunny day.

First one we've had in...well, I've never even seen one here before! We're getting hit hard this year! It has literally snowed non-stop for three days!

Ian's happy, though!

Morning gals:

I lost a pound yesterday. Down to 216. Lets keep going...

Glad your trip went well, Click. Did they give you any indication on how long it might be for a house?

Just had deviled eggs and ACV for breakfast, now I'm sipping my coffee. Its not making me jittery like it was last week.

Lunch is meatballs. Not sure what dinner is tonight, I'm on my own. The hubby and the inlaws are going to dinner and a hockey game. They offered to wait for me but that would mean they would be too late to go out to dinner. I decided to have a night to myself. I'll probably go by the stores on my way home.

Good morning...Pear!!!

No, they didn't say how long it would be, but I've come to the decision that if they start to take too long, I will just have to find a place there that doesn't go by income...and try to make it work with school, and family. My youngest is older now. So, maybe he could be alone a tad bit longer than usual.

I'm happy that your water is finally letting go. I'm sure that you'll be back down soon.

You know....having a night to yourself, once in a while, to do as you please is nice...and sometimes the best therapy around. I hope that you enjoy yourself!!!

I'm here = I'm here!

Good morning everyone. It's beautiful here today and should reach 80. Not a cloud in the sky. Went for my walk already - vacuumed and now just resting until I can come up with another chore. I have all tile floors and should wash them - but it takes forever. I don't do them on my knees anymore because I wouldn't be able to walk after that. I do have carpet in the bedrooms, living room, dining room - but the rest is all tile - even the entire pathway from the entrance down through the master bedroom, kitchen, the entire leisure room and hall going into the guest wing. Having two cats doesn't help either - so when the fur balls are flying on the floor I know it's time to tackle it all.

Have to tell you gals something. On Monday decided to take my mother shopping. She had been doing so well Sat./Sun. Well guess what she had for breakfast before I picked her up...... strawberries in the syrup (the kind you buy in the freezer section. Well you know what happened one hour after breakfast, sweats, weakness, dizzy, etc. Sure enough it was a dramatic drop in blood sugar.

So for the umpteenth time I told her it was her blood sugar (she is not diabetic but I think has hypoglicemic). Long story short for the last two days she is eating protein and laying off the fruit. I talked to her this morning and she said she feels so much better. One more reason to stay off of carbs. She was astonished when I repeated what I've said a million times previously.

Last fall her blood sugar (after fasting) was 119. Then when I got her on protein = Low Carb her blood sugar (not fasting) came in at 83 so you can see the low carb WOE does work.

Have a great day everyone. Keep on your WOE and the weight will come off. I'm suffering from a headache today - but that's a good sign. My energy level is definitely up so that's another good sign....

Hugs everyone!

Ixtapacheryl....why is a headache a good sign?

I'm happy to see that you are feeling good, and that your mom is feeling better, and, finally, listening to reason. You know....doctors have pounded it into our heads for so long to eat a certain way (not our way) that it's hard to reverse the brainwashing. I'm sure that changing her ways at 80 something would be even harder to do...but it sounds like she, finally, HEARD you!!!

Jean I hope you get some success with your car.

I was down another pound this morning - that's three of the five pounds I gained over Christmas. I'm still nine pounds higher than the very lowest weight I reached (though that wasn't for long) and seven pounds above the weight I'd like to get back to. It would be nice to think it will continue to drop a pound a day, but somehow, I don't think that's likely .

There's a beautiful blue sky here this morning. It's not quite fully light yet, but looks as if it will be a gorgeous day . After grey skies for ages, it's nice to see the sun again.

Ailuros, wow, if you are only seven pounds from your desired weight I can understand them being so stubborn. Those last ten pounds are extremely difficult, I hear.

Thanks for your good wishes on my car.

Enjoy the sun!

Jean

Weigh to go Pear!

It sounds like a good decision to me, a whole evening to yourself.

I'm off to the dentist for routine teeth cleaning at 11:00 AM then to the Dr. for my friend, Bud. He fell asleep in his chair and when he got up his legs weren't limber yet and he fell. His ankle and knee are really hurting. He is almost 90 so you see how this could happen.

Jean, I'm not totally sure what my goal weight is . I'm about at the initial one I set when I first started LC. I reached it about four years ago, then kept deciding that just a bit more would be good, and I went down about ten more pounds over the next couple of years. My lowest weight was in early 2006. I actually felt that was a bit too low, so deliberately regained a couple of pounds. Then last winter was really tough because we spent a long time away from home, to visit my MIL who was ill, and finally died. Coming home, dealing with administering her will, and pre-menopausal stuff just left me exhausted and depressed for a lot of last year, and between the time away from home and then more weight creep through last year, I put on another five or six pounds (not counting the recent Christmas damage). I sort of think of this as a correcting a maintenance wibble. I'm now in the middle of the healthy body fat range for my height (for non-athletes!) and I like to be nearer the lower end - so you're right, changes tend to be very slow. But at least I can eat lots of good things while they happen .

Good Morning...Jean!!!

Hope your day is going well.

Your car ordeal is enough to ruin even a nice day. I hope that they get to the bottom of the REAL problem...and soon!!!

Sooooo...whatcha' making us for supper? I'm hungry for some reason?

So far today:

water

vitamins
ACV

2 eggs
3 slices of bacon

Pork rinds

It's not even close to lunch time and I'm hungry. Oh...yeah!!! Now I see why. I forgot to eat my EVCO. Maybe, I'll go eat (swallow)some, and see if that helps. How's the coconut oil going for you? Still able to take it...and not get the burning sensation? I hope so!!!!

Cheryl,

I do hope your Mother will take heed and watch her carbs. I have been hypoglycemic most of my life and know exactly what you are describing, but, as mentioned, old habits die hard.

You are such a blessing for her and she is fortunate to have you as you are to still have her around. I always feel blessed when I am there for someone.

Ailuros, life does get in the way sometimes but you have a great attitude and I am tickled that you have been so successful. It is a great morale booster for those of us still on the journey. Just think, you will never be 'fat' again, you have found the key!

Thank you for sharing with us and we will be here supporting you, also.

Thanks, Jean, I really do appreciate the support. I think it was a great idea of Tooter's to have a thread where new and old can all mix in together .
